HQ has been so busy co-ordinating all of our wonderful volunteers, the blog has taken a back seat. Here's a taste of what's been going on.

The volunteers and staff at Obama HQ New York are fired up. The excitement created by occasional special visitors (Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Peter Yarrow from Peter, Paul and Mary in the last few days) is but a brief spike before the volunteers are back to work calling voters in battleground states:

This weekend we're holding phonebanks at campaign offices and other locations across New York so that Obama supporters can reach out to voters in swing states. No experience is needed to participate -- staff will give you all the resources you need to succeed. All you need to do is bring your cell phone. Nothing is more powerful than having undecided voters hear from ordinary folks about Barack and this campaign for change.

Absentee Balloting in New York State

If you are going to be unavoidably unable to vote in personon Primary Day due to duties, occupation, business, studies or vacation, or if you are unable to appear at the polls because of illness or disability, you can still vote in the New York Primary via absentee ballot -- it's your right.

These deadlines are coming up soon, so take action today:

- Your written request for an absentee ballot must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, January 29, 2008.

- Your absentee ballot application form may be hand-deliverted to your county Board of Elections, but must be received no later than Monday, February 4, 2008.

- The absentee ballot itself must be postmarked no later than Monday, February 4, 2008
