So I got the email today. You know the one. The one where Barack is trying to take over the United States with a secret Muslim agenda? From someone I know no less. (That part was heart breaking.)

I wrote this response and hit reply ALL. Any suggestions for what to change the next time it comes around?

I just wanted to make sure that you knew that this email about Barack Obama has been reported FALSE.

PBS & ABC news, along with many other media outlets have reported on this many times in the last few weeks.

Barack Obama has been a member of the United Church of Christ in Chicago for years, and was taught by his Grandfather to place his arms respectfully by his sides during the National Anthem (where the picture was actually taken). He did, in fact, live overseas before the age of 10 but never harbored any plans of becoming a Mulsim.

2 staffers in the Clinton campaign were recently fired for spreading this exact email, but it continues to circulate. I'm really glad though that there are candidates on BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE that aren't contributing to these type of smear/fear campaigns.

I totally understand that MANY MANY people do not support his views.

I just wanted to make sure that the choices we make for leaders are based on TRUTH not FEAR.

EXIT POLLS

Just goes to show how little we should rely on exit polls!!! Yesterday afternoon was nothing but a lot of false hopes!!! If you watched CNN or Fox News yesterday afternoon they had Obama winning by almost 10% based on exit polls. By 10pm last nite what a diffrence. We need to get out and vote. How many people who seen exit poll results might have felt like not going to the polls??? They may have felt like Obama was a shoe in to win!!! Dont rely on them!!! Get out and vote!!! Every vote counts and every vote matters!!!

Newsletter/Volunteers Needed Wed 19th & Thurs 20th.

Now, it is time to put the alamObama pedal to the metal (aka: "the intense urgency of NOW!").

Action Alert:

1. We need volunteers to make phone calls to students at the University of Iowa Wednesday, Dec 19 and Thursday, Dec 20 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the alamObama office (301 Broadway Suite 106...free parking in the lot attached to office. The office door is on 3rd Street across from St. Mark's Episcopal Church parking lot.) We will be making phone calls to invite these students to caucus for Obama.
note: Students are likely to be the secret weapon of the Iowa Caucus. (Please bring your cells phones & chargers just in case AT & T still hasn't found our office.)

2. MLK March on Monday, Jan 21- We have a goal of 200 Obama marchers and need help with recruitment. Are you signed up? This is a KEY Visibility event because it is scheduled between the Nevada Caucus on Jan 19 and the South Carolina Primary on Jan 26.

Please contact Jen Romo (jenromo@msn.com) to get a list of local Obama supporters to call about the MLK March. You will be provided with a script to help with these calls and they may be made from home :-)

Future Alert:

1. If you are interested in joining a Voter Registration Team (VRT), we will be building and training new teams the week of Jan 6. Details tba in a future email. note: Voters who want to participate in our Texas Primary on March 4 must be registered by Feb 4.

2. We are working on plans for roadtrips to Feb 5 states (most likely Oklahoma on weekend of Jan 12-13 and Arkansas on weekend of Jan 26-27). If you are available, please contact Judy Hall for details (profjh@hotmail.com).

Hurray! We did it! This weekend alamObama members moved into our new office space! We are very excited and would like to invite everyone to come out and see our new home. It is located on the corner of Broadway and 3rd, just North of Downtown. Meetings, debate watch parties, volunteer sign ups and voter registration meet-ups will all be located here!

Ahead of the Game, Obama Pushed Lead Contaminated Toy Ban in 2005.

Talk about foresight, not only did Barack Obama speak out against the war BEFORE we went in, he also wrote a bill in 2005 that proposed a ban on all children's toys contaminated by lead. In 2005, two years ahead of the media frenzy and two years before parents were properly warned about the high levels of lead in some manufacturer's toys, Barack was already working to keep children in Illinois safe. As you all know, this Friday, November 9th, San Antonio Hip Hip for Obama is hosting "Barack the Mic," a fundraising event for the Obama campaign.

We need your help!

Not a huge deal, but kind of annoying--has anyone else had a problem with some of their "activism points" suddenly disappearing? I updated my profile, and bam--200 points were just gone. Just wondering if anyone else had this happen to them, and if so, if you know of a tech support email for this site.

participated in a Texas Obama Volunteer Leader’s Conference

Call on Sept 23. He not only supported all grassroots efforts in

Texas but he asked that if the Primary turns into a grab for

Delegates that Texas volunteers be prepared!

State Campaign- TOVL (Texas Obama Volunteer

Leaders) are in the process of setting-up statewide grassroots
