I knew in my heart that we could win this race. ANd then when it was announced, the tears began to flow. I have been a part of history.
We must not stop the commitment to change. We must stay organized. We must continue to make our voices heard. We are a major part of this victory due to the organizing that has occurred on the campaign trail. We must continue.
Congratulations to everyone who has been a part of this movement and especially to Senator Barack Obama, his family, and friends.
YES WE DID!!!
I am tired of getting the stupid McCain robo calls. I mean every night around 9:00 the phone rings, I jump to get it, and it is a stupid robo call. So far I have had Hockey mom, Tom Ridge, and tonight some other dumb robo.
Get these jerks off of my ILLINOIS phone lines.
I received an email today from the campaign person in charge of monitoring events posted on this site that said my event was removed because it did not have a start tie and a date. BOLOGNA! I had created the virtual BIRTHDAY BASH for BARACK and had asked people to make a donation of any amount having to do with the date Barack was born, 08/04/1961 or his year of age, 47. I was at $198.00 in donations contributed to this event the last time I looked, which was probably Friday. I had emailed all of those who had said they donated and thanked them so much for the contribution to ensuring that our Senator from Illinois was elected.
I was also told that it had been emailed to too many groups and there is a limit of 10 groups to include on events. This is news to me! I receive invites to events where it has been posted in at least 50 groups.
This happened to me once before. I asked for an explanation and received a blah answer.
Today I let off some steam. I thought we were all in this for one important factor and that is to see Barack sworn in as our next POTUS. I am sure they kept the donations that were made! Sorry if I sound a little "bitter" , but what the heck! I have even created events that do not shown up when you search out in a 250 mile radius. Come on here! I am sure Barack has no clue that events are deleted or somehow flagged so they do not show up for people to sign on with them.
i'll continue to support my Senator but seriously, something is wrong when a person tries to help gather donations and is REMOVED! I have been active on this campaign for over a year!!
We have finally arrived at the moment we have been waiting for so long. We will finally have a candidate for President that we can trust. We have a candidate who will stand for us and we also stand for him. We have a candidate who will fill this nation and this world with HOPE. We have a candidate who can bring CHANGE to the way government is run and CHANGE from the bottom up.
I have been working on this campaign as a volunteer since the Scott County Iowa office opened back in March of 2007. I have met so many wonderful people who gave me the opportunities of a lifetime. To all of them I say, "THANK YOU!!!!"
I can now begin working on the next phase of this election year. This new phase will be bringing me to my dream of seeing the Senator from my home state of Illinois become our next President.
Thank you to everyone who supported Barack, worked on the campaign, volunteering for the campaign, and especially THANK YOU!!! to Barack, MIchelle, and both of the girls for without you we would not be here tonight in celebration.
It is an honor to be recognized by you!
(Guess those girls will be getting their dog!)
...It's only one week until the County Convention!! I am proud and honored that out of all the people standing for Barack at our caucus I was one of three chosen to represent my precinct and Barack at our convention.
It's funny, this time last year I was going through SO much in my personal life that I never dreamed I would be involved in anything like this, and now I have a profile here, my views are known on my myspace page and as well as my facebook page.
That's all I can think of to write right now... but stay tuned - I'm sure I'll have lots to say after the convention next Saturday.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
*kisses*
Helen, a precinct captain for Bettendorf 52, is really excited that even though Bettendorf is heavily Republican, there are many Republicans there supporting and thinking about supporting Barack. She believes that we're in a turning point in history right now, and that it's really important for us to repair our image in the world for ourselves and the future generations.Check out some video:
NOTE: We just got updated numbers on our precinct parties. Our volunteer precinct captains are really pulling it together just three short weeks before Caucus Day - we now have parties covering 1,710 precincts. That is a truly inspiring and astonishing feat!
The final DFA Presidential Pulse Poll ends tonight at midnight Eastern Standard Time. That means you only have a few hours left to vote and make sure your voice is heard.
Today is a big day. With over 130,000 votes cast, the poll is already the largest presidential poll of progressive activists this year. Yet this isn't even close to over. Traditionally, tens of thousands of votes come in on the last day.
That means the winner is still very much up for grabs. Cast your vote right now:

Barack Obama has moved from second to fourth and currently back to third. Can Obama finally hit the top spot and repeat his previous DFA Pulse Poll victory from April 2007? You decide.
Today is your last chance to vote:
The count is based on one vote per email. So if one of the candidate's messages swayed you, you can change your vote today and it will override your previous choice.
After you vote, get your friends, family and co-workers to support your candidate. Think of this as Election Day. You have the power to choose the winner. It's up to you to make it happen.
Thank you for everything you do,
