I was reading Andrew Sullivan's Daily Dish and stumbled upon this little gem, a "henchmen needed" ad on Craigslist London:
20-30 henchmen needed for moderately-sized supervillain organisation with large expansion potential (fortresses built into geological structures, corruption of government officials, possible genesis of 'nemesis' vigilante). Electrical theme...Desired (but not necessarily required) in applicants: -interesting deformations/obsessions/powers(?) giving rise to interesting nicknames (e.g. Claws, Pyro, Buzzsaw, and similar) -unwavering loyalty -being a corruptible government official -ability to work as part of a close-knit team (unless interesting obsession is of the 'lone wolf' variety) -grudge against any well-known vigilante -flexible moral code.

Last, can anyone see McDreamy losing the trailer and putting one of these prefab green cabins on that chunk of land he has yet to build a house on? I know Meredith did the candle floor plan thing in the season finale, but there's room for both, right? They could live in the cabin until their house is built! This could be fun--what if ALL of the Grey's characters had crisis-of-conscience dramas where they begin to see the world outside of themselves more. Christina could either be emotionally stunted and say she does her part by riding a motorcycle, or throw herself into some big project to distract her from the Burke situation. And what will Chief Webber do after he retires? Or Bailey starts thinking about the world she will leave to her little Tuck (also my nephew's name!). Izzy's a natural for anything like this. Maybe she dives into a program for unwed teen mothers. Or scholarships for underpriviledged young ladies aspiring to be medical professionals? George could do an animal thing since he doesn't like hunting. McSteamy could campaign against drunk driving after fixing someone's face after a car accident.
Anyone have any ideas for Alex or Hahn? Lexi or Callie?
Would you like to see more "product placement" of green initiatives in television programs?
FAQ from SendBarackYourBaby.com:
Q: How long will my baby be with Barack himself?A: You may choose from three interaction types: a kiss, a hug, or giving hope. For a kiss or a hug, Barack spends roughly two minutes with a baby. Giving hope usually takes about twice that long.

The incredible thing is that they do not die. These things get forwarded and forwarded around, even though both the sender and recipient have probably heard on the TeeVee that they are provably untrue.
Bush benefitted greatly from these in 2000 and 2004, of course. We all saw the lies about Kerry, and you may have noticed that some of them were recycled from the 2000 campaign against Gore with the names change to defile the innocent. But did you ever get the positive ones? I got a couple. Apparently he healed a serviceman in Walter Reed with his salute, and got off his campaign bus to fix a young mother's flat tire out in Texas.
SO. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make up stories about how Barack Obama has touched your life, or better yet, the life of an imaginary someone in your town. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Thoughts?
You may have noticed an influx of posters giving us their story of having "supported Obama for a while now" but "turned off by"
CIRCLE ONE OR MORE: muslim, whining, lying, Race card.
Rejoice for them. The word has gone out among the Clintonistas, whispered like a prayer, furtively passed from one to the next, the Good News spreads: "Obama's site doesn't censor your posts!" Drawn by the light of freedom, they flock here like moths.
But the programming they have endured before coming here is very very strong. Poor things have been fed nothing but BS and Kool-aid for quite some time. The first few posts are bound to be pretty sick as they purge the poison from their politics. Like all God's children, they only seek freedom.
I've found it's very refreshing to them if I take a personal interest in their efforts, and "sponsor" them their first few days. If you have the means, offer to contribute to Obama's campaign for every blog post they write. Something small, like $5/post, $1/comment may give them just the motivation they need to stick around, who knows, maybe they'll heal that much faster. If you can't afford to sponsor them at least send them a smile, pat them on the head and tell them to "keep coming back. It'll get better."
This is a big tent, people. Sometimes folks will wander in, clearly confused and covered in mud. Yes, they are frightening. But these may be the "least of my children" we are called on to serve. Let's all stand up and give them a hand!!!!
Made it to Myrtle Beach last night to see Barack at Broadway Louie's! I got to shake his hand (twice) and more importantly, heard him speak live. I can only tell you, if you love to hear him speak on TV, you will flip when you are in the room with him. A great evening and well done Ashley. The video is about 1.5 minutes and a collection of video and stills from the evening. If anyone wants photos or a copy of the video, please drop me a message. Enjoy.

This is inspiring!
Folks, It does not matter what the Clintons did! They are exactly what Barack and Michelle are not. We are running a clean campaign and the only way we win is to keep it that way. The very moment we crawl in the slime with them we are finished. They own the slime and everything they do is an effort to drag us into their strength.
We are 3 states in and we don't have any of the established "beltway" support. You can bet the republican dirty tricksters are doing everything they can to quietly ensure they face the Clintons in November with our votes angry and divided. And with all that against us including every major corporate entity in the country, we are neck and neck. It is our money and our power against all of theirs. We are fighting the establishment and are dead even with them.
Do you wonder why every network spins every event as a Hillary win? Who buys network advertising? Hillary won the last debate? Are you kidding me? I watched it and it wasn't close. It was intuitively obvious to the most casual observer who won. It becomes more clear every day who is running a straight and honest campaign based on substance and merit versus a campaign based on dirty tricks, whining and outright lies.
Maybe half of Hillary’s supporters are those entangled in her web of graft. That leaves about half as “school fish,” supporting who they are told will win and easily swayed by negative tactics. Every time they see us with our heads up and feeling strong, it scares the hell out of them because the worst thing for them is to be on the wrong side. What they will not like is finding out they are being duped. Help them see the difference and they WILL start falling in line. The press will turn to maintain some shred of integrity. Write and call your representatives. Be careful how you speak to everyone. Measure your words and attitude carefully. Nobody in America responds as well to threats and curses. But everyone will respond to a tsunami of unrelenting reason. That is what bringing America together is all about. That IS the change of which we speak; no anger, no rash emotional outbursts. Look at our candidate. That is who he is. Be the change my brothers and sisters.
Yes, the last post about Bill was a joke! Funny how close it seems to possible. It was a joke, but this is not ------------>
The Clinton Legacy (warning Republican fodder)
http://prorev.com/legacy.htm
This just in .. Former President Bill Clinton today, in a usual show of emotion, smacked a weather reporter in the face today when she told the ex-president that there is a possibility of snow in South Carolina next Saturday. Clinton appered to lose it for a moment then snapped back into spin mode claiming, "Snow is going to make the election unfair because older people have a more difficult time on slick roads and trust me, I know slick."
The former president also alledgedly said, "This confirms my suspicion that the vast right wing conspiracy now includes that Obama kid and Mother Nature, who everybody knows is really Ann Coulter. They are all trying to supress Hillary's votes. C'mon guys, you have no idea how miserable my life is going to be if Hillary loses this thing." Before he could finish his statement, Mr. Clinton was gagged and carried away by what appeared to be two Arkansas State Troopers.
A post I saw on another blog, which I think should be heard. I'm quoting the story directly, only breaking it into paragraphs for clarity.
THE "BAM"... The OBAMA Handshake! PASS IT ON AT THE NEXT OBAMA RALLY!
Having caught "Obama fever" like so many others rallying in support of Barack, I experienced something at a Barack Obama Rally on Thursday, January 10 at the College of Charleston here in Charleston, South Carolina, which I felt was both inspirational and spontaneous! As Barack worked the line following the close of his speech, there was a surge of people moving forward hoping to get close enough to shake Barack's hand. Since I was standing about 20 feet back from center stage in the crowd, I felt the crowd down front tighten as many of us stood on our toes, stretched our bodies forward while reaching out to Barack.
I noticed that a six foot tall guy who was standing in front of me had stretched far enough above the crowd and shook hands with Barack. As the guy drew back his hand I asked him, "You shook his hand didn't you?" Happily the guy said "Yes." I then said, "give me some of that" and the guy shook my hand with the same hand he had just clasped with Barack's.
A woman friend of mine who was standing next to me saw me shake hands with the guy. I turned to her and said "He [the guy] just shook hands with Barack," to which she responded..."Hey, give it up." We then shook hands. She then turned to the person next to her and shook hands. This chain of hand shakes went on for about five or six more persons.
I did not know the tall guy in front of me; he is white, I am black. But at the moment we shook hands, I felt some solidarity with this stranger, consummated by a handshake and signifying some unspoken agreement presumably about Barack Obama and his core message of UNITY!
I call this hand-shake scenario the "BAM" because, descriptively, it takes a bit of Obama's name and it's the sound of a collision, of People Coming Together!

One of the "arguments" being used by the people attempting to shut down the at-large caucuses in Nevada is that it's unfair that the strip workers are catered to, while other groups are not. True, they had their chance to voice these concerns BEFORE taking it to court, but our campaign is about compromise and inclusion.
So I would like to share an idea from "Corrinna" on another blog: A universally-inconvenient time be selected for the Nevada Caucus, such as, say 3:30 AM on Monday morning. I for one wholeheartedly support this idea! Which slogan do you think will work better:
"Get Up at Three for Hillary"or"Barack and Roll All Night!"
I rest my case.
Jeez, I hope the Dems behave better than the republicans. If there were a locker, they would have shoved Romney in it. Anyone good with Photoshop, a post-swirlee Romney would be hilarious.
NOT THE HAIR!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
That thing is GENIUS. The logo itself is just OK, but the animation they use at the end of their official videos is beautiful.
For those who haven't seen it, it starts in monochrome, with the sun rising above a black landscape. Since you know this is the logo, you assume that's the top of the "O." But as it rises, the landscape is revealed to be the red & white stripes from the american flag. The perspective widens and the sun is revealed to be the center of the "O," not the top. It so perfectly captures the spirit of this campaign. The only knock on it is is that it's causing those of us who weren't around for Reagan's first campaign to resurrect the "Morning in America" phrase. But maybe that's not a bad thing.
The point of this post is to express my admiration, gratitude and congratulations to everyone responsible for that design. You absolutely nailed it.
My name is Michael and I'm an Obamaholic.
I know I'm not alone here. I have kept his speeches on a loop on my desktop at work. I began reading The Audacity of Hope last night and I'm on page 120. The 100 club is on in the background now, just waiting for Obama's turn at the mic.
I'm not alone. I'm seeing several others who are talking about this in the comments on the main blog. Here's the rub: is it making my life unmanagable? Can I be restored to sanity? Why am I so obsessed with this man's message, and am I just indulging in solipsistic feel-good-ism I've given six donations of $100 or less, matching two new donors. I've gone to the volunteer open house, and done a couple hours of phonebanking to Iowa.
But it's not enough, and it's too abstract. I don't feel I'm answering the call. But there's hope. I've noticed some changes in my actions. How I speak. How I treat strangers. I have an anecdote to share from this afternoon, and a challenge to throw down to my fellow obamaholics. Please Read More of my commute this afternoon.
Daily Kos has a poll put up today at 9:42 AM. Make sure to go there today and vote for Obama! It’s still early…Obama’s now in second place at 26% behind Edwards at 35% Let’s change these numbers to reflect the grassroots support we are seeing moving in his direction.
