Well, he has lost my support for good. No more money, no more time, no more passing the word to family and friends.
His statement in support of the FISA Cave-In bill demonstrates that he - like all other politicians - is far more concerned with getting elected than with doing right by our country. I hope he gets all the neo-con votes he is going to lose by this disastrous choice!
"Change we can believe in?" Lololol.... More like, "Same old, same old!" NO leadership on the defining issue of our time in history; this will be seen as the Generation that lost the Constitution.
Thanks, Barry!
It's easy to understand people, especially those of us excited about Obama's campaign, wanting to look to the future and see impeachment as no longer relevent. Here's why it is essential, and yes indeed, our duty. The Bush administration, with a wink and nod from Congress, expanded Executive powers crippling our system of checks and balances. This expansion of powers is largely permanent. While we all expect to see Mr. Obama in the White House, would you want Mr. McCain to have these expanded powers? Even assuming Obama wins, *no individual *should hold these unconsititutional powers and our next President will not only have them but will pass them on to whatever fool follows him into office. The only way to restore our system of government is to deny the legitimacy of the actions of this administration through impeachment.
A July episone of Bill Moyers' Journal featured Constitutional scholars from both the left and right explaining why pursuing impeachment of both Bush and Cheney is so important. This link will take you to a site with links to the full video and transcript of this exceptional program. http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/07132007/profile.html
To All,
There is a local issue here outside Philadelphia that may have a national impact and I’d like to get your take on it.
Valley Forge National Park is in the process of having some of its land parceled out to become a museum, hotel and convention center. Essentially allowing developers to place businesses within the park.
Valley Forge is the birthplace of our military and, I believe, that many of the heroes from 230 years ago still rest there. This project is an affront to what they have sacrificed there.
The local Republican Supervisors, and Zoning Hearing Board Senator Arlen Specter, and Hillary supporter Governor Ed Rendell are in the process of railroading plans for this facility thru, even though it appears the National Park Service and many local people are against this plan. The local Zoning Board meeting allowed comment on the ratio of about 40:1 against this project, but it was still given all the approvals the developers asked.
Democratic Senator Robert Casey and Democratic Congressman Joe Sestak have not weighed in on this.
Another fact is that Arlington National Cemetery is running out of room for our current heroes.
The area around Valley Forge is hallowed ground and would be proper for an expansion of the Arlington Cemetery.
I am asking for your thoughts on this inside a national context of how the Republicans disrespect our Veterans in life with their lack of healthcare and benefits, and now after they are gone with this project.
Thank you,
Joe Ferraro
Yo,
We all should have had enough time to recover from our primary (those in PA).
It is time to use concentric circles. By this I mean we are like a center point of a rock in a lake that ripples outward. Our circles move from our Family, our Street, our neighborhood, our polling district. No one should ripple out any further than their own polling district, especially first timers.
Never allow the campaign to move you from where you live for more than 10% of your time involved. (this is so you can help a more disadvantaged area than yours.) You will know the contacts in your own area from shopping, travaling to work, church, and school. Just the fact you will become to be known as working for Obama should magnetize others.
For this reason I am asking that the campaign mobilize with this 90% / 10% idea. Over the next month we workers need to know who voted in the last election in our polling location to contact them and say thank you for voting. We also need to know their frwequecy of voting.
We need to strike up the conversation those voters now in order to clone ourselves for the fall. If they are Clinton supporters, while still raw, we need to open the door and let them know we are on the same side.
These conversations need to be longer conversations so that your local campaign can be on the same page. Find out what are the main local issues to your poll and town. Create and distribute a newsletter by hand with local contact information. Target the following: those who voted in the primary, those who are new registers (< 1 year), new changes.
Do not mail - hand deliver. It important to make contact now. (put the newsletter On the mailbox and not In the mailbox as per federal law.)
You will need to clone yourselves and bind with others in your neighborhood.
Once you have gotten to the Dems who voted, repeat the procedure with all voters with a strong voting history.
The third pass should be all voters period.
Each pass should gain you more people who want to get involved.
This needs to be done during the summer and into the fall. You will be surprised how many people will read your document and feel good about getting involved.
2-3 weeks out from the election won't cut it.
This has been done in a town that is over 50% Republican. We won Clinton twice, Gore and Kerry when many other towns with better registration number were blown out.
It is 3 yards and a cloud of dust but it works.

Obama lost Montgomery County by less than 2,000 votes. The main reason? Turnout in the County averaged 62% of eligible Dem. voters, but in the Borough of Norristown, the one municipality where Obama had the highest margin of victory (and the town with the highest percentage of African American voters), turnout was only 48%!
If Norristown had only turned out an average percentage of Dem. voters, Obama would have won the county by more than 1,000 votes.
Was it the County political machine? Or don't Norristown voters give a care?
Obama can mainly explain his loss in PA on a failure to understand the local political process. In particular, the overriding imporatnce in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh of WAM - Walking Around Money. For decades, it has been handed out to ward leaders, underbosses and party workers to deliver the actual votes on Election Day. CLinton's campaign, as advised by Fast Eddie Rendell and the city mayors, understood this and made the most of it. The Obama people somehow thought they could just rise above this somehow. Ha! Instead of the 70-75% vote he SHOULD have received in Philadelphia County, he got around 65%. He lost Pittsburgh's Allegheny County - a county Rendell wins handily in governer elections, even though they hate him out there.
You hand out as much WAM in just those two cities alone, and the overall state totals - not to mention the district-weighted delegate results - are reversed.
You simply CANNOT ignore local tradions, no matter how distasteful they seem! I hope they have learned this lesson, but I'm not sure they even know what happened...
Now, what don't we know about Indiana Politics?
Polarizing! Polarizing! Polarizing! Polarizing! One Democratic candidate is, the other isn't. I sincerely hope the one who isn't will start chanting this word like a Mantra in the ear of each and every undecided SuperDelegate:Polarizing! Polarizing! Polarizing! THAT's why her negatives are what they are, and why she CAN'T win in November. THAT's why the down-ticket candidates are having trouble sleeping - they're worried we will lose the House AND Senate if she is at the top of the ticket.Say it again for the whole class, children: Polarizing! Now, go run home and tell your Super Delegate!
After 7 long weeks,
VICTORY-IN-PA DAY has finally arrived.
Vote early & enjoy the beautiful day.
God Bless!
Teddy
The Presidential Capability Matrix:
I have developed an objective system to determine the best next president. 0-25 points for Honesty, Heart, Helpfullness, and Healing ability. Scores are as follows:Barack = 24 + 25 + 24 + 25 = 98 pointsJohn = 22 + 23 + 22 + 23 = 90 pointsHillary = 19 + 24 + 19 + 19 = 81 pointsSeems like a clear choice for President... Barack is getting stronger every day due to all of your support.Barak's psychological make-up (ENFP) makes him ideally suited to help heal the nation.
Vote for Barack on Tuesday and be sure to explain his capabilities to the PA-undecideds!
Tonight Barack Obama came to the site of the original Miracle in Philadelphia: the creation of the Constitution.
It is only fitting that a second miracle take place here. If each of the 35,000 folks talks to 2 undecided voters, Barack will win PA and "Shock" the World.
He won't shock us -- he is obviously the right man for the job!
Peace & Prosperity,

I have worked on a lot of campaigns. I've driven elderly voters to the polls, I've stood near entrance ramps to highways in near DC holding signs, made thousands of phone calls, and stuffed a lot of envelopes.
"What can I do?" is the question I've been hearing a lot lately. First, get on the phone, but for those of you that live in PA, IN, and NC, we need to show the political establishment that it is possible to win with grassroots organizing for things campaigns used to pay for.
1. Volunteer to drive voters to the polls.
In the past ward leaders dipped into campaign coffers to pay for drivers, there is no need for this. We have done incredible things across this country the new way - with internet organizing and a volunteer army! We have to show the country we care, and one of the best things you can do for this campaign is to help get every voter to the poll you can - give them the freedom to cast their vote. Don't let age or poverty be a barrier to Democracy! It's also a lot of fun - I heard great stories from older voters about elections held 50 or 60 years ago, the crazy political machines that used to dictate who won, stories about WWII, the depression, and the civil rights movement. You will be tired after a day of doing this, but you'll feel incredible and leave with a greater understanding of our country's people, past, and political process!
2. Be an Obama Ambassador! Put out yard signs, wear Obama gear, write letters to the editor of your local paper, put bumper stickers on your car, and a sign in the window!
Most of all learn the issues, familiarize yourself with what Obama has accomplished in the Senate, state legislature, and as a community activist. I actually sat down and wrote a point by point position paper on why I support Obama so I could more easily communicate my position when speaking to potential voters on the phone and when speaking to friends and neighbors who aren't as involved in politics as I am.
3. Organize a rally for April 19 - NationForChange.com and ObamaBrigade.com have state by state areas on their sites so you can find others in your area and have a rally. In many places they already have rallies planned, but they need you to show up! Make sure you contact local TV stations, newspapers, bloggers, and radio stations to let them know about the rally. Ask them to make an announcement that it's happening and ask them to cover it!
Why do this? We need to show Super Delegates and Pledged Delegates how much support Obama has and that we expect them to support the candidate that voters chose in their district/area.
4. Set Goals - here are some ideas:
Thanks for your time! The primaries may seem far off still, but we need every vote we can get and it will take hard work to win these primaries and unite the party behind the best person for the job, Barack Obama!!!
