This post will be used to list questions and comments that have been presented by members of this group. Questions and comments will be limited to issues regarding this group and its activities. I realize that this is not the most efficient way to discuss items. It would be nice to have a seperate discussion board. However, this does keep the blog focused on instructional information.

I just wanted to provide some information about this blog.
I would like to use this blog for instructional purposes. To further that purpose, I will limit the number of blog posts. This should help keep the blog simple and user friendly. I will also provide a Table of Contents for the blog entries. The Table of Contents can be found at post #3.
I anticipate that members of this group will want to share views regarding this group and its activities. I don't think this site is set up well for this particular activity. (No discussion boards). I am going to dedicate post #5 for this purpose. Hopefully, the comment section will allow us have good dialogue when necessary. I will dedicate a seperate post to discussion when appropriate.
I also anticipate that members of this group will want to share their views regarding Obama. If you would like to share your views, please send me a link to your personal blog. I will add the link to post #6. When people see your link they will know that you would like to share your views with them. You will also be able to find others who would like to share their views with you. Don't forget, there are a number of tools on the Obama website for sharing blogs.
I would like to keep the most significant information and instructions at the top of the blog. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to list posts from oldest to newest. Hopefully numbering the blogs will make information easier to find. If you know how to remedy this situation, please let me know.

Hello, and welcome to the Utah LGBT for Obama group.
Thank you for joining the group. We hope to make this group a simple and efficient resource for LGBT people in Utah to support Obama. Below, is a list of actions. Please review the list and consider which actions would be best for you.
#1 - Join the Utah LGBT for Obama group.
The Utah for Obama group will serve a few key purposes.
#2 - Join other local or national Obama groups.
Joining other local and national groups will allow you to support groups that are located in your area, as well as, groups that support your interests.
#3 - Increase voter turn out.
Increasing voter turn out is the primary purpose any campaign. These actions will be the focus of Utah LGBT for Obama events.
#4 - Visit www.barackobama.com
This site is full of great information: blogs, position statements, biographies, video, fact checking, and more. The site also has great tools: personal blogs, social networking, widgets, mobile updates, e-mail updates, donation tools, fliers, signs, and more. The site also has fun stuff: shirts, bumper stickers, art, ring tones, icons, and more.
#5 - Watch the videos that are linked in the blog entry #3.
I think video is a great way to communicate information. If you need an easy way to become familiar with Obama's record or you just need a shot of motivation, then hopefully watching these videos are just the ticket.
#6 - Etc, etc, etc.
The previously listed actions are critical to supporting Obama and other Democratic candidates. However, we realize that there are many more things that you can do. If you have a unique idea of how to support the candidates, go for it.
