For 44 hours, August 13-16, Claire and I talked to people about Barack Obama. Our booth was adjacent to that of the Democratic Party, so we also were able to meet candidates for office in the current election. The primary is tomorrow. People from the Obama websites visited the booth and so did many students from various part of the country. I had my iPod and played the audiobook of 'Audacity of Hope.'
The next event I will attend will be on August 28 in zip code 90064. I hope everyone is getting together with friends for Barack's acceptance speech.
What's with this new website look on my page? I don't like it. The information is not accurate, and what gives? Now I have a neighborhood tool, but I'm not in Los Angeles. I'm in Friday Harbor. I suppose I need to change some of the information I put in originally. I don't have time for this.

Tonight was a turning point for all Americans. A call to our better selves. Barack Obama is a great American and he spoke to blacks, whites, Asians, Native Americans, and Latinos in today's speech. We need to remember this day for it is the beginning of the healing between peoples of this nation and the future of us all. Read his speech to your children, send his speech to your email friends, and always stand by your friends. What we learned today is that we can love our brother or our friend whatever their point of view is, and that we can say that we disapprove of racial remarks that divide us. We are not afraid to be truthful in our voices and we can open dialogues once thought closed. We can heal and bring all the people in this nation together under the leadership of the future President of the United States, Barack Obama.
Please call some one in Texas, Ohio, Vermont or Rhode Island today or tomorrow. We really need Barak Obama for this nation. You know this and to get him elected we must all work together so please call as many times as you can. You can find the numbers of people to call on Obama's website. This is so important. Let your heart show. There is a script and easy pointers. I am a shy person and I've done it. So can you. Let's call for Barack Obama so that he wins big in these four states!
Sail on Ship of Hope
When I first heard Barack Obama speak at the National Convention I was moved by his words:
“That is the true genius of America, a faith in the simple dreams of its people, the insistence on small miracles. That we can tuck in our children at night and know they are fed and clothed and safe from harm. That we can say what we think, write what we think, without hearing a sudden knock on the door. That we can have an idea and start our own business without paying a bribe or hiring somebody's son. That we can participate in the political process without fear of retribution, and that our votes will he counted - or at least, most of the time.”
He has not changed his message nor has he been swayed by detractors nor by other candidates. Obama's message that day inspired me to become more active in the political process. This year I attended the caucus here in Washington State for the first time. Barack Obama won easily in our room. His supporters were all ages and all sizes. They all knew his story and his stand on the issues. The Hilary supporters were more emotional and less likely to know as much about the issues.
I firmly believe that Barack Obama can win against John McCain in 2008! Please lend your support
to this incredible, brilliant man. A man who can lead this nation forward to the greatness that the writers of our Constitution passionately envisioned.
More than 20,000 people showed up to welcome our next President to Seattle today. Key Arena was FULL. The really nice thing Senator Obama did was speak to those supports on the steps with a bull horn. It was raining and miserable today.
But to those of us who believe that "thinking outside the box" will make our nation stronger, Obama is captain of the Ship of Hope. He sailed into our city today! I think he took the breath and heart of the Emerald City today. He has so much support here. I have never been to a caucus but I am going tomorrow and so are a large number of people I know. I hope all over the state registered Democrats turn out to choose Barack Obama as the Washington State Democratic nominee. I supported John Kennedy as a Young Democrat going door to door in my hometown asking people to vote for him. I was too young to vote but I knew greatness when I saw it. I see that same greatness, that same leadership and concern in Obama. I see the same compassion but I see a difference that is pertinent to NOW.
Obama's take on the future is new, not old and not broken. We have to move forward with our nation, to grow is to live. We need change and new ideas. Please if you read this and you're in Washington, go on line to find out where you caucus is and show up. Support the best Democratic candidate, Barack Obama. Don't expect anyone else to do it for you. It's your chance and my chance to be part of the change. Barack Obama has asked US to work with him to change things. So show up at your local caucus before one o'clock.
Don't let him down. The time is now. The time is ours.
MORE REAL NEWS TO KNOW -- New York City Independents (www.IPNYC.org) know Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is no real friend of genuine democracy, full inclusion, and Independents. Her record of strangling Independents in NYC is a little-known ugly history to most. Though she spins her out-of-state campaign rhetoric to have the appearance of being a friend of Black and Independent voters, many Black New Yorkers know the real deal. They see past the phony "Black" speaking cadence used to address mostly Black audiences. Ask members of the Independence Party of New York (www.IPNY.org), and especially 1992 presidential candidate and Independent activist Dr. Lenora Fulani. In 2005, Clinton engineered a bogus bigot-bating campaign to have Fulani fired as an executive member of the IPNY before accepting their support. Clinton's scam alleged Fulani was an anti-Semite. New York State's Supreme Court decided in Fulani's favor, and upheld Black New York Independents' right to fair and equal representation as voters --- as in African American voters being denied voting rights and democracy by a Democratic politician. New York State Supreme Court Judge Emily Jane Goodman stated that "While the Court is not going to speculate on the motive for bringing this Petition now...it appears to be more political than philosophical." Black Independents now have more empowered representation within the state, including Dr. Fulani's potential run for New York City mayor in 2009. History and facts, no matter how hidden for present day campaign purposes, have a way of sustaining themselves among genuinely informed voters. New York's Black voters remember all too well. The likeable First Lady Clinton of the 1990s is definitely not an electable candidate for 2008, in Iowa or anywhere in America.

This is one of the most inspiring speeches I ever heard. I am so proud that he is our candidate. He is honest and real. He will choose wise advisers and he will make calm thoughtful decisions.
I know that Barack Obama will choose the best advisors and will listen to their advice. So who doesn't understand that the White House has a lot of advisers? I am not worried about his experience.
I think that Romney in saying that Barack Obama was a "Senator Killer" was tasteless and crude.
I think McCaine saying he would follow Barack Obama to the gates of hell is very stupid as well as he would take him (Obama) dead or alive is so reminicent of the talk of his long-time friend G. Bush whom he supported in every way for so long.
I am proud to support a man who is considerate and enlightened. He certainly has better manners.
I though his "granny" age 83 in Kenya was a warm, strong, beautiful woman. Hooray for Grannies for Obama.

After watching the debate on ABC last night I was very impressed by Barack Obama's effort to stay on the issues. He will do well in foreign policy manuevers because he will be in touch with others who have been involve with various groups. He has the intelligence and knowledge to make the right choices.
Let's see him win big in New Hampshire!
CNN just said that OLDER WOMEN are for HILARY ClINTON!
That's not true~ many women in my age group (over 60) are going to vote for Barack Obama because he is the smartest and wisest candidate,
Hooray for Barack Obama!!!!
