"Spreading the Wealth" in America is being labeled by some republicans as socialism. What is the label for spreading the wealth among oil companies, war supplies big businesses, Iraq, Afghanistan etc.? Is it socialism to give a tax cut to those whose income does not allow them to buy a car, but offers no tax cut to those who can afford to buy an airplane?I own a car dealer and I make more than 250,000.00 a year. I do not want to pay more taxes, but at the same time I want my customers to afford buying a car from me. If the low income families get a tax cut, it is more likely that these families can afford to buy cars from me. If my sale increases, I can afford to hire more employees. For every employee I hire Obama promises me a tax break. The average salary income reported by American plumbers is less than 50,000.00. Obama is promising no tax increase for those whose income is less than 250,000.00 a year.Whatever tax all Americans are paying right now will be mostly used for improving healthcare and education, creating jobs, searching for energy independence, enhancing our military life and protecting America. After some years under Obama’s economic plan, some Americans who have been receiving welfare checks for the last 8 years might be able to get jobs and pay taxes. Can you explain to me why is this idea labeled as socialism or “a bad medicine for an ill economy”?
