The saddest thing about the KLAN or any of the hate groups is that they use religion to promote their hateful beliefs. It makes me sad and makes me wonder what God is thinking about it.

THREE Australian cities have been targeted by offshoots of the Ku Klux Klan over recent months in an apparent recruiting drive by white supremacists.
Toowoomba was targeted first by leaflets that asked people to become a klansman or klanswoman in March.
Shortly afterwards, Cairns was targeted and then Rockhampton, last month, by a different group, Storm Front.
In Toowoomba and Cairns the pamphlets promoted the US-based White Legion Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.
Its website has an Australian page featuring propaganda presented as fact about African and Asian immigration, Aboriginal crime, the homosexuality agenda and - an old favourite - Jewish influence in the media.
Queensland Attorney-General Kerry Shine, a Toowoomba MP, referred the pamphlets to the state's Anti-Discrimination Commissioner, Susan Booth.
"Toowoomba is a very tolerant city," Mr Shine told The Australian when the KKK first struck.
"I believe any form of racial vilification is abhorrent."
B'nai B'rith Anti-Defamation Commission executive officer Manny Waks said the Storm Front flyers in Rockhampton called for "real" Australians to join white supremacist movements and to fight against crimes allegedly committed by ethnic groups.
Mr Waks said the leaflet drops indicated a recruitment drive. "It is outrageous that in this time and age the KKK and Storm Front are still active in our tolerant and peaceful country," he said.
"No Australian should be affiliated in any way, shape or form with these vile, racist groups. We must ensure that the impressionable youth does not get influenced by these racists to join its minuscule ranks."
The Queensland Anti-Discrimination Commission said that the leaflets incited hatred and provoked people to harm others. Queensland Police have also investigated each of the leaflet drops.
"There is no doubt that the KKK and Storm Front are at best on the fringe of Australian society, but it is always concerning to see any activity coming from such quarters," Mr Waks said.
"It is a reminder that blatant racism still exists in our multicultural Australia and that we must remain vigilant and be willing to take swift action to combat such individuals and organisations when the need arises."

I was making volunteer calls tonight and found myself wondering if people thought that Obama-Biden had announced that they were leaving the state and callingn it won. When I'd ask, people explained that school had started, that the football season had started, that their lives got busier with the seasonal change. They explained that they couldn't really spare time as they had. None seemed to wish the candidate anything less than victory, but somehow despite the dire situation that the country remains in. Despite the continued efforts by the McCain/Palin ticket, the RNC and the 527 groups (not to mention the FAKE Authors and FAKE charity organizations) supporters, who had volunteered before are in a position of false security. BECAUSE OF POLLS? BECAUSE OF AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF A MAN WHO HAS MADE LYING HIS PRIMARY STRATEGY?

The deadline for registering is Monday...make sure that you have your forms with you and you ask everyone you see if they're registered...today, I registered the clerk at the gas station I frequent. He's a citizen since 1977 and hasn't ever been registered before...said he's tired of seeing the country he came to going down the tubes.

She has raised several champion pigs for 4-H contests. Bacon says she calls pigs every morning and night with her 9-year-old daughter, Jacey.
Bacon won the crown over as she started her hog call with a few loud snorts and a long, drawn-out "sooey."

A veteran journalist and media critic, Cliff concentrated in journalism and communications at the University of Toledo, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and came to Washington through a national journalism program headed by conservative author and journalist M. Stanton Evans. At his college newspaper, Cliff won an award for editorial writing from the Society of Professional Journalists.

George W. Bush has seized dictatorial control and has compromised the United States Constitution by his actions of disregarding the voice of both houses of congress. We the United States are presently in a severe energy crisis the oil industries have recorded consecutive enormous profits. The oil industries are continuing to receive unneeded subsidies from the American taxpayers; for financial relief to the oil industries from when they where also in a similar state of crisis years back. As the American taxpayers are feeling the brunt of this present energy crisis the oil industry refuses to yield their taxpayers subsidies the oil industry has only one person protecting them that is George W. Bush. George W. Bush protection to the oil industry is unreasonable.
Both houses of congress have voted and proposed to transfer the present subsidies the oil industries are receiving to alternative energy programs those programs would enhance a variety of methods of alternative energy while these programs would also increase our vital national security. This is also a principle of economics law of substitutions which is a natural occurring event in ecomomies. Although, this law of substitutions can not occur when the industry that are in competition is either an oligopoly or monopoly which should be recognized by even a C student from Yale in economic that would be George W. Bush. For George W. Bush not to demand the oil industries to relinquish these subsides from the American taxpayers is clearly an act of classical fascism.

(The following is a review of Stalin, Part II, part of a three-part television series on PBS channels. Part One was reviewed in the last issue of Challenge-Desafio)
During the period from 1929 to 1932 a great "turn to the left" took place in the Soviet Union. Tens of thousands of activist workers went from the cities to help the poor peasants collectivize the countryside. The five-year plan, to begin the industrialization of the country, was begun. Brand-new industries sprang up; whole cities, like Komsomolsk and Magnitogorsk, were built from nothing, through the communist enthusiasm and dedication of hundreds of thousands of workers and youth. In the throes of this enthusiasm, a recruitment drive brought the majority of the Soviet working class into the Communist Party.
Parallel with these economic developments, left-wing forces pushed for a working-class line in literature, art, and education. Schools and colleges gave preferential admission to workers; communist writers and artists challenged themselves and their colleagues to "serve the working class" in whatever they did. It was truly a "cultural revolution," as some bourgeois scholars have termed it. 1
Taken together, these developments can be seen as the first attempt in human history to create an entirely new society based upon the working class! The profound importance of this ¨period for workers and their allies everywhere cannot be overestimated.
These advances could be unleashed only because a left-wing line -- Stalin's line -- had won out in the central Communist Part debates of the 1920s. Naturally, this period horrifies capitalists and anti-working class forces. They would like to portray it, and everything that came after it, as a terrible time. And so they do in this program, through lies -- saying things happened that never did -- as well as by omission -- leaving out important events, like those mentioned above. This article will concentrate on exposing the lies.
There was much real support for collectivization among the poorer peasants, and among peasant women especially. Many hated the "kulaks" -- the rich peasants who, along with the priests, traditionally controlled village life -- as did many workers, most of whom were first- or second-generation away from the village and who remembered its oppression. But you would never guess it from this program, which portrays collectivization as an inhuman onslaught against a defenseless peasantry.
The lies about the "man-made famine" of 1932-33 are repeated, with the fabricated stories of 5 to 7 million deaths and phony photographs taken, without acknowledgement, from the ¨Volga famine of 1921-22. A long series appeared in Challenge-Desafio three years ago on this question; 3 ; its arguments will not be repeated here, except to say that bourgeois, capitalist scholars have themselves long since exposed this nonsense [ed. -- to go to the first article of this earlier series on the "Hoax of the 'Man-Made Famine' in the Ukraine", click here .]
A long section of the film is devoted to trying to show that Stalin was responsible for the murder of Kirov, his closest ally in the leadership of the Communist Party. The film takes its argument from a recent book by professional anti-communist liar and British Secret Service agent Robert Conquest. 4 Though Conquest repeats over and over in his book that Stalin's guilt is "proven," in fact he has no decent evidence at all! A recent (and very polite) review of Conquest's book points out how dishonest it is, and repeats that there is apparently no Soviet evidence of Stalin's guilt -- for the best of reasons, we might add! 5
Just over one minute of the program is devoted to the Communist International, or Comintern. We are told that "it was all Trotsky's idea," "Stalin disliked foreigners," -- complete lies! The Comintern also partook of the "left turn" during the period 1929-32, which witnessed the most class-conscious, revolutionary efforts of workers towards the goal of communist revolution. Far from a xenophobic madman, as the film portrays him, Stalin himself led the struggle, ultimately unsuccessful, to rid the communist parties of their right-wing leadership and tendencies during this period.
The most striking part of Stalin, Part II focuses on the arrests, imprisonments, trials and executions which followed Kirov's murder in December 1934. The period from 1934 to the war is described as one of "terror," when millions were wrongly killed and everyone lived in fear (although, incongruously, we are also told that "for many people, life was better"). The film portrays all this as a result of Stalin's "greed for power," and paranoia. This too is all rubbish.
Some important trials were held in 1935 and 1936, of high-ranking Party officials who were accused of anti-Party conspiracies and industrial sabotage. That the conspiracies, including contact with Trotsky abroad, and secret factionalizing existed, has been proven by bourgeois scholars. 6 As for the sabotage, both émigrés and American engineers working as consultants in the USSR at the time attest to it, particularly suspecting Yuri Pyatakov, in fact charged with sabotage in his 1936 trial 7
The real wave of arrests, imprisonments, and executions, during which many innocent people were unquestionably punished or killed, did not in fact occur until the Soviet government uncovered a massive treasonable conspiracy involving top party and military leaders, in May 1937. Much circumstantial evidence exists to confirm this plot, and the NKVD (political police) reacted in panic. 8
Following Conquest, Cohen and other liars, the film estimates 8 to 14 million persons killed as a result of the "terror." Conquest's death figures have been disproven and mocked by more responsible bourgeois scholars. 9
One of them (still a ferocious anti-Communist) recently estimated the death toll at 75,000 - 200,000 10 , or one one-hundredth of the figures given in the film and book!
Why the numbers game? Isn't this level of deaths "bad enough" for the anti-Communists? No! They realize that their audience knows millions have been killed by capitalists in the name of anti- communism and for exploitation. They know that anti-Communism can be effective only if workers can be convinced that communism is worse than the worst form of capitalism -- fascism. Hitler killed 20 million Soviet citizens [ed. -- actually, more like 28 million, as the Russian government revealed a few years ago], Hitlerism was capitalism -- therefore, they must "prove" that Stalin was even worse! Hence the lies.

My post a few weeks ago on Sarah Palin acting as Barack Obama’s psychological shadow triggered a lot of people. I thought it would be worthwhile to talk about how one deals with the shadow once it breaks out and begins to disrupt things. But first a short recap: The emergence of Gov. Palin wasn’t simply startling — it was inexplicable. How could 20% of women voters suddenly turn toward her when Palin stands for erasing forty years of feminism? How could the mentality of a small-town mayor morph into a potential President making global decisions? To explain her meteoric rise, I offered the idea that each of us harbors a shadow, a place where our hidden impulses live. By appealing to fear, resentment, hostility to change, suspicion of “the other,” and similar dark impulses, the Republicans have been the shadow’s party for a long time. Sarah Palin put a smiling face on feelings that normally we feel ashamed of.
The shadow is irrational; it thrives on gut emotions. (A recent Fox News poll ran with the headline, “In their gut, independents choose McCain.”) Bringing the 2008 campaign down to the gut level means bringing it down to the level of the shadow. Instead of listening to an intelligent, persuasive, charismatic man with one African-American parent, people get to say, “I just don’t like blacks. They’re scary; they’re not like me. It’s a gut thing.” Only it’s not. It’s a shadow thing that each of us, not just the right wing, must deal with. Reacting to Palin with fear, confusion, panic, and lashing out also comes from the shadow.
People who were shocked and dismayed by the Palin effect generally don’t know how to handle shadow energies. Here are a few salient points:
If we translate these points into current politics, they are clearly applicable. The Democrats were triggered by Palin because they fear losing and that fear runs deep. The bogeymen that frighten us the most come from a primitive level; they stir a sense of childish helplessness. But your mature self, like Obama’s campaign organization, is coherent and knows how to carry out its purpose. Realize that American politics has been dominated by shadow issues for decades, so it’s only natural they still have claws and teeth. But their game has gotten old and tired. If you are able to see past the appeal to fear and resentment, have trust that other people can, too.
The bottom line is that the 2008 election isn’t about change versus experience or a noble candidate who may lose to one who plays dirty. This election is about consciousness. Since the Reagan revolution, consciousness has been sleepy and dull in politics; ideals have been tarnished by cynicism; inner decay has sapped the party in power of its original purpose, leaving only a pointless morass of defensiveness that expresses itself in negativity. If the majority of the electorate wakes up and feels inspired to turn the page, that will happen. Obama has sounded the call; few people missed the message. Now it’s a matter of dealing with a phase of fear and resistance before we discover if stuck consciousness is ready to move ahead.
