Hey Gang!
Just wanted to pass along a thought and please take this in the spirit in which it is intended. I really don’t like the way in which this election is going and I’m sure you feel the same way. In fact, I’m getting sick to my stomach! Republicans are using every under-handed, lying, sneaky trick in the book to win this election and it’s been working. Every time we think we’re ahead, the Republicans throw out another lie, falsehood or attack video and the naïve American voter (of which there seems to be more) eats it up!
Now, they seem to have bullied the national media into turning on Barack Obama by giving Sarah Palin (and her husband) a total free pass on the seemingly un-ending parade of scandals and lies that follows them around every corner. Did they give Barack a free pass? How about Michelle??? Then why are we allowing the Republicans to dictate the ebb and flow of this election and letting them decide what’s off limits and what’s not???
The McCain Campaign have NO SHAME!!! They have commandeered Obama’s message of CHANGE and is now making it seem as if THEY are the ones who will bring change to Washington, even though their party is the one who has screwed it up for the past 8 years…and people are buying it!
I HAVE HAD IT!!! It’s time that we step out of the box and come out swinging! I want the Obama Campaign and the Democratic Party to stop continually being victims of the Republicans and their smear tactics and start fighting back!!! Stop REACTING and start ACTING! Enough of this talk that Joe Biden can’t look like he’s bullying Palin in the Vice Presidential debates, he needs to hit her and hit her hard!!! I’m tired of Obama reprimanding surrogates and calling attacks on Republicans off limits while they constantly pound us with never ending A-bombs! Hit them and hit them hard!!!
This is purely speculation but I honestly believe that Obama feels that if he were to get negative, that he will lose his supporters. Send the Obama campaign a message that we understand that there is a big difference between going negative with lies and going negative with the truth. Republicans have been going negative with lies, Obama has the upper hand in that he can go negative, but with the truth!
Send the Obama campaign a message that we understand his need to remain “above the fray” but we also understand the need to fight back…and he will NOT lose us!!! Obama’s VP, Joe Biden said it best, “sometimes in politics, you have to get down and dirty!” There are less than 60 days until the election, I think it’s about time!

IT’S TIME TO FIGHT BACK!!!

P.S. Let’s also hit the mainstream national media (specifically, television news outlets)!!! Either they tell us what the Republicans have on them to make them always seem to kowtow and cower at their feet or they start covering Sarah Palin’s scandals (ALL OF THEM) as tough and unyielding as they did with Barack…OR we boycott the whole lot of them!!! We seem to get better political news from the Internet and late night talk shows anyway!
I’ve sent my letters, please send yours…AND PASS IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How Cuba will determine the 2008 Election.
Whether you are pro-Cuba or anti-Cuba, the debate may continue for centuries. One thing is certain. The nearly fifty year old, U.S. Embargo on Cuba has not worked, does not work and will not work. In stating so, we are not acknowledging, supporting or condoning Cuba’s current government.
We are saying it’s time for some of America’s voters, politicians and media to evolve with Cuba, perhaps more than any other issue. It could be said; how politicians act and vote towards the five decade old failed U.S. policies with Cuba is a clear reflection on their character.
We are saying that continuing the anti Cuba embargo policies is a clear reflection of a persons character. Whether running for President of the United States, Senate, Congress or any government leadership position; a person should demonstrated the ability to change course, try new directions and see different points of view. Especially if the policy they supported has failed for fifty years.
The anti-Cuba politicians, lobby and community is a small percentage of all populations, including the Cuban population itself. Yet the anti-Cuba movement has controlled the presidency of the United States and both political houses; including this elections Republican candidate John McCain for nearly fifty years. John McCain is anti-Cuba, while Barack Obama is pro-Cuba.
Why would any politician, business person and human continue enforcing on themselves, and worse others; a failed Cuba policy that the majority of people in America, the world and mostly the island of Cuba itself do not want? See the Election 08 FREE CUBA FILM SERIES and you will find out.
Then it’s up to you to decide when you cast your vote on “Election Moment”, if you are voting for character.
Election moment is the truest moment in any election when you, the voter stand there in the privacy of your own mind right before you vote. Only you will know if you cast a vote for character, and only you can determine the issues that reflect a person’s character. Cuba is one of those clear character issues.
Election 08 FREE CUBA FILM SERIES, is committed to bring the real Cuba to America. We’ve selected three diverse films that provide audiences with a modern day love story set in Havana, Cuba. A film that gives you a glimpse into the future with the childhood version of The Buena Vista Club, and lastly, an impacting documentary that brings to life, the hidden true history of Cuban terrorism, the U.S. Politicians directly related to Fidel Castro who continued to master mind the anti Cuba movement in the U.S. and the political families who continue to enforce their historically failed policies against Cuba on the world through violence, economics and political warfare.
Will you vote for a person who is pro-Cuba and promises to create a powerful future for America uniting the world.
Or will you vote for a person who is anti-Cuba and promises to bend history to make sure America stays the current course isolating the world.
Only you will know on your “Election Moment.”

We supporters need to speak out now, especially those of us who are black! Wright is on a destructive path and is hell bent on undermining Barack's bid for the White House.
As a black woman, I was appalled by Wright's performance at the NAACP Dinner that aired worldwide on both CNN and Fox News on Sunday evening. Coming from a family deeply rooted in the black church, I have been saddened by the statements and view of the black church that Wright and some members of the black clergy have casted. Their views are NOT shared by majority of black Americans like myself. We have been outraged at Wright and others who use God and faith to go from advocating for civil rights and social issues to preaching hate, division and colorism. His charactures of JFK, black people singing and dancing, and acting like a fool were an outrage to say the least! I for one was mad as hell!
As a young black woman in this country who is working hard to buck stereotypes, his performance only aids in making us as black people look unprofessional, racist and foolish! Barack and this campaign is about unity, positive activism and social change. Not the racist cynicism the that Wright is preaching. Wright is out to build his own notoriety and financial gain at the cost of this campaign and the much needed change Obama seeks to bring. Its a shame to see another black person working so hard to bring another down! We MUST TAKE ACTION to stop Wright and his buffoonery by speaking out in blogs on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, BBC America, PBS and talk radio, before more damage is done!
Sincerely,

Team Leader, Team Deliver Puerto Rico for Obama
California District Obama Pledge Delegate CD 50
Puerto Rico is very important and we must have a good showing there. This means opening headquarters across the island, providing Spanish campaign materials, supporting Puerto Rican and Hispanic volunteers to come back to the island, and campaigning in the way Puerto Ricans are used to by investing in carvanas and real grassroots efforts. By doing this we can take Puerto Rico's 63 delegates.
Starting late, not providing enough signage, focusing only in the North and not reaching everyone on the island is a winning strategy for helping Hillary win the island. We need to get FIRED UP and get on HQ's open all over the island and help Puerto Ricans to deliver Puerto Rico 63 delegates, but they NEED US to get on it! Especially in the East, West and South of the island! We need to use traditional Puerto Rican campaign strategies like carvanas. It is critical that we get on the ground now and work hard up until the evening of Sunday, June 1st.
This Primary is historic in that Puerto Rico will play a role in the choosing the Democratic nominee. By deliver PR it shows that Barack can win with Hispanic, women and senior citizens. This PR Primary can prove that he can buck this issue. But, that means we must get there and work hard, EARLY!!!! Not the traditional 2 week run in/run out! This DOES NOT WORK with our challlenging voter demographics! We must be more hands on, provide more campaign materials, do more constituency building, learn the Puerto Rican way of campaigning and GET ON THE GROUND NOW ALL OVER THE ISLAND! We have enough money and folks in the campaign to fight in all of the remaining contest equally hard. Coming to PR late, not having a presence all over the island, not having enough signage and not using PR campaign strategies is a WIN FOR BILLARY!
We must encourage the campaign to have Barack circle the island, and stump in Ponce, Humacao, Mayaguez, and Carolina. As well as to have Barack give speeches at the University of Puerto Rico cmapuses and Rio the big stadium at Rio Piedras.
Join us to help Puerto Rico deliver all 63 delegates for Obama. We need YOU to set up Spanish call banks, send Spanish campaign materials to the island, and support volunteers travel and lodging on the island, and the pay for carvanas to canvass the island to get our message out around the island.
With you YES WE CAN IN PUERTO RICO!!!
(CNN) -- Geraldine Ferraro defended her controversial comment that Sen. Barack Obama's campaign was successful because he was black, telling an interviewer Tuesday that she was being attacked because she was white.
Excuse me? The suggestion that people sharing their reaction to what she said constitutes an attack; and one that is motivated by her being white is absurd. It does, however, make clearer, her true colors. What she has done for me is remove any doubt that what she said about Barack Obama, well thought, intended, and was exactly what she wanted to say and what the Clinton camp wanted said. They are desperate and have nothing to lose. After the Spitzer Sex Scandal in New York, they know that the Monica Lewinsky discussion is approaching.
Add Ferraro to the growing list of people who should be "refuted and rejected" by Hillary Clinton.

As if she has not talked enough trash, it sounds like even she thinks that McCain has more experience with regards to National Security. She said that "...McCain has a lifetime of experience, she has a lifetime of experience, and Obama has a speech from 2002." Are these the words of a leader or of a self-centered, self-serving opportunist who will say and do anything to get what she wants? To have made this statement shows a lack of leadership ability, as by saying so, she implies that McCain has more experience than her; therefore he would be a better president than she would be. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Lets not forget that Bill Clinton was impeached. The next time Hillary speaks of her 35 years of experience, Barack should address her husband's impeachment, and ask if that should be included in the consideration of her experience claims. I know Barack wants to "do the right thing" and "take the high road" but this is such an important election for everybody. Obama has got to stand up and fight back and do so in a way that shows his strength and leadership. It's not "throwing dirt" when it is the truth. Believe me, if he doesn't talk about it now, the republicans will talk about it later; when it will really hurt.
Upon the passage of H. Res. 611, Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998, by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228-206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221-212 vote). Two other articles of impeachment failed — a second count of perjury in the Jones case (by a 205-229 vote) and one accusing Clinton of abuse of power (by a 148-285 vote). Four Republicans opposed all four articles, while five Democrats voted for at least one of them. Upon passage of H. Res. 611, Clinton became the first elected U.S. president and the second U.S. president to be impeached, following Andrew Johnson in 1868. (In 1974, Richard Nixon resigned the Presidency before the House impeachment vote.)

It occurred to me last night, while watching the results from Texas and Ohio that should it be Hillary vs. McCain in November, surely the issue of Monica Lewinsky will come up. Since the issue will come up at a time and in a fashion that will hurt democrats and help McCain, maybe there should be a preemptive strike now (by Obama) reducing the harm to democrats later and helping him now. The republicans can't talk about this now as it would only help Obama, who would be a harder candidate to beat. After the release of the Turban photos and the 3 A.M. Red Phone ad by Hillary as well as her desire to have Florida and Michigan recounted, this would not be viewed upon as going negative, but as fair game.
The question is who should take advantage of The Monica Lewinsky Scandal. Do you remember this from 1998:
"Pundits debated whether or not Clinton would address the allegations in his State of the Union Address. Ultimately, he chose not to. First Lady Hillary Clinton publicly stood by her husband throughout the scandal. On January 27, in an appearance on NBC's Today she famously said, "The great story here for anybody willing to find it, write about it and explain it is this vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he announced for president."
