Far Left Disappointment: Change! Yes We Can

I am a devout Democrat even though I did vote for Reagan. The change that most of us worked for was to get the interest of the people to be put ahead of the interests of their institutions. We want something different - we want policies that encourage if not regulate this.

The administration is losing support in the healthcare debate because they just don't get a very simple fact: American's with insurance have been held hostage to the profit motives and unfair practices of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries for years - we don't trust them and we really don't want a solution that rewards them! I believe we would accept direct providers making a profit but to have what is basically an "adminstrative entity" operating for profit in the middle of the delivery chain is not acceptable.

We don't want Legislative games! We would have much preferred having every solution put to a yes or no vote before congress than the apathy inducing process we have watched where despite popular support we have scene myriad interests intervene in process to create change in appearance only.

As we look to 2010, I say it is time we throw out all incumbants and put new bodies in those seats. What we will get with such massive turnover will be chaos - but that will be much better than this Congress that has become too smart at playing games. Besides, think of the savings to lobbyists because they can start paying off our politicians at a much lower level.

DRUG LIMITS LETTER TO SENATORS

Dear Senator ___________,

While I do not live in your state I feel my request will benefit all Americans.

First of all I want to thank you for all you are doing in the fight to get Health Care Reform passed this year. I commend you for being one of the US Senators fighting for health care reform and to bring to reality the late Senator Ted Kennedy's lifetime work that health care be a right for all Americans and not a privilege for a few.

I am writing you with the hopes that after you hear my story there may be someone on the Democrat side that will ask for an amendment to the Health Care Bill now being debated on the Senate floor. I feel an amendment to control the increases in drug costs that a pharmaceutical companies are allowed should be part of the bill. If not an amendment than some wording interjected to address the issue of rising drug costs that are obscene and boarder lining on criminal.

This past August my husband, Art, was diagnosed with cancer. Rather than getting chemo treatments my husband is going through Radiation and takes a cancer fighting drug called Nexavar. The first 2 months my husbands monthly statement listed Nexavar at $3200 for a one month supply. In October the cost went up to $4300 for a month supply and the most recent statement shows it now costs $6722 for a month supply without insurance.

While my husbands Medicare & Medicaid cover this pill 100%, I worry about the millions of people who this pill may may work for that are not insured, under insured or worse yet, have fallen into the dreaded donut hole. This pill works, in 2 months it totally removed the cancer mass my husband had on his right lung. I would hate to think there is a pill that cures lung cancer yet many will be deprived of taking it due to the cost. While my husband is special to me he is not that special that only he should have quality health care. I want all Americans to have what my husband has, the peace of mind in knowing if they get sick they are covered.

I hope after reading this, you or someone will ask for an amendment to control the increases a pharmaceutical company can be allowed. If not an amendment, at least an insert to the bill being debated addressing the issue. The increases I have seen over the last 3 months on my husbands monthly statement are obscene and are near close to criminal. I would even be so bold as to call it usury.

Iran's Nuclear Issue: A Win Win Solution

Let’s have our cake and eat it too. Iran says it wants part of the Iranian enriched uranium to be exchanged on its soil and others say it should be exchanged outside Iran. There is a win win solution which could satisfy all parties and that is to exchange uranium on Iranian soil but in a newly created 9-party diplomatic zone. That diplomatic zone (9DZ) will consist of representatives from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the 5+1 (US, UK, France, China, Russia + Germany) Countries as well as Japan and Turkey. In order to achieve this solution Iran would ship part of its enriched uranium to that 9-party DZ. Then those responsible for supplying the 20% enriched uranium to be used in Iran’s medical research site would ship that 20% uranium to that 9DZ and exchange it with Iran’s enriched uranium which is already in that zone. At the same time as the 20% would be leaving that Diplomatic Zone to be imported to Iran, Iran’s enriched uranium will leave that DZ and would be sent overseas. So we will have the best of both worlds: 1-Technically that part of the Iranian enriched uranium leaves Iran and enters the 9-party diplomatic zone; 2-Meanwhile it is still on the Iranian soil; the uranium will be exchanged both internationally due to the diplomatic zone and on Iranian soil so all parties will be satisfied.

I wanted to let you know that I'm co-hosting an event through the Jacksonville MoveOn.org Council with Jackie Mathis called the "Cost of Delay Candle Light Vigil" to recognize the thousands of medically related bankruptcies filed by Americans everyday.

We are meeting this Tuesday, December 8th at 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the corner of Union and Main Streets in the open lot between State and Union.

BYOCC (Bring Your Own Candles and a Can of Food) and feel free to wear any appropriate message shirts. We will provide signs to hold up and a bull horn, but your own posters are welcome :o) Remember to have something to carry your candle in so you don't get burned. The canned goods will go to the Second Harvest food bank since nobody should have to choose between buying food and taking their medicine.

If you have a healthcare horror story that you'd like to share please let us know. We want people to talk about their experiences at the Vigil since personal stories have so much power--but everyone will be asked to keep their talk between 3 to 5 minutes for fairness and message crispness.

As a women vet, I seldom get a thank you and it is a first from any elected official for me after over thirty years! I didn't know how much I wanted to hear it! I printed my letter to keep, it meant so much to me. I pray daily for our President and troops and my career was dedicated to them. It is nice to be thanked and thought of when you served at a time you weren't appreciated. Don't want to sound whiney cause I was proud to serve my country but the letter brought a tear to the old tired eyes of this old WAC!

DOES HAVING THE AUDACITY TO REFORM HEALTH CARE WARRANT DISRESPECT FOR OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA? For the first time in the history of our great nation we have a President, who not only has the audacity to reform health care, but has gotten further than any other past President.

While President Barack Obama and his supporters work in ernest to get a bill signed into law before the end of the year, those who oppose health care reform have also progressed with their agenda. Their agenda seems to include disrespect for the office of the President of the United States of America. Everywhere you look these days from the media, to talk show hosts to people in opposing parties, even among our elected officials, there is excessive disrespect for our President. You'll hear the President referred to as Barak, as Obama, as Mr Obama but not what it should be. President Barack Obama.

I am 61 years old, I have been through several Presidents and I do not recall a past President shown such disrespect. President Obama himself refers to past Presidents as President or former President. He shows respect for former Presidents and he deserve the same in return.

This is a two party country and we all will never agree on everything. We certainly are seeing that as we fight our way to health care reform. There is one thing we all should and must agree on, the office of the President of the United States of America deserves nothing less than respect.

So my fellow Americans, I ask you to please remember, it's President Barack Obama. The President who has the audacity to reform our health care system.

It has been clear from the onset that your party has decided to "kill the bill" no matter who suffers.

While it may be true you have nothing to loose by opposing HCR because you are a temporary Senator until the 2010 election decides who the next Senator from Florida will be, you have much to gain by supporting it.

In supporting HRC you can leave an lasting mark that you helped millions of Americans.

As one of the 46 million Americans without Health Care and has a pre-existing condition I feel I must make one last attempt and appeal to your human side.

I have to ask how you can justify the death of 44,000 Americans due to lack of health care or being under insured. That number will only increase unless HCR is passed. I also have to ask how you justify the fact that 46 millions Americans lack Health Care. Another number sure to increase without HCR.

My last question is why do you oppose the very Health Care you have as a US Senator for millions of Americans?

I hope before you cast your vote tomorrow you keep all that's at stake in mind and vote "yes" to getting the Senate HC Bill to the floor for debate and that you vote "yes" when it is time to vote of the final bill.

It is really amazing how indifferent the international media and human rights organizations are to atrocities against helpless human beings done by Saudi Arabia and Yemen in Northern Yemen. These two countries have made close to 200,000 civilians homeless and all of them are forced to migrate. And Saudi Arabian Government with the help of their Yemeni counterparts are killing and injuring thousands more over there. WHY? Due to the sad fact these Houthis are a helpless & poor minority in Northern Yemen. Is there a difference between North Yemeni Genocides and those done by Hitler and Serbs in Europe and racists extremists in Rwanda? Certainly not but perhaps lack of interest by some countries would prevent them from stopping these outrageous atrocities against humanity. Lately Saudis have outdone themselves by dropping phosphorus bombs on civilians. Is there a difference between these cruel acts and those done by 911 terrorists? Certainly NOT! In both cases: 1-atrocities were done against innocent human beings; 2- They were not provoked by those innocent civilians; 3-and mostly Saudis and some Yemenis are involved; 4-these heinous acts were conducted by citizens of countries who call themselves allies of the US, with friends like these who needs enemies! 5-Not even one Shia or Iranian is involved in these types of aggressive and monstrous acts and those people are wrongfully branded enemies of the US?! Really with friendly and harmless foes like these who needs those types of hostile and harmful allies? Really which one is which? I am really confused now!

A Chance For Peace

I wonder if anyone wonders how God feels? How painful it must be to watch His children fight each other over territory, beliefs, wealth and other material items. If we are all a part of God or a higher power, some energy source which creates and has the capacity of a love we humans cannot comprehend and I believe we are all a part of something much larger than ourselves, I can only imagine the agony He must feel. War, like cancer, is a disease and it seems we do nothing but feed it. We can build machines to destroy each other but we can't seem to help the starving and the truly needy. We spend billions of dollars to send people and objects into space but we cannot seem to take care of the human race. Have we lost the ability to truly communicate with one another? Why are our priorities aimed toward destruction instead of taking care of one another? All this energy wasted on such negative objectives, which have very little chance for positive outcome if we don't do something to save ourselves. Like feeding the hungry, offering free health care and creating a sense of compassion felt throughout the world. Even if the belief system is taken out of the equation, for the atheists and agnostics out there, shouldn't it still be common sense to take care of our own? Would you let your children or even your animals for that matter live in the horrible conditions some humans are subjected to? I know I wouldn't. I would do everything in my power to not only help my own family; I feel it would be second nature to help our neighbors as well. It feels as though we are racing towards something and I'm afraid it's our extinction. As long as we abuse the planet the way we do and let apathy be our guide, we are all one huge train wreck waiting to happen.

Since it is not proper for presidential candidates to blame others , I will say that Hollywood destroyed Vice President candidate Sarah Palin to exploit women and she was not allowed to be herself!

HEALTH CARE REFORM AND HOW OUR LEGISLATORS HAVE VOTED AND WILL VOTE As I sit here, I can't help but wonder how so many of our US Congress Men and Women can face the people in their districts after voting No this past Saturday for Health Care Reform. I also wonder how they can face themselves by having voted NO for Health Care Reform this past Saturday.

To all to all those who voted yes, I say "Thank You" and I will show my thanks come the next elections. I commend Speaker Pelosi for her leadership and her determination in getting the House bill passed. A special thanks to you, Madam Speaker!

To those who voted no, I have just a few questions. How do you justify the loss of 44,000 lives lost each year due to lack of health care or being under insured? How do you justify that number increasing if we do not get Health Care Reform passed this year? How do you justify 46 million people uninsured and having that number increasing if we do not get health care reform passed this year? My last question to those who voted NO this past Saturday. Will you be willing to give up your Health Care? The health Care you received the very first day of your job, the health care mostly paid by the US taxpayers? Will you be will to go out on your own and try to purchase Health Care without having all the benefits you now get? Somehow, I think I know the answer.

I find it very sad and shameful that so many of our elected officials feel all Americans are not worthy of Health Care as a basic right. I can only hope and pray for those so against health care reform that they will see the light and vote yes and get Health Care Reform passed for all Americans in 2009.

The assault on women's reproductive rights continues with a vengeance. As Congress struggled to pass health care reform to improve the lives of America's families, anti-choice forces took advantage of the situation to mount yet another assault on abortion. They were willing to sacrifice health care reform -- even though millions of people would now be able to receive coverage, even though the bill would finally begin to lower health care costs, even though lives would be saved -- to enact anti-abortion provisions to take away reproductive rights from millions of women.

The effect of the Stupak/Pitts Amendment would be to deny the millions of women who get covered through the exchanges access to comprehensive reproductive health care that includes abortion services. These women would be denied coverage available today in private health plans. The Amendment effectively bans private insurance companies that participate in insurance exchanges from providing coverage of abortion. It tries to camouflage the impact by providing an "abortion rider" that women could choose to pay extra for to cover costs if they have an abortion.

How gullible do they think we are? Women don't expect to have an unintended pregnancy or a dangerous pregnancy that jeopardizes their health. And few if any insurance plans would actually choose to provide such a rider. Five states now have provisions to provide abortion riders. But folks have been trying to find a plan that actually provides one -- and they're still looking.

Make no mistake about it: the Stupak Amendment will deny millions of women access to safe, affordable reproductive health care. It puts an expensive price tag on women's ability to act on their reproductive rights. This outrageous provision must be stricken from the legislation before health care reform becomes law.

In 2008 the country elected a pro-choice Congress and a pro-choice President. The President has repeatedly told the country that health care reform would not take away benefits from those who currently have insurance. Now it's up to the President and the Congress to make certain that women do not lose their benefits or rights as a result of health care reform. There's no point in passing a health care reform bill that makes women less healthy, less safe and less able to exercise their constitutional rights

Months ago I commented: OFA needs to start sending the message that what was started with Barack Obama's election must be continued - his election was not a silver bullet where with one perfect shot he would fix politics. EVERY election is important and has consequences.

I also commented that I was very upset with the new tactic by those who want to discourage Barack Obama's supporters e.g. supporting the fringe and tea-partyers with lies and exageration to activate their base to come out for the midterm elections. The prediction is for this midterm to be like other midterms e.g. only the disgruntled participate.

I hear people are getting discouraged because nine months have passed and President Obama has not brought the change he promised. Remember he said: change is about us not him. Look at how he has been treated by members of both his party and the opposition. Lobbying money is stronger than anything we have except our numbers. We can't help him if we do not vote to support him every chance we get. This is how we create change! Without us he has little power to accomplish anything on his own. In Congress both members of our party and the other party must know we support him and will turn out for him when asked.

Now I sit at home waiting for tomorrow night when I expect to hear how President Obama's election was a fluck because the change he brings is not the change WE wanted and this is why his support is falling. Tomorrow's win by Republican's mascarading as Conservatives will embolden them to work even harder against him and any change he may attempt.

I also hate being misused by the Democratic Party! We are bombarded with emails for support and solicitation constantly. We should be treated as an asset that can be exhausted and used when we are really needed which is exactly the same concept we are trying to communicate about our troops and war.

Its too late to ask you to go vote with me tomorrow but I ask you to not let another election go by without going to the polls.

This final days of the 2008 Presidential Campaign was a turning point for me. I am a boomer, meaning I was around, very loudly I might add, in the 60's. I marched for peace, I protested against the Viet Nam War, I marched for racial and women's equality. I had to live through the tragic deaths of JFK, RFK and Dr. King. I had the honor of attending the funeral of JFK even though it was an event I wish did not have to happen. The were masses of people at the funeral of JFK. There were even more at Inauguration of President Obama. It was a celebration. It took 50 long years for this event to become possible and I was elated to have it happen in my lifetime. While the 50 years were a long time to wait, there were at last epic results. I place the importance of President Obama's inauguration right up there with my husband and my family. I am grateful to everyone who joined me in supporting and getting Barack Obama elected as our 44th President of the United States of America. Thank You President Obama, God Bless You and God Bless the United States of America

We have more than 500 victims daily being tortured and abused by remotely directed energy weapons. But we remain resolute and most of us work diligently to expose this crime on the Internet, and won't stop reporting this heinous to the Chinese government.

In China, as in the rest of the world, the official police position is that Targeted Individuals are mentally ill, so we cannot get permits to do street protests.
However, we did promote the global protest via the Internet. We got nearly one hundred Targeted Individuals to publish the IAACEA press release on their own websites, along with the list of protest locations, and to send many letters to public.

Thought the protest went well. Weather wasn't the greatest. Kind of nervous with all the cops and undercover cops around. Ate alot of the chips and drank sodas I bought by a great donation from Cynthia. There were lots of tourists that stopped by and took pictires of the White House and us.

Enjoyed talking to other TIs about their situation. Learning alot from other TIs about how to cope and different remedies to use to uplift myself.. Many of the TIs were form NY. We spoke to a freelance writer who took notes and took our pictures. We spoke with other human rights groups that were nearby. Handed out fliers.

Yesterday, Wednesday, October 14, 2009, from 11:00am to 2:00pm, there was a civil protest against OS/EH at city hall in San Francisco, California, one of several being planned on or about that same day in several cities around the world, including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Cincinnati (meeting only), Victoria and Toronto in Canada, London, India (internet mailings) and China (internet mailings), as part of a global day of protest being organized by a newly formed TI activism group called the International Alliance Against Covert Electronic Abuse, www.iaacea.org. Debbie Newhook and Galina Kurdina in Canada, Soleilmavis in China and Derrick Robinson of FFCHS were some of the planners.

Christine Harris in SF was the contact person for the San Francisco protest, with Mesha Monge-Irizarry being a resource having had experience in protesting.
Mesha is a non-TI activist Christine recently began networking with who among other things setup and moderated a forum to help organize the global protest.
She has an office in San Francisco and apparently moderates 250 internet forums, one of them being the recently created Targeted_Individual s yahoo group. She is considering holding TI meetings at her office in San Francisco.

A possibility of rain was forecast but the weather was clear and mostly sunny. I counted 16 protesters being present, including Christine, Richard in Marin, many other TIs who I've met before, a few I hadn't met yet, Mesha, and Marlon Crump,writer for Poor Magazine who Christine has recently began networking with. Most had arrived within the first half hour of the 11:00am protest start time.

We originally planned to protest at the park across the street from city hall,to be respectful of city hall workers, but a police officer came by and said we needed a permit to protest in a public park, though he said this first time he'd allow it. He also indicated we could protest directly in front of city hall if we liked, so we moved our protest to the sidewalk in front of city hall.

There was a plethora of protest signs of various sizes, colors and styles: "stop group stakling," "stop organized stalking," "stop organized terror," "stop covert torture," "stop electronic harassment," "stop electronic torture," "stop electromagnetic weapons," "stop defamation of character now," "restore human liberties now," "stop residential directed energy attacks now IAACEA," "unforgivable! MKULTRA should never happen again," and "my family is victim of mind control program illegally run by the US gov agencies. Torture, mental rape, robbery -- the outcome of the Nazi experiment." Also I brought buttons with the FFCHS logo for us to wear.

The mood was positive if not festive, with us talking amongst ourselves, getting to know each other. Some of us had come from as far away as Modesto and Fresno,and for at least one of us this was our first time meeting with other TIs.

Foot traffic was light, even during the lunch hour, with some passers-by looking to see what our signs said. A few spoke with us to try to understand what we were protesting. Due to the relatively light foot traffic and us not being very aggressive at distributing handouts, we didn't distribute all that many.
Handouts included one of the IAACEA press releases announcing the global protest, a letter from Missouri State Representative Jim Guest acknowledging the existence of OS/EH on many of the constituents in the country, a flyer on the book "A New Breed: Satellite Terrorism in America" by Dr. John Hall, who has treated patients suffering from the effects of OS/EH, a copy of an article entitled "Is the NSA Conducting Electronic Warfare On Americans?" regarding former NSA intelligence officer Russ Tice and the NSA's purported mind control technology, and a compilation of excerpts from Cheryl Welsh, FFCHS and H.Michael Sweeney.

Vehicular traffic on the other hand was ongoing, and heavier during the lunch hour. Some of us were lined along the edge of the sidewalk displaying our signs -- several drivers honked their horns and gave us the "thumbs up" in support!

At one point a reporter and cameraperson for an independent San Francisco internet video news group came by and did a brief interview with Christine and Mesha -- everybody felt they did a great job! Later on a CBS van parked across the street to cover a different event and Christine went over and gave them some handouts.

I spoke with several TIs at the protest. Christine says she is doing what she can to network to help end our harassment, a TI from Fresno says he is educating some of the people in Fresno on OS/EH, and another said God's message of love is the most important tool in counteracting our harassment. Marlon wanted everyone to know about his new, second, article on OS/EH, entitled "Targeted Individuals.

In my opinion the protest was certainly successful in terms of turnout -- this has been the largest turnout for any TI event in the San Francisco Bay Area I'm aware of and slightly exceed my expectations! Most of us stayed there until the 2:00pm protest end time, shortly after which we disbanded. I and at least a couple of others who were present took pictures of the event and I will be forwarding mine to Felix, a TI who plans to make a video of the global protests.
President Obama was to be visiting San Francisco the following day and Christine along with some of yesterday's protesters planned to be present to gain more exposure.

Reports of some of the protests in the other locations have been posted. Debbie declared her protest a success in Victoria, Canada -- there were 5 TIs present -- they handed out about 400 flyers and were interviewed by a local university student -- later on heavy rainfall brought an end to their protest. There were 5 TIs present at Galina protest in Toronto, Canada -- they spoke with several people, some sympathetic, and handed out a few flyers -- after the main protest had ended and they had some coffee they decided to do a second impromptu protest at another location. An early report from London, England, indicated 5 TIs were present but more were expected. The Philadelphia protest apparently only had one protester show up, but none-the-less the protester remained and handed out flyers! The LA protest was postponed to next week due to a heavy storm and flooding. Judy and I went to the Obama protest last night [Oct. 15th] at 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Powell Street and Geary Street, with over 1000 people. I brought my huge sign, and Russell Tice FBI fliers, and had many inquiries, and victims stopping to talk with us.

With the support of Judy, two reporters from cable channels 13, and 26, which may have been on T.V. last night at 10:00 P.M. stopped to interview me. I was brief, but stated our plight.

We were a "crowd" of about 20 TIs & Allies with signs brought by Bruno, Richard,a Black Brother who came from Fresno (name?), Christine, the Kats Family, Judy ... Who am I forgetting? Among us, a Black Sister who is a college professor in Political Science in Oakland, accompanied by a Latina and a white woman TIs.
Also was present a San Franciscan woman, former nurse who blew the whistle on her medical unit at PMC, when she saw several patients with electrodes in their brain, and realized from their encephalograms that something terribly wrong was being done to them... she disconnected everything, and the electronic torture started, did not let up for over a decade. At first the cops, then the sheriffs tried the intimidating routine by demanding to see a permit, but when told:

"we are not blocking traffic, we are only exercizing our right to peaceful assembly, this is a peaceful demonstration", they did not know what else to do.

Then when they approached us again, twice, I gave them a big smile, told them I was a City Commissioner and asked: "Are you going to keep us safe, Officers?" which was sufficient to make them instantly go away after exclaiming "Of course!!" One sheriff, astoundingly, raised a timid fist and quickly told us GO GET "EM" as he walked away with his colleagues (Refreshing! A TI cop ?)
Christine, Richard, the Kats Family, Carole, Judy, John, Yolanda, Carol , Bruno, Marlon, educated onlookers and passed on flyers (forgive this fried brain for omissions... ), and Bruno passed out Buttons. SF Based Tom MCray, TI and political writer, and a homeless person soon joined us. I talked to a colleague,a Veteran for Peace, published poet, who actually wore many political buttons, among them one on Covert Surveillance:

Robert W., who is the acclaimed Honorary chief of the Native Nation, although he is white, due to his incredible activism for Natives and Aborigines and tireless fight to ban School of the Americas and ROTC. He happened to just be waiting for a friend on City Hall steps, and enthusiastically interacted with us.

Robert stated: "We are ALL targeted !". I will stay in touch, potential powerful ally for us. I talked about the protest and IAACEA Goals & Objectives as defined in Debbie's pres release to Sophie Maxwell, City supervisor of my district, and to a campaign team member of James Keys, District 6 Supervisor candidate. Many participants actively engaged passerby's, including an Asian Gay Youth who now wants to be an ally to our movement. No negative interaction whatsoever! (To the sorry exception of a perplike loser... older white dude in a SUV who sped by, hollering: "Go get a job!" Which made us laugh.... Comic relief of the day) One press interview with Christine who handed out a press package and with myself.
Christine connected with the City Hall Court TV Media Liaison, and participants took many pictures and videos of our event.

...Marlon C. from Poor Magazine PPN came to interview participants, stayed with us during the entire event, and will work on his third article on "Targeted Individuals" that he will submit to his editor, the formidable "Tiny" Gray Garcia ! Christine and I will work on an article , recount that we will self publish on Indybay along with a compilation of pictures, under Health isues (Covert Violence IS a Public Health issue !)

TORONTO CANADA Report

We protested in front of the Legislative Assembly Building and near Medical Science Building of University of Toronto today. We started at 10.30 A.M. There were 5 people in front of the Legislative Assembly: Robin Yan, Regan Hallett, Carlo Calandra, Mark Holden and I, Galina Kurdina. People approached us and we distributed about 10 fliers. One woman came to us and started a scandal. She offered us to hire people, pay them and ask to hold our posters on streets of Toronto. She suggested us not to appear ourselves on the streets. She persuaded us that we had to put some soft information on our posters, not the truth that we experienced and described. When asked, what soft things she would advice to write on our posters, she did not answer. She asked Robin, what was the reason of his targeting. It was clear for all of us that she worked for police, or RCMP or Government. Robin took his camera and wanted to take pictures of her, and she immedieately disappeared...

We left Legislative Building about 1.30 P.M. Robin, Regan and I went to Tim Horton and had some coffee. After that we decided to go to any street and came to Medical Science Building of University of Toronto. Regan left us 30 minutes [later], Robin and I stayed there for one hour.

We distributed our fliers very quickly, people approached us, read our poster about mind control and took fliers. One student of UofT, sweet boy, said to us that, in his opinion, these experiments were disgusting, another person wished us to continue our struggle.

We made pictures and video records. I will send them to all of you, as soon as get them.

Many of you do not know me, but Galina and Robin do (who ran the protest yesterday at Queen's Park do) and I will save introductions for later for those who are dedicated to working to expose the truth about our cause.

I would like to send you all a little run-down of events yesterday -- I think Galina and Robin will agree, it was an excellent day with superb weather (my nose is totally toasted..LOL~ ) and we were treated with dignity and respect, a generous amount of interest (so much so that we RAN OUT OF letters), and a FEW VERY INTERESTING CONTACTS!All times are approximate. 10:00 AM We were greeted by Security and shown where we could set up. We were asked if we would be "chanting" and we said no. We were asked not to interfere with people on site and that we should let them come to us, we agreed.

We set up across from a woman on a month-long protest of her autistic son being cut off from therapy and put in a regular school. www.tooautistic. com (HEY! OUR PIC IS THERE!)

11:30 am, A HUGE tour of Italian and Spanish speaking tourists get stuck outside the legislative building for some reason, and (possibly to kill some time) the tour guide relays and translates in both ITALIAN and SPANISH, the story of Covert Mind control as dictated by Galina. The group is sympathetic and interested (until they get to go in..lol)

Nothing too interesting happens after that for a couple of hours, we get a
number of people stopping and asking about our situation -- some stopping for longer than others ... needless to say, we only have ONE letter left when we spot the CBC vehicle in the parking lot!

1:00 pm Media Trucks start arriving -- our hearts are in our throats as we feel as if they may intend to interview us! Acutally, the set up is for speaker Dan McTeague to present his speech on the treatment of Omar Kadhr at Guantanamo Bay!

2:30 Dan McTeague shows up to do his interview. About half an hour of talking on Dan's part -- the issue with Quantanamo Bay is loosely connected to OUR issue ... the underlying facts being that PEOPLE ARE BEING TORTURED WITHOUT MERCY/JUSTICE/ ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS!

Unfortunately, he only appeared on the news for about 10 seconds! (Robin, did you VHS it?)

Legislature Watchdogs (while polite) stood guard IN FRONT OF AND AROUND THE CAMERAS so that WE WOULD NOT BE IN ANY SHOTS!

However, Mr. McTeague's assistant came over to talk to us, took our picture and,I believe, strategically placed a camera to include US in the shot!

Once the shoot was over, Mr. McTeague came over and shook all our hands, talked with us for a bit, gave us his card and told us "You sure got THEIR attention"(possibly meaning the media - I mean, is it coincidence that a talk on a HUMAN RIGHTS TORTURE ISSUES by a prominent M.P. is scheduled on the SAME DAY as our protest? I think NOT!

Anyhow, he said we should contact him if we need anything...we already got a very good thing from him, we got a confidence boost like you wouldn't believe!

And so, our first protest day came to a close. Sunburned, but happy, we took a walk to the subway, and went on our way.

I would say it was a VERY successful day, no one was disrespectful to us, we got a good deal of attention, learned a lot about what to do better NEXT TIME -- and ALMOST got on TV ... lol!

Most of all we learned that FEAR is THEIR greatest weapon ... none of what we feared came about.

The perps will keep on doing what they do no matter what we do...being afraid only helps their cause so...we may as well make some noise 'cause they ain't going away by themselves.

I feel our Victoria protest was a success. We had 5 people present at the
protest: Keith Tickleback from Nelson BC, Consuelo Galomar from Vernon BC, David Smith from Grabriola, Heather Quinn from Victoria BC and me Debbie Newhook. We had one protester from Nanaimo, Doug (Jerry) Rose who could not make the protest as he reported he was feeling horrible the night before the protest and he did not think he would be able to make it.

As soon as we arrived at the protest location we were greeted by a University of Victoria student who wanted an interview with us. David and I spent 30 mins with her speaking about this crime. We gave her hand out material which included FFCHS material along with a Jim Guest letter of support. In addition we suggest that she research James Walbert and directed her to an article in Wired Magazine about James Walbert. She was genuinely interested and shocked at many of the details about this crime.

During the time David and I were being interviewed, the police arrived. Consuelo spoke to the friendly police officer and was told that the police got 2 telephone calls indicating that we were obstructing the sidewalk traffic. Upon his arrival he saw that we were only a small group and that we were not blocking the sidewalk traffic and asked that we continue to allow the flow of pedestrians and not to interfere with them.

Keith was our camera person and did take still pics only of the event and did capture a picture of the police as he was talking to Consuelo.

Later I was approached by woman who knew she was a target of this crime. She knew much about the goings on of the world and she expressed that she was a whistle blower. David and I could tell that she was genuine and she was fearful.I gave her my contact info.

We had many other people briefly speak to us about this crime and did take hand out material.The area of the protest was a very busy location in Victoria and we all thought it was a success.

After about 2.5 hours we had given away about 400 fliers and we were almost out of hand out material when the skies opened up and it began to rain very hard. We called it quits at that time and went back to Heathers house for a chat and a meal.

In my opinion, I thought this was good activism day. David and I later talked about doing this in Nanaimo at a later date and discussed the date of Dec 10 as it was the UN day of Human Rights. http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/

For all of you on the other side of the Atlantic who would like to know what happened at the Trafalgar Square protest. I received a voicemail from Winston at about 2pm London time, saying that at that point there were 5 people present at the protest, but that they were expecting a few more to attend later. I believe that besides Winston, John Allman and Amanda Palmer were there, as Winston used Amanda's mobile to ring me and John told me of his intention to attend the night before. If people [took] any picture of the event and feel able to share them, I really look forward to seeing them.

[Here's] a short message [Winston] sent me...

"There were 8 of us in the end - we handed out flyers in Trafalgar square and outside the Old Bailey. It was good to meet other T.I.s. We are going to try to set up regular meetings of T.I.s in London."

I may try to do something similar in London on the 24th at two very important events happening on the same day, the annual Anarchist Bookfair and a national Anti-War demo starting in Hyde Park, it will be actually very easy to leaflet there because there are already hundred of different people, leafleting on behalf of hundred different causes, I mean I will probably end up going there by myself, but I would certainly not mind if other London TIs were to decide to join me.

When duscussing with my students what President Obama should have as his priorities for the first one hundred days, I learned that historically we use undocumented labor for temporary jobs and conditions that Americans do not want.After the work or season is over when deport them. For example, after Katrina devestated New Orleans, undocumented labor rebuilt the city keeping home prices down and allowing us to afford homes. *mericans want steady jobs with minimum wage so they can keep their families in a rental home as construction workers usually can not have homes as it is often not a dependable paycheck. When undocumented workers wait at Lowes or Home Depot for jobs they work for less than minimum wage and are often not paid. They live together and can not affort an automobile to go to work as they do not get work steadily. These conditions are not tolerated by Americans but without taking jobs from Americans, undocumented workers provide cheap sporatic labor so we can afford homes and rebuild the coastal homes devastated by frequent storms. They said that politicans put carrot sticks to spanish speaking relatives of undocumented workers promising them relief from the working conditions we benefit from but take for granted because they broke a law. They problem is that is justice was done everyone who purchased homes built by undocumented workers who were mot paid minimum wage is an accomplice to two crimes which are hiring or an accomplise to contractors who hired undocumented workers and paying below minimum wage. Undocumented workers can place labor liens on almost all homes as we build homes cheaply using undocumented labor. So their crime is no more than our crime as it is a recripocal relationship and must be considered equally when Congress meets to determine the fate of undocumented workers. Our economy depend on cheap undocumented labor to help middle class people afford homes. Undocumented workers and Americans who hire them or benefit from their labor directly or indirectly are accomplices who are equally guilty for these recriprocal crimes. We can not look away and lie when we assert we are against undocumented workers because we continue to eat the food they harvest and buy and sell the homes they built. This atrocity is compounded by the historical significance of our abuse and holocost of American Indians for our benifit as if they were inferior and less deserving than "gringos"commiting these murders historically or current human rights violations. of American Indians,by pushing them from their ancestrial lands bydecendents of the colonial illegal immigrants who had guns and believed in their British, German,French and African American rights to occupy this country and anialiate our natives or drive them out of their land or confine them to reservations like cattle. I am submitting this letter in the hopes that after you read the information I am putting out there, those of in opposition will make a decision to support Health Care Reform with a robust & strong public option. Based on what I read in this article, what every member of Congress has is a public option, a government plan.

All I'm asking is for the same quality health care you all have and if you still can't commit to a public option then I will ask that you give up your Health Insurance. If you feel it's not in my best interest to have a public option then it should not be in your best interest. I see no reason that should you continue to have a health care plan that you so strongly disapprove of.

There has been a debate going on in Congress over Health Care Reform for the last 50 years.

Those on the left say 50 years is too long and the time for discussion is over and now it is time to act. And if we do not get Health Care Reform with a strong Public Option it could very well be your life or my life and thousands of lives.

Those on the right, and some in the center, say we can't rush something as important as Health Care Reform. Do I agree? No! We can't afford not to get Health Care Reform passed this year. It's not a matter of rushing into getting a bill on President Obama's desk by the end of the year. To me, 50 years of discussion is not rushing into anything. By most people's opinion, that's long enough. So to any elected official who feels they can not be rushed when it comes to Health Care Reform, I say to you ...... find yourself another job or I will help towards that other job come the elections of 2010.

As promised the language of friendship and dialogue has worked and will always work with Iranians

But the language of threats and sanctions will never work as was the cased during the past 30 years. Let’s do a review of events during the past three decades. Western and some Eastern powers supported the Sadam invasion of Iran, and as a result Iranians became more anti Western. They supported armed Terrorist groups such as MKO and Jundollah against the Iranian people and then Iranians grew more distant towards the West. Though sanctions were imposed against the Iranian people and as a result they became more economically independent. They tried to do a regime change in Iran and they did succeed… So the new US administration changed its approach towards Iran and they succeeded. So those Republican Extremists Conservatives who would want all of past mistakes to be repeated this US Administration:

1- Either do NOT know Iranians;

2- or never learn any thing from history;

3- or do NOT have the best strategic interests of the US in mind;

4- or just want to play dirty politics at any costs and make sure this administration does not succeed so they would have a chance in 2010 and 2012;

5- or since they have always failed in their dealings with Iran, they do NOT know any other way and they certainly DO NOT KNOW how to succeed.

However, this wise, calculating and visionary US President and his Administration know how to deal with others and they surely know how to succeed. GOD Bless you all & THANK YOU President Obama!

If Not the 2016, then 2020 Olympics in Chicago will be a GO

Some Republicans who know nothing but failures would like the US President to fail as well on every issue, even if it would mean a lack of success for the US as a whole. Their latest failure wish was for him NOT to go to Copenhagen to attempt a bid for 2016 Olympics in Chicago. The President went and Chicago did NOT win, but the US policy as a whole did win, why? Due to following reasons which are beyond some Republicans comprehension:

1- Although it was crucial for US, President Obama, the First Lady and all Americans to have Chicago host the 2016 Olympics, yet the US President did not use any bullying tactics with the Olympics Committee and the US Government did not throw its weight around during decision time. This Administration abided by FAIR PLAY rules of game and did not try to influence the come. An A for honesty.

2- President Obama was the first to congratulate the people of Brazil for such a first time accomplishment in South America. He mentioned that he was happy such and event was conducted in AMERICAS thus sharing common interests and participating in Brazilian people’s joy for this unprecedented event. At the same time he sincerely showed that the US really cares for others as well.

3- By doing so with such an important South American country the instrument of anti US propaganda is taken away from some people. Henceforth the US strategic interests are further secured in that very important part of the world.

4- The US has now a better chance of securing 2020 Olympics and could really count on the help of its 2016 host as well as many other Latin American countries.

5- By not securing the 2016 bid, this country could save about 10 Billion US$ in expenses for such an event. Such savings could be helpful during present economic times. Of course there could be Tourism income resulting from such an important event but as was the case in Australia, Athens and Montréal, where such incomes never materialized and expenses remained, one can never be too sure of the revenue!

However, international policy wise the US President & other Americans are winners again. So for the 2020 Olympics bid, the US President with his 2020 Policy vision will surely be the front runner.

Here we are.....here am, got milk, children , a little education in which not alot of us can afford, and a great interest in helping to make a change. I only hope it is for the betterment of my children and this country( I tend to be a bit selfish at times and other times I stay under the gun for being selfless).

My 11yr old daughter asked me a question about the social and political issue of child support. After sharing our thoughts on the matter, I encouraged her to find Mr. Presidents' e-mail and send her comments that way. I hope she finds the simple path of communication accessable, she is and has been put on an excellerated learning schedule.(not by me but by test results; however she is only 11.).

I look forward to being any part of chaning the lives in this country for the better.

Let’s see the glass 80% full and NOT 20% empty. Are all US allies 80% reliable or even 70%? Past 911 facts have proven that some so-called US Persian Gulf Allies are NOT even 30% allies. So having an 80% ally is very important in US war efforts against terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan. One can not have a 100% ally because each country has its own strategic interests and a 100% ally is called a puppet or a colony and not an ally. So having an 80% ally is very good. If the West does not threaten Iran and deal with that country on the basis of mutual respect, then one could really count on its help in the region. In the past 200 years Iran has not attacked another country and it does not intend to do so now or in the future. Yet it has defended its territorial integrity very well against foreign aggressions such as Sadam’s without yielding a square foot of its land and will do so again. So the choice is clear, either we continue accusing Iran of all sorts of exaggerated issues and use that country as an excuse to sell arms to a few 30% so called allies in the region and continue our half way efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq. Or we could count on Iran as a reliable and strong POTENTIAL NATO PARTNER or as a part of another Treaty Organization such as CENTO. In the case of such a strong partnership with Iran and when that country remains strong, then those 30% regional allies would be also be willing to buy more arms. I became a victim of remote mind control abuses and tortures since Dec 2001 when I was studying Master Degree in Australia.

Suddenly heard "voices" harass me even at midnights, and pain all over the body. It really scared me. I was totally confused and frightened.

On Jan 2002, I stared crying for God.

If one of your Fingers was hurt, you would pay all your attention to the hurt Finger. I was the hurt Finger of the God. God heard my crying, God came to me. When I was crying, God shed tears for me.

Pain in my body, Pain in God's heart. After seeing my terrible suffering for some days, God came to me and stay. God decided to experience the suffering what I was experiencing.

While I was suffering from the terrible abuses and tortures on the Earth. God had won the War in the Heavens. (Revelation 12-8) Because of the sins of Satan, Satan was hurled to the Earth. And his angels with him.

God taught me how to do. I asked torturers to drop down their weapons since the first time they started torturing me. I told them that God was patient and forgiving, If they could drop down their weapons, they would go to the Heaven. But they were so waywardness and complacency, they did not listen to me. They kept torturing me everyday.....

God told me that I was chosen by the God. God knew the terrible tortures on the Earth. and sent me to the earth for solving the problem.

On 7 Aug 2002, I prayed hard to the God. "Please tell me what I should do, please teach me how to do." "Please help me to open the Bible."

I closed my eyes and opened the Bible. It was God to help me open the Bible.

A few weeks ago, when I thought a Public Option on health care reform, was a possibility, I signed up to donate a dollar a day until the Health Care Reform bill was signed by, President Obama. Well, now it looks as though the far right-wing teabagger/townhallers and the insurance industry lobbies are winning and there will be no health care reform for, we the people of the United States of America. Thus, we will continue to suffer under the greedy insurance companies who make health care unaffordable for most of us.

In my own family my daughter who is a school teacher, in the Public School System cannot afford health care coverage for her family, she only has coverage for herself. (It would take a third of her $32,000 a year salary, for a family of four)...

My son who is self-employed as a local musician pays $650 a month for CATASTROPHIC health insurance. If he or his wife should get sick they will have to come up with $5000 in order to get treatment (The $650 pays for health coverage with a $5000 deductable and nothing else - not preventative, as in a yearly check-ups - it’s strictly an amount paid to the insurance company who is gambling that my son will not get sick. Pretty good odds considering my son and daughter-in-law are young).

This is sad but not as sad as all those Americans who have no coverage AT ALL because they can't afford the premiums the insurance companies demand since profit is their only motivation.

Once again, please tell me how to get out of this agreement I have committed to... When you called upon me to go door to door to get you elected, I was there. When you called upon me to make phone calls to help get you elected, I was there. When you called upon me to get people to register to vote, I was there. When you called upon me to remind people to get out and vote, I was there. When you called upon me to volunteer to drive people to the polls to vote, I was there. And foremost on my mind right now is when you called upon me from your first day in office to use my tax dollars to pay for the better part of your health care insurance, I was there.

Now I'm calling upon you to allow me the same right to the very same health care insurance you have by committing to support Health Care Reform with a Public Option and I can't seem to find you. Where are you?

I realize change is harder than staying with the status quo and I realize at times it may even be unpopular. I also realize when President Obama says .... this is America, we don't do what's easy, we do what's right..... the what's right part is what we elected you to do. To do what's right for all Americans.

One of the major goals of President Obama as well as that of late Senator Ted Kennedy is a comprehensive healthcare for all Americans. A father does not have to worry about finances at the same time as dealing with the cancer of his daughter. It simply is NOT FAIR. In order to find out how grave the situation it would be, one only need to put one self in the shoes of parents whose child has developed such a severe illness and they would have to deal with financial problems as well. More than 40 Million Americans would not be able to give suitable care to a very sick loved one. Is that fair? CERTAINLY NOT! One could sit aside and say that is not my problem as long as I have good health insurance for my self and my family. But that selfish person should rest assured any shortcoming in one’s society will sooner or later become their problem as well, one example would be increased crime rate in one’s society. That is why there is an ancient Persian saying which states: “People are members of the same club of humanity, if one gets sick, then others will feel a lot for her/him and that is called real humanity”. Walking on two feet is not the only sign of humanity, if that was the case, then Kangaroos would be humans as well. Perhaps Kangaroos are more human than some humans I know, in Australia one of them tried to knock on the window of a burning house in order to wake up a sleeping person in that house. I just had a very troubling experience while sitting in the waiting room at my husband's doctor's office. Immediately after the incident I came up with an idea I want to run by you all and see if there's anything you want to add.

I was sitting next to an elderly man, I'm guessing he was somewhere between 70 and 75 years old. When I first noticed him I got all excited because he was reading "Audacity of Hope". In my mind it was .... oh, goody, one of us. How wrong I was. I asked him if he was enjoying the book. His reply was, "I don't know yet as I just started to read it but I'm sure it will be full of more of the same propaganda". After I got beyond my rage and anger I tried to find out what it was about PBO that made him feel that way. I got the ever so popular answer about not wanting the government in his medical business and didn't want anyone messing with his medicare. I explained to him Medicare is a government run plan and all we are fighting for by wanting a public option as part of HCR for 50 million uninsured Americans was the same plan he has. He had no reply and shortly after we were called in to see the doctor.

As disturbing as this incident was to me it gave me an idea. We all may want to contact our local DNC and OFA local organizers and suggest they start having town hall meetings for seniors only. We need to get them away form all the people out there trying to convince them how bad a PO would be with all the fear and lies. I feel if we get them in a meeting solely for Seniors we may be able to get rid of their fear and replace it with the facts. I'm thinking that handing them a form with questions may help.

Sample questions .....
Do you have medicare?
Do you have private insurance?
Are you happy with what you now have?
If you were assured you can keep your doctor & the insurance you now have will you agree to a PO?

I have never heard anything as stupid or ignorant as the "stay at home republican mom" altered on CNN. she said and I quote" The government has never run anything efficiently". The same dumb statement repeated over an over by the zombies on the republican side:
1-America is the greated country in the world, and the government has "run" it into becoming the best in the world.
2-America has the best military in the world. And the Government as made it what it is. The privatization by bush brought us , abugraib, and all other scandals and mismanagement by private contractors.
3-Most insurances are subsidized through legislation that allows them to tax you the premiums you pay every months.
4-All legislation that allow private business to operate in peace and healthy competition is managed by Government.
5-Keeping peace, making roads, and other infrastructures are government programs that run well: we have the best infrastructures in the world, thanks to our government planners.
5-Embassies and foreign services that pave the way to private business in foreign land, protect our interests all over the world, negotiate our participation in the world are all government run.

I was shocked to see CNN give voice to a woman who was merely voicing her own and republicans ignorance or duplicity on the air.

All those who voted for Obama's agenda rather than his good looks, get out there and defend your votes. 53% voted for now Prez. Obama after comparing his program to all the republicans' and democrats'. After two years of campagning, we finaly settled to chose among democrats Obama, Edward, and Clinton essentially. Then we selected Obama's agenda to present to Americans. The choice was between the republican agenda of More of the Same, presented by Mcain, and the democrats agenda of Reform (Heathcare and other reforms) presented by Obama.
We made that choice in nov. 2008. Those who are out there trying to undo the votes casted in nov. are plotting a coup in the open. They are the same who failled to convince us to vote for Mcain and his status quo agenda. We voted for a particular reform, that lead and presented by Obama. We should stop these people before they change our democratic process as we know it. Are we going to become the next congo or suddan? Because if elections can't settle our affairs, it simply means that the street has taken over.

Why are we still debating whether to reform or not to reform healthcare? I thought that was settled in the Nov. 2008 elections when we carefully selected the right causes, programs and agenda from more than 8 candidates in 2 years! Among the Democrats, we selected Candidate Obama's agenda to , among other things, reform health care. Then compared it to Mcain's and the majority of Americans (53%) voted for Democrats and specifically Obama's Healthcare. The president, democrats and all those who voted for this reform, or simply those who want democracy to survive, should be out there reminding everyone that the election was over in Nov. 2008. What is going on out in these townhall is a hitjack of our democratic process, a "coup" where by Republicans want to overthrow a duely elected agenda with a president, the decision Americans took to reform Healthcare in Nov. 2008, through Obama' agenda. Don't temper with our Votes!!!!!!!! We don't want a watered down version either. I know that the republicans are hoping at least, to water down the bill on healthcare reform by their protest and intimidations so much so that no one would be happy with it, and the majority being unhappy, would never vote again for Obama, or the democrats, because he hasn't, they couldn't delivered for those who voted for him (them), in a doomed effort to satisfy those who didn't want him (them) in office in the first place: The republicans.

One very easy annoucement is that Republicans intend to cut the social programs of social security and medicare to reduce the deficit. They will be keeping tax cuts and enacting a new capital gains tax cut. They will be eliminating these programs to pay for the tax cuts.

Many of those who are so vocal at town halls appear to be in the social security age group. They don't want their medicare "touched" by government. They don't want the program that works for them changed. The truth is that there is no "status quo" in the future for social security or medicare. WHEN DID MEDICARE & MEDICAID STOP BEING GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE?

I must have been out sick the day the memo was sent around stating Medicare & Madicaid are no longer government run health care plans!

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), ranking member on the Senate Finance Committee, said that in countries with government-run health care, Kennedy “would not get the care he gets here because of his age.” Instead, the government would decide to spend health care resources on younger people “who can contribute to the economy”.

First of all, I take personal offense to Senator Grassley's statement. Today my husband, who is 70 years old, underwent surgery to have a tumor removed from his head.

My husband has Meidacre & Medicaid. He selected his own specialist, his own surgeon, the total cost was $4 up to and including today's surgery. He will be starting chemo therapy in about one week and that too, will be totally covered.

So to those believe elderly people on government run health care plans would be turned down and left to die. My husband is proof that is not so.

I have come online tonight to reach out to every single supporter of President Obama's health care reform. There was a town hall meeting held at the local Children's Board with our representative, Kathy Castor, tonight that not only was too packed to allow all of the citizens in, but the amount of protestors who came out against Obama's health care plan were overwhelming and very vocal. I know that there were some Obama supporters there, but we were incredibly outnumbered by very angry and aggressive local citizens. I cannot imagine that with the chaos going on outside of that building tonight, that this will be the only meeting held for our politicians to listen to citizens' voices.

President Obama has asked us to stay vigiliant in our community action and advocacy, even though the election is over. Anyone who supports this reform needs to make their voices heard. We must make sure to not allow the media to perpetuate the illusion that Hillsborough County and Florida voters aren't in support of President Obama. Many of us are. Many of us are living without health care. Many of us cannot afford the health care, medical bills or medicine that we do have access to. We are facing enormous problems with our current health care system, and we have to make sure that our President, our senators, our state and local representatives have an accurate picture of what we truly want and need. Please stay plugged in to your local news and information about any upcoming town hall meetings around health care reform, and if you weren't there tonight, GET THERE NEXT TIME! AND EARLY! This is too important to stay quiet about-everyone is watching and listening to what voters are expressing. Fight like your lives depend on this, because they do!

I realized that the 47% against health care reform contains the 45.7% that did not vote for President Obama in 2008. They do not want the change that the majority (54.3%) voted for. They were against the stimulus and are now yelling for "less government invovement" in healthcare. They believe the economy can only be fixed through "tax policy" and are also firm believers in the doom that comes from a large government deficit. They are the other side and will be out demonstrating on anything the President does that they consider as "change". We do need to listen to them but we can't let them prevent us from taking action.

I think that we should give them the opportunity to ask questions but we can't let them prevent us providing information. Perhaps we should actively call them on their shut down actions e.g. let them speak: challenge their incorrect information and ask them what they are proposing as an alternative. When they can't offer counter proposals ask them why they think nothing is the better option?

I am very upset with this new tactic by those who want to discourage Barack Obama's supporter. I hear that elected republicans are supporting this action because it will activate their base to come out for the midterm elections. The prediction is for this midterm to be like other midterms e.g. only the disgruntled participate. OFA needs to start sending the message that what was started with Barack Obama's election must be continued - his election was not a silver bullet to fix politics. Every election is important and has consequences. Lets start by looking at incumbants who are most vested in the status quo.

If anyone out still wants to question that there are wasted costs in the Medicare system we currently have, let me share my personal story.

My husband is 70 years old, he has Medicare and Medicaid. He is currently going through some very serious health issues. Over the past 4 weeks in trying to find the right physician to take care of him, he has had various tests done by several doctors. On Thursday of last week we finally found the right specialist needed to treat his illness. Once again, more tests were ordered. While waiting at the lab for my husband to get done with his tests I asked what happened to all the previous tests he had done. I was informed they were just sitting in the file there at the lab, no doctor had asked for them. I asked if I could have them. I was first told no, a doctor had to give permission to have them released. I politely corrected that person and explained they were my husband's property and I wanted them.

Once we got home and looked at all the tests from the past 4 weeks we realized how many were the same test. I could understand a 2nd request for a test already done, but 4 of the same. This, in my opinion, is a waste of money. This is the Medicare cost waste that President Obama speaks about, not taking away coverage or affecting Medicare coverage, just eliminating wasted costs.

I can't help but wonder if what it cost for all the tests done on my husband when only 2 would have been sufficient could maybe have paid for health care for one person for an entire year!

HEALTH CARE REFORM HAS BECOME VERY PERSONAL FOR ME ....

Once again, I'm about to wear my heart on my sleeve and share my personal story. I have submitted this to "share my story" and sent it out as a letter to editors.

Three weeks ago my husband discovered a lump in the back of his head just above his neck. After several appointments with his regular physician, comprehensive blood work, and 2 MRI's, it was determined that he has a tumor. He was told to find a cancer specialist in order to have a biopsy done to find out if the tumor is benign or cancerous.

Ever since, we have been trying to find a specialist. We asked his regular care physician for a recommendation and were told we have to find the specialist on our own. So far we have had 3 replies of not being able to get an appointment for at least 4 weeks and 4 replies of getting our called returned but never getting our call returned.

In all this time the lump has gotten bigger. My only recourse is to take him to our local hospital, explain the situation and demand they call in a specialist to do the biopsy.

This is not a case of not having health care coverage. My husband has complete coverage, no deductible and no co-pay, yet he has still has to wait weeks to see a doctor. This may very well turn out to be a life threatening situation, yet he still waits to see a specialist.

Yet some will say the Health Care System in our country is just fine the way it is. To those people I can only ask ...."will you still feel that way if it were your husband?"

I am sharing my story because I want to send a message out to people who are against any form of Health Care Reform with a Public Option. Some seem to think they will wait to see a doctor or not be able to chose their own doctor. Well guess what, under our current system, you do wait to see a doctor. My husband is living proof of that fact. And as far as having a doctor chosen for me, right at this very moment if that were the only way to get him this much needed appointment for a biopsy, I would gladly welcome that too!

The president of the United States made a straight forward common sense comment about the Gates’ arrest at a national press conference. I’m sure he assumed that there would be universal common sense understanding throughout the media and our society about the injustice of arresting a middle-aged man within his own home for being rude to a police officer. Sadly the media, law enforcement, political institutions and race baiting public in this society allowed this common sense evaluation to spiral out of control. The minority population in this country has always and will always need a coalition of proactive citizens with a similar sense of values in this society so injustices can be expressed without chaos, political unrest or violence. That has been the basis of every minority civil rights movement of our country. The president acknowledged an obvious injustice at a national press conference and expected common sense police officers, nurses , doctors , teachers, the media, politicians and everyday citizens to understand and support his outrage at the injustice and humiliation Professor Gates endured in his own home. Common sense values dictate that no one would want their dad or grandfather to be arrested in their own home for being rude to the police. But instead, this society debated and continues to debate whether Professor Gates should have been humiliated in such a manner by a professional police officer. President Obama is president of the United States, but he is also a member of a minority group of citizens in this country, and he has to navigate in ways someone who is not a member of a minority will never have to. As a member of a minority group, just as in the civil rights movement, President Obama's voice on injustice in this country, is and will only be as strong and as loud as the courage, strength and volume of the coalition of common folks who elected this president to office. Without common sense folks repeatedly speaking out loudly and confronting an obvious injustice, the president’s voice will be drowned out by the race baiting fringe groups, media and other institutions that know his voice is only as strong as yours. The radical fringe wants everything about President Obama, from birth certificates to pre-school, from friends to religious associations, marriage, political appointments and opinions to revolve around race, so that the voices of common sense folks with common sense values and issues can be drowned out by fake controversies, chaos and political unrest. If we empower the president's voice on common sense issues within this country, we will mute the divide and conquer tactics of these racists fringe elements in our society that surely benefit from political unrest and racial strife in the United States. The president spoke out about an obvious injustice to one of the most respected scholars in the country. It is our responsibility as citizens to back the common sense approach and determination that the president came to, repeatedly and loudly. In this democracy our president is a reflection of who we are and what we represent as a society. If we fail to speak up and support this president’s common sense approach on issues of injustice and policy in this country, the president we elected will have no voice, and neither will we.

The teachable moment behind "acting stupidly"

Believe it or not, the reality of the situation in Cambridge is not race-based. It is about a personal sense of being disrespect and the response to them. This is the teachable moment. Race obscures the reality of the dynamics of the situation that happens in the US every day e.g. forced acceptance of authoritarian demands made by some individuals in public safety. Hypervigilance is defined as abnormally increased arousal, responsiveness to stimuli, and scanning of the environment for threats. Too many public safety employees come into situations primed to respond and reacting to individual responses in a negative way.

Perhaps the training we should be giving our public safety officials is sensitivity to and management of their own physiological state while being in the midst of an emotionally charged situation.

THE URGENCY FOR HEALTH CARE REFORM WITH A PUBLIC OPTION

If there are still people out there who think we do not need need fix what's broken with Heath Care in our country, I have a suggestion.

Every Govenor, Senator, Representative, Mayor and any American who have not yet joined the fight for Health Care Reform with a strong Public Option should spend one day a week just sitting in the waiting room of a hospital Emergency Room.

Recently I had to take a family member to the ER and while there what I observed just broke my heart. I saw people who had health insurance walk in and get seen by the doctor in minutes. But more important, I saw people without health insurance walk in and wait hours to be seen. There was a mother with a baby two months old waiting to be seen. I couldn't help over hear the mother say she had no health insurance for her baby. I heard that mother call her home to let her family know she was still waiting for the doctor. I knew we arrived hours after she did, yet we were seen before her. I can only attribute it to the fact that my family member had health insurance. That's not right.

Maybe those opposed to Health Care Reform, those who feel it's not needed, many of whom are our elected officials, need to sit in an ER for an entire day, for several days, even a full week. After observing what I observed at the ER, maybe they will get it. The urgency and need for Health Reform with a strong Public Option.

Is Government more inefficient than the private sector?

Why is government so inefficient? Because the “other side” (determined by the party in office) refuses to allow any division/department/program to be funded in order to operate adequately. The President asks for so much money to fund a program. The House and Senate each write a bill with their own pet projects in it. Then they reconcile the bills to get one that both can sign. During this process dollars are changed, removed, and added, yet the almighty anxiety of the “deficit” gets dusted off and trotted out. There was a time when business was better than government but that was years ago. That was before the decade of self-interest dawned on the US.

Now health care providers and insurers look more and more like the government e.g. pushed to do more with less. Add to that the fact that those at the top of government want to live the life of luxury like corporate leaders. They too who want more and more. Government employees used to get better benefits than the private because they earned less. Today our government leaders want more pay and the best benefits. Does it really matter who takes our money and gives us little value in return? I hate paying for either corporate executives or elected officials to live a life I won’t ever see. I prefer to give my money to the government to share among more like me than to businesses whose primary mission is greed and whose power is our purse.

Until we change ourselves those we elect to government we will not change anything because those at the top like it this way! We must stop accepting unchallenged incumbants and poor business practices.

Look at this example of government waste (I'm using very rough estimates but as my mother said: take care of the pennies and the dollars take care of themselves): Take Mike Pence who stated on C-span that the cost of his health insurance benefit is over $1,000 a month. The cost of a family health plan at my company is $800.00. Take the $200 difference times the 534 in congress (434 representatives and 100 senators) times 12 months. This is a measly $1,281,600 per year that my taxes are paying for individuals to have better benefits than me. Why not review the costs of health care benefits imbedded in our government and make them more like those of the common citizen?

On one side is Harold’s employer, his arms are around Harold’s shoulders. Standing next to the employer’s is his health insurance agent. The agent’s arm is around the employer’s shoulders. The agent is speaking to Harold. “Do you really want the government in here with us?”

Where are the jobs? Why are you asking instead of taking action & creating them!

I listened today to House Representatives give one-minute speeches. They all slipped the line “Where are the jobs” into their presentations. It was so obvious that this was a party strategy and subject of a talking points memo. Given the number of speeches decrying the stimulus plan, raising concerns about looming deficits, and taxing small businesses all as destroyers of jobs, I found myself wondering.

There had to be at least 25 speakers. If each speaker went out and helped even a small number of people create jobs for others then think of the ripple effect. It is not acceptable to allow any group to sit on the sidelines and cheer for defeat! They must be questioned about what they are each doing personally to create jobs through their elected positions. Yes, this is like the argument about “Republicans just saying no” but the creation of jobs is so important that no one can be excused from taking any action they could to create jobs. They can't get off the hook just by voting no and then hand wringing and naysaying. They have a fairly powerful job in their own right and how are they using it? How many jobs has Rep. Boehner personally saved/created in his district verses how many have been saved/created via the stimulus plan? It is up to everyone to get the citizens of our nation back to work not just the democrats in an elected federal position. It is also up to executives of global companies started here not just small businesses. No one should get a pass to sit on the side.

Every place you look these days, the main topic is Health Care Reform. Whether it be heard on the morning or evening news, radio stations around the country, at water coolers, break rooms and lunch rooms at the office or at your own dining room table, there is much discussion. The dining rooms table conversations are where health care reform is most talked about. It is where every day Middle Class Americans have serious discussions. They have the most to benefit from Health Care Reform. Forty six million of those Americans have no health care.

Some of the comments we are hearing are ..... we need health care reform, our health care system is broken, legislators recognize we need some kind of health care reform, legislators are scared to do what's right because they that may not get campaign donations from those opposed to health care reform. Some are for a single payer system, some are against it. Some are for a strong public option, others are against it. Some say the debt will take centuries to pay back, others say health care reform came be done without a bug debt.

President Obama promised Americans Health Care Reform would get done during his first year in office. Senators and Representatives either have a very short memory or are just not paying attention or hearing what Americans are saying they want included in the bill.

The first thing that we have to realize is our country does not have a Health Care System, it has a health Care Industry. A Health Care Industry does not make and keep people healthy it only makes and keeps the wallets of the Health Care Industry healthy.

We know a single payer system is not to be in this go around, but Health Care Reform with a good and strong public option is something that can be done. If your Senator or Representative is showing resistance to a public option then it's time to show them who they work for. We voted them in and we can vote them out.

They have been discussing Health Care Reform for over 30 years, it's time to stop discussing and act!

We are almost to the votes on the congressional floors for The Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.

The Bill has to pass 5 committess to get to both floors of congress:

House - Energy and Commerce
House - Ways and Mean
House - Education and Labor
Senate - HELP
Senate - Finance

The Bill - H.R. 3200, has already passed two committees in the House: Ways and Means and Education and Labor. Now it only has to pass in Energy and Commerce to go the the House floor for a vote! Exciting!

Energy and Commerce will take up the matter on Monday.

As for the Senate, we need it to pass only the Finance Committee now, it already passed through the HELP Committee. Once the Finance Committee aproves, it's on to the Senate floor for a vote.

The good news is we have a majority on the Senate Finance Committee:

I think we are okay in Energy and Commerce too, but I have not verified it.

Once the Bill has been passed through by the last two committees, we are alomost there.

The pressure will then heat up on the naysayer democrats to go along with the historic legislation.

Things are looking good. Thanks to the leadership of President Obama, America will finally get health care reform.

A Bush Administration investigation by a special prosecutor could drown out the republican opposition's drum beat about the negative potential of a looming deficit. People have been so exposed to republican negativity that they have become nervous about looking forward. Unfortunately it is also being echoed by Congressional Democrats. The message "Yes we can!" has been changed to "Yes, we can - but - can we really afford it?" We learned from the last administration that you could run large deficits but we did not learn how to run large deficits with a conscience e.g. an opposition party droning on about the negative potentials of those deficits.

If we are against starting a "tit-for-tat" process going forward by investigating a prior administration for "crimes", then forget it until we change the dynamics of party politics. If we are against the distraction component then get over it because we are losing to the distraction of "fear of the future". As the pressure we felt from our "fear of now" during December and January has been converted into a "fear of the future" over the last few months we may need a distraction to get us through now without fearing tomorrow and ceasing to act for change.
