American pay taxes so millions of Govt workers and Elected officials get highly subsidized health care. At one time there was a discrepancy between public and private pay so the cost , which was minimal, of health benefits was deemed an appropriate way to keep public employees and servants happy.

Last week, Indianapolis was host to Black Expo, the largest event of its kind in the Nation. Barack's Campaign for Change had a strong presence there, registering voters, and signing up volunteers.
See for yourself:
This week, volunteers across the state are gearing up for the last 100 days of the election by reaching out in their neighborhoods and spreading the word that it's time for a change in Indiana.

Hello fellow Obamacans!
While I was at my Mom's in my small home town, I read the "Daily Clintonian" and they had the definition of a Liberal in it.
I wanted to share this with you all, since the Right (wrong) Republicans always make it sound like a dirty little 4 letter word.
Read this and you tell me just what part of it you are not proud to call yourself!
Liberal....1a.....Not limited to or by, established, traditional, orthodox or authoritarian attitudes, views or dogmas: free from bigotry.
1b....Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broadminded.
Gee if only Mr. Bush and Cheney were one of these! LOL!
I am not sure about you but I feel preety good about being able to call myself a LIBERAL and I would think anyone with half a brain would like to think of themselves as one!
Just wanted to share a smile!
I am so glad Barack is going on this trip tomorrow and I am sure he will make all of us and all of America proud.
He is so Presidential and I can see him fitting in in any circumstance he is in. I think Senator McCain is really afraid that Barack is going to do very well.
One proud Barack friend,
LuAnn

The Campaign for Change announced today that 6 offices would be opening throughout the state of Indiana.
Evansville, Fishers, Fort Wayne, Muncie and South Bend will each have offices opening this Saturday, with Bloomington coming quickly behind on Monday evening.
With the additional announcement that there are plans to open at least 20 offices in Indiana, supporters across the state are feeling the excitement that comes with the increased activity in their neighborhoods.
Brad in Bloomington had this to say:
"I think that it is exciting and energizing to know that the Campaign for Change is opening an office again here in Bloomington after the incredible success of the Primary. The old office truly became a home away from home for me. I felt like I was really doing something. So the opportunity for this community to experience that feeling to an even greater extent is exhilarating!"
In Hamilton County, Monique echoes the sense of opportunity that accompanies her new local office:
"I am not only excited about the opening of this office, I am PROUD. I am proud to see the doors open to what for me represents a new direction for our country. Our world is changing and Senator Obama will lead that change. Words cannot express my joy knowing that I can help him make these changes. I will visit this new campaign office frequently and offer my support wherever possible!"

The 4th of July weekend is the perfect occasion to help more Americans get engaged in the political process. That's what Spencer in West Lafayette says:
"What better time to convince people to register to vote? It a civic and patriotic duty to vote in our democracy and that will be on people's minds this July 4."
And he's pretty sure he's got the perfect location, too:
"Our registration drive is at Slayter Hill on Purdue's campus. Tens of thousands from West Lafayette, Lafayette, and the rest of the county go there each July 4 for a free concert and to watch the fireworks show, so it's an ideal location to get face-to-face contact with new voters."
Today the Campaign for Change in Indiana announced a list of over 15 cities across the state where voter registration events will be taking place. Johnathon and his fellow supporters will be doing there part to lend a hand:
"We have a diverse grassroots organization of Obama supporters from the primary as well as former Clinton volunteers helping us out, all in the name of expanding the electorate and bringing more people into the political system."
Find an event near you, and join in!

I just wanted to say hi and let you know I am enjoying watching McCain loose his temper. You can tell he has such a hard time controlling it.
I can't believe people won't notice it and he hates to be questioned ...period. Have you noticed this too?
Barack on the other hand is always cool. I think that is the kind of President we need.
Positive thoughts to you and watching Barack and wonderingwho he is going to pick for VP. Do you think it would be Hillary? I can't imagine after all she has said about him.
Have a great 4th of July!
LuAnn :)
From coast to coast over 30,000 Americans came together this Saturday to attend Unite for Change events, and many were occurring right here in Indiana.
If you attended one of these events, we want to hear from you!
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this weekend a rousing success!
Excitement is continuing to build around the list of key staffers being placed in Indiana. Following the Buzz surrounding the selection of Emily Parcell, Political Director in the key Iowa caucus campaign, to serve as Indiana's state Director, and the decision to bring native son Rohan Patel back to reprise his role as Political Director, Hoosiers were excited to read this in The Times of Northwest Indiana:
Barack Obama has hired an aide to U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., to be his presidential campaign spokesman in Indiana. Jonathan Swain, Bayh's press secretary, took a leave of absence earlier this year to serve as Indiana communications director for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. Swain joined the Obama campaign on Monday. "We are honored to have Jonathan joining this campaign for change in Indiana," Emily Parcell, Obama's Indiana state director, said in a statement. "His many years of experience in Indiana politics will be a major asset to our campaign team. Senator Obama is in a strong position in Indiana and intends to compete for every single vote in the Hoosier state - where voters are hungry for the kind of change Barack Obama represents."

Emily is not alone in her belief that Indiana is ready for a change. Read what Brian Howey, of HPI Weekly had to say:
Come next November, can Barack Obama carry Indiana and its 11 Electoral College votes? Yes he can... There was a record 1.7 million turnout in the May primary, including 1.3 million who voted Democratic. The Obama campaign registered at least 90,000 new voters and has a goal of registering 100,000 more Hoosiers between now and October. "It's a new year," said Michael Davis of Gauge Market Research. ...Indiana is no longer an automatic red state. Six months ago I would have said I'd be shocked if Obama would carry the state. But today I would not." Chris Sautter, an Indiana native and Washington political media consultant, said, "I think the vast majority who voted in the primary will vote Democratic in the general. And there's more. The Obama people are coming back in."

Change is coming to Indiana. What part will you play?
Hello everyone!
I am from Indiana and I know there is some buzz about Senator Bayh as a possible VP. I really liked him but he lost some of my respect when he campaigned all over the state with Hillary.
I can't believe Barack would pick her after all the negative things she has said about him
I personally like Senator Biden. I know he is a Washington insider, but he speaks his mind and does not tend to pander.
He has a lot of Foreign Affairs experience which Barack needs and I think he would counter attack anything McCain decides to throw out there!
Just expressing my thoughts. Would love to hear yours!
LuAnn............................Obama......'08
I am writing form Indianapolis, IN and we had a victory here and I am so excited.(67-36) I am so excited about the big win in NC-we are on the ball. I will continue to make calls, and send emails because I believe in this change. GO OBAMA 08!!!
I live in the Lawrence Township area. This morning I noticed on 82nd and Hague and 96th and State Road 37 there are Hillary signs posted on almost every utility pole. We need respresentation in this area too! What can I/we do to improve this situation?
I looked into my back yard this morning and felt something was different, but I could not put my finger on it. I gasped! I noticed my Obama sign was missing. I immediate ran to the front of my house. My Obama sign in my front yard was missing too! I looked to the right of my yard and saw that my neighbor's Mc Cain signs were still there. I looked further down the road and noticed my distant neighbor Hillary’s sign was still there as well. I yelled to my husband, "Hey my Obama signs are gone, and I'm calling the police to make a police report. My husband chuckled because he is a policeman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Dept. He was very sympathetic to my loss while explaining signs are stolen all the time. I took no solace in knowing this information. So to all of you that have Obama Signs in your yards be watchful because there is an Obama sign bandit(s) here in Indianapolis.
