We need all of our active, committed Obama supporters to join our Recruitment Bonanza. What is a Recruitment Bonanza you say? Well, I see it as mobilization of Obama supporters to enlist their active involvement in the campaign here on the Westside of Kentucky, from NOW until March 24th. Supporters are like hidden treasures, a bonanza, and you can find Obama's supporters around every corner. Obama’s supporters are the force we need to make Kentucky’s upcoming primary successful.
Sen. Obama has brought more excitement, believability, and yes, hope, to so many people across our state and this nation. That new hope, those new possibilities are making us want to take a chance on politics again. We owe it to ourselves and to Obama to bring the same energy, excitement, and power back into ‘democracy’. The work we need to do is not going to be easy, the environment that we live in is hard but we are the only ones who can do it. YES, WE CAN!
This is hard Democratic Establishment, but as Obama said, "We are who we have been waiting for!" We are the prize...the bonanza; and those of us who are already active must reach out to those who have not gotten active, yet! Contact all of the Obama Supporters you know and find the ones you do not know yet. Join Paducah/McCracken County 4 Obama at our 3/25/08 meeting so we can plan activities for April, and get ready for a Kentucky Primary.
Between March 13, 2008 through March 24, 2008 register to phonebank for Obama for American and spend as much time calling the upcoming primary states as you can (it will sharpen our skills for our phone work in Kentucky’s primary).
Also during these days -- contact Kentucky’s uncommitted superdelegates, share our reasons for supporting Obama, and ask that they end this fiasco by making a commitment to Obama. It is time to declare Barack the winner and end this race. Clinton will continue to turn this into a negative campaign that can cost The Democratic Party the general election this fall. (If you need delegate contact information, let me know when you RSVP this event.)
Make EVERY WEEKEND an Obama Event by sporting an Obama Tee Shirt and/or Button or Hat while visiting Shopping Malls, Parks, Restaurants or just walking around your neighborhood and town.
P.S. Don’t forget Your Obama Sign on your car. YOUR CAR IS A BILLBOARD AND SILENT RALLY. Now, you are too! If you don’t have a sign yet, use soap to write “Obama ‘08” on your rear windshield.
How bad does it look for Democrats when one of the Democratic Candidates lays the groundwork for the Republican Candidate by exalting his virtues? If her Commander-in-Chief expertise is based on her being married to Bill Clinton, and she lays claim to many unidentified accomplishments because of that, shouldn’t she also get credit for the series of scandals and "triangulations" that characterized the Clinton Administration too? Was she by the phone when the call came about the massive acts of genocide in Rwanda?
Presumably based on a Clinton request, federal archivists at the Clinton Presidential Library are blocking the release of White House papers on pardons and clemencies that the former president approved. The archivists' decision restricts the disclosure of any advice former President Clinton received from aides along with any participation that the former First Lady may or may not have had. They are closing the doors on any information that would give a clear picture of the secret dealings of the Clinton’s “co-presidency”, as HRC calls it. It is interesting to me since she garnered so much “Commander-in-Chief” experience during this period. The decision prevents public scrutiny of documents that would shed some, if not all, light on how the former president decided some of the actions he took, such as which pardons to grant.

You have to wonder whether HRC will ever be open and honest with the American people. How can some of our countrymen/women allow her to run for the highest office in the land? From where I sit the words Clinton and Scandal are synonymous!
The only thing transparent about HRC is her negatively mean spirit!
When I look at how she is trying to taking this campaign to the “politics as usual” low-road, I still want to see Obama keep high road. I know that whenever one finds oneself in a dog fight, one must also be prepared to take the fight to the enemy when necessary. However, only when necessary. Obama is far more capable of making people feel good about his candidacy and his ability to inspire, his charisma, his oratory and communication skills, and his ability to effect change the country truly needs.
The Obama that I want to vote for is the Obama that draws record crowds and encourages awe-inspiring grassroots efforts, and it is this Obama that wins elections! He should have periodic town-halls and small group meetings where he has honest discussions with potential voters and he shows the more ‘wonkish’ side of his personality. After all, that is the Obama that keeps us volunteers and donors running full speed ahead!!
So okay Kentucky, HRC has had her little triumph; now it is back to business. Can we deliver a victory in the remaining primaries...YES, WE CAN! Will we win the remaining primaries...YES, WE WILL!
It looks like there really is “A Silly Season” in politics about to emerge and our girl HRC seems to be ushering in the season. Somebody must have told her that she was not playing the kind of ‘hard ball’ expected of her in the recent political debate. So now, she has chosen the ‘low road’ by complaining about a mailer issues by Obama’s headquarters.
The problem of course, is that these mailers more accurately reflect her position on issues than her and her husband’s comments accurately describe Obama’s legislative record. If she has changed or modified her position, she should say so instead of blasting her opponent for pointing-out her position and previous statements.
When I am not befuddled by HRC’s righteous indignation, I am hearing a Bill O’Reiley on television making you wonder if he hasn’t been sitting at the foot of HRC to learn his skills of political commentary. Although he wasn’t quite as ludicrous as she and her husband when they accused the nation of not recognizing Obama’s expertise as a legislator; inferring that Obama was a lightweight. He took the position that the only difference between Obama and Clinton was Obama’s popularity...he is a much nicer, more popular candidate.
I am still trying to figure out what in the world happened to skills.....you know, negotiation skills, facilitation skills, collaboration skills, et. al. Why does Obama’s ‘strong suits’ need to be marginalized? Isn’t he an excellent presidential candidate because his level of conviction prompts everyday people to get excited and motivated about our own future? Hasn’t he been successful in his endeavors thus far because he has the skills, ability, and expertise to work with a diverse group of people to remove a disparate set of barriers and insure successful outcomes? Isn’t he keen on negotiating levels of cooperation that work for a majority of people affected?
As we enter this “Silly Season”, which I for one sincerely hope that we don’t, we the voters are going to spend more time in research to make sure our journalist give more quotable, accurate information with sources they can cite. Maybe we can keep this Silly Political Season at bay.
Meanwhile, maybe HRC wants to be more careful about challenging her opponent to a debate...remember the last time!!?
I watched the Texas debate with a tremendous amount of anxiety and excitement because I knew that what I was watching could determine the direction of our country's future and the future of the world! I could not envision a Barack Obama ‘scrapping’ in the gutter with HRC. I just couldn’t bear to see him stoop that low. But, then based on the way political forecasters were predicted that Hillary would initiate a strong attack in order to score points against Obama, she might have been planning to take this debate to the ‘low ground’. Wasn’t it wonderful to see that our FUTURE PRESIDENT, did not need to go there!
She made all that noise about him being afraid to debate her. And she got what she asked for... Barack The President showed up...She got what she wanted and she couldn't handle it. He was so suave, poised and even very polite. He made me more proud to be a supporter. Yes We Can!
Ironically, her attack against the rhetoric has become her rhetoric. Did anyone notice Hillary totally plagiarized John Edward's previous closing lines in his debates..... "After all of this is over we're all going to be fine, this is about making sure the American people are fine" How dare she after the "change you can xerox" line. By the way, responses from Xerox is that they are not copiers...they are multifunction printers. LOL.
I think this emotion she says she is feeling for the handicapped veterans directly contradicts her arrogance towards her position on the war? When he was questioned about borrowing lines for a speech from his friend and political ally Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. He said it so smoothly, I have to say it again.....
“The notion that I had plagiarized from somebody who was one of my national co-chairs, who gave me the line and suggested that I use it, I think, is silly,” Obama said. “This is where we start getting into silly season, in politics, and I think people start getting discouraged about it.” he mocked HRC’s suggestion in recent weeks that it was time to “get real” and “pick a president.”
One of the comments on a blog last night said, “Mrs. Clinton has lifted so many phrases and approaches from Mr. Obama, and other candidates, that her accusation was like the neighborhood kleptomaniac running through the street crying, "Thief! Thief!"
When Obama responded to her frequent comments about his inexperience compared to her ‘great wealth of experience’ he floored me with the response......"The implication has been that the people who have been voting for me or involved in my campaign are somehow delusional," some say Clinton laughed, I say she grimaced. He cited the voters who support him and the editorial boards — including, he said, all the major ones in Texas — that have endorsed him. He went on to say, “The thinking is that somehow they're being duped ... and that eventually they're going to see the reality of things," he said. "I think they perceive the reality of what's going on in Washington very clearly."
People seem to have bought into the Clinton rhetoric and think Obama has done nothing as a legislator. That is so far from the truth and I was more than happy to see him touch on some of the bills he has sponsored and/or co-sponsored. Time is running out for Clinton to score some kind of major blow....I personally don’t think she can. But, WE CAN!
Let's keep up the good work people! It's obvious that Obama has done more than his part... we must do ours!YES WE CAN!!!! See you Tuesday Nights in Paducah/McCracken County!

LET THE ‘ICE’ HELP YOU “SLIP” INTO ACTION!!!!
Someone? Anyone? Let's get the word out ....Obama is HOT, HOT, HOT! There's so much to be done in Paducah/McCracken County and surrounding communities. We are gonna have an organizing group meet on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in my home, and then WE WANT YOU TO BRING YOUR IDEAS & ENERGY to the next meeting (to be announced).
So, put your thinking caps on, get your ideas listed and LET'S GET READY TO MOVE & GROOVE PADUCAH!
I have met too many residents in the Paducah/McCracken County area that want to see Barak Obama elected president in 2008 not to feel the need for a serious movement in our area. Then, to go on line and find that the closest group to this marvelous city is almost 50 miles away was appalling! I immediately got on the phone with a few of those folks to say, “let us organize an effort in Paducah.” On February 12, 2008, we will sit down at ‘the kitchen table’ and see what kinds of things we can plan for our community to get us involved in the Obama movement. I hope others will see this post and say they want to help too. On February 13th I will let you know what that direction will be and swing the door wide open for you to come on in.
Some of us ‘boomers’ either don’t have the resources and connections of the established ‘politics of kingdoms’ to live the ideal ‘entitlement’ life we expected, some of us want to see the polluted and diluted ideologies of gone-by eras discarded, while others feel it is time to move on up to a higher level of integrity in our politicians. Whatever our motives, there are some people who are looking for a leader who discerns we are looking for and what is required for success in this newly emerging generation and who translates and verbalizes the language of both generations. Obama does that and more! So Paducah’s Obama supporters, look for our future directions and be prepared to “Join Our Fun!”
