... Obama on the Tom Daschle fiasco. I'm sure you already know the story but in case you have been living under a rock, here is Mr. Daschle's wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Daschle. Now how many times have you heard a U.S. President own up to a mistake? Or any President for that matter. Bush, being in the White House for 8 long years, have definitely made mistakes. Some of those mistakes are huge, obvious ones.. yet we never heard an apology from the man.
To Obama's detractors this early in the game, I have only one thing to say to you. Give him a chance.. a chance to fix this country. You elected him. Now you have to back him up so that he can do his job. The President can't turn this economy around by himself. He needs everyone's support.
The article below was posted in the New York Times today, January 24, 2009. It details Obama's $825B Stimulus Plan. It is a huge amount--a big plan. But what makes me support the President is this:

He knows the risks his plan has. But he is willing to take the responsibility because he believes in his plan. That is a true leader.

Apparently the right wing knew about this in advance and are flooding the voting with YES votes.The poll will be reported on PBS and picked up by mainstream media. As I was driving down 123 I couldn't help but notice that there are numerous McCain signs, some rather large but there are not many Obama signs.
We need signs! Route 123 (Cahinbridge Rd.) is traveled by many and we need signs. I ordered a supporter pack but for some reason it has not come yet. I emailed the store, but no response so far!
It is disappointing...my neighbors have McCain sign, but on my street there is only 1 Obama/Biden sign.
If anyone has signs that they are willing to depart with, please let me know. I will come get them and put them out on 123.
