We've all seen the callous political smears put forward by John McCain and his cronies this week. We know it's only going to get worse in the days ahead, and unless we act, we risk surrendering this election to the fear-mongering and divisive Bush/McCain politics of the past. That's why hundreds of people throughout your community are standing up this week to say, "Not this time, not this election." Together, we're reaching out to voters in battlegroud states to let them know the truth. But with only days left, and with thousands of voters left to contact, we can't do it alone; we need your help. Will you join us?Don't worry, making a difference is easy. All you need to do is come to the nearest Call for Changeevent (listed below) with your cell phone and charger. Our team will welcome you at the door, and set you up with everything else you need to be a force for change in this election.

No, not to gamble, to knock on doors. Ok, you can gamble if you want. But the point here is to make sure that Nevada votes for Obama on Nov. 4. Can you help?
The meeting went so well. I am so proud of what we accomplished! Please read on:
While we are submitting these individual platform ideas, we believe that each idea, each platform, is interrelated. We live in a world in which every thing we do, will effect every other thing. Each of these things is so very important, yet cannot be divorced or separated from another thing.

We believe that a High Quality and Effective Education is a Right for All Human Beings and is necessary in order to become functional adults that can thrive and compete in a global economy. Toward that end we propose the following 5 planks:
1. Pay teacher enough to compete with other professionals.
2. Design an accountability system that is fair and holds all members of the educational system responsible for ensuring student success.
3. Provide a high quality and accessible college education to everyone who wants it.
4. Equip all classrooms with the technology and materials required for meaningful, engaging, and culturally relevant instruction.
5. Ensure a match between assessment and curriculum. The textbook adoption process and standardized testing prevent access to high quality materials and engaging academic inquiry.

Let's not waste time! We need to get involved now!
There are only a few short months, and a LOT can happen. We must act now. Go to a Barack party, volunteer at a phone bank. It is well worth it and it is fun! I just back from one and I brought my 16 year old neice. What a great time we had! I look forward to the next several months.
I won't be idling away my time, as I don't have the MONEY to go on a trip or update my kitchen, as I thought I would- because all of the extra money goes to gas and medical expenses.
What better way to spend the time than organizing block parties and calling people on the phone- because this country cannot wait!
We simply cannot trust McCain, or any Republican, to make the change that is needed in this country. His campaign is hiring new guys to try to tell us that he will make the difference. DON'T BELIEVE IT FOR A SECOND! Only a campaign whose money has come from those people -US- whom change is most needed, can be trusted to actually make that change. Follow the money people! We have been ripped off by those in power long enough. We need to get the crooks out and give the country back to the people!
I am very glad to see that Barack and Hillary are coming together. I have ALWAYS admired Hillary. If it weren't for Barack's undeniable awesome ability to inspire me, I would have supported Hillary 100%. As it is, I have been an Obama fan since the 2004 primary where he inspired me and many others and I said, out loud to the t.v, 'that guy should run for President!' I was hoping in that election, that Hillary had run.
The one thing that has turned me off when I have gone to a few of these Barack Obama functions, is the 'Hillary hatred'. It's really horrible! If we want to truly reach out to those who have loved Hillary, as she is a truly inspiring American who has worked her entire life for this country. The things I have heard said about her by others (not Obama or those on his campaign- just by people who do not like her, Obama supporters and Republicans alike) - truly sound very sexist- becuase they use that horrible 5 letter word that starts with a 'b'. How can we still tolerate this from others in this day and age, when we would NEVER tolerate a racial slur towards ANYBODY else!
Let's all be real about what Barack is asking from all of us and stop this Hillary hating now and embrace those who supported a fantastic and phenomonal woman who would have, truly, been a great President- although Barack will be better!
Ms Hillary is the product of the white picket fence family philosophy. She had both parents in her life in a beautiful home with all the necessities, and, yes, her mother baked cookies… They were affluent middle class republicans with just a taste of the finer things in life. Both parents strived to make a better world for their little cozy circle and, probably at times wondered why everyone was not at their success level, thinking that with just a little hard work and patience, all Americans had similar opportunities at their disposal.
We, as agents of change, owe it to ourselves, our children, our country, our world to sit down and watch this together with our families friends and maybe even someone who we misunderstand and who does not understand us either. And we wonder why Rev Wright has a bitter taste in his mouth...
This link will lead you to an article on CNN about Martin Luther King's mistreatment by the great American FBI titled:

I can only imagine the changes a 66 year old black man in our America has gone through. He is trying to have his people, my people, our people stand on their own accord and be self sufficient. I'm white. I was dealt a couple of the aces. I'm in the game for just being born white. But a 66 year old black man must first fight tooth and nail just to be allowed to watch the game, but don't you have the nerve to ask to play!!!
Trinity United Church of Christ led by Rev Wright has over 10,000 members. If this man of GOD was not preaching from the Bible, according to the church doctrine he would have been banished from the pulpit. A pastor's job is to right wrongs, whether they are the wrongs of their members, their community or their country.I cannot for the life of me begin to believe that 10,000 people, many leading lives of service and adhering to the word of GOD, are all wrong...
It is sad we are subjected to undocumented gossip and out of context remarks by our news media instead of the facts. Retractions are later printed but the damage is already done. Below is the beginning of Rev Wright's entry in Wikipedia.
Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. (born September 22, 1941) is a former pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC), a largely African-American megachurch in Chicago, Illinois with 10,000 members. In early 2008, Wright retired after 36 years as the senior pastor of his congregation. Following retirement, Wright's beliefs and manner of preaching were scrutinized by the media when controversial segments from his sermons were publicized in connection with presidential candidate Barack Obama.
This man, Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., with his colorful past and biased viewpoint is an all American calling out America to stand up and be the America we should be!!!Thank you Rev Wright for your life of service to the United States of America. You will remain in my prayers... and thru the fire you will be forged into the brightest gold... I know you are a true man of God.
Dear Gov Richardson, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for publicly supporting Barack Obama for president. This is not the first time I have emailed you Sir. I am quite a fan. You are a warrior statesman for the American people, not a politician and I commend you for your sound judgement, honor and wisdom. You service to our country is greatly appreciated by me and my family. Again, I thank you for not only supporting Barack Obama, but also for your life of service to our great nation.
Prayerfully, E Carol Miracle
As we all know, there a numerous Walks for Change going forward on June 9, 2007 across the nation. It is amazing how many people are willing to take a Saturday afternoon and volunteer to walk in different neighborhoods to get the word out about Senator Obama. Today, I had the opportunity to sit in during a weekly telephone conference with the numerous grass roots organizational steering committee leaders in the western regions (wow that was a mouthful) with Buffy, who works directly for Senator Obama and his campaign for presidency. There were committee leaders from San Antonio, TX; Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Denver, Colorado; Los Angeles, California; and several committee leaders from San Diego (Yeah!). This canvass is going to be historic in getting the word out to people who do not know much about Presidential Candidate Barack Obama. (Okay maybe I exaggerate sometimes.) I do know it will be amazing.
I volunteer with the Southeast San Diego Chapter of SD for Obama/Obama SD. We are dedicated to getting the word out to people that live in areas that do not have faith in politics anymore or simply do no believe their vote will not make a difference, so they choose not to participate in the political arena. This trend is exactly what the “Powers That Be” in Washington, D.C. hope and pray for when it comes to election time. They hope that certain people remain quiet and not cast their vote. I am a firm believer, that in order for us to reclaim our Country, no voice should be left unheard. This Walk for Change is meant to spread the word about why we believe Senator Obama is the right candidate. We should not neglect any area in San Diego or anywhere else because it is not the popular area when it comes reaching potential voters. If we do so, we will end up with another G.W. Bush as our President. (Okay that was a low blow. I apologize.)
I ask you to please join us, if you are not already dedicated to canvassing in another area, to canvass in Southeast San Diego. At this time, the amount of people willing to canvass in the Southeast area of San Diego is limited. We need help. I believe Southeast San Diego is a crucial area for our volunteers to spread the word and obtain votes for Barack Obama.
So, please log on to the Mybarackobama.com website and sign up to volunteer at the Southeast San Diego Walk for Change, or email me and I will give you the information. I hope to see you all there.
