Barack Obama is leading a movement based on values and at the core of this is the value of empathy. Barack talks about empathy and the importance of 'standing in other peoples shoes', in many of his speeches (I've collected 50 so far). Empathy is the most basic value he ran on and he says the country has an 'empathy deficit' that needs to be filled. We are forming an Empathy Values Group to build on Obama's call to address the empathy deficit.
As part of this empathy movement, we are also putting together a video of his talking about this topic to give it some context and promote this foundational progressive value. Let's help fill the empathy deficit by making people more aware of the topic. This is a collaborative project and we invite you to take part. See.
Barack Obama and a New Spirit of Empathy (rough cut 1) (1 hr 15 min) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6504935098489252112 A Chronological Video of Barack on Empathy - Compiled from about 30 of Barack's speeches and interviews, etc on the topic of empathy.
Here's a review of the video: Hi Edwin, It is truly wonderful that you and others have grasped the brass ring of the progressive movement by highlighting the core issue of Empathy. I now see that everything about the rising of Barack Obama and the revolution in America is based on this principle. Thank you, thank you for your effort and the timely reminder to me of what is really important. It's easy to get lost in the dust that is being raised by so many who sincerely want to see change and see it quickly. But it is crucial to remember why we are being called in this time in history to change. You are exactly right, it is Empathy. Warmly, Terri Jan 28, 2009.

Famous Quotes from Big Hit Buda's fired up anthem titled "ELECT OBAMA". 85% of the HD video has already been shot, we filmed in Springfield for Barack's Speech and last Sunday in downtown Chicago. Here's the specifics of when and where we will be shooting.
Thursday Sept. 4th 1:00pm @ corner of LaSalle and North in Old Town. The cameraman is only hired until 3pm so this will be brief.
We would be FIRED UP if you could make it because the only element of our music video that is missing are a couple shots of actual Chicago Area Obama supporters. Seriously we only need you to say one or 2 lines (i.e. Let's Go or We Will) That's It. Now if you want to be more involved by all means hang with us and let's finish this video in style.
For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to listen to and/or watch Buda's video on YouTube. We encourage you to visit our website www.electobamatoday.com This is why..
We aren't just some guys who made an Obama anthem much like many average musicians have this year. This anthem is the Hulk Hogan like theme music for Obama Campaigners and supporters like yourself. Most importantly, this song was also created to point out factual, critical, motivational and inspirational information to those people who have not yet made up their minds on who they should vote for.
here's my number if you have any questions 309.212.4612
YES WE CAN! hope to see your mug Thursday!

The Monday talk with Working Families in Blue Bell PA audio is now up and video will be up in a few more hours. I flew into Louisville Wednesday afternoon from Philly but not soon enough to document Barack's Town Hall in New Albany IN. So I headed out to LaGrange KY where I have temporary accommodations with a volunteer until Monday.
On Monday April 28 I need another housing volunteer to come forward for me to stay with. Could be in South or Central Indiana, anywhere Kentucky, west WV or western NC. Please email me at Support at FutureMedia.org or phone 323.819.5659 Taylor Barcroft.
I am a Macintosh and Multimedia Consultant and fun to be around. I need stability to be able to continue the videography of Barack Events, editing and posting. I will also be doing phoning and door to door work when nothing's happening and everything is posted to date. I walked door to door all day on Tuesday in the Philly area. I can provide references from the Springfield PA office as well as whom I stayed with.
The Springfield staff was thrilled that I was doing videos for everyone. Full support from their Manager and staff in that office.

Throughout this historic campaign, we have learned a lot about the character of the candidates. Senator Obama has demonstrated consistent leadership values. In stark contrast, Senator Clinton has remained inconsistent. Through this posting, I am hoping we can make a video demonstrating the important difference in leadership.
At 3 am, I know there is only one Senator Obama who will pick up the phone. There has been a tearful Senator Clinton, a mocking Senator Clinton, a gracious Senator Clinton, a "shame on you" or "meet me in OH" Senator Clinton, a "I will release my taxes" but refuse to do so Senator Clinton, and the SNL comic Senator Clinton.
At historic times like this, Americans will find comfort in knowing the fate of America domestic and foreign policy is not dependent on which Senator Clinton happens to get out of bed that day.
I am encouraging Obama supporters to please create a video of this contrast and share it with the world. Such a video would make it clear that there is only one choice. The demonstrated conistent leadership of Senator Obama.
Just as Senator Obama brings new people to politics, and re-invigorates those who've lost faith, so do his supporters in Orange County.Often written-off as an impregnable bastion of Republicanism, Orange County is actually chalk-full of Democrats.Just ask county party Chairman Frank Barbaro.
Please check out my YouTube video on Bill Clinton's assertion that the Obama campaign is a "fairy tale." Feel free to rate it up and/or favorite it if you like.
Fairytale?

Daily Kos has a poll put up today at 9:42 AM. Make sure to go there today and vote for Obama! It’s still early…Obama’s now in second place at 26% behind Edwards at 35% Let’s change these numbers to reflect the grassroots support we are seeing moving in his direction.

If the University of Nevada, Reno has its way, Maritza Perez, the Vice-President of the Students for Barack Obama UNR chapter, won’t be able to practice her freedom of speech by placing a Barack Obama sign and an anti-war sign in her 4th floor dorm-room window.
The ACLU has now gotten involved and is advising Maritza on her upcoming discussions with the school administrators. The official policy of UNR is to not allow any signs in dorm room windows—so that they don’t have to make decisions over what is “offensive.”
The Nevada Sagebrush has been doing great in-depth reporting on this controversy and contacted Lee Rowland, the staff attorney for the ACLU about the upcoming conflict with school administrators:
Rowland said this is a First Amendment issue and laughed when she learned the university banned signs because they didn’t want to deal with obscene speech.“Quite frankly, (banning signs because) some speech might be offensive or disruptive is absolutely ludicrous, especially from a government entity like UNR,” Rowland said.

“Quite frankly, (banning signs because) some speech might be offensive or disruptive is absolutely ludicrous, especially from a government entity like UNR,” Rowland said.
The University of Nevada, Reno was the first institute of higher learning in Nevada and was established in 1887. The University of Nevada, Las Vegas broke free from UNR in 1964 and began to call its students the “Rebels” to solidify their newfound freedom.
It looks like students at UNR are still fighting to level the playing field—and university administrators are still pushing back against anyone who wishes to use their freedom of speech—whether that be to support a Democratic presidential candidate, or protest the Iraq War.
UNR President Milton Glick said that “It’s one of those issues where good people can disagree on it.”
Civil rights should not be written off with such ease. Mr. Glick, we respectfully disagree with you.
