Matt spent his day canvassing in his hometown of East Providence and explained why he supports Senator Obama. "My big issue is always foreign policy. Obama is putting forth a foreign policy plan that strongly favors dialogue with other nations," said Matt. As a Rhode Island native, Matt trecked to New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut, but he's fired up that Rhode Island can make a huge difference on March 4th.
Massachusetts residents, (L-R) Jerry, Sheila, Caroline and Alyssa came down to Pawtucket today to help their neigbor to the south bring home a victory for Barack on March 4th. Tufts Students for Barack Obama opened up a satelitte office in the campus center where students are constantly stopping by to get involved. Over thirty students worked diligently to get out the vote over the weekend after a good firing up by actor Kal Penn who visited campus in an overlowing event on Thursday evening. During the first few days of GOTV, students did phone banking, held signs at local T stops and visited areas in South Boston whose residents claim to have never seen political campaigns ever before.
Continuing a long Tufts University tradition of 'painting the cannon', students spray painted the sacred cannon red, white and blue-full of 'hope, ''yes we can!' and Ba-Rock the Vote." Despite some early morning attempts by excited New York Giants fans to cover up the spirit of change, Tufts students repaired the tarnished cannon, and restored it to its original glory. (The Tufts' cannon is painted nightly by Tufts students and groups to announce things like marriage proposals, or upcoming events on campus.)

Theo Epstein, the Executive Vice President/General Manager of the Boston Red Sox knows what it takes to win. He knows what it takes to put together a terrific team and he knows that character and judgement are a major part of winning.
Theo stopped by our Cambridge staging location this weekend to meet with canvassers to get them fired up and ready to go and to spread some of that Red Sox winning mojo.
One of the perks of winning a World Series Champioinship is the opportunity to go to the White House for a ceremony with the President. He's made 2 of those trips so far and we know he'll be making many more of those trips in the near future. Wouldn't it be great if the next time he goes to the White House for a World Series Championship ceremony with the President of the Unitied States, the president he stands on stage with is Barack Obama?

Liz Walker and her friend Lynette stopped by the Massachusetts Headquarters in Somerville this morning to pick up some rally signs to stand out around Coolidge Corner in Brookline.
Ms. Walker's twenty-five years at the WBZ-TV anchor desk made her a familiar face to many around Massachusetts. She has spent years engaged in public service campaigns and many community projects. Her local community efforts include The Jane Doe Safety Fund, an organization that helps to support domestic abuse shelters and safe houses throughout Massachusetts. She was an intergral part of WBZ-TV's public service efforts for "Stop the Violence" campaign "to increase awareness of violence issues in the home, in shools and on the streets." Most recently she has co-founded an organization that supports micro-enterprise projects for women in Sudan called "My Sister's Keeper."
Liz Walkers connection to Sudan began in 2001 when she traveled with local ministers on a fact-finding mission. She has traveled back to the Sudan twice since her first trip and produced an independent documentary on sudan entitled "In the Lion's Mouth."
Liz has knocked doors in New Hampshire and spent time in South Carolina doing whatever it takes to help make Barack Obama president. She's standing out in Brookline, MA today and getting everyone Fired Up and Ready to Go!!

Massachusetts Women for Obama is organizing a grassroots outreach effort to discuss why Barack Obama is the only candidate that can unite the country and inspire a sweeping movement for change.
On Thursday, January 24th Massachusetts Women for Obama announced a series of statewide "Barack Brunches." Barack Brunches "are self organized meetngs that will range in size and vary in nature but all share the common goal of growing support for Barack Obama. Participants will discuss what's at stake in this election, recruit additional support from women friends and family members, and plug into a growing Massachusetts grassroots organization."
The hundreds of members of Massachusetts Women for Obama includes community leaders, activists, legislators, mayors, mothers, and professionals from a variety of fields. The announcement on Thursday coincided with a phone bank that evening made up of 90 percent women at the Massachusetts Headquarters. Clearly, many Massachusetts women are standing strong for Senator Obama.
"The son of a single mother, Senator Obama has won support from women across the country with proposals that would support women in balancing work and family at a time when more women have entered the workforce, working hours have grown longer, and many workers are struggling to care for aging parents. Among other measure, Obama has called for doubling our investment in after-school programs, expanding the Child and Dependent Tax Credit and the Family and Medical Leave Act, and expanding flexible work arrangements."
Barack Brunches will be held this weekend in Agawam, Boston, Lowell, Northbridge, Townsend, and Worcester.
