Our brave soldiers are sacrificing their lives in the costliest war in the history of this nation...
Civilians in Iraq, enraged by some excessive use of force by private contractors, thrist for revenge...
Parents, sisters, brothers, wives, children and families of over three thousand Americans weep...
And here is how our honorable president responds to a simple question about law by a student...
One man had the wisdom and courage in 2002 to say what he felt was right for usCan we save some families some more tears? Yes! We Can!

Here are some excerpts from e-mails I have sent out to friends about why I support Obama. Please feel to use or copy/paste any of these.
· Global Perspective—with the courage to say what he believes:
o An extract from his book here (Audacity of Hope)--describes how Obama was brought up to have a wholesome view of all faiths and cultures: "In our household the Bible, the Koran, and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf alongside books of Greek and Norse and African mythology". Here is an article on the global symbolism of an Obama presidency.
o See this Article: Obama's American Idea Some extracts:
§ "If, as president, I travel to a poor country to talk to leaders there, they will know I have a grandmother in a small village in Africa without running water, devastated by malaria and AIDS," he said. "What that allows me to do is talk honestly not only about our need to help them, but about poor countries' obligation to help them selves. There are cousins of mine in Kenya who can't get a job without paying an exorbitant bribe to some midlevel functionary. I can talk about that."
§ Referring to the time he spent in Indonesia, Obama said: "I have lived in the most populous Muslim country in the world, had relatives who practiced Islam. I am a Christian, but I can say I understand your worldview, although I may not agree with how Islam has evolved. I can speak forcefully about the need for Muslim countries to reconcile themselves to modernity in ways they have failed to do."
· Courage of steadfast convictions
o We all appreciate how difficult it was for a politician to oppose the war in 2002—both Hillary and John Edwards supported in then and now say it was wrong. Here is what Obama said in 2002.
o The Obama-Clinton Issue By DAVID BROOKS With the presidency, character and self-knowledge matter more than experience. There are reasons to think that, among Democrats, Barack Obama is better prepared….
o Here is my favorite quote from this article "Obama is an inner-directed man in a profession filled with insecure outer-directed ones. He was forged by the process of discovering his own identity from the scattered facts of his childhood, a process that is described in finely observed detail in "Dreams From My Father."
· Experience?
o See what Bill Clinton had to say when dodged with the same issue vs Bush Sr. JFK was elected when he was 43 years old, Bill Clinton was 46! Obama is 46 today. He was a State senator for 7 years and a US Senator since 2004 and some say is more experienced than other presidential candidates. Here is an article on other capable but relatively young presidents. Do not let the "inexperienced" fear mongers insult your intelligence!
o No Lobbyist $ accepted! Obama is not taking any PAC, lobbyist, or corporate donations towards his campaign 08 funds--unlike Hillary--yet he is raising the same amount of money--from passionate individual supporters! Is the same old Washington influence peddling the kind of experience we need?
o Read this article on the Hypocrisy in Washington? The last line is the kicker! There was a big deal made by a lot of politicians on Bush's pardon to Libby--but the same people conveniently forgot that Libby was the counsel of the person who persuaded the Clinton administration to pardon another criminal Marc Rich! Is this the kind of experience we want?

Iowa made a huge surprise...When i followed the caucus at CNN from Hungary, "there was something in the air" as we say in hungarian...I felt in my heart, that we will win...
And Iowa got it, you did it...
Thanks!
Great article on a republican webpage supporting Obamaqoute:"But if you sense, as I do, that greater danger lies ahead, and that our divisions and recent history have combined to make the American polity and constitutional order increasingly vulnerable, then the calculus of risk changes. Sometimes, when the world is changing rapidly, the greater risk is caution. Close-up in this election campaign, Obama is unlikely. From a distance, he is necessary. At a time when America’s estrangement from the world risks tipping into dangerous imbalance, when a country at war with lethal enemies is also increasingly at war with itself, when humankind’s spiritual yearnings veer between an excess of certainty and an inability to believe anything at all, and when sectarian and racial divides seem as intractable as ever, a man who is a bridge between these worlds may be indispensable. We may in fact have finally found that bridge to the 21st century that Bill Clinton told us about. Its name is Obama."

After working on a strategy with my friend Seth from Portland we have determined my next steps of action:
My goal is to have 3 Volunteers in Snoqualmie by December 20th. Another initiative I am going to try to work on is identifying an issue that residents of Snoqualmie have that aligns well with a platform issue of Obama's. Then to prepare a communication to be given at a Snoqualmie City Council meeting which will ask for a resolution supporting Obama on that particular issue. We shall see how this goes. I am also going to try to make the caucus training this Sunday in Seattle.

Q&A: Obama Talks with Rick Stengel
Hi folks,
I subscribe to a magazine called the Believer which is published by McSweeney's, a great group out of San Fran from Dave Eggers and company. I was just reading an issue from a couple months ago on the bus today. There was a really great interview with a leading primatologist, and it mostly concerned animal and human morality. A number of other issues get skimmed upon as well, of course. It's overall a great read. Why I'm posting here is because of the little bit of their conversation at the end. It made me smile.

Feel free to skip to the bottom, but if you have the time I would recommend reading the whole exchange! Interesting stuff.
If anyone else finds any similar shout outs in culture abroad, feel free to share 'em!
On the homepage of BarackObama.com, under "upcoming events" in blue box in upper right-hand corner I noticed that:
Senator Barack Obama will be in Seattle, Washington (state) for a couple of events on Tuesday, December 11, 2007. One of the events is:

I am working on a 3 state plan. I have friends in Oregon and Colorado and I am trying to get them to support Obama, although I must admin they are still largely undecided mostly on whether to support Obama or Hillary. I am going to work with a friend of mine who is a former lobbyist and current communications specialist to strategize on a plan to put our efforts into a campaign for Obama.
