"SanDiego.California.CAN" is the San Diego County Group of the Community Action Network (CAN). All Members of MyBO, who live in San Diego County in California are welcome to join. We allow anyone who wants to watch us - to also join, but to please self moderate your writing to the group as this group is for the Citizens of San Diego County. Each "County.Calfiornia.CAN" MyBO Group is the County Group of the larger "California.CAN" Statewide Network. We also cooperate with the every other MyBO Groups in the much larger Countrywide "USA.CAN" Network. Each group is autonomous, and works together in cooperation within the MyBO Context. All Community Action Network Groups work to build our future based on Barack Obama's Blueprint for Change in America.

DISCLAIMER: Organizing for America does not work with, nor has endorsed the political activities of, MoveOn.org. The following post is an individual initiative to share with my readers a message from MoveOn that I personally believe is very much in line with the efforts by Organizing for America and the original memebers of Obama for America to help President Obama solve our nation's economic problems and set us back on the path to prosperity.

President Barack Obama – Responsibly Ending the War in Iraq

President Barack Obama again demonstrated what leadership means, especially in great country like the United States of America where there are so many different shades of opinion among the people. The art of making compromise wihout compromising one's core beliefs is not easy; but Obama knows how to do it without fear, without tremble, without tumble. In outlining his plan for a change of course in Iraq, the President showed that he had compromised between his own campaign promise to take out all combat troops in 16 months and the desire of some of his opponents to keep the troops there much longer, if not indefinitely. He takes out all combat troops by August 2010, leaves behind a residual force for training of Iraqi troops and security forces, targeted counter-terrorism operations, and for the security of our military and civilians left behind. By the end of 2011, all our troops will be out, and the Iraqis will be fully responsible for their own country, their own future...

The Republicans must have been in a long period of hybernation for the last two years and missed everything that was happening throughout the campaign period. They surely still believe that Barack Obama won the election by chance, even though he defeated some of America's most seasoned politicians during the Democratic primaries and caucuses - including Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton; and even though he won a landslide general election by trouncing America's most known war hero alive - John McCain. Barack Obama is no fool. He is a smart and tough guy. He gave the Republicans an opportunity to join in crafting a bipartisan economic recovery bill; he stretched out his hand in a gesture of friendship. What did the Republicans do? They bit his fingers and tried to cut out his hand. So he recoiled, and hit back. He hit hard with a victory for the people. We now have our economic stimulus plan, and the lazy, do-nothing Republicans can do nothing about it! Instead of gathering around real leaders in order to figure out things, they're instead turning their party to Rush Limbaugh's schizophrenic leadership. How sad. America deserves a better opposition to the ruling party than what the Republicans have offered. Frank Rich tells us in his most recent NYT op-ed, why the the Republican Party is becoming more and more irrelevant...
