rooting for BARACK!!!
The less Obama supporters take the bait from Republicans about her, the more likely the media is to realize that she's not so interesting to us. So, this is my last post about her. I will focus on Obama/McCain only, until the VP debates
I don't see why I should think this woman is suddenly more interesting than Barack, who still epitomizes interesting, imo. She is not unique in any way whatsoever! What's special? There are plenty of women who've given birth to five kids, have pregnant teen daughters, have Down syndrome babies, shoot moose, etc. Big deal! Two of the above are not even her own accomplishments, but situations that her children have to bear. Why is she more fascinating to the media than even Hillary Clinton was? More obsession with a female potential VP, than with one who was running for PRESIDENT??? Heck, Sarah's not even the first to do this!
This was a panicked choice, the choice of Palin as VP. I fuly believe he was leaning toward Romney or Pawlenty until late last week.
Please don't let the conversation to continue to be about Palin and her lack of experience. Because the right wing will always bring up Obama's supposed lesser experience, and even though we have good arguments against that comparison, each time voters hear "Obama doesn't have any experience", its a reminder to them that he's "unqualified". This hurts Obama's campaign in the end, and its exactly what CNN/McCain campaign seems to want.
Also. lets all drop the teen pregnancy story. I know Obama denounced having the conversation, but I still alot of Dems making an issue of it. Its not an issue that will be won, and will instead garner sympathy toward her. Also, I feel CNN is making a bigger out of this than they are the fact that Palin is being investigated for a forced firing. This is more serious to me, and I feel the agenda there is to focus on the lesser issue so that THAT will be let go, and then Palin gets off the hook for both controversies. If we MUST attack Palin, let it be because of the alleged forced firing.
Otherwise, what we ALL should be focused on is the economy, and tying McCain to Bush. We had a beautiful start at last week's convention, lets continue what was started. While most people seem to think the reason you went down in the polls is because you weren`t fighting back, my opinion is that you just focused on the wrong issue for an entire month. You focused on McCain`s strong suit--foreign policy. Instead of trying so hard to catch up on an issue that you`ll never be able to make too many inroads in during a short period of time, you should have focused on the area where your advantage is, the same area which is conveniently issue number 1 for Americans, THE ECONOMY!!! If you had sharpened your plans, and said how out of touch McCain is with the right solutions, and how he``s like Bush in that regard, you would have almost a 10 point lead today. I know you`re now focusing on the economy, but I`ve had computer problems for a week and couldn`t tell you all this on time, lol. So indulge me.
That being said, it seems you waited until getting Joe Biden before shifting your focus to the economy, and in particular the blue collar workers. It seems you`re hoping not only to use his working class appeal, but you could be hoping that with his foreign policy experience, you can focus ALL your attention now to the economy. Let HIM handle the foreign policy gap for you until November. This is a great idea, but again, I`m dismayed that you waited for him to show up before focusing mainly on the economy, which you should have done with or without his presence on the ticket. I hate to harp on you, and I still believe you`ll win, but a whole month is a LOT of time to lose, and I feel you`re taking the extremely difficult route to the white house, when it should have been just plain challenging.
Another issue I want to discuss is Hillary Clinton. I applaud `your choice not to choose her as runningmate. Its what I wanted all along. I however think you guys screwed up in not vetting her, I was surprised because I thought you did. That way, even if you were never going to choose her, you can at least claim to have considered her, and people wouldn`t be able to argue. I do however believe you spoke to her about her resume, and her resume(most of it) is pretty public anyway. I think getting Bill`s documents would have been a problem. But the most important thing is that everything she can claim she has, Biden has more of. More experience,. more foreign policy experience, more working class roots as far as I know, and most of all you would be more comfortable with him. `You``ve worked closely with him on a commitee, and you can trust him, which I can`t say for Clinton.Sorry but true.
The only thing I don`t get is this idea that you should have `consulted` Bill before making your pick. Ridiculous, why is that so necessary?????
anyway, till next time. Who wants to join me in our OWN negative campaign/ads against McCain????
We have to start a grassroots campaign. Barack is too much of a gentleman, and I can’t just sit back anymore. We’ve got to play hardball for him.
So many issues McCain has, just WAITING to be hammered on! Yes, Barack is on the offensive now, but I don't feel that anything he's saying has enough bite. We can bite FOR HIM.
Lets brainstorm together, and figure out how to do this thing!!!!! I've known since last week that it will be Biden!!!!
on being belligerent on Russia last week. That kind of talk could inflame the situation, and Barack needs to hammer that point down. The talk was "tough" but dangerous! US does NOT need another dangerous leader like Bush!!!!
His claim to not know anything about the economy, and his ludicrous gas tax proposal. Hammer down the fact that oil drilling is also a gimmick(you may have lost your chance to do this thanks to your "bipartisan" talk, ugh!).
The fact that he didn't know Afghanistan is still a hotspot in the war against terror.
His lack of judgement in his decision to not support the GI Bill for Vets. I know they try to avoid attacking McCain's war experience, and they shouldn't, but I think his sell out of his fellow vets in terms of the GI bill and other occasions should be fair game. It is only telling the truth. Besides, if the Repubs are getting ready to use the "Born Alive" abortion voting against Barack, I think Barack should play fire with fire.
Have events reaching out to seniors. These are the people that are holding back on you. Especially the white males.
All they cared about with regard to the debate was style, and the fact that McCain brought up his war experience. They hardly talked about what was SAID. Obama made alot of VERY good points to every answer, and McCain didn't. The war story was smart to bring up, but McCain not only did it at the wrong time, but it seemed to be the only thing Gergen remembered about the whole event. Was nothing else discussed? It seems only one question was asked, and it was the one where McCain brought up his war story if you listen to Gergen.
Fox news thought Obama sounded intelligent, while McCain's answers sounded too canned.
HELL HAS FROZEN OVER!!!!!
I'm glad, cause it shows that CNN and MSNBC were QUACKS last night. It felt like the Twilight Zone. I didn't feel like I had just seen the same program they did.
When he said that Obama should have done what McCain and inserted an emotional story, to reach audiences emotionally. I don't see why he should force a story that wasn't part of the answer to the question into his answer. Yeah, Jesus means to me,... that my dad abandoned me when I was two!!!!!!!
Awwwwww.
Cause McCain might as well have been doing that last night. Any chance he could get to force something in to score points he did. David should recognize the pandering, and not consider it a fault of Obama's.
I've been so disappointed in Gergen, and I realized in bed last night that he was the reason I was angry. All through the primaries , I thought he was one of the most rationale, fair minded ones. He always spoke common wise and sounded wise. Gave advice that made me think he was a god. Now he's consistently saying crap like how Obama needs Clinton and its arrogance that makes him cross her off the list. I'm also mad at the host of that "so-called" debate. The whole thing was tailored to make McCain look good!!!
Our only hope is for Barack to really POUND THE HELL OUT OF MCCAIN AT THE DEBATES!!!!!!!!!
THE REAL DEBATES!!!!!!!!!!!! cause he was "forceful and direct", while Barack was too nuanced and "danced around the issues".
WTF?
This is a republican station! As far as I'm concerned. He answered the questions, period. McCain didn't. CNN is really giving McCain a tongue bath!!!
to Corsi's book, to people who are inclined to believe such lies. Its one thing for him to write it, but we all know more people are going to hear about or read what's in the book. He needs our assistance to pass the info on. Word of mouth, and then direct them to the fightthesmears.com site. Lets do it people!!!!
He says "overconfidence" may be a reason Obama won't choose Clinton.
No, maybe cause he has NO confidence in her!!!!!!!
