The Prize

Congratulations to President Barack Obama in honor of the Nobel Peace Prize...at his acceptance speech, he humbly stated he was undeserving of the honor, but I beg to differ...the prize of accomplishing the office of Presidency in America by a man of Black African heritage, is a testament to his life, all Americans of vision and African Americans in particular. The Prize is the paramount national and global vision that our President embodies.....and if anyone is concerned about the economy, with all the speculation, lies and projection of ideologies, the President's presence has undoubtedly spurred talk show hosts, pundits, and any other "wish i knew what the hell i was talking about"opportunists, to generate monies from the paymaster.........the election of President Barack Obama was achieved through a peaceful and bloodless process that some still try to invoke the ugliness of the base of human nature.....but, global life of peace, justice and happiness is the Prize of the Prize.

My Experience at a Town Hall Meeting on Health Care Reform

At the Lexington Town Hall meeting instead of showing the President's plan they showed the GOP plan (chart included).
At the Lexington Hall Meeting there was majority Republicans of course, and a few Democrats. There was a share of outbursts here and there.
I sat up front and got to ask the people around me their opinion on Health Care. Some were unsure about it. Dr. John Black, the President, SC Medical Assoc. Said the? Doctor association (don't remember the name) was supporting the President's Plan, because of duress. Rep. Joe Wilson also echoed that other groups were under duress, to support the plan. What I find so interesting about Dr. Black everything he would support in a Bill in Health Care Reform is already in the President's plan. The folks love it, but they didn't understand that this is part of the President's Plan not the GOP.

Rep. Joe Wilson continuously spread some of the same falsehoods Republicans have been spreading in emails. He said that Abortion is mention through out this bill, which is False. He talked about the so called death panel and how the illegal aliens would take advantage of the Presidents plans. Some Democrats were fed up of the falsehoods and would shout out liar. Any information in reference to the President’s Health Care Reform Joe Wilson talked about has been proven false by the Media and the White House. Questions were put on post cards and drawn from a box. All the questions we heard were from Republicans. (Not to add there were several duplicate questions on the Post cards which was a waste of time.) I guess they were afraid of the questions if people got up to use a microphone.

There was one short elder lady that kept interrupting and calling Joe Wilson a liar with some shouts about Iraq. She kept getting reprimanded by the man reading the Questions on stage. At one point Joe Wilson directly reprimanded her for her out bursts (something about comparing to a chair and table). People were yelling at her to leave. After it was almost over she got up to leave and Republicans were roaring and clapping. As she was leaving and Joe Wilson was speaking she yelled something and another elder man went over and looked like touch her arm (? I guess to take her out). The elder gentlemen she was with stood in front of her and stared the other elderly man down.

After the meeting I went over to Speak to Rep. Wilson to ask a question. There were several people trying to ask questions and I was directly standing beside Rep. Wilson and every time I tried to get in to ask a question he seem to keep to turning around in the circle to answer someone else's question. Not to say this figured into the picture, but I was probably suspected as a supporter for the President since I am African American, and I was the only African I noticed in the crowd trying to ask Rep. Joe Wilson a question after the meeting. There were some people who kept mentioning after the last person had finish with their question, I was trying to ask a question. (He seem to keep turning in a circle in the other direction to answers someone else's question, mind you again I was directly next to him). The agent? I assume who was with Rep. Wilson said he would make sure I would get to speak to Rep. Wilson.

I ask Rep. Wilson How can he explain for Canada, who he said has everyone on a 6 months waiting list, can some how be able to provide health care since 2007 for any American unemployed or simply cannot afford insurance in the United States to come there to gain health care for a small fee? How can he justify the United States can't take care of his own? He gave be a blip answer, we can't afford it, and tried to turn away.
I then said the President's Public option was not free and that people would have to pay for it. The plan also help covers the gap for those that can’t pay for private insurance.
He also later said each country should take care of its own. Mind you Joe Wilson is not interested in providing insurance option such as a public plan so how could he say the United States will take care of its own? The folks chimed in...

He tried to mention the Trillion dollars the President’s health care program would cost and I said I understood it to be in the billions.

He tried to mention all the illegal aliens that have been driving up the cost, (when he mentions illegal aliens everyone began yelling about the illegal aliens. I had one woman pointing at me and screaming. I looked at her and looked away. I told him of all the millions Americans who drive up cost by using the emergency rooms to get medical attention.

He then mention all the small businessmen that would go out of business and all the people with private insurance would be removed from their personal insurance plan and I explained a public plan would be good for the small businessmen that could not afford providing insurance to their employees. Employees would be able to buy affordable insurance on their own, and people with private insurance would still be able to keep their insurance.

He kept trying to make people fear government involved in health care throughout the town hall meeting and when I was talking to him, I also ask him if he is going to ask all these folks around him to get off Medicare since Medicare is ran by the government. I then ask him does he support Medicare and he did say yes.
There was another woman next to me who kept yelling I was wrong about the small businessmen not going out of business. She said she would explain it to me, and I looked at her and told her I didn't want to hear from her because anything she had to say would be biased. Rep. Joe Wilson looked over his shoulder and smiled at her. (I had overheard earlier this same woman talking to one of Joe's Wilson's people. Apparently she and Rep. Wilson have talked before and also I overheard her tell she works for the Insurance Industry).
We had some other comments back and forth but that’s about the gist of it.
I had all the questions I could think of and so I left. On my way out small businessmen shook my hand and told me he actually understood the questions I asked Rep. Joe Wilson. He thought the President plans was a good plan, but was concerned about some of the penalties (some more of the Falsehoods Joe Wilson put out there at this Town Hall meeting).
Actually I believe majority of those people in that room would support a Public choice, but the Republicans are making it sound bad. One lady told Joe she was mad and she was afraid that the government was going to take her Medicare. Do you think Joe Wilson told her she shouldn’t worry about that in the President’s plan? NO, he didn’t tell her she was wrong, he overlooked this and referenced what he would not support this bill. One gentleman told Joe Wilson that he hopes he can put out more information about the Health Care Reform bill, because he just didn’t have enough information about it. C'mon he isn't going to get the correct information from Representative Republican Joe Wilson.

Well that's my long story, and my last Town Hall meeting on Health Care, so my mom can stop worrying.

American Challenge

Senator Ted Kennedy extended his life beyond his family and friends to share as a public servant for all Americans. His championed work can be manifested in the application of justice and equality for all Americans. Many of us are sadden of his passing though he was persistent to brave the challenge to mold an ideal society till his last days. JFK, onced coined: " Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." If we can remove our mentality from a self serving and vain society of individuals, we can see the profound message that those who stood and stand for a prosperous and healthy nation for all this nations citizens, is we are bound as one people. We are all Americans destined to champion humanity's imperfections or are we just another failed experiment of intellectual, social and economic governance of humanity?

Hypocrisy: The New Democracy

A claim to fame as the greatest civilization on the Planet Earth, The United States of America...lined with golden rules of humanity, civility and intellect unmatched by any nation has unmasked a deep contradiction through some of its misinformed and prejudicial citizens.

You would think a great debate and outrage would be over the billion dollar child pornography business or child abuse...or the billions of dollars ripped off by likes of Madoff and Wallstreet tycoons of investors, 401K, stocks, etc... merging and dismantling of corporations (shipping jobs overseas)to avoid domestic employment, health and retirement benefits for American workers...deaths of brave American men and women troops who fight unsubstantiated wars, but fight as a duty,...pollution, crime, uneducated masses, credit gouging......no outrage on any of the above issues mentioned during these past years ...immediately after Presidential election there is a need for outrage and where is the outrage?....healthcare reform for all Americans! A political ploy, masked as a cost factor. How can the Statue of Liberty ask for the tired, poor and etc. at the gateway to America, as some American citizens show rage and disrespect towards its own elected officials and fellow Americans over HEALTH! Complete hypocrisy and utter stupidity!

Distraction is quite an attraction, isn't it??? Chrysler/GM in and out of brief bankruptcy and on the road to solvency. Weak stock market hit 7,000 level under former administration and now over 9,000. Announcement made that some troops are on their way home from one of the unjustified wars this year. The entire planet loves America again because of President Obama, but not for long when they see the ugly face of racism emerge. Healthcare system on positive path to improvement since health insurance cost will no doubt keep rising with a shrunken work force, who must pay for risk. Downward sliding economy hits brakes and positions to regroup. Yet, all that is heard from the media and undermining politicians and pundits is President mispoke and should apologize about Professor's arrest(can you say trespassing when i.d. has been established?). Privacy Act?

The only one that needs to apologize are those who constantly harp on some fantasy of never being wrong even about slavery, jim crow, segregation, lynching.....shall i go on. The media has taken advantage of President Obama's promise of transparency and keeps him in the publics eye hoping that the population will grow weary, but yet always have a story of interest because it makes America seem as though all racism has been extracted, please. The whole world is watching and is not fooled by this bullsh**. If the President operates from behind closed doors and no longer gives you easy access to his staff, workers or himself then you'll cry foul, but without a doubt project another image and spin to thrust on the people. Learn to live and report as a genuine multi-cultured nation or brace yourself for a rude awakening....

We stand at a point in time where many jobs have gone overseas...and wonder what happened to the economy....Health coverage and payroll has always been the biggest liability for most companies, that's why the jobs went overseas. Profits, board members, and CEO pay had to be the ultimate measure at the end of the day. But, when there are less workers due to relocating jobs overseas and mergers, then there is less input to both accumulate national wealth and spread the risk factor for health coverage, thus health insurance cost increased.

Even huge pay differences between sectors of the population could not curtail the inevitable, there must be balance......Now the free market capitalists and lobbyists will scream "no higher taxes, socialism, and blah, blah, blah", the fact remains that when there is a denial of access to production, whether it is discrimination by race or economic stature, the whole gross national product is ultimately effected. There is no reason to debate whether denial of access for equality existed or exists, because at this point with an unprecedented economic demise, everyone pretty much feels the heat....what do we do about it now?

We work harder as one nation of people for the wellbeing of us all or continue to see the spiral down effect of mismanaged and discriminatory practices. We have perhaps, the greatest minds on the planet, here in America, yet face a dire, near catastrophic crisis from years of greed and selfishness. These minds must become a force for resolution. You can't have it both ways, as the saying goes," You can only serve one master". I'm afraid the master for America had been the DOLLAR, the ultimate prize, yet we claim to be a Christian nation, whatever that means. Because it damn sure doesn't mean abiding by the original laws of the Bible which banned usury(making profit from money) in the first place. This ethical and moral law was to be followed for a reason, mainly to avoid corruption and the craving for the DOLLAR in one's heart. Its too late to implement another monetary system, but is it too late to implement a genuine national brotherhood? If there is still national pride then now is the time to embrace each other in justice or witness the (Fall of Rome) before our very eyes...

Truth of Politics

Make no mistake, an intrique or manuevering unit within our national governing body's only goal is to be counterproductive to President Obama's agenda, that's politics. President Obama has health coverage already, he's trying to get it for YOU. Yeah, they'll throw out bait of all kinds, like: "spending our grandchildrens budget"....yet, there was no problem spending money (an estimate trillion dollars over 10 years) to enter a foreign country(Iraq) looking for some type of weapons and all that were found were 6 fighter jets(5 buried in the sand) and 3 battleships(inoperable). Iraq had a 2/3 no-fly zone already imposed on it, how were these "mysterious weapons" going to become mobile anyway, camel or horse and wagon? That's called wasteful or unintelligent spending. Politics is strange....this nation was gun-ho about financing a war against Iraq and Afghanistan which was the beginning of our economic demise, but for the health and wellbeing of its own citizens, no way, which is the beginning of economic growth. Could it be some politicians have a stake in the sale of military weapons, a deadly truth? Interest in oil? Guess what, still no Osama, only the killings of combatants who choose to fight and die against invaders and Coalition soldiers fighting as ordered. If i recall it was reported 15 of the 9/11 plane hi-jackers were Saudi renegade citizens and we are in Iraq and Afghanistan, huh??? Not that we should be at war with the Saudis, but what's really going on???? OIL. Another story.....

The current President's predecessor, Bush stated "the fundamentals of the economy are sound(strong)", several times, yet passed a stimulus package to bail the "sound economy" out of the throes of devastastion before leaving office. But, the agenda of the former President is not the issue as far as our solution, but is an issue as far as the problem. You see, there's an element within our governing body that doesn't want our current Presidents agendas to succeed even if it means blind siding the very people President Obama and they also swore to uphold in their best interest and livelihood.

President Obama was given the keys to a remarkable vehicle (national economy), by the former driver, Bush, who explained, "I thought the engine was running fine, but it needs a tune-up. So, i borrowed some money to have it repaired." A minor miscalculation accompanied the keys, yesterdays budget forecast has come and gone, welcome new day Trillions of dollar economy. Upon receiving the keys the current President and everybody riding in this remarkable vehicle realized, the engine is going out, we'll need a new engine or a new vehicle sooner than later(national economy and banking system). In the mean time there are some passengers who've gotten ill and can't receive care because the vehicle is puttering and stalling, yet, an element of those who make decisions about the operation of this remarkable vehicle tell those who are ill, it's a little costly to fix, so try to hang in there while we bs(govern). Those ill sometimes lose their homes, jobs, health and ultimately their lives as the remarkable vehicle waits on crucial decision makers.

Some politician's only sense of governing is to influence the minds of this nations citizens (passengers) that the remarkable vehicle isn't working properly because of who now has the keys, hoping the people won't see the truth of politics, deadly truth.

House On Fire!

GOP senators have it wrong again....more pressure on Iran from U.S. government about Iran's Presidential election...are you serious? Was there any foreign intervention in the questionable 2000 U.S. Presidential election? Popular vote overturned by court decision and manipulation through the election night voter count/cover-up occured in the U.S. in the year 2000, the world observed, but did not interfere.
The President has voiced his opinion on the Iran matter and that is sufficient.
This nation is now paying its own price for voter deception from the 2000 election, so IF Iran has committed voter fraud, then that's for Iran to handle...Let's try this, help get the U.S. ECONOMY BACK ON TRACK, reform the healthcare system, remedy massive job loss, foreclosures, exit the 2 mega-costing wars, etc. because you stood around these past 9 years playing fiddles as (Rome) burned from the very fire you help set......put this national fire out before you point at smoke from another house....

Meet & Greet with Jeremy Bird, Deputy Director of Organizing For America on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 4:30pm - 6:30pm

Meet and Greet with Jeremy Bird, Deputy Director of Organizing For America on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 4:30pm - 6:30pm

Have you wondered what will become of the nationwide grassroots machine assembled over the course of the Obama campaign? Come learn! Organizing for America (formerly Obama for America) is the grassroots legacy of the campaign that changed the course of history. Find out about plans for OFA in South Carolina and across the country. Our featured guest, Jeremy Bird, served as state field director of the Obama campaign during the historic South Carolina primary. (Jeremy was the architect of the "house meetings" program that was used with great success across the country in the general election.) He also served as General Election Director for the Obama campaign in the battleground state of Ohio. Currently Jeremy works as Deputy National Director of Organizing for America.

Here are the details for the event:

April 25th, 4:30-6:30 PM Liberty Taproom and Grill

(803) 461-4677

828 Gervais St, Columbia, SC 29201

Cross Streets: Between Gadsden St and Lincoln St

World Conference To End All Racism

U.S. and Israel prepare to boycott the upcoming World Conference To End All Racism, hosted by the U.N. because of the language of final documents presented by the participating members toward Israel. Though the giant finger of accusation should not come to rest solely on the shoulders of Israel or the U.S., factually and institutionally there has been and remains racism from these nations or groups from these nations. There has been racism towards these nations as well, that is Israel and the U.S. Further, many other nations harbor racism in their countries as well......but, keep in mind.....the last time Israel and the U.S. boycotted the World Conference To End All Racism it was still held during the final weeks of August 2001 and ended September 7, 2001, four days later came the infamous 9/11/01.......coincidental....

FIRST 100 DAYS

Ever sought service or solution to a problem and dared visit or call a corporation or company just to find out, out of every 24 employees, only 3 or 4 know what the hell they are doing, the others are running around looking for the 3 or 4..... if its morning, some are drinking coffee and if its in the afternoon some are out having a few beers....which beverage is consumed is actually irrelevant...the point is that this scenario is model for the type of leadership from businesses and/or the government this nation had been used to for years.......In addition there was a significant demonstration (tea party) over taxes on 4/15/09. The demonstrators (tea party crowd), including a national television network that have "talking heads" who have "gotten in bed" with the promoters of the rally, FreedomWorks, are equivalent to the "balance of the 24 employees looking for leadership"....Now the executive officers of this organization are authentic in their talents (advocates of tax reform), but the organization's mission statement includes to aggressively seek media exposure and globally market the ideas of capitalism by any MEANS), opened the door for the "tea party" crowd to advocate everything from SEPARATION from the UNION to implication that our President is a Socialist, irresponsible spender, etc. and yet the crowd has no idea what to do as far as national solutions... further, at the very time of the demonstration the President had been briefed on the returning home from a successful rescue of American merchant seamen from high seas piracy, proposed a reform for a simpler tax system, addressed illegal drug and weapon exchanges between U.S. and Mexico and monitored the national budget, just to mention a few of his responsibilities during that one day...............it's sad, the urge to discredit the masterful and remarkable achievements of the current President , departments and staff's first 100 days is the motive behind much of the hype......by those trying to wake up with coffee or motivate themselves with beer........

IN OUR TIME

I know i am not alone as i balance rent, buying food, utilities, medicine and auto insurance at a seemingly impossible approach....yet i am thankful....the spirit and drive to be a positive person of integrity is rewarding in itself, something I learned from at the time, Senator Obama while he campaigned .............now I observe President Obama and Michelle travel

Europe and the MidEast with masterful intelligence and display the better part of their hearts in style, which should give all Americans pride....some will argue for argue sake...."he's no messiah, he reads scripts, wants to spend money" no he's not a messiah, but to utilize intelligence and speak from a good heart will defer one from being foolish...and foolish is what we've experienced as a nation that brought us to this point economically, intellectually, socially, globally and many other ....ly. Spending money isn't and wasn't the problem, foolishly spending and mismanaging money is the problem. There are no tele-promps in closed meetings with heads of States,......minds and hearts are present, key things that hadn't been used in awhile from former administrations....

Man had not matured as a spiritual or thinking being when deadly weapons were created...now still not spiritually mature in the 21st Century, we struggle with the consequence and the price of wars, in particular two wars that have crippled our economy and stressed our population to react with mass murders on a weekly scale, fear of job or home loss, anxiety of ample food, medication, etc. War is not the answer and as we now realize, it is costly in not just lives but livelihoods .... we have yet to learn, collectively we can either bless up this planet or mess up this planet, choice is ours....

Alert: News conference and hearings on voting legislation Wednesday and Thursday! Attend if you can!

Alert: News conference and hearings on voting legislation Wednesday and Thursday....attend if you can!

The SC House and Senate will hold hearings on Wednesday, March 25, and Thursday, March 26, on bills that will affect citizens' rights to vote in-person absentee and will erect new hurdles by requiring voters to present state-issued photo IDs at the polls.

A news conference will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 by several groups that have united to oppose the photo ID bill -- House bill 3418. The bill has passed the House and will be heard 9 a.m. Thursday by a Senate Judiciary subcommittee chaired by Senator Chip Campsen. The news conference is being held by AARP/SC, ACLU South Carolina National Office, Common Cause/South Carolina, League of Women Voters of South Carolina, SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center, South Carolina State Conference of the NAACP, and the Charleston Branch of the NAACP. The groups will voice their objections to this bill and call on the subcommittee to hold hearings on H. 3418 in Columbia, Florence, and Charleston to allow voters to testify.

The S.C. Democratic Party considers the General Assembly's handling of the photo ID bill and early voting to be crucial tests of South Carolina's will to remove barriers to citizens' right to vote in the wake of last fall's massive turnout. Republicans are running scared and are trying to put further restrictions on early voting and suppress certain votes, particularly of the elderly.

Here's a brief description of the three events:

CAPITOL steps on Wednesday
Groups Hold Press Conference to Oppose H3418
WHAT: Press Conference in Opposition to H3418
WHO: Teresa Arnold, State Director, AARP/SC; John Crangle, Executive Director, Common Cause/South Carolina; Mary Horres, Co-Chair, Voter Services, League of Women Voters/Charleston Area; and Lonnie Randolph, President, South Carolina State Conference of the NAACP.
WHERE: Press conference will be held on the front steps of the South Carolina State House on Gervais Street. If it is raining, the group will move inside the building. Note: No electrical power and no sound system will be available on site.
WHEN: Wednesday, March 25, at 1:00 p.m. After brief statements from the speakers, representatives from all the organizations will be available to answer questions from the press.
WHY: This legislation, if passed, will affect all voters and all tax payers in South Carolina. These organizations are committed to insuring that South Carolina's citizens become aware of its impact on the state budget and voters' rights.

HOUSE on Wednesday
WHAT: Judiciary Election Laws Subcommittee to hear variety of bills to constrict or expand in-person absentee voting (aka: early voting).
WHEN: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, or 1½ hours after the House adjourns.
WHERE: Room 515-A, Blatt Building, on Capitol grounds.

SENATE on Thursday
What: Senate Judiciary subcommittee to hear variety of bills to constrict or expand in-person absentee voting (aka: early voting), plus the bill passed by the House that requires photo IDs. Bill numbers (at this hour) are: Ford's SB 352 on early voting, Campsen's SB 334 on early voting and HB 3418 (photo ID).
WHEN: 9 a.m. Thursday, March 26
WHERE: Room 207 Gressette Building, on Capitol grounds

You can read any of these bills at www.scstatehouse.gov.

Jim DuPlessis
Director of Information Technology and Research
South Carolina Democratic Party
1529 Hampton Street
Columbia, SC 29201
Main: (803) 799-7798
Toll-free: (800) 841-1817
cell: (803) 669-0055
scdp email: JDuPlessis@scdp.org

New Patriotism

After a brilliant victory and inauguration of our new President, there seems to be a faction of the population that dare suggest failure for our President is some how a form of patriotism while dismissing this nation's code of democratic election process. Amazed, but not at all surprised of (the small-minded) who use energy and so-called expertise to validate this madness of divisiveness...but, we remember so vividly there was no need to wish for failure to the former administration because this nation received more than failed leadership, but also a blinded plan of continuation as a great nation...patriotism is futile in the closed minds of some of those who perceive themselves as an asset to this nation, with no resolution other than tried failures of the recent past ..just like the commercial paper and over valued stocks that fuel the 'free market for profit diehards'...who also must realize other failures of the old system.....time to step up to the new era and be true patriotic American men and women of integrity for a different day, not jesters of crumbling divisive idealism of past years...

Application Of Change

Idealism is as great as its positive impact on reality....the time to establish community and grass root activities has never ceded, only subsided....libraries, community centers, social service clinics, the internet and community colleges are prime central centers for establishing on-going educational information sources for health care and employment opportunities for many elgible American citizens and tax payers..I attended a movie documentary(Sicko) while in St. Petersburg, Fl, that was very informative and interesting...held at the main library of the city! A town hall styled discussion followed the movie, that allowed everyone willing to express their concerns. Local news channels(Bay News 9) and Fox, filmed and reported the event. This innovative approach to the dire change needed is but a start for the new year and new Presidential administration to address the 21st century issues...the creation of job opportunities and a national health care system are determined by organized, professional and driven cooperatives of private and public applications....

Geithner as Treasury secretary comforts the volatile stock market...that's the confidence President-Elect Barack Obama conveys from himself and his mastermind group to the American public...this is the same confidence that when spoken will convince the adversaries of peace to think again...for though the mightiest arsenal on the planet is soon within his grasp...his word reflective of the American people he represents is mightier than the sword....and though this nation may experience a fall from the sole super power, the American people will be remembered for the rise of the power and word of the people.....

Changing Of The Guard

Many have witnessed the formalities of how government is run...with little being accomplished other than constituents receiving pay raises and retaining their positions after exposure of scandals...amazing...now we have the opportunity to not only witness how a great nation governs but be included in the process...watching the legislators hit and miss on the economic solutions is cringing, unfortunately our latest victim, the Detroit Big 3 are within the grip of a tightening fist....that is why Pres-Elect Obama's 21st Century resolutional approach with his army of tech savvy and politically aware supporters are poised to engage in the daunting task of creating real government......for the people, by the people and of the people....be patient, but forever driven to establish a new admirable government...but, first comes the ceremony of changing of the guard...

Congratulations to Pres. Elect Barack Obama and to all of us who can breathe a little easier now...but, only for a short period of time...we will be asked to continue our service throughout the transition and beyond...the core message has always been, we as a people, a nation must define our course as the inconquerable Americans....and face down the nearly insurmountable issues of our day and time....

As we close out this extraordinary race for the White House....I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude for myself and millions of others who were sparked by an idea to achieve an unbelievable venture and together, made it happen....you see..the beginning or the inception of this nation was founded on an idea....a promise...a spirit... that equality...freedom...happiness...justice...and liberty would emerge from not just written words or a theoretical view only...but an actuality...let us be bound to the true meaning of democracy at home and then the world will know that, this nation's beginning idea has reached its fruition and become the true light of this planet.. a new beginning...as best said by Sen. Obama, a change we can believe in, so......let us begin...

Democracy And.......The United States Of Truth

Marxist...Socialist,....lies and filth....Sen. Obama intends to use the same system not designed by him, but the Founding Fathers, taxation.....if the pure capitalist Republicans have an argument, then raise the argument with the Constitution....taxation was written in before non-regulated free market or The Republican Party, my friends....Sen. Obama would like to bring balance to a corrupt and under managed government by taxing those who are fortunate enough to afford it, income of a quarter of a million dollars or more.....i've heard arguments from some about how hard they've worked and they're asked to share through taxes and i think about the Chinese immigrants that built the railroads and bridges, along side of Native Americans and African Americans, talk about hard work and taxing of their mind, body and souls,.... they paved the way for the greatness of America in various industries and yet received minimum to nill for those of future generations to enjoy...another argument; that the checks and balances will be altered if The White House, House and Senate are Democrat.,.....stupidity...first of all checks and balances are between the three branches of gov., legislative, judiciary and executive, there'll never be absolute power for any one person or group...and also the sleeping giant has awakened, The American People, thanks to Sen. Obama, you have 9 year olds studying political science and the voting age population has engaged in hands on politics as it should have been in 2000, but some were trusting of the Republican leadership and that leadership proved itself to be self serving, evident by current economic distress..... doubt if the people will be asleep at the wheel any more....argument: people are not questioning his security strength, they are just choosing him because the Republicans screwed up the economy...no one is punishing the gov. by electing Sen. Obama...he is the most intelligent choice...ask the soldiers if they'd rather fight for Sen. McCain or Sen. Obama, six to one support Sen. Obama...ask the nations of the world if America is threatened would they hesitate to show love and support for an America led by Pres. Obama, ask the hundreds of millions of people if they would rather work harmoniously in America under Pres. Obama and create quality trade in domestic and exported products...there is no argument other than for argument sake that the most effective leader, shown by his temperament, class and intelligence to inspire and manage people and money from grassroot levels upward, be elected as the leader of the people from diverse populations in Florida, Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio and Pa, along with the other great States that have already cast their opinions is Sen. Obama....and.........for the negative minds, this is a nation of democracy, not hypocracy...nor your brand of......self centered "all about me" profit-cy...

It's Clear Now

What's puzzling is...... Sen. McCain was selected as Republican Party nominee several months before the Democratic Party nominee was selected to launch his campaign agenda, so what in the world had he been waiting on to state what his presidential platform was about?...All i'd heard was "maverick" and "POW". Now he claims he is the under dog, no, he is under par, under water, no one of great leadership skills needs that much time to organize a platform and execute it....his plan apparently has been to listen and observe what Sen. Obama says and does then jump around with hundreds of attack strategies.......and not yet say what he is running for president for...now he claims to be campaigning for the middleclass...he's never even brought the subject up in any debates, press conference or rallies until Sen. Obama laid out his proposals for the working families months ago and was questioned about his tax plan(less than 2 weeks ago)....example of stumbles, agrees with joint bipartisan statement suggested by Sen. Obama, but released to the press by McCain as if it was his idea, suspends campaigning, but interviews with Katie, "fundamentals of our economy are strong"........a few hours after that statement "i mean the workers are strong"..What?? Chose a female VP partner once Sen. Clinton's female supporters didn't bite the bait he dangled...but his female choice has no idea what the position's requirements are and still has difficulty doing an interview with or without him by her side(pathetic)....there is something off beat about his whole campaign...negative ads about a United States Senator being a socialist and accompanying terrorists...none of these accusations had been remotely considered while Senator Obama has served his country as a public servant in Illinois or on Capitol Hill because there would have been charges brought against him by now, right? The only charges of law breaking is slander and deceit, not to mention death threats shouted during McCain's campaign rallies toward a U.S. Senator, (federal offense)......but you can expect that from an unprepared and desperate candidate ( Sen.McCain) and his campaign staff.......but i am not puzzled any more about what McCain had been doing to prepare for the general election...........it was nothing intelligently.....just like he's doing now....

Prayers for Senators Obama and Biden

My prayers go out for Senator Obama as he face yet another hurdle to cross. We pray for his family as they walk through the doors of uncertainty. Pray for the knowledge that God is in charge and whatever happens from this point on, that God knows best. We pray that the lord help both Senator Obama and Senator Biden endure any and everything that's thrown at them in respect to Senator Obama's ill grandmother and Senator Biden's son in Iraq and this upcoming election. Give them the strength to hold up, and peace of mind that will enable them to go forward.

These and all other blessings we asked in Jesus name.

Amen

A "15 Second" Lesson

Colin Powell endorses Sen. Obama and gives explicit details why;.....trivial attacks by Sen. McCain, choice of VP by Sen. McCain, inability to display leadership during initial meltdown of Wall Street, negative themes toward opponent and narrowing of the value of core Republican Party members and ideologies.......Sen. McCain dismisses the endorsement as not being a serious blow and attempts to cast himself as "guardian of the middle class" another clever ploy....McCain jumps around in his strategic themes almost as much as he wanders back and forth on stage during debates...but even though Sen. McCain appears beaten, Sen. Obama is not in the White House until after the election....there was a boxing match where one opponent was whipped all through the fight decisively, yet in the last round with fifteen seconds to the bell, out of nowhere a right hook, took the until that moment assumed winner, to the canvas....the loser dropped his guard and was knock out so bad the credits were still rolling on the TV screen as he continued to lie stretched out on the canvas, so instead of taking for granted the race is over because of the impact from the endorsement of a military and foreign policy genius..... Sen. Obama says, he's running to the finish line and through the tape........with crucial awareness.........offensively and defensively....that's how you win....

"Joe the Plumber"

Emm..walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...must be a duck!

"...Long before he was "Joe the plumber," Joe Wurzelbacher lived in North Pole and Eielson Air Force Base, according to Alaska public records. A family member says Wurzelbacher came to the state in the mid-1990s and stayed about four years — long enough to have the son who can be seen standing next to him in the now famous YouTube clip of Wurzelbacher grilling Sen. Barack Obama about taxes.

Kelly Morrison watched the debate with her husband in Midtown Anchorage. As the candidates sparred over someone named Joe the plumber, her husband kept telling Morrison that it had to be the Joe they know.

Morrison’s sister, Jennifer, is Wurzelbacher’s ex-wife. They’ve known him for years. At one point, Joe worked as Morrison’s plumber when they both lived in Arizona.

Then someone on TV said Joe’s last name.

“I’m like, 'That’s Joe!’ And (my husband) said, 'I’ve been trying to tell you that the whole time,” Morrison said.

Alaska records show Wurzelbacher listed a North Pole address in 1992 and 1993, and Eielson Air Force Base address in ’94 and ’95. He applied for hunting permits, owned an old Ford and a new Dodge, and paid a $76 fine in Fairbanks court for speeding.

It was unclear Thursday afternoon whether Wurzelbacher registered to vote while living in Alaska, and if so with which party, Division of Elections Director Gail Fenumiai wrote in an e-mail.

Wurzelbacher’s son was born in the Fairbanks area in 1995, Morrison said..."

Anchorage Daily News: http://community.adn.com/adn/node/132881

McCain.......Can't Get a Grip

Afraid Sen. McCain is like a man in quicksand, can't find solid ground to stand on...every time he reaches for a tree branch for support it breaks off....he just doesn't have the arsenal of solutions for the American families...without batting an eye he thought Joe the Plumber (representative of average Joe) was some how detrimental towards Sen. Obama so he played it up that the guy questioned Sen. Obama's plan to tax families whose income is over 250,000.00 a year....but McCain didn't know that Joe wasn't a licensed plumber and wasn't financially anywhere near acquiring the business he worked for as he had said, though the company he works for has license, the company said they don't generate anywhere near 250,000.00 annually and not any plumbers they know does, even though some of the larger ones do....now McCain says the media is smearing Joe the Plumber....but, he's the one who introduce the world to Joe...Joe owes back taxes also....whew..... then McCain's camp calls Sen. Obama a liar because Sen. Obama says that McCain's health care plan will tax the insurance coverage cost to the employee, they say McCain's plan will not tax procedures or medication, but his camp didn't say that the coverage would not be taxed...McCain is ready to cut Medicare and damage the already fragile livelihood of over 50 million Americans that includes retirees and the disabled, since Pres. Bush was unable to destroy Social Security if it had've been privatized and placed on the stock market, he would have, McCain wants to try his hand at it, at least cutting out parts of the benefits. Next, McCain offers a 5,000.00 credit to purchase insurance coverage for workers, while the average family insurance coverage cost is over 12,000.00, not going to go over too well buddy. He said economics wasn't his strong suit and neither is it for his advisors...and here are some other not so strong decisions, Sarah Palin, Ayers, surge, surge, ACORN, Sen. Obama's spending plan, tax plan....McCain spends too much time on attacks and will not stay focused on any issue, not one, that's why he doesn't have a grasp on the economy or much of anything else...like I said before, McCain deserves respect, but he is not the man for the Oval Office, there is no Maverick Oval Office manual, so he will only resort to the Republican manual book and paths and those are paths of destruction....AIG, Fannie, Freddie, Lehman Brothers, Washington Mutual and a number of banks, GM, 700 billion dollar rescue plan, stock market sitting on a fault line, loss of homes, loss of jobs, and the list continues.....

Aiken County satellite voting offices for absentee ballots closed

http://www.aikenstandard.com/local/1014Absentee

Satellite voting offices for absentee ballots closed
Much shouting, arguing and two executive sessions led to a fairly ambiguous end to an emergency meeting Monday but resulted in the closing of satellite voting offices for absentee ballots.

Those wishing to cast an absentee ballot in Aiken will have to do so at the Aiken County Election Commission Office on Vaucluse Road and not at any previously designated areas. The emergency meeting of the Registration and Elections Commission was held Monday evening after officials received a letter from a Simpsonville attorney challenging the legality of receiving votes outside the main office..........

The Simpsonville attorney, Todd Kincannon, 27, practices in Columbia and is a major player in the S.C. Republican Party, serving as counsel and parliamentarian. Kincannon attended the meeting and stated his case repeatedly that his interpretation of the applicable statutes meant only voting at a specific location.

Kincannon, who has been practicing law for less than a year, has already received awards from the State GOP and has written amicus briefs for them to the U.S. Supreme Court..........

Return To Civility

Sen. Obama commended Sen. McCain for his willingness to quell the unbelievable dissention growing in his camp...McCain made a call to show respect for Sen. Obama......though we have a right as Americans to free speech, to shout "off with his head", "kill him", "liar", and "traitor" were too extreme, to say the least..Everyone will not agree with Republican ideologies, everyone won't agree with Democrat or Independent ideologies as well, that's why there is a choice...some people have gone too far...if a child were dying from thirst would you ask, "Are you Republican or Democrat" before giving him water?? This nation, may be that child. The mystique, the legacy and the greatness of America will not be the glamor and fashions of cars, clothes, technology, and Hollywood...it will be if the people as one nation, promoted wisdom(vision) and advocated the quality of life for our planet........or are we to be remembered as one nation of vanity, selfish ignorance(small mindedness) and agents of death..... especially when someone was different than we were....

Price of Deception

Since the abandonment of the gold standard, 1971 ([R]President Nixon's term) the United States and the world has virtually exchanged trade on a reserve currency (dollar). Years of unregulated national trade deficit has grown so large that it was foreseen by Alan Greenspan in Sept. 2007 as jeopardizing the dollar to be replaced by the Euro by 2020 if the dollar continues to depreciate. But today, Oct.10,2008 the Euro is worth $1.34 and the Pound $1.70...So now that the stock market is deflating its value and the dollar sees a minimal rise in value towards par, the global markets will need restructuring of the global monetary system, to include Europe, China and Japan.....profit on a paper money system was a stretch by any calculation without oil or gold as a global denominator, then compounded in debt, greed and mismanagement broadened depreciation of the dollar....by Islamic Law, some countries are beginning to form a system where there is no interest paid on their dollar(dinar), usury, which is also a law in the original Biblical teachings that is not recognized by capitalist societies.....that's another story, but would have an effect on the oil producing nations that maybe Islamic.....one of the untold reasons for abandoning oil as national fuel and a global commodity....so after the resolution of our immediate economic situation, which Sen. Obama has devised a brilliant plan of shoring up small businesses and job creation.... along with the homeowner relief package, embedded in the Congressional rescue deal......America must endure a long recovery and awaken to truly a new world...sharing the lead as a global leader.....

Bush to better America, another was well, you know, imminent danger from Iraq...but, getting back to privatization, you see this idea of privatizing isn't just a Bush idea..it is the ideology of the Republican Party...if anything can't make a profit or be privatized, it's considered Socialism, Communism or Big Government...now making a profit is not all bad, in fact in some circumstances it creates quality and efficiency...but when corruption or deceit enters the equation....privatizing for profit is no longer in the national interest or private interest when that person or group is caught(unnecessary war, mortgage, credit, and stock market crisis)....some reach for morality in their defense, but they have no morals, privatizing prisons and education, a cycle of profit, but detriment to society ....that's why you see false attacks and lies freely spoken from the Republican Party (McCain's Campaign) towards the Democrats, no morals, yet even their health care plan is a failure from making profits for the drug companies, but leaving the American people in peril...Sen. Obama is hesitant to throw the first punch, but he will throw the last because of wisdom and justice and well being for the American people by planning an accountable government and ethical business transactions,....... one of the main duties of establishing this nation by the Founding Fathers was to promote general welfare, justice and national defense, so.... there is your patriotism(doubters) and here comes the last blow.....TKO

Oct. 7 Debate

Congraulations To My President !

Senator and our first lady (smile) are the classic example of elegance and grace. He won that debate hands down. Just watching the two after the debate working the crowd shows they are people oriented. Michelle worked the crowd while Cindy stood back. He will be a great leader ! The polls all across the net shows he was favored. Let's hope that everyone voting was of age. (smile)

On the other hand, Senator Biden of course won the debate with Sarah Palin, but to me seemed to be in a somewhat somber mood. My condolences to the family for their lost. I also understand Senator Biden's feelings about sending a child to Iraq. I also had a child in Iraq, when I put him on that plane, eight years ago, I asked him "Are you scared?" He said "Yes," I said, "Me too," but when he came home this time, he got out of the military.

I figured Senator Biden was in a somber mood because of what was happening in his personal life or he was just totally pissed because he had to debate a total inexperienced air-head ! How dare she call Senator Obama inexperienced. ("I can see Russia from my back yard") Oh lawd !!

Senator Obama is poised, knowledgeable and brilliant. Race has to be a factor in this contest, because by all measurements Senator Obama should be so far ahead of these air-heads in the polls that the election should be over already!

Time To Get Real

All the classic symptoms of a deep recession or Depression is evident in the national economy, which in turn has the global economy unstable.......The Republican Party solution is a smear campaigning Pirate and Parrot at the head of their ship, the pirate is a Republican maverick(rebel)hothead, opportunist, deceitful,.... descriptive words of close acquaintances of the Republican Presidential nominee, not mine and the parrot is a cue card reciting colorfully feathered "squawking maverick" (can't be interviewed without sitting on the shoulder of the pirate)those words are mine.....lets get real...the Great Depression was brought about in the same manner as this crisis, hands off - lame duck government, excessive credit, rising unemployment, inequality in wealth distribution(institutionally implemented, no 40 acres and a mule, hello..nationally created lowest class, compounded with the influx of immigrants), bank failures, and stock market flight.......it took a Democratic President to painfully and for nearly 10 years regain the confidence and structure for a productive nation.....play games if you want to, you see what happens when you questionably select partisanship for leadership...you get two extremely costing wars and an economic disaster.....we know President Bush tried to do what he could, but he wasn't the guy for the job...neither is Sen. McCain who's only talent seems to be smear tactics that are repeated by his parrot after being coached....American people don't need or deserve this mess, we must find solutions............ the alternative is an openly honest, vital and brilliant young statesman, Sen. Barack Obama.... ...who's only misgivings may have been when he exposed on-line for public view, the spending behavior like, lobbying, earmarks, taxbreaks and etc., of elected officials in 2006, the same year the mortgage crisis was exposed..(house flipping and granting uncovered loans) and for some of narrow vision, too much pigmentation....

Sen. Biden wins debate as expected.....Obama/Biden is a winning ticket.......though the Republican VP candidate performed better than her recent interviews..she still avoided squarely answering some questions and stated points that were not factual....all said, the McCain/Palin ticket is a sinking ship..and the few holes plugged up will not prevent the ship from going down.....we are experiencing the economic result of a plugged hole ship nationally.....you see memorizing note cards and imitating geniune leadership can be detected and its not the answer.....and for these critical times a keen mind accompanied with a geniune master mind group is needed, and just happens to be the Democratic Party nominee for president, Sen. Barack Obama and vice president Sen. Joe Biden......we the people, must keep our heads above water...

Days Ahead

Sen. Barack Obama delivered a speech to promote confidence and courage to a Wisconsin crowd today that displayed something incredible...he has become even more presidential than before...commanding with brilliance and relating a vision of resolution that connected overwhelmingly with the people...if you think about it, his approach has always been one of brilliance from the start...defying the odds with precision, that he could forge support from the American people, not the big interest groups and lobbyists like the other candidate...that's why the other candidate went into a panic when the banking and wall street industry's situation became more intense....we don't need someone who will tremble and grow faint of heart, no, no, we need strength and brilliance and sincerity because the days ahead may very well be some of the most difficult due to the credit and mortgage crisis, but the American spirit must prevail through confidence and courage.......

Timmons, Sr, Rick Davis, Phil Gramm, Wayne Berman, Charlie Black, John Lehman, Jr and dozens more....Phil Gramm's wife, Wendy, was on the board of Enron, Phil Gramm, himself was the architect for deregulations that gave corporations lawful pursuit of sub-prime rates and other marginal business practices,...Timmons is considered the Dean of DC Lobbyists, powerful, old school power broker, Rick Davis, you know, Freddie Mac "consultant"...research any of them and you'll find ties to Wall Street and Lawmakers, there are at least 20 more....McCain didn't return to Washington in the interest of the people(country first)...he returned in the interest of his people...nice try........he requested Sen. Obama to accompany him to the White House, you knew then he didn't want to be the only candidate to photo-op with Bush....(his gratitude for hijacking Sen. Obama has stated over and over, " the American families are hurting", McCain, "economy is fundamentally strong", when McCain's boys are ready to take a huge hit, from the insolvency of Freddie Mac and the other domino companies in line, then the economy is not so fundamentally strong any more, he has to rush to DC....the average worker wondered why the CEOs of their company were getting hundreds of thousands or millions a year, while their jobs were being slashed or shipped off, their CEOs were part of the lobbyist scheme, the CEOs are hurting now (crisis)......and another thing, have you seen his VP choice unscript in interviews...you almost feel sorry for her, because McCain rushed her into something that was completely over her head...McCain selected her for political survival in this campaign......like he is doing now with this "country first, magic act" .....

Redemption: The Sins of A Nation

Sen. Obama, we would like to THANK YOU for unveiling the mismanagements and underhand dealings of our government......see, for years the American people were aware of the lobbyists game and how an elected official would step down from office to accept employment with private company-A......... use leverage from governmental contact to pass laws to benefit company-A or the industry of company-A( similar to McCain's staff and advisers), yet we did little, if anything to stop it......we, the American citizens allowed this to go on...either from feeling powerless or unconcerned....but after a short time on the Hill, you witnessed these horrors and cried out "ENOUGH", co-sponsored a bill that became law, that all earmarks, taxbreaks, lobbyist activities be published on-line for public view, to indicate how the American citizens and taxpayers money is being spent in Washington, you accepted the responsibility to run for the Oval Office to change it, informing and inspiring the people of the ways of their government, the people began to listen and became more political savvy and now, now its a little more difficult for politicians to continue on with business as usual.....the greed and corruption has surfaced in the form of an economic explosion, the very people they've abused ( American taxpayers and citizens) they now plea for consideration in the form of a rescue(bailout) .....a runaway train will crash, it was inevitable that it would happen...but, you are now positioned to give brilliance, strength and sincerity to a government that should have been that way as a duty to the people as sworn by oath...win the election and may God Almighty bless you and this nation before it is damned....

Magic or Shrewd Politics

Sen. Obama extended a proposal to Sen. McCain at 8:30 a.m. this morning, that the two of them issue a joint statement in support of a package to help fix the economy as soon as possible....McCain responded 6 hours later and agreed to the joint statement, but McCain had undoubtedly contacted the media within minutes or before the confirmation with Sen. Obama, of the joint statement.....McCain stated to the media that it should be a bipartisan effort, disregarding Party lines and that he would suspend campaigning and the scheduled debate Friday, until the economic issue has some resolution.......now McCain appears to have initiated the goodwill gesture and the ball is in Sen. Obama's court........ Mack the magician has pulled another quick one.......unbelievable..

Failed System

This nation is on course for a financial disaster.....all the rhetoric about small government and deregulations gave green lights to massive free wheeling and dealing, whether scrupulous or not, but still at a treacherous price, this was the Republican Party at its best for 6 years.....the very characteristic that the Republican Party made claims of.... being pure capitalist and not socialist has proven quite the opposite.... bailout of more and more private companies are now day to day and are under a government umbrella(socialism)....so The Senate stalls another borrowing fiasco because with or without another bailout, this country has 8 years of compounded debt that is spiraling out of comprehension, inflated stock value and deflated dollar value is a recipe for a catastrophic economy...more Republican policies will strangle the financial life out of this nation(there are still several weeks left)..........therefore a Sen. Obama victory is the long road to recovery, but at least there is hope and a change for recovery...otherwise there is no hope and no change, only more miserable conditions of a failed system

Republican VP nominee finally gets to meet heads of foreign states........ is it coincidental that India, Pakistan, Colombia and Afghanistan are all major buyers of US military arms and weapons.......makes me wonder...and then Republican Party requests, no media presence(reason: its been decided).......there is relative warfare in each of these countries year to year, including the U.S......While this nation takes severe economic blow after blow, the Republican Party exercises stealth in briefing a new member to The Nations of Mass Destruction....

A Perspective of Hope, In the Volunteers Eyes

A Perspective of Hope, In the Volunteers Eyes

Wow,... its really hard to believe that this campaign has been going on for just about 20 months now. That as you all know is just shy of 2 years. All the hard work, and all the sacrifice, all the hot days canvassing, and the parties, and the frienships we have made over these 20 months, all comes down to one thing... November 4th. I have sat down and actually thought about it... and come to this conclusion, "What am I going to do when it is all over?" haha I am sure everyone else has had the same thought, when all the confetti comes to a halt, there are two things I have hope for. One that Barack Obama is elected President of the United States, and two, that we as a nation have come to love one another, and care for one another in these two years we have been working ever so diligently together. I think this campaign is about more than just canvassing, and polls, and politics. It has a deeper meaning in and of itself. The message of Hope and Change, not just in our country, but of each of us individually has some how shaped and molded my future into something greater than just myself. That when Barack Obama raises his hand, and is sworn in on Jan. 20th, that I can sit here and firmly say, if it wasn't for me, then this wouldn't be happening. That if it wasn't for you, and for me, and for all of us, this dream may not have been realized, and that when I am old and gray I can tell my grandchildren that this was the moment in the history of the world when we as a people really came together. When we stopped the fighting and the bickering and really came together to help the common good of all mankind, and that I am so lucky to be a proud part of it. No matter how small my effect, I can say as firmly as my feet are planted on the ground, that I did something here today in this place. That I stood up, and spoke out, and told this government of ours, "ENOUGH!" That I wasn't going to stand by while my brothers and sisters cried the night away with empty stomachs, and pockets full of lent. That those seniors with no medicine, and the farmers with no hand to help would not wake up another day without those things under my watch. We as a PEOPLE have finally accomplished what the founding fathers intended us to do. That is UNITE, and WORK HARD FOR THE COMMON GOOD OF MAN. That is what we have done here today... That is what we have done here today. Thank you all so very much, for everything that you have done, and for helping me help us, Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Johnny Mclaurin South Carolina For Barack Obama

A Great Nation is a United One

Sen. Barack Obama has set the tone to campaign for the enrichment of devastated lives resulting from the current administrations miscalculations....but, its not an us vs. them...situation because ultimately we all share a common destiny.....his speeches are more detailed and strategically spelled out for national recovery.....this is absolutely necessary as the nation takes hit after hit of financial meltdowns and so many other crisis....All the "he called us this and you called us that", needs to cease....the greatest minds available should step up and deliver sound leadership....this is what is being revealed by Sen.Obama....one last thing i want to say and then i hope its unnecessary again, is that as McCain was speaking Monday...some of his audience members were half attentive, looking away and talking amongst themselves....and then he said, "the fundamentals of our economy are strong", a lot of heads looked his way and stopped what they were doing with an expression on their faces appearing as, WHAT???....he later changed his position on that statement...these are times like few before...and Sen. Obama often acknowledges, its not about the red states of America or the blue states of America, its about The United States of America because we must be unified in our ultimate effort to uphold the greatness promised through all those who've pledged allegiance to this nation......

Leadership Defines A Nation

Dow drops 500 points...Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and Merril Lynch & Co latest victims of tumultous economy, seek bail out...AIG, world's largest insurance company request emergency fund to shore its balance sheet.....Pres. Bush's reaction,"economy is strong enough to handle turmoil".... he has no idea what he is doing...now we have another ole chap(McCain), waiting in the wings, who has openly stated, economy is not his strong point...yet the media would like people to believe there is a possibility for McCain...I would never think the American people would allow self-destruction before their eyes without a vehement "hell no, we don't need no (mo')more" shouted loud enough for the international space station to detect....i look around at the gas stations prices and it looks like a sci-fi movie...unreal....inept leadership can produce a horror movie, but this is no film.....

Running On Fumes

Now everyone can see why McCain/Palin would like to drill for oil offshore because they are....running on fumes, clearly running out of electable fuel....the interview with Charlie Gibson shows exactly why the Republican Party had been shielding McCain's vp choice.....are you serious sir?.....as long as the hype with a fresh female face captured the media attention McCain could down play the monumental speech and gains by Obama/Biden and smirk with delight. He knew it would be short lived once his choice was questioned or interviewed...so now we have it...let's wrap this win up.....bunch of smoke screen/mirrors...McCain has found a new calling....Mack the magician....master of hoax....you're a good man McCain, just not 'the man'...for The White House...you ole magician you....

Trivial Pursuit

Sen. Obama stated that Sen. McCain can't fabricate his new call to 'change' without authentication....and uses the analogy of lipstick on a pig won't change the pig, nor will McCain's implication that shifting from 'experienced man' for the White House to 'man of change' be credible...Sen. Obama also stated McCain could wrap fish in a piece of paper called 'change', but the fish would still stink......then the Republican Party calls foul....that Sen. Obama called Gov. Palin a pig because she wears lipstick, WHAT!!!..... since when did the VP candidate carry the mantle to make policy platform for the office of presidency....is she also a fish?? Seeing that fish could be related to Alaskan wildlife???? So ridiculous.. The Republican Party should apologize to the American people subjected to listen to this madness.....but at last they've exposed signs of their elusive platform...........triviality.....

A New Man........of Change

Sen. McCain doesn't have to wait to go to Washington to bring change because he's already changed.....he campaigns like a desperate fool...one would hardly believe this is the same man who showed some restraint to his temperament and half thought out decisions during the primary...at times there was even a sense of humility...not any more...my friend comes out with all types of deceptive tactics, distorted truths, playing on the female population's mentality, threatening the media, receiving endorsements from the current commander and chief and his party, then tries to distance himself from them....and the Republican Party is so crafty they would align behind him anyway, rather than admit they have been and are wrong and allow the people to see the true gift to unite this country...Sen. Barack Obama...Just for one example, McCain and his political machine try to emphasize his military/foreign policy expertise and Sen. Obama's lack of, but no one says anything about Sen. Obama presiding on the committee to appropriate the nuclear arsenal of the collapsed Soviet Union, which is far greater than telling lies with a female cohort.....and if the American soldiers donate more than 6 times to Sen. Obama than they do Sen. McCain that should tell you why McCain wants to change........

GOV. PALIN.........ONE HIT WONDER?

After being thrust into the national spotlight, the media has given star like power to Gov. Palin...but when the novelty wears off and she begins to repeat the same tired lines and the realization that she and her running mate's only strategy is to criticize Sen.Obama because there is no diplomatic strength in either of them, what then.............and when someone asks how can you profess change if you want to drill with the same big companies and further damage our environment and still not relieve the fuel dependency plight....how can you profess change if you continue wars that create not only lost lives, but disabled American soldiers who have little medical or financial care once they return home......how can you profess change when you have a national economy with lethal symptoms and your advisers diagnose it as an illusion....how can you......remedy a failing healthcare system that your advisers say, "you can always go to the emergency room"......any idea what you are going to do about the job loss, education, energy, mortgage crisis, cost of living expenses...she nor her boss, have any idea what to do other than watch Sen. Obama's moves and come out with attack strategies. That's all McCain's been doing throughout the campaign and now she's jumped on board with the same game plan, one of little thought processing......... their appeal will be to those who have that same mentality......

Death Squad Talking

Like i said before and i'll say it again...Gov. Palin's selection was a cosmetic application and one to vitalize an otherwise dead and bland party.....McCain needed someone attractive with speaking skills, he has none...so she spoke well from script but there was no originality....and what is the Republican Party's platform anyway??...where are the issues??...the points of achievement and resolutions...there are none....she said the same attack words, pratically verbatim as the other piranhas.....no executive experience...blah blah blah...community organizer...blah blah blah...idealist...blah blah blah.......she's a great manipulator of words with a plastic smile, well it just manipulated those of us who see through the transparency of desperation to get in full throttle and effectively continue calling and door knocking and networking and exposing the true meaning behind the none issue party(Republican National Party), which is one that exercises....division of a desperately needed united people, no economic, healthcare, environmental, educational or any other national solution....but..... their strength is... lords of war...that's why there is so much emphasis on prisoner of war experience by Sen.McCain...little mention that most of his military service was one of poor decisions and few decorated accomplishments, he did accomplished one thing, became a model prisoner that survived.........and......Why are the U.S. troops being negotiated to remain in Iraq for at least three or more years by the current administration?... Looks like its almost enough time for a torch passing presidential term....and continuation of The Death Squad..

It's the big sale all over again....this nation was once sold on a deceptive idea of imminent threat from Iraq, we bought it at a huge price...just to find out later it was hype(nevertheless strapped with a 10 billion dollar a month bill)......now the same political machine sells the idea that a governor of little national note is more qualified than Romney, Giuliani, Huckabee, etc...ridiculous....some argue she is pro-life, member of NRA, executive experience, pro creation...pleaseeee, it's because she is a woman...i think the other party members have similar resumes...but not the same appeal....some try to give depth to the selection when there is none....pure hype....yes, she was vetted....haha....looking at the Republican Party Convention for only one moment and anyone can see she is a cosmetic application to a bland brand, no youth, no diversity, no platform, no victory....unless.....what are you selling again, deception??? Purchased at a treacherous price.

GALLUP DAILY: Obama Hits 50% and Leads McCain by Eight Points

Lyndia Saad reports for Gallup.com:

PRINCETON, NJ -- Gallup Poll Daily tracking from Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, finds Barack Obama leading the race for president with his highest share of support to date. Fully half of national registered voters now favor Obama for president, while 42% back John McCain.

Prior to now, no more than 49% of registered voters supported Obama for president in Gallup Poll Daily tracking. Still, Obama's eight percentage point lead over McCain in the new poll falls one point shy of the lead he attained in late July after returning from a well-publicized trip to Europe and parts of the Middle East. At that time, Obama led by nine points, 49% to 40%.

McCain's 42% support is well below his 48% top support level, recorded in late April/early May. It is just slightly better than the 40% he received at several points in July, and the 41% favoring him just last week while the Democratic National Convention was underway. (To view the complete trend since March 7, 2008, click here.)

At 8%, the percentage of undecided voters is slightly lower than the 9% to 11% figures seen for most of August, and this is the lowest this figure has been since early June. This, in part, reflects movement of voters toward Obama over the course of the Democratic National Convention, a lead which has been sustained in subsequent days.

The field period for today's results includes Monday (Labor Day), when the scaled down Republican National Convention received limited media attention while most news coverage either focused on the hurricane hitting parts of the Gulf Coast or Monday's surprise announcement that the 17-year-old daughter of the soon to be Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, is pregnant. The Republicans hope to start up a more traditional convention schedule today in St. Paul, with the goal of capturing the same kind of media and public attention the Democrats did last week in Denver. -- Lydia Saad

http://www.gallup.com/poll/109960/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Hits-50-First-Time.aspx

Echoed through the camp, its time to go to work....this is the second half and before the game buzzer goes off, we will have played the best defense and offense for an election victory. We all know our individual strengths within the campaign, we all know there were 40 million interested television viewers according to the DNC ratings and another 55 million untapped and unregistered voters...lets inform as many as we can that without a doubt, they are making the best decision and cast their votes accordingly....after we've knocked on doors, phone banked, donated, networked, positively encouraged others, attended events, hosted events, exhausted all means, we would have put forth our best offense...and you know the saying about where the best defense comes from.....i am certain we have the talent and will to win.....

The short list to McCain.......Are you kidding me?????

Those of us who've voiced opinions and views toward Gov. Palin and her baggage, maybe overlooking a key element....her selection was made by Sen.McCain. Talking about snub(accusation made towards Sen.Obama towards Sen. Clinton), all those well qualified senators and governors of his own party's list, must now listen to these 'experts' defend his rash and erratic behavior....

A Rush to Judgement

Gov. Palin, maybe a fine woman in her own right, is never the less another product of Sen. McCain's decisions of ill-considered haste and boldness to out campaign Sen. Barack Obama. Once the ploy to agitate Sen. Clintons female backers failed, his next choice was to use a female on the ticket, regardless of experience or diplomatic reach. He seeks to generate with her the popularity he lacks, the enthusiasm he lacks, the magnetism he lacks, the judgement he lacks, the oratorical skills he lacks, all the qualities along with, i'm afraid, the intellect, charisma and vision he lacks.....that Sen. Obama possess and is criticized for.

NBC news has just confirmed that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be John McCain's running mate. A 44 yr. old former beauty queen, first term governor, only a year and a half into her term, facing a state investigation, is a surprising choice.

There goes their inexperience argument against Obama.

I told my husband this morning, "If he picks a woman, it means he's scared."

Oh, . . . and her husband, Todd Palin, works for BP oil. (Gotta love it!)

The Convention

EPIC.....Sen. Barack Obama has delivered a masterpiece. Without a doubt we have witnessed a phenomenal speech, born from experiences of his life and from the lives of the people of this nation, Sen. Obama has paved a path to The White House. From day one, the convention proceeded with the promise of originality....tonight was a dramatic conclusion. This historic moment is why we all volunteered....but Nov.4, 2008 is the reward. President Barack Obama.

The Delivery of Change

The pundits, nay-sayers, pessimists and analysts were given an answer to.... if there would be loyalty of President Bill Clinton towards the Democratic Party and its nominee, Sen. Barack Obama. In the medias' own words, "he endorses Obama forcefully". There will be unity that so many doubted and hoped for a different outcome. On the strength of former President Clinton, Sen. Clinton and Sen. Joe Biden, there is a formidable force that begins to roll like an avalanche. Sen. Obama carried a great deal of weight himself, as the stand out figure of the campaign for so long, but now, now, a unified force stands with him and Sen. Joe Biden is the Republican Party's most feared rival. Those with geniune concern and talents to proceed to a greater and more perfect union for the people have assembled. The details and architectural designs of the policies are to be laid out that will heal and reform a battered nation. Believe it or not a great job was done on the psyche of the people of this nation to divide us for so long...fundamental beliefs and supports to think and behave in a certain norm was laid out for many to hold on to till their last breath. Now the mentality and heart of the people must be transformed to...one of diversity and inclusion. The change is painful and slow, but for the sake of the generations to come, change must come. Change that a people of this nation never have their trust betrayed again for the gain of a few. Change that you reward your spirit that you live in a time of the supreme maturity of man.

Choice of Character

The prominent character of a statesman or (stateswoman) in the case of Sen. Clinton rose and delivered a powerful message not only to the Democratic Party, but to the Republican Party as well. That message was, one personal battle was lost but overcome by her fortitude, but a battle that cannot be lost is that to the people of this nation. A people who rely on the judgement and leadership of those with the power and trust of the people are never betrayed of that trust again for any reason.....we can do much better than these past eight years with overwhelming votes to elect Sen. Barack Obama and begin to recover from many national devastations or those uncommitted or in denial can vote to maintain a tragic course of direction for a failing nation....choice is yours.......

We begin to see the emerging view of the Promise Land. Ted Kennedy, in failing health, courageously traveled cross country to deliver a passionately moving speech and then Michelle Obama, spoke so powerful, she drew tears from grown men and women. In the midst of assassination rumors and party dissention, the joy of the Obama girls highlighted the evening for a promise and wonderful plan, designed not by man.

Sen. McCain's campaign attempts to agitate the Clinton supporters with the idea Sen. Obama snubbed her for vp because she criticized him. Sen. Joe Biden criticized Sen. Obama also, but he got the pick, what's your point again...... is this an attempt to redirect focus from your lack of specific solutions as a leader to express your ability as a critic......come on Johnny.......surely you can do better....

Joe Biden picked as VP Running Mate!

Delaware Senator Joe Biden has been picked as Barack Obama's Vice Presidential Nominee. Biden's 30 years in the Senate, is not just experience, it shows by his record he is a voice for change. He is the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Comittee. His son is an honorable soilder fighting in Iraq. Joe Biden is the best pick that Barack could have made. We are winning this thing in November, I can tell.

Thank you all,

Johnny McLaurin

South Carolina For Obama

PS: Obama/Biden 08!!

The VP Phenomenon

On Saturday, In Springfield, Illinois, Barack Obama will take the stage with his choice for the Democratic Vice Presidential Nomination. The question is, who will it be? How will it help? And What will be the reprocussions?

Many seem to think it will be Delaware Senator Joe Biden, or Tim Kaine. Who ever the VP Nominee is I have no doubt, the policy decisions or the views of the world they have will make the Republican VP Nominees pale in comparison.

I know you wanted or thought you may find more knowledge of who that VP may be, but..... I have none. So just keep looking ahead to that infamous text message from Obama, and that announcement from Springfield this Saturday. Where it all began back in February of 2007.

Thank you all for reading, keep reading, and keep in touch. :)

Johnny McLaurin

South Carolina For Obama

Follow up on how to help Barack win SC!!!...

It has been a while since the last blog I wrote here on My.BarackObama.com, but now is the time for the hard earned work in the primaries to pay off, by getting to work even harder. Now that Senator Barack Obama is the presumptive Democratic Nominee for President of the United States, the even tougher challenge of the final goal is approaching ever so quickly. On November 4th, 2008 we will go into the voting booth, and select the next President of the United States of America. Hopefully, and willingly, it will be Barack Obama. Living in South Carolina, it is almost presumptive to think that Republican Rival John McCain will sweep the southern state as most Republicans do in every General Election, but I beg to differ. It was us, the young people, who marched and rallied around Barack Obama's cause in order to get him a landslide victory in the South Carolina Primary back in January. SO who is to say that our wonderful state of South Carolina is a lost cause to the Republicans, Im not willing to give up. As Barack says, "This Election is one of the Most Important Elections in our Nations History." It is after all a change election, and Barack Obama wants to change the electoral map, and I am with him 150%! Starting with my home state of South Carolina. We can do this, I know we can. Just because this state has been republican for 40 some odd years, doesn't mean it cant change to blue in one night. I say it can, I say YES WE CAN!!!!

So If you are willing to march with me, and Vote with me, then I have no doubt that on November 4th, 2008, South Carolina will go down in the WIN COLUMN for Barack Obama!!!!

Thank you all, It feels so good to be back :)

Johnny McLaurin

South Carolina For Obama

**FOLLOW UP**

The follow up is simple, but complex. South Carolina is a largely african american state. So we have 50% of the vote right there pretty much covered. Except the 10% who are not voting, or will vote republican. The key to an Obama victory in South Carolina will be canvassing, meetings, and helping get Obama's white working class voter count up. If we can do those three goals, and keep them in mind through out our journey until Novemeber, then I have no doubt. Barack Obama can and will carry SC, in the win column. Yes, SC has been republican for the last 50 years or so, but remember..... "Change is Coming to America!!"

Thank you,

Johnny McLaurin

South Carolina For Obama

When did lies/deception become credible?

To the editors of regional and national news media: ..... I'd think there would be a criteria for the news media to screen published writings such as 'Obama Nation' by James Corsi for factuality. If the purpose to promote unproven propaganda is a freedom of speech right, why not label such writings as fiction. Deception is a character defect that maybe Mr. Corsi suffers, but your professionalism is suspect as well for being careless enough to endorse such madness.

Greg Hambrick reports in the Charleston City Paper:

Senator Barack Obama’s Campaign announced today that Trav Robertson will be the state director for the campaign in South Carolina. Robertson, a veteran organizer with experience at the national, state, and local levels, will oversee field, political and communications staff throughout the state. In addition, the Obama campaign announced today that Clay Middleton will serve as political director in South Carolina.

“I’m ready to get to work building a great team in South Carolina to put Barack Obama in the White House,” Robertson said. “Obama supporters in South Carolina are ready to roll up their sleeves and begin the sprint to November because they know America cannot afford another four years of George Bush’s failed economic policies that John McCain is offering. With the right organization we will be ready for the tough fight ahead so we can elect Barack Obama and bring the change South Carolina’s families deserve.”

“Trav and Clay bring the expertise of state and national campaigns, in addition to years of organizing experience,” Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said. “They will bring an unprecedented general election campaign organization to all corners of South Carolina that will involve volunteers and supporters to be a part of changing the way Washington works. We are inviting South Carolinians to join Trav and Clay in the effort to work for every vote in the Palmetto State between now and November.”

Trav Robertson is a South Carolina native who resides in Columbia. Before joining Obama for America, Robertson served as Iowa Regional Field Director and South Carolina Field Coordinator for Gov. Bill Richardson’s presidential campaign. Robertson has served as a campaign advisor and director for a number of local, state and congressional campaigns in South Carolina. He has a B.A. from the University of South Carolina.

Clay N. Middleton is a Charleston native. In 2008, he ran for the SC House of Representative narrowly losing in the runoff. He is a graduate of The Citadel and an Iraq War Veteran. During his tour of duty Clay earned the Bronze Star Medal. Middleton has also worked as a Regional Field Organizer for the SC Democratic Party in a partnership with the DNC. Before joining Obama for America, he was the Lowcountry Coordinator for Congressman James E. Clyburn House Majority Whip and he remains a Captain in the SC Army National Guard.

By Greg Hambrick | Posted in News, News (Election '08), The Back Channel, Uncategorized

Source link: http://news.ccpblogs.com/2008/08/14/local-clay-middleton-an-obama-sc-campaign-leader/

If you've donated to Senator Obama's campaign, consider yourself in good company. Patriotic, flag-waving, self-sacrificing to duty and honor, company, in fact. According to the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics, analysis of records required by law, reveal that political campaign donations from U.S. troops deployed abroad, favor Obama six to one over McCain.

http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2008/08/troops-deployed-abroad-give-61.html

Smear vs. Cheer

You ever got a real good feeling from speaking with a total stranger about the joy of being involved with a campaign of this magnitude? It outweighs smear tactics by a huge margin...that's why i will make calls today and talk to as many people that i can about the importance of electing Sen. Barack Obama as the next president. There is a reason you feel joyful in doing something right....it feels right and you know its right....so let's be mindful of the smearing lies published by Jerome Corsi, but focus on our still unattained goal....The right person for the oval office.

Set On Attack Mode

The Republican nominee for president authored an article 'We Are All Georgians' with detailed accounts of the dangers of one nation's aggressiveness towards another(Russia towards Georgia)..he failed to mention it was Georgia who initiated the conflict on South Ossetia before being reprimanded by Russia. He took a stand to be firm and aggressive himself towards Russia...he's not even commander in chief(political ploy)... the bottom line is, negotiations will be required to resolve this conflict..which should have been considered by Georgia, as well as all conflicts, from jump.

I knew this was coming !! Divisive Hillary strikes again

My friends. I knew this was coming. Our convention that was meant to nominate Barack will be a mess. I knew this was coming when ole girl took so long to give in !!! (Pleas read)

Clinton Rallies Planned for Convention
Tuesday, August 12, 2008 10:30 AM

By: Jim Meyers Article Font Size

Supporters of Hillary Clinton are planning a number of rallies at the Democratic national convention in Denver to express their disappointment with the party’s presidential primary process.

The Denver Group, formed by two Clinton backers, has filmed a TV commercial and scheduled a large reception in Denver for August 26.

Another pro-Clinton group, 18 Million Voices, is organizing a march on that day in Denver “and nationwide to support Sen. Clinton and advocate for women’s rights worldwide,” according to its Web site.

Some of the Denver Group’s goals are at odds with those of the Democratic Party, The Hill newspaper reports. It wants an open convention, with Hillary’s name placed in nomination, as well as a genuine roll call vote with Clinton as a legitimate candidate instead of what it calls a “coronation” of Barack Obama.

Clinton backers in Denver will hold signs reading, “Denounce Nobama’s Coronation,” according to the Denver Post.

Heidi Li Feldman, co-founder of the Denver Group, said her organization has raised up to $40,000 and bought six print ads in addition to the TV commercial.

One print ad showed a picture of Franklin D. Roosevelt and asked, “Would Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi have kept his name off the ballot?”

The ad pointed out that Roosevelt went into the 1932 Democratic convention short of the necessary delegates to sew up the nomination and won on the fourth ballot.

Marc Rubin, the other co-founder of the Denver Group, said there is “palpable anger” at the Democratic National Committee.

Hillary recently declared that Democrats must unite behind Obama and disclosed that she is in talks with the Obama camp and the DNC about her role and the role of her delegates, according to The Hill, which added:

“Clinton and many of her backers believe that, if there is a strategy of recognizing the New York senator’s delegates at the convention, it would be a cathartic experience and lead to a more unified Democratic Party.”

© 2008 Newsmax. Health Care. Energy. Environment. These issues were followed closely by: Education. National Security. Foreign Policy. Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Our esteemed presidential rival, Sen. McCain has launched elementary and juvenile attacks toward Sen. Obama....that unfortunately for him exhibits his lack of intelligence on national issues, (like the economy, healthcare, education, mortgage crisis, credit, energy and environment... just to mention a few) and lack of tact as an individual...you say Sen. Obama will lose a war to win an election, but you sir are close to losing all dignity and integrity for the election............oh, but the American public deserves a candidate of limited intellect, but vast resources for distorting truths....is that the qualification of the oval office my friend? Must we endure, yet another nightmare....i along with others had believed you were a man of honor...how foolish of us....

We should give Sen. Clinton and her supporters, welcomed arms for her full endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama after an undeniably well fought campaign. This is the time for strength and unification of the Democratic Party. Also, Sen. Edwards, who gives his support to Sen. Obama, has come under fire for an extra-marital affair that ocurred 2 years ago, needs our good will as well. The Democratic Party is fortunate to have many honorable individuals represent similar aspirations of this nation's citizens...but, only one can and must win the White House....Sen. Barack Obama.

It's been a while, but now its back to work....

Tactics

It has been reported, that corporate media has given so much coverage on Sen. Barack Obama, the public has begun to tire from it. Some of the news is quite worthy, while other news may have the intent to diminish the value of his campaign and the position of the oval office itself. Seeing that the position has been minimized from previous occupants as far as credibility and honor, the media may take it upon themselves to mask their true intent.

Republican senator, where do you stand again?

The Republican Party nominee for president, states he stands for the soldiers...well it sure didn't show in his vote to kill 2 bills to increase the veterans medical care in 2006 and again in 2007....maybe he meant he stands with them in photo-ops. As for comments of winning wars...i don't think you can call Vietnam a victory, sir. If you could concentrate on an agenda of substance and lay-off the negative ads, maybe someone would listen to you about the surge, which again is another failure..because the ground general in the area knows the region is too explosive to think of Iraq as an ally once the troops are removed. The surge only quelled violence temporarily..but when you go against the world community and engage war with a sovereign nation..you inherit..those who despise you for doing so...in that nation and surrounding areas.
