Well, it seems that Pres. Obama is right again. Washington won't change overnight. It seems that many have forgotten the months of work we did to send a message to Washington that we were ready for change. What I think is more important is that WE don't forget and get lazy, expecting them to just give it to us.
Republicans in the House and Senate are leaning toward thier tendancy not to listen and to go back to what we had for the past 8 years. We need to let them know that change has come. There were almost 2 million people in the Mall a few weeks ago. We cannot let them forget that!!!
We have to do what we did during the campaign, email and call each and every representative and let them know that we are still paying attention and we are still engaged and WILL BE ENGAGED from now on!!!
I live in Michigan and have contacted Gov. Granholm's office (D), Carl Levin (D), Debbie Stabenow(D) and Mike Rogers(R) and let them know that I want them to support the Stimulus Package. I personally feel like they need alot more Infrastructure money (we have potholes that cars get lost in and no money to repair them) But ALL Obama supporters need to contact their Govenor, and Congressional Representatives and put the pressure to work to pass this bill quickly.
I will personally be watching to see who votes for it and who votes against it. Their votes will be considered when mid term elections come around.
Go to www.congress.org if you are not sure of who you should contact. Your state website should have a contact button for your Govenor. WE HAVE GOT TO GET BACK TO WORK!!!
I wept salty tears as I thought back over the years to the many sacrifices made by so many to bring this to fruition, to the work done by both blacks and whites to help eliminate our nation's ignorance. I thought of my own marches during the Civil Rights Era in Washington and in Chicago, even when to march risked terrible consequences. I thought back to Dr. King and his eloquence and the agony of hearing the words, "They shot Dr. King." Tonight I saw Jesse Jackson biting his lip with tears streaming down his face, and I saw the light in the young people's eyes as they realized it was a new day. I pictured Michelle and the kids living in the White House, the promised puppy scampering from room to room. Then I thought how never again can anything any ignorant racist says have the same impact because today my county, my beautiful America chose to elect a president based on his beliefs rather than the color of his skin. This was an amazing act of trust and an act accompanied by great joy. It will take a while to sink in. Over the last few weeks a black Republican friend of mine kept saying cynically," Do you really think this country is ready to elect a black man?" Well today I can tell him. Today I can affirm what he was afraid to dream. Yes, we can. Yes, we can. Yes, we did.

Sign up to help out today at a Campaign for Change Get out the vote location near you, the most important day of the election here.
Michigan! This is our moment; this is our time! Get out and vote - and then volunteer - and tonight, we’ll celebrate victory. Don’t delay, volunteer today!
John McCain's campaign has as recently as yesterday said that they believe that students won't turn out to vote. Today is our day to prove them wrong and show America that young voters do matter. Our opponent and the media believe that young voters won’t show up - that we don’t care about the election, and are too lazy, too unwilling, or too unmotivated to actually get out and vote. But today, we’ll prove them wrong.
Today is the day to turn the page on eight years of failed Bush policies that have seen our middle class shrink, economy worsen, and college move out of reach for more and more people. Today is the day to make your voice heard! What happens today will determine the direction we want our country to move in. Decades from now, your children will ask you what you did today. Do you want to be part of the moment that changed America - or do you want to stay home, and just hope for the best?
Our moment is now. Get out and vote - bring your roommate, your friends, anyone you can think of. After you vote, help us get out the vote on this critical day - sign up to help get out the vote on your campus today!

I know everyone is busy, has other things to do, has work, and is tired. But - there will be thousands of other days to work, thousands of other days to sleep, thousands of other days to run errands. This is our only day to make sure Barack Obama becomes president and if we win this election I truly believe each of those thousands of other days will be better. That is why I am asking you to take off Election Day and help ensure that we elect Barack Obama our next president. But I guarantee you that you will be proud for the rest of your life to have been part of the Obama Campaign on Election Day 2008. Let's win this thing.Josh

My name is Robin the Nurse. Unlike Joe the Plumber, I want Barack Obama to be President of the United States. Joe the Plumber and I have something in common besides both being Americans. We have a fan by the name of Rhonda from Fresno.
Rhonda from Fresno has become my biggest fan/stalker as she has commented on several of my blogs. She talks about Joe the Plumber on one of them. She tells me I am ignorant and in the dark because I support Obama/Biden.
How did I get so lucky to get such a fan? How many profiles are there on MyBo? After reading several of her rants about how great Palin is, I maintained my cool and didn't tell her what an ignorant **** I thought she was ala Dan Akroyd's-"Jane, you ignorant ****!" Oh, but I wanted to. I thought-"wwod, since he is my Messiah",( according to Ms. Fresno).
She even inspired me to write a little prayer which I posted in a reply to one of her rants. What is it about some Christians where they feel they can judge who a real Christian is? I have been told many times what I am because I support Barack Obama. Good Christian isn't usually what comes out of thier mouth's.
Another thing, I love about the Rhonda from Fresno types are when they ask me, "How would you like it if your mother got an abortion and you couldn't be born?" I guess I wouldn't care much, since I wouldn't know that she had one, since I wasn't born." But, if I did know it out of mental telepathy or osmosis or something, this is what I would think: "Wow, my mommy feels so trapped that she wants to abort me. Where is her support system? Didn't they teach her sex education ?Why does she feel she is so alone? Where are all the Christians to help her through this? I feel great comapssion for my Mommy. I wish there was someone to help her." That, Rhonda from Fresno, is how I would feel.
Also, before you start judging who a good Christian is, I want to see your credentials. Did God deputize you to go forth and identify the good Christians? What's that? No, you answered. Oh, I didn't think so. You just took upon your self to cast stones at my morals and that of Barack Obama. Those who live in glass trailors shouldn't throw stones.
I personally abhor abortion. I worked in a clinic that performed them as a counselor. When the clinic realized I was also a nurse, they put me in the room where they performed the abortions. I found myself praying for the soul of the aborted fetus. Never did I feel anything but compassion towards the mother. I realized that I could not do that kind of nursing and left.
I still am pro-choice and I never would vote for a candidate because of one issue. Abortion is a serious decision that a woman needs to make for herself. It should not be made by the Goverment, Rhonda from Fresno, or the good Christians.
So in closing, Rhonda and your followers, keep reading my blogs. Visit my site http:/r.yuwie.com/robin1. Visit Michigan Nurses and Advocates for Obama.
Who knows? You may actually learn something about tolerance, compassion, and love instead of spewing your hate-mongering, bigoted view points. Feel free to bring your good friend, Joe the Plumber with you!

With three days until Election Day, we need your help! Just today, the Huron Tribune, a newspaper in one of the "reddest" areas of Michigan endorsed Barack, showing that our message is carrying through every corner of Michigan. While momentum continues to build here in Michigan and around the country behind Barack's message of change, it's no time to let up. This race is not over, and it's no time for complacency. We have over sixty offices open across Michigan - why not stop in today?
Obama, on the other hand, chose a running mate who complements him. Obama recognizes his lack of experience in foreign policy, and thoughtfully chose Joe Biden, who is a subject expert. Also, Obama has made a commitment to end the U.S. occupation in Iraq, a position that is clearly favored by the American people. With McCain, there seems to be no end in sight. While Obama has not been in Washington long and his inexperience is a weakness, he has shown the wisdom to seek advice from people who have knowledge and experience he can tap into. More than anything else, this country needs change — a change in politics and a change in the economy. We fear a McCain presidency would be too similar to the last eight years. Barack Obama has the leadership abilities and the drive to make a difference, and hopefully, change this country’s momentum. We endorse Barack Obama for President of the United States.
