Thanks everyone for showing up at the Home Depot Center. We had a great time. Barack was well represented. Though some in the Palin crowd were rude, crude and angry, we countered with shouts for Obama, smiles and thumbs up. Our candidate always displays his dignity and calm demeanor. He has class. We followed his lead.

If you weren't able to come this time, you missed a treat... great camaraderie and joyful and committed spirits.

Obama's Speech Without Precedent

I am continually amazed at Obama's talent for turning a negative situation into a positive one. Though everyone tried to bash him for ATTENDING CHURCH (as opposed to chastising him for say, HIRING A PROSTITUTE), he turns it into one of the historic speeches of the nation's history. Even the pundits that I hate were saying it was "without precedent" and I agreed. Some of the points about poor white Americans were very poignant. I knew in the back of my mind that most racism stems from economic encroachment and disenfranchisement, but I didn't have the hard examples as to why poor whites should and do feel this as well. Now I do, and though I won't be going down to the trailer park to shake hands anytime soon, at least I know why people do the things they do. Rock on till November!

Nation for Change National Rally Sat. April 19, 2008

Hi there, my name is Kara. I am part of a Grassroots effort to bring Americans together to form a National Rally in cities and towns throughout the Nation on Saturday April 19th just prior to the primary in PA. We want to show that Americans everywhere can join as one to influence the PA vote and states yet to vote. Our intention is to show the world that we stand behind Senator Obama because he will Stand Up for Us! We need to show the country that we are a nation calling for and demanding change. We know that change will only come if Senator Obama is the next President of The United States. But, we can’t do this alone so we need your help.

I am writing to ask your group to come aboard and join us in this monumental effort. We can’t do it alone and need each one of you to get involved if we are going to make this happen. I am appealing to your group asking you to sponsor and organize a rally in your area. We will provide you with guidance and materials as we move forward, but our time is limited so we need to move quickly. April 19th will be here before we know it.

If you decide to come on board we’d like you to know our philosophy on how to organize your rally. Of course you can reach out to your student group and other groups on barackobama.com in your area and ask them to join with you. These rallies are meant to be purely grassroots efforts. They can be as simple as several people showing up in one location to discuss and display their support for Barack or if you have the means you can bring in speakers, musicians, etc. at your own rally. No location has to be the same. The point is merely to have rallies in several locations on the same day, same time all over the nation.

We have formed a group on Facebook called Nation For Change. We have also formed a group on Barack’s official website called Nation For Change (Yes We Stand!) to get out the word and bring more people to the cause. A website is also under way at www.nationforchange.com. We will have resources available at the site to assist you and yours in forming your rally. The site will also have a forum and other ways for you to communicate with all the other rally organizers across the country.

Today we are a jigsaw puzzle, each piece standing alone in the box with the potential of being a part of so much more. Someone needs to put all of the pieces together so that the party, the nation, and the world can see the full force of our unity and the full force of Sen. Obama's influence. We must put action behind the "Yes We Can" motto...by combining it with the "Stand for Change"..."Yes We Stand!" A Call to Action!

We have received an enormous response to our effort, but still need your help. Please consider joining the effort today and volunteer to organize a rally in your area. If you respond that you are willing to join this effort, we will provide you with some starting points and objectives to get you started, but this would truly be your Rally. We’re asking you to join with us today and start organizing your rally!
