Ya know...
we gotta make it clear with a flow chart how all the stuff that we have planned for action over the next presidency can and will be accomplished. Must show how the different stuff is interconnected... that insuring that children [and everyone] have access to the best healthcare system in the world, everyone would be healthier, better able to learn, be more productive, be better citizens...
If we had a single payer healthcare system - same doctors and hospitals, just send the bill to the government, no government review, no insurance review, no billing department, no deductable, NO FOR PROFIT INSURANCE COMPANY; just the doc and a second opinion about what will make me healthy enough to live free pursuing happiness...
If we had a single payer healthcare system, there would be no need for worker's compensation insurance; how much would that save business? We would need no extra healthcare coverage with our auto insurance; How much would that save me? There would not be a need for law suits figuring who is liable for medical expenses from an accident at work or involving a car; What would that save, don't forget the savings in court costs or that the civil dockets would free up a lot.
Get Al Gore & Mike Moore to make another movie showing the interrelationship of the social issues and our security; how good teeth and glasses that aren't scratched up can make us a better happier country... the constitution does call out happiness...
Best of all - show in a clear way how the country's revenues will afford [or cannot afford not to do these things!] the cost of every effort.
The government is not here to provide everything for each of us, but it sure as hell must provide safe, well designed roads and bridges so that we have the best chance of pursuing what we choose!
Let Gore & Moore show everyone in living color, in pictures how each of our ambition & innovation and ultimately puts everyone in our country first...
Get Oliver Stone too! Stone Moore Gore...
The Anti-Lobbyist, Advised by LobbyistsBy Michael D. Shear and Jeffrey H. BirnbaumWashington Post Staff WritersFriday, February 22, 2008; A01
'McCain has long sought to defend his associations with lobbyists, stressing that friendships with them do not influence his independent judgment when it comes to legislative action. In comments to reporters yesterday, he acknowledged those friendships.
"I have many friends who represent various interests, ranging from the firemen to the police to senior citizens to various interests, particularly before my committee," McCain said. "The question is . . . do they have excess or unwarranted influence? And certainly no one ever has in my conduct of my public life and conduct of my legislative agenda."'

Statement: To suggest that the expression of anyone's faith is a distortion of the Bible is troubling... disagreement certainly may arise, but to imply fraudulence and manipulation is appalling to me. A professed man of God is seeking constant conversion, not condemnation. I believe Obama, though a politician, is a man of faith and is appealing to a universe of the faithful.
Re: Barack Obama Is Not a Christian by Cal Thomas
THIS IS MY TAKE...
Whether you follow a political philosophy derived from Aristotle, Plato or Steven Colbert, our public policy is affected by the many public ideas and ideals. Our public discourse includes Jewish traditions by extension and by "revelation" the Christian faith; whether Catholic [Universal] or protestant [organized or not]; Mormon and Islam too. Heck, even Hare Chrisna... The expression of faith is important to Barack Obama. Evident because he says that this is so. To have public expression and logical discussion of faith and the meaning that many derive from the faith experience is good. Ultimately I believe that philosophy and religion help in seeking truth and justice; whether social or political truths. I think public expression and education about philosophy and religion is important. I have read Cal Thomas's stuff and I agree that he writes in a way that is haughty and in judgment. I find his assessment incorrect of what makes a Christian. What matters is the candidates expression of their own values. Obama expresses, to me, that he has constant, bottom-up values. Kinda reflects the "do to the least of theses..." thing. If we don't create an environment that lifts up those at the bottom rungs of society, offering real opportunity, the whole country declines and we all suffer.

The policy to encourage multitudes of individual donation to the campaign, I think is the best exercise of democratic action. This idea is what a public system of funding is about. The idea of equally funding candidates is the most fair way of providing information about all candidates and assures the Citizen that they are not "buying" public office simply by spending more. Equal the playing field and let the candidates message ring, not because of saturation or style... In a perfect world, Lincoln and Douglas would stand apart from each other, expressing ideas and opinion, response and rhetoric, position and proposition... and the citizen decides solely on the issues... but Lincoln[Kennedy] had more charm? Style and presence is important though, isn't it? The question out there right now, is whether Obama is acting as a "flip-flopper" - or - is he using his good judgment, given the current conditions, and thus making a good management decision that just makes good sense, and provides the campaign fair advantage... It can be said that we know that greater amounts of money [and where that money comes from too!] will affect impression and outcome. The thing a like best about Obama; he has been consistant on message. I feel that he is expressing attitude and values that has built a level of trust for me, that any decision he makes I believe is based on the best information and strategy at the moment of his decision. He has not pandered, but has spoken about a core of ideals that he uses as he acts. So, is Obama exercising "good judgment" and acting in a way that upholds the values and principles that define and promote the change we are voting for? This is the debate, and we must always watch and think for our selves!
Bobby Kennedy gave a remarkable prediction back in 1968· Tim Russert used this is this week's "Meet The Press"· Pretty interesting huh???
Ted-------------------------------------------------------------------------------Attorney General Robert F· Kennedy told the world that the United States - despite Alabama violence - is moving so fast in race relations a Negro could be President in 40 years·"There's no question about it," the Attorney General said· "In the next 40 years a Negro can achieve the same position that my brother has·" Kennedy said that prejudice exists and probably will continue to exist ··· "But we have tried to make progress and we are making progress· ··· We are not going to accept the status quo·"
"As I see it our choice is between a heroic old man whose time has long past and who will perpetuate failed policy, and a brilliant, openhearted new founding father of the new post-racial, post-divided America the likes of which we have not seen."
Blogging here has provide access to so many other opinions... how marvelous. I have consistantly been moved emotionally...
Are the guys and gals up there able to digest it all? What is the impact of the expression of everybodies ideas? How does this real version of democracy acheive sucess? Let us not be equated with mob mentality- like HRC camp?
God bless us everyone!
Interesting how intelligent this guy seems... but isn't this an indication that Bush intended, clearly to invade Iraq, even when he was the Governor of Texas?
I have a cousin who had been seriously injured over there. He is a patriot, bravely volunteering to serve the cause as put forth. He has trusted our Commander-in-Chief and nearly gave his life...
Put this together with Clarke and McClellan's books... shit.
The end of this interview discusses WMD in Jan 2000...
Despite megalomania, she is a Genuine American... This is the first speech that I had heard where she sounded like a feminist, not that there's anything wrong with that! I hope that she can reach those that have mistakenly professed support for McCane. I know I felt similarly if Hillary were named the presumptive candidate: but my fear was not that Obama would lose or be beaten by her within the rules, but by her changing the rules as she tried to do. If it had been reversed and the numbers of delegates had been against him back in March... I bet he would have conceded and for the good of the party, supported the candidate with the math that worked within the rules. I thought the speech really expressed [I believed her] that she was going to fight for the Democratic Party in order to achieve a Democratic Presidency. This is what Obama [We] will need in order to have the opportunity to accomplish the change proposed. I know she is not an Obamaniac, her own ego has to have been so strong in order for her to achieve what she has; even despite her husband... I am consistently impressed with the constancy of Senator Obama; How at each step, his message has been the same. At each step he has elevated the ideas, of individual opportunity that can be afforded because of selfless action and representation for the whole, the many... It is not about Obama [and especially not about Hillary]but about the each of us.It is the ultimate irony that we must each selflessly give of ourselves to others...that our own benefit be had... Already, Barack Obama has proven democracy saving change: that no lobby or PAC shall fund our party... Our government shows the promise of transparent action, accountable to the citizens... a government of the new century, with control and liberty in the hands of the people. This change is astounding. It seems that Obama has acheived this in a word. How presidential is that!
Just for a moment I hope you will take in the historic importance of last night's primaries. It has been over 200 years in the making. We shown ourselves, our country and indeed the the entire world that race does not matter anymore. We have finally joined the 21st century and I am proud to be an American. Yes, I'll say it, for the first time in my life I'm proud to be an American.
Seventeen months ago people were laughing at us. "Never" they thought. This country is hungry for change, we deserve it and Barack Obama has delivered us to a great place. I have to be honest, last night I cried. This is and again I stress the point, a huge ground-breaking historic event. The world was stunned, they never thought that we would let an African-American in this country become the Democratic nominee for the Presidency of the United States of America.
To each of you I say thank you, thank you, thank you; we did it. This was the first election in history where we actually changed and shaped it's outcome. Social networking pages such as Myspace, facebook and websites and blogs such as these have enabled us to take this all the way to November. We are in a great place, a quantam leap forward from where we were even yesterday. Spread the word, spread the joy and share the hope.
Yes We Can... Yes We Did... Yes We Will!!

I worked for a start-up construction company and we were negotiating the biggest contract we had ever had. It was nearly a $2million bid that we had really sharpened our pencils on and maybe undercut in order to win.
When we won, my compatriots wahooed and jumped for joy- I took a deep breath and with positive determination and seriousness, deference and a kind of reverance for the bidders we beat, said that the hard work now begins, to meet expectations, exceed our prior performance and to accomplish an appropriate profit...
Well, we may be winning the bid... but it is really close, and we must now really prove that the Change we propose is doable... "wish in one hand and poop in the other... which one fills up first?"
The hard fought, narrow victory, I feel, must be turned into a guaranteed landslide mandate and then we must all prove Obama for real. He has called all of us to be the makers of change, not just the followers of a leader...
We must win the favor of PEACE in Iraq; return our troops home and honor the wounded, the dead, the lost...
We must be the purvayors of PEACE
We should not be the only country that can't call Cuba on a telephone. We sell Chevys to Viet Nam! The best way to beat Iran is to sell them Fruit Loops and I-Phones...
We must secure a ground up economy that insures that every person has the opportiunity of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness... [the cost of gasoline is a result of the topside down affect of commodity brokers gambling on futures that immediately make us pay more at the pump... and as Ida Fast Wolfe says in SD... she couldn't afford to teach any more cause it cost so much to drive to work- and I bet she had to drive to the job cause there was no one there to teach otherwise... What? you have to be rich in order to afford to help those that can't afford... etc?!]...
We must balance the budget, again... understanding that a deficit is not bad unto itself but should be managed for goodness sake!
We must provide the opportunity for health care for all: healthcare services must be provided, based on the health of the patient... Cost must be mediated... no one should be refused health care, based on a dollar... Doctors, nurses and tecnicians, et. al., must be rewarded, always...
Many of the answers are already out there... check out the publications on Competition [including Healthcare] written by Michael porter at Harvard http://www.isc.hbs.edu/. 80% of business is small... this has to be a coalition of solution... we must demand to be heard in the debate... lead by Obama...
The hard work is here...
By the way; the contract my company won was completed successfully...
