Rosa sat so Martin could walk.
Martin walked so Barack could run.
Barack is running so our children can fly.

On Friday, Sept. 26, we raised $63 with the Change 4 Obama fundraising event. Special thank you to Ms. Brandii Waiters (team 5) for supporting the event. We need more people to volunteer. We have people who want to donate, but, we do not have enough people at the event.
The money raised will serve two purposes. It will help operate Florida for Obama in Richmond Heights, Fl. (team 5) It will also be sent to the main campaign headquarters for the Obama campaign.
Please sign up to attend the fourth and final event that will be posted soon.
Thank you!
Dee.
South Beach Debate Watch at Tap Tap Haitian Restaurant, 819 5th Street, Miami Beach on Friday, Sept. 26th, at 7:00 PM: Angry at John McCain and Sarah Palin? Frustrated with the media? Fed up with the absurd direction this campaign has taken? Don't sit and stew. Use that energy to put Obama over the top! On Friday, September 26th, we're organizing a Debate Watch and calling party. We'll reach out to every potential volunteer to help them sign up to volunteer for Obama. If we can mobilize tens of thousands of volunteers for Obama in our area, we'll help push Barack over the top in November. Plus, we'll watch the first Presidential debate after we're done calling! Hi Obamaians,
Friday, Obama Appreciation Day was a success. I'd like to thank everyone for their participation. I noticed T-shirts and buttons in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Keep up the good work. Let's make history together. We can't win if we can't pursuade.
Register and/or encourage people to vote in your neighborhood, on your job, at your church, at your local business, and anyplace else you can think of. If you have/or know high school seniors who will be 18 before October 3rd, help them register to vote.
We need this change because, "eight is enough"!
Love you all.
Hello Obama supporters,
I would like to thank everyone who donated and volunteered for this event. A special thank you goes out to Brandii Waiters of the Richmond Heights for Obama Team and Joan Kanet, a local volunteer. These ladies are two hardworking volunteers. I would also like to thank Janice Bashford for her help in getting the word out.
The event was scheduled for three hours. However, due to the weather we were only able to spend 1 1/2 hours at the fundraising event. We were able to collect $36.00 in that short period of time. The donations will be ongoing and donations will be made to the campaign after the fourth event. An announcement of what was donated after each fundraising event will be posted after each event.
A great way to help support Obama in critical upcoming states is to participate in the online phonebank operation. By visiting the "Action Center" under the "Action" tab on BarackObama.com you can easily volunteer.
Participation in the phonebank is easy. You simply select a state you want to impact and the Web site does the rest. They provide the phone numbers and phone scripts you can use when talking to voters. The Web site then asks you some questions such as did the voter say they were registered, or are they planning to vote for another candidate -- or perhaps they already voted early, etc.
Phonebanking is an easy, quick way to help -- you don't need to commit to making a large number of calls, simply make a few calls here or there when you have some free time. By signing up for a myBarackObama.com account you earn points for your participation and the whole Obama.com world can see the effort you have put in.
From NBC/NJ's Aswini AnburajanOn a conference call to respond to the "3 am" ad that the Clinton campaign went on air with today, former Secretary of the Navy Richard Danzig, an Obama supporter, gave a terse response when asked if Clinton should drop out after March 4th. "I would encourage you on March 5th to call Sen. Clinton at 3 a.m. and ask that question," Danzig said. A morning (and early afternoon) of dueling conference calls and spin started with Obama campaign manager David Plouffe dismissing the Clinton ad. Since that mid-morning call, both Obama and three of his national co-chairs have responded. Stressing that Clinton failed in her own "red-phone moment," Sen. Dick Durbin today referred to 12:50 a.m. on October 2002 when Congress voted to authorize President Bush to go to war. Durbin called that night a "red-phone moment" and said that 77 senators, including Clinton and McCain failed exercise the right judgment. Gen. Tony McPeak (Ret.), the former Air Force chief of staff, told reporters that if they want to see who can handle the phone call at 3 a.m., they should examine the leadership the candidates have exercised over the course of this campaign. "A campaign is a lot like a war in many respects," McPeak said. "If you want to know what kind of commander in chief Senator Obama would be why don't you look at the kind of campaigns that have been run?"
"Are you firing people? Are you loaning yourself money?" he continued.
He also argued that it wasn' t just judgment that was important at 3 a.m., but also temperment. Danzig also responded strongly, saying this type of ad feeds a wrong impression of what it takes to be president and argued that Obama had better judgment and leadership skills than the New York senator.
Why I Support Senator Obama For President - Reason 2 -
Senator Obama has consistently set forth his opposition to anti-Semitism and has spoken out against it in a wide range of settings. He recognizes the historical link between Jews and blacks in the struggle for civil rights.
My parents were survivors of Hitler's concentration camps, and raised me to recognize the evil of discrimination. I have been privileged to be a civil rights lawyer at the Justice Department, and appreciate the need to have a President who is so deeply committed to civil rights.
From 1992-2005, I had the honor and privilege of serving as a Senior Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, in the Disability Rights Section of the Civil Rights Division. In that capacity, I was responsible for nationwide enforcement of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the most comprehensive federal civil rights laws ever written concerning people with disabilities.
Barack Obama recognizes the value and importance of empowering people with disabilities, and of vigorous enforcement of the ADA.
Obama: “We must build a world free of unnecessary barriers, stereotypes, and discrimination .... policies must be developed, attitudes must be shaped, and buildings and organizations must be designed to ensure that everyone has a chance to get the education they need and live independently as full citizens in their communities.” (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/disabilities/).
Obama's comprehensive agenda to empower individuals with disabilities fits in with the campaign's overarching message of equalizing opportunities for all Americans. In addition to reclaiming America's global leadership on this issue by becoming a signatory to -- and having the Senate ratify -- the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the plan has four parts, designed to provide lifelong supports and resources to Americans with disabilities. They are as follows: First, provide Americans with disabilities with the educational opportunities they need to succeed. Second, end discrimination and promote equal opportunity. Third, increase the employment rate of workers with disabilities. And fourth, support independent, community-based living for Americans with disabilities.
