Societies Failure to provide adequate treatment programs for mentally disturbed inmates.
"Do you know that - mental disorders are found in a fairly large number of the inmates in correctional institutions. There are no exact figures as to the inmates who are mentally disturbed and this is partly because it is hard to draw a precise line between "mental disturbance" and "normality"
Do you know that expers find that somewhere between 15% and 25% of inmates are suffering from disorders that are obvious enough to show up in routine psychiatric and sociological examinations.
Society has not yet really come to grips with the problem of what to do with mentally disturbed offenders because there is not enough money available to set up treatment programs for all the people indentify as mentally disturbed. Moreover, there would probably qualify psychiatric personnel available to run such programs even if they could be set up.
Moreover, most mentally disturbed offenders are therefore left to serve out there time in correctional institutions."
Well, is like this, in order to be able to work and have some money first you have to be strong and healthy. You see if your health is not well and you can not afford your medicines or to see the doctor you will not be strong and healthy to work hard and earned a living. It just like this.
Health Care is most important for a good economy and success of our America.
What a noble Sacrifice of a Noble Son/daughter?
Why should I not be proud that I am lifting up my parents in front of God and everyone.
In one Palraa (basket) is Latchmi incarnate my Mother and the other my Father, Vishnu incarnate.
There is a great fortune hanging on my shoulders.
Serving parents is the path of truth and my own pilgrimage.
The weight of my parents is lighter than roses,
And with my head held up high,
I shall keep going forward
despite the sorrows that might come.
In my childhood I sat on my parents shoulders and I rocked with joy.
Today they are rocking with joy on my shoulders, and I am pleased in my heart,
that I have endeavor to fulfill their whishes
as long as life is there in their bodies.

"A tent with rustling breezes cool delights me more than palaces high, and more the cloak of simple wool than robes in which I learned to sigh. The crust I ate beside my tent was more than fine bread to me; the wind's voice where the hill path went was more than tambourine can be."

1%, or 1 vote out of 100There have been 12 Presidential elections that were decided by less than a 1% margin; meaning if less than 1% of the voters in certain states had changed their mind to the other candidate the outcome of the entire election would have been different. More than half were decided by less than a 2% margin.
In 2004, 57,787 votes would have given us President Kerry. In 2000, 269 votes would have given us President GoreIn 1996, 575,515 votes would have given us President Dole.

=========="Squeakers"Ned PotterABC NewsSeptember 29, 2008How close have Presidential elections been? Closer, perhaps, than we ever guessed. Mike Sheppard, a grad student in statistics at Michigan State, has done a mathematical exercise that shows it.He ran a computer program to answer this question: "What is the smallest number of total votes that need to be switched from one candidate to another, and from which states, to affect the outcome of the election?"The answer: in some years, very, very few. Take a look at his analysis HERE. It shows the powerful interaction between the popular vote and the electoral college.[...]==========

This email by Alan Konell was forwarded to me tonightI am reproducing it here to help worried Obamasupporters... Try this Obama Mantra....
=======
Here's a good approach.. This is such an obviousanswer ... Remember how powerful our thoughtsare!=======To all my friends who have had enough --I want to make two specific requests (discussionfollows):1) 3 times a day (more is better) I suggest yousay or just think to yourself "President Obama"and when you do to imagine it being true rightnow and feeling all the great feelings that gowith this thought.2) Please forward this email to all your friendswho you know for a fact are voting for Obama andwill be thrilled when he wins, encouraging themto send it on to their friends.Discussion:It dawned on me that many of us are getting caught in the fear orgy the Republicans love to createbecause most of their policies are based in fear. They even fail to recognize that the opposite offear is not hope but trust and expectation. Soeliminating fear requires practicing trust andexpectation.Fearing the Republicans is just more fear andfeeds their cause. They want us to be afraid, even if all we're afraid of is them. I don'texpect us to never experience fearful thoughts, but when we notice that we are would be a goodtime to think "President Obama" and experiencethe pleasure that this reality brings. When I first thought of this I anticipated thatsome, me included, would react with, "well justthinking about it won't do it. Way too'airy-fairy' What we need is to be in action."Interesting thought, but aligning our thoughtswith what we want never hurts and imagining whatwe want never precludes getting into action. Infact, imagining "President Obama" is more likelyto inspire those actions that will create thiswonderful outcome. Not to mention, if a whole bunch of us arefeeling good, instead of afraid, resigned andhelpless, then we will probably get a whole lotmore done. Practice this thought and notice thatit makes you feel good and certainly moreresourceful. The decision to send this email cameto me last night after deciding to practice thisthought myself yesterday. "President Obama"Aaaaah. Happy and relieved. Like taking off ashoe that's too tight (or in this case, maybe anoose).I did the math and if each of sends this to tenothers and only five send it on then in 13 roundsthis email will reach over 244 Million people.Probably less because of repeats. If we send itto more and let's say 10 send it on then in 9rounds 1 Billion emails will be sent. Staggeringand no-one is asking you to send any moneyanywhere or informing you that you have inheritedmoney from a long lost relative. When I first heard Barak Obama speak in 2004 atthe convention, I thought 'This man could bePresident someday." I like many others areinspired by him and know that behind his inspiring words is a strong, thoughtful and courageousintelligence. Let's join together to make"President Obama" (Aaaaaah) a reality by imagining together that it already is. Thanks for yourhelp.Alan Konell, M.S.W.
Maine for Obama,
I worked on the campaign in the primaries and I know there are hundreds of volunteers who want to work for Barack Obama this fall in the swing states, but a lot of these volunteers, students and recent college graduates like myself (Stanford 2008), don't have the resources to get where they are needed.
If you have 25,000 miles on any airline, you likely have enough miles to sponsor a verified volunteer's trip to work in a swing state! Registering new voters and talking to undecided voters face to face is the best way to fight all the smear campaigns and attack ads we are facing.
In the primaries one woman with a phone line raised two million miles for Obama! For the general election we can raise even more!
To get involved as a sponsor or volunteer please email alisa@travelforchange.org or just visit TravelforChange.org and please pass this on!
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we". George Bush - Washington, DC; August 5, 2004.
How true, George! You and your party have been very resourceful and successful in harming our country. I don't think we can afford to follow up with 4-8 years of a McCain administration.
"They want the federal government controlling Social Security like it's some kind of federal program."
Yup, you guessed it....G.W. in St. Charles, MO; November 2, 2000
We elected America's brightest and best, I guess. :-)
Let's get out and change the embarassment to pride again!
Shucks!! This'll probably get me put on the 'no fly' list next to Cat Stevens. Oh well, can't afford a ticket these days anyway. Anyway, 'hi', y'all. Hope to meet you somewhere along the way.
I want to live in webkinz world. This is a virtual world where my children "play" with their virtual pets.
My children just told me that in webkinz world: you don't need gas for your car, the price of food never goes up, it doesn't cost anything to go the doctor (unless you need medicine), you can buy a piece of property for less than $1000, and your first home is free. This is an unsophisticated land free of war and strife.
HRC had everything going for her in Pennsylvania, a state she has strong ties to, and she still only came out LESS than 10 points ahead of Barack. HRC garnered 1,260,444 votes to Barack's 1,046,220 for a difference of 214,224 votes. This is a lead of 9.2871% NOT 10%. Any other calculation is just "fuzzy math"
Thank you to all of the volunteers and supporters and the people of Pennsylvania who realize that Barack is the best choice!
To be reminded of how important it is that Barack Obama is chosen as our next President, all I need to do is: go to the grocery store, or pay my bills, or take my children to the doctor, or hear news about the war, or go to gas pump, or...... all I need to do is live my life.
Apathy, cynicism, and a not speaking up for what is right are what got us where we are today.
Barack Obama's message of hope and his ability to remind us that we can effect change are the tools to help solve the problems we face.
Apathy is not an option!
