Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius is a Cincinnati native, and the daughter of former Ohio Governor Jack Gilligan (1971-1975). She is the first daughter of a U.S. Governor to be elected Governor of a state.
We are going to visit with NCRC, the Congressional Black Caucus and our state delegation in Washington DC. Any one in DC this week from out of town for a briefing on the Community Reinvestment Act and the financial crisis contact us. Goto ncrc.org for more information.
After the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC.org) call today I wonder? Where is our candidate? Senator Clinton was mentioned, yet no platform statement that deals with a national emergency from Senator Obama or McCain. Our candidate like McCain is one of 100 Americans who can solve this problem in the Senate.
We Hope He Can Change the system so that a trillion dollar deal becomes law based on legislation influenced by NCRC and its members who have a cumulative experience based of of over 20,000 years in community reinvestment.
Last night I was watching an interview with Palin's husband. He commented that the people ot Alaska like to refer to him as the "First Dude" and the person conducting the interview stated that they did not know how to properly refer to him. The young lady asked if he prefered any of the following: the future First Man, Mr. Palin, First Man Palin, etc. At this point I was utterly amazed at the lack of focus of the republican party and public at large. Palin is not running for President! He would be none of those things! McCain would have to die! McCain is who is the main act on this ticket!
People are claiming that they would vote for McCain due to Palin. I suggest that we send everyone back to elementary school and refresh them on the job description of the VP. If I were McCain, I would not be attempting to hold my head so high. I have been overshadowed by miniscule experiance!
A few days ago I had an interesting encounter with two individuals who stated that they were Palin supports (yet not McCain supports). This, of course, intrugued me quite a bit. I wanted to know why they were so pro-vp and so anti-presidential. The conversation simply became more bizarre from there. I started by reminding the pair that chould McCain win, he would have to either die or be incapacitated in order for their "dream candidate" to become commander in chief. This did not phase either of them.
From there, the female of the two informed me that she was, "Well aware that Palin was mostly anit-women's issues," and that, "she was (possibly) taking away many of her own rights." This caused a great deal of head scratching. So I repeated back to the woman what she had just said and asked her to explain to me, how that was beneficial to her in particular (since it was overly evident that she was FEMALE). CRICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I decided to ask the obvious question....."Why not Obama?" Guess what.....CRICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So being the avid supporter that I am, I proceeded to give them a bit of food for thought. Pro-Choice info., energy info., plan for backing out of the war, etc., etc. Then there was a glimmer of life. The pair looked at eachother and admitted that the only reason that had considered the McCain/Palin ticket was because the media had been ridiculing Palin for being Pentacostal.
I know.......hard to believe that people use more sense and forthought when completing their March Madness brackets than they do choosing a President.
Two years ago, I took a week off work, came home to Cincinnati from my work in New York City, and worked the '06 elections. I blogged about it here:
http://innonate.com/2006/11/02/on-coming-home-to-work-the-election/
Now, I'm considering doing the same thing... only for much longer.
Inspired by a campaign email about Camp Obama, I've begun reaching out to campaign folks in Cincinnati to see how I could be used, for a 4 or 5 week period, to help Barack Obama win Ohio.
If I thought 2006 was an important... wow.
This election is monumentally important. McCain/Palin would be a continuation and accentuation of the Same Failed GOP politicies and politics of the last 8 years.
America cannot endure another 4 or 8 years of the same. And again, McCain/Palin is absolutely, 100% more of the same.
So, I'm quite excited for the prospects of coming home to join you all. My heart is and always will be in Ohio. Fighting for change with you and by your side will be one of the best times of my life.
Is that why the media masses have been so silent regarding McCain's lack of knowledge in regards to North America's economic plight. You must be stuck within the same eternal daydream as is he.
Thanks to Conner Stribe [CincinnatiObama2008@groups.barackobama.com] for posting the contact information to check and discover your registration status in Hamilton County, Ohio.
I am hearing some very disconcerning news regarding the Convention in Denver and I felt that it was necessry to address these concerns. I am an avid Obamamaniac, but I am an American first and foremost. There is tale that during the Convention this year protesters will be placed in chain linked cages referred to as "Freedom Cages". These cages will be a considerable distance from the hall and blocked from view by large media tents. I need Barack to address this!!!
This is against everything that he is running for, Freedom of Speech and the right to protest peacefully are guaranteed by our Fore Fathers, Please say it isn't so. If Obama does not speak out against this process, I believe it sends a Loud and Clear Message that is contradictory of the message of CHANGE!!!! This is the United States of America, not Nazi Germany or Communist China, all people have the right to be heard even if we don't like what they are saying.
Please consider this, I feel as most and any limitations on our rights under minds all we are fighting for.

Barack Obama is back on American soil after a whirlwind trip abroad - and despite the adulation he met in the Mideast and Europe, he suspects his summer travels might have hurt him at home.
Hours before boarding his flight back to Chicago yesterday, Obama told re porters in London he wouldn't be surprised by a dip in his poll numbers in coming days.
"People are worried about gas prices and home foreclosures," he said. "We have been gone for a week."
A national Fox News poll released Tuesday as the Democratic candi date toured the Middle East seemed to confirm his fears.
His lead over Republican rival John McCain had shrunk to 41-40 percent, the Fox poll found.
Last month, a Fox poll had Obama leading 45-41 percent.

During Barack Obama's much ballyhooed London visit, the White House hopeful confessed in a private chat with a British political leader that he was looking forward to taking a break.
Unaware that an ABC News microphone was listening as they strolled, Obama was asked by Tory boss David Cameron, "Do you have a break at all?"
"I have not," Obama replied. "I am going to take a week in August." He then says that if he gets elected, he'll take the advice of "somebody who had worked in the White House who - not [Bill] Clinton himself, but somebody who had been close to the process - said that, should we be successful, that actually the most important thing you need to do is to have big chunks of time during the day when all you're doing is thinking.
"The truth is that we've got a bunch of smart people," he says, "I think, who know 10 times more than we do about the specifics of the topics. And so if what you're trying to do is micromanage and solve everything, then you end up being a dilettante."
