Women for Obama-Atlanta
Urban women of style and grace I urge you to unite with us to make our voices collectively heard. As artists, entrepreneurs, mothers, and strong valued women it is important we organize ourselves in support of this amazing candidate. This is our opportunity in history to take a stand for the strength and stability of our nation.

Women for Obama Atlanta
May 9, 2007
Event #1
Untitled Art Show and Campaign Fundraiser
Tentative Date: Saturday October 13, 2007
Tentative Location: U*Space Gallery Atlanta, GA
Event Goals:With Obama's numbers being so incredibly close to those of Senator Clinton, it is important we keep raising money consistently each quarter moving toward the primary. This event seeks to reach out to the Atlanta art community and some of our cities most talented social voices.
All of the art being shown during the event will reflect the theme of America '08. Pieces can be any type of visual work. However, the pieces must say something about the current state of political affairs in the United States.
Volunteer Status:Involvement to make this event a success is needed in several key areas, they include Fundraising, Event Planning, Media Relations and PR, Advertising, and Artist Acquisition and Management.
Many in the Atlanta art community have already been contacted regarding this event, however there is always room for more support. The next meeting for this event will be held the last week of May dependent upon everyone's schedules!
Event#2
Day 59 GA Walk for Obama
Tentative Date: Monday June 30, 2008
Tentative Location: Lawrenceville, GA to Atlanta
Event Goals: Another grassroots fundraising effort in conjunction with the national effort Victory 2008. http://victory2008.net
This is a 34 mile walk from Lawrenceville, GA to Atlanta. Walkers will raise funds by being sponsored per mile. The point of this event is not only to raise funds, but to bring people out large scale to support the event and spread the word about the campaign. Along the walk route, bumper stickers, pins, voter registration cards, will be distributed. Those participating are not expected to walk all 34 miles, unless they would really like to! What we would prefer to do is have people walk from community to community.
Volunteer Status: At this point, when we DO NOT yet know if Senator Obama will capture the primary nomination, we are doing some limited planning. The next meeting for this event will be announced in a few weeks. However, if you are interested in participating please contact me!

In effect, we are a grassroots organization of concerned citizens wanting to make a difference. Both of these events are wonderful opportunities to contribute to the campaign. Anyone willing to dedicate a few hours of their week, spreading the word via internet, dealing with media, assisting in event planning, or organizing, there is a role for you!
