Ones a person becomes Soul conscious -then, one will become part of the Sun dinasty and one will also be able to enter easily in to the golden -age - the time to meet God face to face and have a personal relatioship with God through meditation. So that, one will become knowlageble and enlighted and ones intellect changes, and then, one becomes pure and glowing with Godlikeness. For when you remember God at least 6 times a day through thought, prayer and or TM (trancendental meditation) -then you have a real relationship with God- and God donot want someone just to acknowledge him, but also to remember him God -the father =God our Father.

Caring for people with arthritis and caring for yourself.

Aspirin or ibuprofen can give one irritation and/or heartburn.

Encorage others to become active.

Gentle exercises, and activities such as meditation and or Yoga can help to reduce the effects of arthritis. Follow the care plan instructions of your health care provider carefully, and don't forget to use canes or other walking aids as needed.

Oxford Maine Women for Obama Rally for Change

To kick off Women and the Economy Week, Maine Women for Obama and the Oxford County Dems held a rally in Bethel.

As they set up in the Gazebo on the common, no one knew what kind of a crowd to expect. Bethel is, after all, a small town and it was a sleepy weekday afternoon.

However Oxford County women knew the rally couldn't be missed and the crowd started pouring in.

Maine Women for Obama and the Oxford County Dems soon realized they had well over 100 supporters in attendance—mothers, grandmothers, wives, sisters, and daughters—rallying for Obama.

After her speech, Mary Herman, co-chair for the Maine Women for Obama group, urged everyone from great-grandmothers to the the youngest children out supporting their "Obama Mamas" to do everything they can to keep Maine blue this November.

Maine Women for Obama gathered today at the Pepperclub Restaurant in Portland for a kick off event with Maine Senate Majority Leader Libby Mitchell and Senate President Beth Edmonds.

“Women can make the difference in this election,” said Senate Majority Leader Libby Mitchell. “Barack Obama and Joe Biden will deliver real solutions to the challenges affecting women and families. They will work to ensure that every working woman can earn a livable wage, protect the right to choose, expand the childcare tax credit, and invest in our children’s education. Those are the kind of common-sense policies that have been missing for the last eight years and that will greatly improve the everyday lives of Maine women and their families.”

The event topped off the Campaign for Change's Women’s Week of Action where women across Maine got involved to register voters, hold women-to-women phone banks, and knock on doors.

“I am very excited to be mobilizing Maine women to work toward ensuring an Obama-Biden victory on November 4th,” said Mary Herman, co-Chair of the group. “There are countless ways for women of all ages to get involved, including our Women-to-Women phone banks on Tuesday nights all across the state. Tonight, the 88th anniversary of women earning the right to vote, Hillary Clinton will be speaking at the convention. Meet Betty Johnson, one of Senator Clinton's delegates:

Betty Johnson of Lincolnville has traveled to the Democratic National Convention as a Hillary Clinton delegate for Maine. Mrs. Johnson is a retired nurse and small business owner who runs an educational toy store in Belfast. She became active in Democratic politics in 1992, and has been active in Waldo County and Maine State politics. She has six children and five grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. A longtime supporter of President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton, Mrs. Johnson will work hard to elect Barack Obama as President.

“This is an historic Convention and campaign, and I am so grateful to be a part of it,” said Mrs. Johnson. “Here in Denver, there is a huge amount of energy and enthusiasm for our nominee, Barack Obama. He understands the challenges Mainers face and is offering the change that we need on issues like health care, social security, and the cost of energy. I will do everything I can to elect Barack Obama and the rest of our candidates this November.”

Eastern Europe- Pay Attention!-KOSOVO

I hope Obama will be smart enough to bring Wesley Clark, Madeleine Albright, Jimmy Carter and others into his foreign affairs circle of advisors. in 1999 we bombed Kosovo and Serbia and walked away without a peace settlement. Nine years later, both countries are isolated and manipulated by outsiders- Russia is making inroads into all of E.Europe unimpeded, using Kosovo as a leverage point. Kosovo is devoted to the US, and has refused help from muslim extremists to push back. They do NOT have independence, the UN 9 year term has created corruption, human trafficking, poverty, unemployment, no electricity, occassional water, no hospital care, no decent schooling and does not even call Kosovars "citizens."

If this neglect continues, this is a Palestine waiting to happen. Obama did not stop in E. Europe-a big mistake.

I hope he will learn from others who know the area's problems well.

New Yorker Cover: WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR!!!

I couldn't believe what is on the cover of The New Yorker. I usually look forward to the funny and often deeply satirical cover art, but this one shocked and outraged me.

The cover shows Obama in a turban and traditional Muslim garb and his wife Michelle dressed in fatigues--rocking an afro and combat boots--and packing an assault rifle. They are giving one another a congratulatory "fist-bump." There is a portrait of Osama Bin Laden above the fireplace where the American flag is burning. Oh, and by the way, the room they're standing in... it's the Oval Office!

Now I know that The New Yorker is known for cartoons that people either "get" or "don't get"...

But I have to say, "I don't get it!"

Could someone please explain the joke to me?

The New Yorker described Barry Blitt's work as lampooning of "scare tactics and misinformation in the Presidential election to derail Barack Obama's campaign."

"The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Senator Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create," Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said.

"But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree," Burton added.

Cartoonist Barry Blitt defended his work, saying this:

I think the idea that the Obamas are branded as unpatriotic [let alone as terrorists] in certain sectors is preposterous. It seemed to me that depicting the concept would show it as the fear-mongering ridiculousness that it is.

Although this may be the intention, the damaging impact of reinforcing rumors of the "Manchurian Candidate" variety by depicting imagery like this in the American popular media cannot be underestimated.

Throughout America, it is still widely believed that Barack Obama is a Muslim--and many readers may not realize that the cover is meant to be satirical. In its attempt to point out the obvious--that Obama is NOT a terrorist or Muslim or Black Power/"kill whitey" candidate--it may unfortunately have the opposite effect.

I'm not including the cover image here because I don't want to proliferate it unnecessarily, but I would like to encourage you to write a letter to the editor of the New Yorker to express your outrage at this racist, divisive, offensive and generally unfunny cover art.

East Coast Bloggers Needed!!

I've invited bloggers to commit to writing one post per week about Obama for the next 10 weeks. This will take us through the convention in Denver. Our guidelines are simply that the posts are positive and honest. The movement is building: already 25+ bloggers signed up, so that's at least 250 posts over the next 10 weeks, and more folks sign on everyday!

We want to get at least one person from every state involved with spreading this positive message over the web... so we need you!

Especially if you are already an active blogger, it doesn't take any extra effort. and your blog will probably get more traffic, since I'll be linking all the bloggers and promoting the event. Join me in Philadelphia for the Women for Obama Weekend!

WOMEN FOR OBAMA WEEKEND IN PA
Saturday & Sunday, April 12 & 13
Philadelphia, PA

THE EVENT:
A large-scale, high-visibility Women for Obama event coordinated by the National WFO team to bring together thousands of in-state and out-of-state women of all ages to support the campaign in Pennsylvania.

SCHEDULE:
The weekend will kick off with a pre-canvass rally Saturday morning (around 10:00 AM - speakers and exact location TBD). Saturday afternoon will be dedicated to canvassing and special women-focused voter outreach activities. For supporters who can stay on, canvassing and voter outreach activities will continue through Sunday afternoon.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATION:
The national WFO team is providing basic coordination to determine how many supporters will be traveling from out-of-state and who will need overnight lodging. If you're planning to travel from NH or nearby locations, please fill out both the national form and the NH form so we can coordinate transportation needs locally. It only takes a minute to fill out the forms online.

TRANSPORTATION:
We will charter a bus (or two) if enough NH WFO plan to go. We can also arrange for van transportation for a smaller number, or coordinate ride sharing. If we have enough volunteers to charter a bus, the preliminary plan is for buses to depart from a central NH location on Friday afternoon for a late arrival in PA, and depart mid-day Sunday for an evening arrival in NH.

LODGING:
No-cost volunteer housing will be very limited, but the national team is working on getting reduced rate hotel rooms for volunteers who will be staying Friday and/or Saturday night.

BRING YOUR MENFOLK!
While the WFO weekend offers special opportunities to connect with other Women for Obama and women-focused voter outreach activities, out-of-state volunteers are urgently needed in the Philadelphia region to support field operations in the run up to the PA GOTV. So bring along your mothers, daughters, sisters and friends -- as well as your fathers, partners, brothers, and sons!

LET'S GO, NH!
CT, MA, NY, & NJ are planning to send a total of 800-1000 women supporters to PA for the weekend -- let's make NH a part of this special event. Please share this information with Obama supporters in your personal network -- the goal is to sign up enough volunteers to send a busload or two of NH WFO to Philadelphia. Yes We Can, NH: Seacoast for Obama Grassroots Network

Seacoast area Obama supporters are standing for change by organizing and coordinating volunteers who want to support the campaign in other states.

Our active grassroots network is open to supporters throughout New Hampshire and Southern Maine. We organize coordinating meetings and visibility activities, schedule group phone banks and other voter outreach events, and collect and distribute information and resources for volunteers interested in travel and non-travel options for supporting the campaign in out-of-state primary races. We also keep in touch with Obama '08 staff to assure that the efforts of local volunteers match the needs of the ground campaign. We are currently coordinating volunteers who are planning to travel from NH to Pennsylvania to participate in voter outreach and GOTV activities across the state.

The Seacoast for Obama Grassroots Network also distributes an email bulletin providing news and updates about volunteer opportunities and local Obama events. The bulletin is published one or more times a week.
