The Health Insurance Open Enrollment season is here. The Insurance companies have increased their prices by an average 33%, I do not believe the chances of Americans becoming sick has gone up 33%.
Congress should pass Health Insurance that includes a public option to insure that the price fixing by the insurance companies is stoped.

Oi,
A todas as crianças,
Luiz Carlos Caminha de Andrade.
Ps: Por favor, lembre-se de acrescentar um pouco mais de sal no tempero e sabor à comida.
President Barack Obama is sending Attorney General Eric Holder and Education Secretary Arne Duncan to Chicago next week to discuss the recent beating death of a 16-year-old honors student.
I would like to add that this is larger than Chicago Public Schools and that the day after Derrion Albert was brutally murdered, two cousins - one attending the University of Illinois @ Urbana and the other attending DeVry were murdered in Chicago too.
They were Percy Day, 17 years of age and Tyrone Williams, 19 years of age.
I also would like to recommend to Chicago officials that some energy should go to address the protection of our children and Chicago taxpayers. I understand the hopes, energy and resources being given to inviting international athletes and tourists to this city for the 2016 Olympic Games, but I was taught as a child growing up to clean my house before I invited company.
If we are going to fight let's go for the real thing.
Enough with the Public Option, it covers, at best 5% of us, when Obama says, if you like what you have you can keep it, the most important statement is lacking: if you hate it, you can leave it. All the PO does is to create another entitlement for people to resent.
By eliminating the middleman, you pay a lot less and Drs get pay better.
Single payer is actually an easier sale, as it answers that very human question: "What's in it for me?"

Not much is really being discussed from our leaders in Washington, DC on actual 'health care.' It appears as though if we actually limited input to facts, there are some in congress that would have to leave the 'grown folks' table. The underground southerners who dislike a black man speaking to their children or even addressing them in congress are creating a sidebar that the majority of Americans need to shut down ... that our President needs to shut down. I fear that we are appearing weak because we buckle, we bend and we accommodate pure nonsense based on rhetoric and not facts.
I would like to see my President stand strong, not bend, not accommodate and not acknowledge the nonsense. A health care plan without a public option is nonsense and a waste of taxpayer time and money. We need a national call of all those who have NO HEALTH INSURANCE AT ALL to meet at the front door of the White House. These are the individuals that need our attention. These are the individuals who deserve to hear from the President and the rest of America needs to know how many there are.
No more attention to the hecklers or racists who have a campaign to discredit our President. The next time President Barack Obama wishes to speak to children in the United States about the importance of education, he should do so. Those unwilling to allow their children to listen to a President of the United States should consider not accepting ANY Federal funding from the U.S. Department of Education. The next time President Barack Obama wishes to speak to Congress about anything he should do so. Those who are ignorant of decorum and Roberts Rules of Order should be dismissed - not tolerated. Let them explain that to their constituencies who need health care and due to irresponsibility, no longer have a seat at the table.
The allowances for the sick-minded, twisted AND - dare I say - unpatriotic needs to stop.
I love my President, I will do whatever I can to help him succeed and win another term!
When I was born in April 1978, the world was also a baby in comparison to what it is today. It is true, men had already reached moon and Brazilians were three times soccer world champpions;58,62 and 1970.
The episodes I like to remember the most, start with memories of the times Brazilian National Soccer Team or I were in American soil. When Mr. Zagallo and captain at the time, Dunga, raized the FIFA Thopheum first time in 1994, I was in Recife , jumping, yelling and burning some fireworks, feeling a real positive vibration, I cried!
In 2002 , I not only cried but I got crazy followed by my family , some friends and curious people on the streets of Chicago, along Michigan avenue and in front of the art museum, waving to some tourists(most of them Asian),talking to some English residents and explaining Chicago’s Police it was just our funny way to express our art, then thank them all for observing and registering that important moment. As any American Brazilian or Brazilian American in Chicago, we celebrated with barbecue, in a park by Lake Michigan shore. Unbelievable ! That is why I believe things are suppose to change and become better, I have seen the unbelievable and, I swear, it was through a modest 19” tv screen,at coke early in the morning, then at China´s house, one of my friends in Illinois. The craziness was about being “penta” something our Youth, our Parents and Grand’s worked and prayed for ,in Brazil and outside it during the referred period of time. Next day, when I opened my eyes I was on 290 bus westbound to Coca Cola Lakeview plant in Niles-IL,I was sure I needed to place something on my work vehicle to remind me of that victory as a being, so I taped the, Green, Yellow, White and Blue Flag on my Sixbay with a fraze to thank Ronaldo(9) on my own. Latino coworkers stared, boss of the boss did not like... saying -- Brazil is Brazil America is America.I knew he was not right, but respected his position. I had really become a “penta campeão”, the thing is,... even with only part of the world recognizing its importance it has still been very nice.
What I see, being in Brazil today, goes beyond Soccer National Team achievements and good moment, it comes from people, from the way the whole country has followed a wide path of discoveries and modernization. We have been prepared to explore “Pre Sal” If we lay on it we deserve it up and running. Besides that , we are proud of “Flex Tech”, water and wind energy concepts and structures. If we can do to our roads, train, education and health system what we have done to our banks and shopping malls we will not have packed, unfair and dirty prisons(schools of crime) like the ones we do today anymore.
Our lifestyle fed by many different rhythms including, Samba,Rock and popular music, may have been seen as too risky by the International Monetary Fund and capitalists all over, still it is more like a show where the audience hand clap the artist in the end than a individual rollercoaster ride with a predictable end, and more; nature is in our favor, weather help us to save our precious time.
This “water divisor year of 2009” started with over two billion of people’s victory as Mr. Barack, Mrs Michelle and their family moved to the white house. At least 6% of that amount of people had already felt some similar change feelling few years ago when “da Silva” family left Garanhuns-PE to Brasília-DF. In Alvorada Palace Mr. Luís Inácio and Mrs. Marisa Letícia have made an admirable history by placing faith ,hope ,progress and thinking of order like no one had before in “ Cabrália”. I am sure that the “Mauriceia” leadership teachings have played important role in this Presidency’s success, with full and almost completed agenda. By September 7th, this year “Parque Dona Lindú" in Recife looked like it will be ready soon, once again, Petrobras has reasons to be proud of its people and the people have many to be proud of our company.
By now ,globe wise, American People and the International Community have built an eclectic concept inspired in global connectivity , the general religious and social family. Africa has been focused ,to help someone is better than to be looking for blame.New season is rising on the horizon, tourism depends on people, would you like some “Caipirinha”?
New methods of engineering could have been used long time in NE Brazil cities. I can tell, NEXTEL ,will keep playing its role as with new installations near by in Boa Viagem.
Luiz.

Tuesday, 15 September 2009
Dear Friends, It is said one should not ask how sausage or laws are made. Are you concerned about a public option? Let me share with you some insight about health care legislation which may not be good for your health.A lesson in politics. The Kucinich Prediction: Here's what's going to happen ...
House will make a big deal about keeping/putting a public option in HR3200 because it competes with insurance companies and will keep insurance rates low.
The White House will refer to the President's speech last week where he spoke favorably of the public option.
The Senate will kill the competitive public option in favor of non-competitive "co-ops". Senate leaders like Kent Conrad have said the votes to pass a public option were never there in the Senate.
The bill will come to a House-Senate Conference Committee without the public option.
House Democrats will be told to support the conference report on the legislation to support the President.
The bill will pass, not with a "public option" but with a private mandate requiring 30 million uninsured to buy private health insurance (if one doesn't already have it). If you are broke, you may get a subsidy. If you are not broke, you will get a fine if you do not purchase insurance.
This legislative sausage will be celebrated as a new breakthrough and will be packaged as health insurance reform. However, the bill may require a Surgeon General's warning label: Your Money or Your Life! The bill that Congress passes may pale in comparison to the bill that millions of Americans get every month for having or not having private health insurance. It will take four years for the new legislation to go into effect. During that time we are going to build a constituency of millions in support of real health care, a constituency which will be recognized and a cause which is right and just: Health Care as a Civil Right.
Today is a sad day for many of us, but as a very good friend told me, we must go on. For them, for us and we have. But we still remember, so what do we do? The answer is to make the United States a better place to raise our children, to show them the gift of giving. President Obama has made this day a National Day of Service and we citizens should answer that call. How should it be answered? You help a disabled veteran or make a call to a friend personally affected by 9/11 or the war in Iraq or Afghanistan. Give blood or give a homeless person a meal. You help your neighbors who have lost their jobs and ask "How can I help you?". You pay it forward and the best part is how you can answer that call is up to you. The only requirement is you don't expect anything from it or even a thank you (you'll probably get it, but that's not the point) You do it from your heart and it will feed the spirit of the country. Ok, we all have something to do for someone else today. Let's get to it.
And one more thing, I have a gift who was born this day in 2006. Happy Birthday Tinkerbell Diva, my baby girl is three! I'm quite proud of her, she has a lot of spirit and that's a great thing.
I voted and supported President Obama. I wanted change, however, not this change!
MANDATORY FLU INJECTIONS TO ALL NEW YORK STATE HEALTH CARE WORKERS! WHERE IS MY INHERENT RIGHT OF CHOICE? PRESIDENT OBAMA, PLEASE REVERSE THIS BLANTANT VIOLATIONOF OUR CIVIL AND INHERENT RIGHT OF CHOICE.
Where in the 10th Amendment to the Constitution are you given the right to try to pull a stunt like this? No government has the right to require vaccination of any kind for anyone UNLESS it has been PROVEN WITHOUT A DOUBT that a NATIONAL EMERGENCY exists and then the requirement is questionable and only to be used under the strictist guidelines. Would you even stop to find out if someone is allergic to such ??? medications ??? As far as I'm concerned this is just one more attempt to negate State's Rights laws and the rights of the citizens of this country. The 10th Amendment to the Constitution does NOT give you the power to make this requirement of the citizens of this country, nor to impose punishment should a person refuse to cooperate.
Mitch Stewart, Director of Organizing for America, just sent out this e-mail:
At the beginning of August, President Obama wrote to the OFA community to challenge us to work hard, break through the noise and give the American people a voice in the fight for health insurance reform. It wasn't easy: With Congress back home, special interests and partisan attack groups went into overdrive spreading lies, and the media seemed to broadcast any story of conflict or division they could find. But you accepted the President's challenge -- and delivered.See it for yourself: Check out the latest photos and stories from around the country. Our strategy for the month was simple: engage the millions of individuals who know we need change to fight the lies and tell the truth, build support for reform, and ensure that support is highly visible while members of Congress are home gauging public opinion. We continued our methodical, battle-tested approach of volunteers reaching out online and offline in every part of the country. We offered the facts, answered questions and engaged those who were ready to get involved. And the results were extraordinary. OFA supporters like you came together in an unprecedented way over the past four weeks -- and it couldn't have happened without the individual volunteers who make it all possible: Folks like Rebecca E. in Santa Fe, New Mexico, who voted for the first time last year -- and collected more than 1,800 health care declarations this summer. Across the country, we've collected more than 1 million signatures in support of the President's core principles for health insurance reform. Supporters like Nita L. in Longmont, Colorado, who organized hundreds of supporters in her town to come with her to talk with their member of Congress about how much this fight means to them. They were among the more than 70,000 folks who showed up at 350 town halls -- where supporters of reform at times outnumbered opponents by 10-1 -- and volunteers who made 5,000 trips to local congressional offices. It's the people who made more than 100,000 calls to Congress to thank representatives fighting for change -- like Nancy T. in Hendersonville, North Carolina, who hosted a health care phone booth because, after her heart transplant, she knows that no American should have to choose between financial ruin and getting the care they need. It's the 1,500 supporters who filled a local recreation center in Kansas City, Missouri, at a town hall meeting with Senator Claire McCaskill, and the 2,500 people who jammed the streets to hear from Senator Sherrod Brown in Ohio -- just two of the more than 4,000 events where folks gathered to show their support across all 50 states in August. All of these signatures, calls, office drop-bys, conversations, gatherings, and town hall meetings, all of the late nights, homemade signs, long hours in the sun, and tireless volunteers who make it happen -- totaling more than 1.5 million people who've taken part in this campaign for real reform -- it all adds up to one incredible movement for change.Check out the latest photos and stories from the field to see this movement in action:http://my.barackobama.com/onthegroundAs Congress returns to D.C. and we roll up our sleeves for the final push toward reform, we know the hardest work may yet lie ahead. The special interests and those in Congress who have pledged to oppose the President no matter what will stoop even lower in the weeks ahead. But you should never doubt that we face the coming challenges together, as part of something far larger than any of us alone -- and far stronger than the old broken politics that have preserved the status quo for long enough. Our strategy is working. We are going to win this thing. Americans will finally get the health insurance reform we all need.Thank you for making it possible,MitchMitch StewartDirectorOrganizing for America
Pakistan is strife with rumors of US building a fortress of an embassy to camouflage a military base in the heart of Islamabad and Karachi. Many Pakistanis believe that US wants to destabilize Pakistan and that it’s in the interest of the US to Balkanize Pakistan so that it can secure Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. Many are protesting the 12 embassies that India has set up in Kabul and Pakistani officials have protested that openly claiming that RAW (Indian Intelligence ) is training Afghans to fight Pakistan Talibans. Whatever the truth what can’t be denied is that, Pakistan is sitting in a very precarious position today.
When pressured to root our terrorism from its North, Pakistan had no choice but to send its army to root out Taliban. Pakistan army is fighting its own people to eradicate terrorists from within. That is not an easy task. This not only caused a strain on its meager resources, but also displaced about two million of the poorest people from their homes in the North causing an immense burden on the already weak economy of Pakistan. Thus Pakistan and its people are making huge sacrifices to help the US fight the extremists. What is our government getting in return? The 1.5 billion dollars will trickle into Pakistan through developmental projects, which we’ve all heard about before and which never really have reached the hands of the poor. It could be different this time since there seems to be more oversight of the monies going to Pakistan.
We know that our US government and State department is aware of the corruption that Zardari is tainted with and how his government has done nothing to give “roti, kapra, aur makan” (food, clothing, and shelter) to the common people who stood behind its slogan. In fact, Zardari has made the poor even poorer and the treasury deplete. However, the number of advisors to Zardari keeps increasing, the VIP culture is back as a nuisance and
Basic necessities like electricity and clean water are still non-existent. Despite the lack of progress and abject poverty in Pakistan, the only reason, I remain, hopeful, is that the people elected Zardari and through this extreme suffering during his tenure; they will learn to vote better in the next elections. After all, Americans waited patiently for years to choose a better leader after Bush’s policies alienated Americans from the rest of the world and caused the complete destruction of two countries in the name of bringing democracy, so can Pakistanis.
Then we come to the very important issue of where the money from the Kerry-Lugar Bill will really go and what is Obama’s policy toward Pakistan. . Center for American Progress recently held a meeting of the all the agencies working on AfPak. What was most surprising was that not a single Pakistani was on Holbrooke’s Interagency Team on AfPak. What is even more surprising is that the Senior Defense Advisor to President Obama on Pakistan and Afghanistan is Mr.Vikram Singh. The Senior Advisor on AfPak is Vali Nasr, an Iranian expert on “shiaism”.
Pakistani Americans are considering this as an attempt to exclude them from any policy making for their native country. This is contrary to what the President was saying to the Pakistani community. Candidate Obama told us that he would engage us in policy making that directly affects Pakistan. Who would know Pakistan better than us?
But then why are we excluded from advisory positions? It’s a failure on the part of Pakistan Embassy Washington, and the government of Pakistan, who should have the vision to look out for Pakistani Americans, like the Indians do. Instead, being the strongest bargaining position, Pakistanis are in the weakest position.
We protest this exclusion.

Today I had the privilege to interpret for Maxine Waters at the town hall meeting on healthcare.
The good news, the insurance mignons that have been disrupting so many of these meetings with all of their racist and anti-Semitic poison do not have enough cojones to show up in Compton.
The bad news, even in the most liberal of the bills, the public option is no more than a token, it will not cover more than 10 million people and it is not a choice, most people will NOT have an option, much like today, worse yet, by making insurance mandatory, the rest of us will be left even more at the mercy of the insurance companies than we are today.
So even as a matter of strategy this lukewarm reform is no reform. As someone pointed out today, we elected Barack Obama, not Mitt Romney, even under the best light as presented by congresswoman Waters, this is the Romney plan implemented in Massachusetts, it is not working there and it will not work nationally.
The public option is just a misnomer to appease the left, not an option at all, puzzling since last time I check the majority in congress IS THE LEFT, so who are they appeasing?
Healthcare is a right protected and provided by the government to senior citizens, children, veterans and their own employees, as such, equal protection under the law demands that it be provided to all.
Medicare for everyone today, it is a constitutional issue, not a matter of congressional negotiations subject to debate.
