As Saturday rolled from morning to afternoon the ice began to form on the streets and sidewalks and freezing rain began to fall. Somehow those at our Barack the Vote event braved the un-Washington like weather and gathered at Kent Station to assist South King County residents in finding their caucas locations. From as far away as Portland...yep, I said Portland, the volunteers kept the energy high with their laughter and upbeat attitudes. I want to send a big "thank you" out to all of them. They made the day so much fun!
That evening even more South Sounders gathered to watch the results roll in from SC. (Did I say roll? They stomped, pounded and flew!) More new friends joined us and we celebrated. Rep. Dave Upthegrove from the 33rd joined us. It was great to find out he was on our team! Thanks, Dave.
Another thank you. Matt Perry is our South King County district coordinator which leaves him with the daunting task of keeping us newbies heading in the right direction. How can we thank someone who has dedicated his time to putting Barack Obama in the oval office? He is young, bright and leads with a quiet strength. Matt...THANK YOU!!!
New friends, good times and a Presidential candidate who will make us feel we have had a hand in history. Life is good.
Again to ALL...THANK YOU!
