Here is a GREAT "Get Out The Vote" video. It isn't for either party just asking people to vote. Add it to your myspace, facebook, or blogs. It really is good!!
Obama Nation, I just walked out of my living room, literally disgusted beyond the ability to verbalize my thoughts after maybe two minutes of watching Fox News.
Barack Obama's tax plan cuts taxes for 95% of people making under $250,000 per year. I'd say that coveres most of us; I know it covers me. Here is the quote I just finished hearing that just left me speechless:
"Those people that Obama plans to give tax breaks to; they don't pay taxes. He's giving them a welfare check."
So, I feel compelled to ask, do you pay taxes? Do you see one quarter of your paycheck taken out of your hands before you even had a chance to think about that money?
That is the attitude the Republican Party has toward anyone that doesn't make a significant amount of money throughout the year. You're clearly an inferoir being incapable of subsisting on anything but the crumbs of the wealthy. No, you contribute nothing to this country. You are not its backbone, you are not its heart, you are not its soul. The only people that matter are the millionaires, the yacht club, the CEOs.
Well, this November, we're going to have a chance to tell the powers that be just what we mean to this country. This is our nation every bit as much as it is theirs, and we don't have to take that kind of disrespect any longer. A vote for Barack Obama is a vote for you. It's a vote to remind Washington that we live here to, and we're doing everything we can to do our part. But the irresponsibilitiy and greed of the wealthy has forced a gigantic bailout package to be heaped on the backs of every American, even those that always pay their mortgages on time, those that spend their weekends working in their communities, those that understand the American ideals of hard work and responsibility.
But no, the economy doesn't affect you. We, the aristocracy, owe you nothing. You are not the ones that buy our products. You are not the ones that laid the groundwork, the infrastructure that has allowed this nation to rise so far. You are worthless. This country does not need you , it does not want you, and damn it, we are going to make sure it will never work for you.
On November 5th, America, it no longer has to be this way. Tell John McCain and his crooked lobbyist campaign managers that we need a change. This race is about you and me.
Come on, America. Yes, we can!
Today my friend Nichole and I went out and canvassed Elba Twp. in Lapeer County, and boy did we get some great responses.
We met a woman that had been taken in by right-wing claims that Barack Obama is a terrorist, or at least associated with them. Once faced with the facts, she was more than willing to discuss her concerns about the future and her ideas on how to fix it, but, as a Native American, she still shows that racial relations in this country have come along way but still need work, as nothing could fully allay her fear that Barack's motives were racially based.
It appears as though the Republican nominee for the presidency, John McCain, is conceding Michigan to Democratic rival Barack Obama.
According to a Politico story, McCain will cancel future appearances in the state, as well as cease mailing operations and television ads. The move seems indicative of the larger problem Republicans are having finding blue states to put in play.
Looks like we did it, Michigan. Yes, we can!
I must admit, I've had my doubts about Bill Clinton's commitment to the Democratic Party of late. He didn't seem too enthusiastic about Barack Obama when he talked to the press, apparently still stung by his wife's failure to secure the nomination. And while I don't think anyone should exercise blind allegiance to any political party, even former presidents, I know Bill and Barack represent the same American ideals to move this country forward.
But today, President Clinton came up big. Today in Florida, Bill gave a speech that reminds us why he was elected in the first place. He doesn't underestimate us. He gives us the facts in a form that we need to hear, the form we can understand. He tells us not only what is best for us, but why, and in simple terms. And today, his eloquence was a throwback to the politics of a time when several sectors of our economy were growing, when we weren't embroiled in a foreign war with no exit strategy, and when America still had an unmistakable luster about it.
And hopefully, he let everyone know not only that Barack Obama is the the right choice, but why. Let's face it, Bill has nothing to gain by campaigning for Senator Obama. But he understands right and wrong, and he's come to share that with us.
So, thank you, Bill. You are today just as inspirational as you were throughout your tremendous presidency.
I am going the speed limit downtown, I notice that a large truck is following pretty close to me. As I turn on my turn signal to make a left I stop at the red light. This truck is so close it's darn near inside my tail pipe! All of a sudden I hear "Obama Sucks!" Yes it is the ignorant trashy driver of the pickup truck! Just to make sure I hear him and he gets a response he continues to scream "Obama Sucks" as we are both in traffic waiting to make a left turn. As I turn into the National City bank he turns the other way and I flash him my prettiest smile and give him a thumbs up! I didn't see him after I left the drive-thru window.
To tell you all the truth I was a little shaken up. To get that upset over a bumper sticker? I just don't get it! I should have slammed on my brakes and then this piece of ignorant redneck trash could have gotten me a new back bumper and an alignment!
I also got into it with one of my friends today. She is one of those people that should have never been given a "forward" choice on her computer. This morning came one with the subject "Dangerous." The e-mail was about how Dangerous Obama is and all the horrible things he has lied about. (being a Muslim, freedom Fighter, Islam... that kind of stuff) I am DONE! I went to Snopes and factcheck and proved each "fact" to be a lie. I then sent it back to her and all the people she sent it to. I love her and her friendship means the world to me, but this e-mail full of lies just got to me. I told her...I wont even begin to tackle McCain and Palin's lies, to which there are many (again see factcheck.org) Right now I just want to show you that it isn't Barack who is Dangerous as this e-mail is entitled. What is dangerous is blindly believing what you read in an e-mail forward without checking the facts.
No one is ever going to accuse me of being the smartest person in the room or the most informed, however I refuse to spread lies, half-truths, hurtful and smearing things just because it's written in an e-mail. It only takes moments to google and get the truth from sources you can trust!
Okay I am done with my ranting.
As some of you know, I work in the TV industry, and what I saw today is just brilliant.
Here is a TV Ad that cost nearly nothing to make. One camera, one audio person and a good lighting guy. No dramatic music licensing fee's, no high priced movie trailer VO guy. No editing AT ALL. What they saved in production they spent on buying time for the new 2:00 minute spot.
Using this model, they can crank out spots overnight rebutting anything McCrap-tac-ulastic can say. And he still comes off as an above the fray politician.
And the audacity to have thought of a plan instead of just a handful of empty talking points.
He has a really good team of people who understand television and government.
Bravo Barack, Bravo!

And the news is not all rosey.
Looks like the only change is how outrageous the lies might be.

Oh, and one lie they left out... She didnt use a prompter to deliver a fantastic speach... turns out the prompter worked fine. Why the hell would you need to lie about a great speach?
Maybe she and McCain are having a how much BS the country will believe contest.
I D I O T S !
Kyle
I just love old guys... they say the darndest things.
Tuesday, John McDonalds said on monday, he meant the people of america are strong, not the economy.
Just ask the dozen or so people trying to quick sell their cars and boats along the front line of the KMart Parking lot on Lapeer road. Its a sad sign of the strengthof our peoples economy.
Brilliant from Obama today to actually come out firing off tangible ideas and tactics to fight for our economic stregth. Meanwhile McBush loans another 100B$ to a bank. I realize it is a crucial World Bank, so get some of the "World" to chip in maybe? We certainly give plenty to their economies when needed.
Here is my favorite new Obama Ad.

Palin: Let me speak specifically about a credential that I do bring to this table, Charlie, and that's with the energy independence that I've been working on for these years as the governor of this state that produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy, that I worked on as chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, overseeing the oil and gas development in our state to produce more for the United States.
McCain: Well, I think Americans are going to be very, very, very pleased. This is a very dynamic person. [Palin's] been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America's energy supply.
Alaska Resource Development Council: Alaska's oil and gas industry has produced more than 16 billion barrels of oil and 6 billion cubic feet of natural gas, accounting for an average of 20 percent of the entire nation's domestic production.
