How Cuba will determine the 2008 Election.
Whether you are pro-Cuba or anti-Cuba, the debate may continue for centuries. One thing is certain. The nearly fifty year old, U.S. Embargo on Cuba has not worked, does not work and will not work. In stating so, we are not acknowledging, supporting or condoning Cuba’s current government.
We are saying it’s time for some of America’s voters, politicians and media to evolve with Cuba, perhaps more than any other issue. It could be said; how politicians act and vote towards the five decade old failed U.S. policies with Cuba is a clear reflection on their character.
We are saying that continuing the anti Cuba embargo policies is a clear reflection of a persons character. Whether running for President of the United States, Senate, Congress or any government leadership position; a person should demonstrated the ability to change course, try new directions and see different points of view. Especially if the policy they supported has failed for fifty years.
The anti-Cuba politicians, lobby and community is a small percentage of all populations, including the Cuban population itself. Yet the anti-Cuba movement has controlled the presidency of the United States and both political houses; including this elections Republican candidate John McCain for nearly fifty years. John McCain is anti-Cuba, while Barack Obama is pro-Cuba.
Why would any politician, business person and human continue enforcing on themselves, and worse others; a failed Cuba policy that the majority of people in America, the world and mostly the island of Cuba itself do not want? See the Election 08 FREE CUBA FILM SERIES and you will find out.
Then it’s up to you to decide when you cast your vote on “Election Moment”, if you are voting for character.
Election moment is the truest moment in any election when you, the voter stand there in the privacy of your own mind right before you vote. Only you will know if you cast a vote for character, and only you can determine the issues that reflect a person’s character. Cuba is one of those clear character issues.
Election 08 FREE CUBA FILM SERIES, is committed to bring the real Cuba to America. We’ve selected three diverse films that provide audiences with a modern day love story set in Havana, Cuba. A film that gives you a glimpse into the future with the childhood version of The Buena Vista Club, and lastly, an impacting documentary that brings to life, the hidden true history of Cuban terrorism, the U.S. Politicians directly related to Fidel Castro who continued to master mind the anti Cuba movement in the U.S. and the political families who continue to enforce their historically failed policies against Cuba on the world through violence, economics and political warfare.
Will you vote for a person who is pro-Cuba and promises to create a powerful future for America uniting the world.
Or will you vote for a person who is anti-Cuba and promises to bend history to make sure America stays the current course isolating the world.
Only you will know on your “Election Moment.”

Even though we may be ahead in the polls in California, we still need to be sure we register new voters and get them all to the polls November 4th.
In addition, we can reach out and help our brothers and sisters in Nevada. The polls say Nevada is close and some of us can travel there to help register voters and canvass.
The Nevada team would appreciate our help. We are coordinating with supporters in Nevada.
It's the Obama Wild West Weekend in Las Vegas!
Join our SoCal posse as we stampede into Clark County and round up all the unregistered voters for Obama!
It's August 22-24. We're organizing caravans and carpools to Las Vegas. Limited supporter housing is available. Cheap hotel rooms are plentiful. Let's make Nevada Obama country.
Yippee!!!

so today was amazing, i donated $295.00 to Sayar R's FR page (putting my online donations @$755.00) in honor of the 134 men killed and the 161 wounded in the tragedy of the USS Forrestal (for the shocking details you have to go to dumpmccain.com), today is the 41 anniversary of the horid fire involving John McCain... so i am soooooo exited i thought i would do it again. So here's how to play, if you donate a minimum of $5.00 to my FR page in honor of the crew of the USS Forrestal you are in the running. for a donation of only $5.00 i will donate....lets see? hmmmmm....oh i got it. i will donate to your FR page $1.00 for every year John McCain wants to stay in Iraq....that's right kids $100.00. so in one week from today 7/29/08 i will select randomly that lucky Obama supporter....will it be you? i hope so....good luck. YES WE CAN, YES WE DO, YES WE WILL
I just got health insurance and went to the dentist for the first time in 6 years. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty.
Health care is such a big issue, whether to socialize it, get it to everybody...the truth is, insurance is just as much a hassle as not having it. HMOs are a joke. If you can't afford the top PPO and secondary insurance, you're still going to be paying through the nose. Also, I had to call around for like 3 hours at work just to get to the right department to get a specialist who could see me. The one my dentist gave me didn't take HMOs. Then the second one they gave me wasn't open on Wednesdays. Then the third one wasn't on the list. So basically I ended up doing everything myself anyway, and I'm going to end up paying close to full price to fix my teeth.
No, what people need to realize is that no matter who's President, they need to take personal responsibility for themselves. The government doesn't owe you shit and won't give it. They are there to save Bear Stearns, not you.
I could blame our crappy healthcare system for my current situation, but the truth is, it's my fault for not going to see the dentist for 6 years. And it's your fault for buying that house too soon. And it's your fault for having 2 kids out of wedlock. And it's your fault for dropping out of school.
I like Obama because he was the one who made me get up and go to the dentist in the first place, not because I think he's going to fix health care. Or education, or welfare.
I believe he's going to win the Presidency. Just don't expect miracles to come from it, unless We the People who support him now take the energy he provides and changes it into a personal, everyday improvement.
The election is the starting point, not the end.
What's up. I'm Milton, 27. I live right next to CSUN, and I'm always throwing these bomb ass parties and kickbacks just because. Well, I joined this board and got this idea... why not throw parties for a good cause?
Like many of you, Obama's candidacy is the only one in my lifetime that has me politically involved. I want to network and have fun with others like me.
I'm putting myself out there so that anyone who wants to be my friend, can. I'm in the Valley, so obviously I'm looking for folks around 818 and 310 first, but this is a nationwide thing, so everybody's welcome!
I've got a nice big fenced off backyard with great proximity to CSUN, Pierce, and Valley colleges. These parties are ripe for getting involvement from college students. At the parties I've been throwing, we BBQ, have music, dancing, live bands, Playstation, hookah, and of course, drinks!
If anybody has ideas on how to use this place to rally some support, I'm open to ideas. I'm definitely thinking of doing something nearer to the Pennsylvania primary.
Even black DOGS face discrimination. Oh God!

We've got to put Obama in office. Not because I'm expecting a handout because he's black and I'm black, but because America's got to get over this whole "black is second best" thing. I mean, for crying out loud!! America even discriminates against black DOGS?!
Other than phone banking, the MOST IMPORTANT thing I think anyone can do for the Obama campaign is this:
LEARN THE SENATOR'S RECORD.
There have been too many instances of supporters being publicly asked about Mr. Obama's accomplishments, and not giving a confident answer. From this comes the only real angle the Clinton campaign has when blasting Barack, and that is "lack of experience."
Though you may not be asked by a reporter, you undoubtedly will be asked by an UNDECIDED VOTER at some point. A cousin, friend, a co-worker, who will look to you as an expert! If you can confidently state an educated position on the Senator's record, it's just as if Obama himself gave a speech to that person! Probably better, because that person trusts you!
Knowledge trumps all. Learn Barack Obama's legislative record!

OBAMA GOVERNMENT REFORM + SENATE WORK
Hi again,
Quelques bons exemples et arguments pour soutenir notre candidat (De la part et réalisés par Barath Raghavan)
"I've put together two more flyers. The first is on Obama's government reform work (i.e. real change) and his unique bipartisan work. (Once again, open these PDFs in the latest Acrobat Reader.)"
http://manchester.ucsd.edu/misc/obama-reform-bipartisanship.pdf
"The second is a printable version of a NY Times summary of Obama's state senate work:"

I've combined them to make a single sheet handout (when printed double sided):

YES WE CAN
Oui cest possible
We as the last remaining super power, we are the last of the 20th century Americans, we built the greatest nation on the face of the earth from the sweat of our brow and the exhaust of the combustion engine. We sent men to the moon and back, we built 30 story dams and carved waterways to unite oceans. We survived polio, and cured small pox. We fought evil empires, and won. Except for our children who are the 21st century americans, we stand here together with this shared history and a shared responsibility. The 20th century is over. It ended, when we mapped the human genome. It ended, when we unleashed the power of the computer with the Internet. It ended, on September 11th. We can no longer depend on the machines of the past, any more than we can depend on the ideas of the past. Our enemies are not nations but are subversive global networks, our current pressing diseases use our own immune systems to attack us, and our machines use more electricity than ever before imagined. We no longer trade apples for oranges across borders, but we see labor traded for corporate profits. IF we are to leave this nation to the 21st century Americans about to enter kindergarten, as the 19th century American left it for us, it requires a new energy, a new direction, a new toughness, and more than ever real guts, to change our old ways. This nation can not drill its way out of energy dependence, it can not fight and die its way out of terror alerts, and it can not clear the skies or clean water with old energy company’s regulation rollbacks. It can not build a new clean energy infrastructure while sending billions to Halliburton to fix refineries in Iraq. It can not create 21st century jobs while cutting education or healthcare for the middle class. It can not power the 21st century economy with a massive trillion dollar debt. Americans were promised a shining city on a hill, and this administration likes to admire and emulate the man, the president, the conservative, who promised us that city. They tried to honor the man at their convention. But they do dishonor to his promise. That shining city is not a dream, it is our gift to the 21st century Americans, and it is our destiny. We can build the foundation for that city today, but it will require a new American energy. A new American focus. We must let go of the vicious cycles of might versus terror, of evil versus righteous, wisdom versus strength, of truth versus smear, and nations with us or against us. The 21st century demands it. We can no longer see nations as pure evil. We can no longer see the ivory tower of corporations as the only business model. We can no longer ignore the information war. We can no longer depend on other nations energy resources as our nation’s energy, as our primary focus, and as our reason for being. That only leads us down a vicious spiral, that alienates our allies, invigorates our enemies, destroys our environment, and numbs our electorate. And keeps that shining city miles and miles away. OR do you want to live in a city with terror warnings, dirty air and water, sons and daughters fighting over Middle East oil fields, and zealots preventing us from curing diseases? That is what we have right now… TIME FOR CHANGE IS NOW. We must search out and work towards the virtuous cycles. A cycle where each cause has a positive effect on the next cause, each building on the other, creating greater wealth, greater health, and a safer and more stable world. It sounds good, but where do we as 20th century Americans start? It starts with a new American energy.
Because energy is an environmental issue, energy is an economic issue, energy is about domestic jobs, energy is about healthcare, energy is a foreign policy issue and energy is a war issue. This candidate's energy initiatives links to the other, You can’t have clean air without clean fuel, you can’t have clean water without clean exhaust, you can’t have more jobs without new technologies, you can’t have new technologies without new standards to build on, and you can’t have new standards without new focus and new energy, and new leadership. You can’t have free independent people without energy independence. This is the virtuous cycle American deserves and has a right to have. In the 21st century everything is connected, our water, our air, our media, and our commerce. It is time we planned for a connected world where our leaders see the connections of our actions and plan for the outcomes. Theses aren’t nuances, or shifting policies, these are the complex issues he has fought for his whole life, making the connections from Baghdad to Main street USA, from healthcare to lobbying reform acts. Because if we can move towards a new American energy, we will have laid the foundation, we will have made the connection to your town, to have cleaner air, your water to be free of pollutants; the factories to be running hydrogen and biomass fuels, to new jobs to rebuild our infrastructure, to better health for seniors, and new kind of strength in facing global issues.
On that day, the day we turn off the last combustion engine, that helped build the dams, that helped carved out the land, and raised the skyscrapers to the clouds, that will be the day when each and everyone listening to his voice will be able to open the door soon some glorious morning and see that the shining city isn’t on a hill, it isn’t a distant hollow American campaign dream but a reality right out side our front door.
On that day you will have made the connection between your future, America’s future, and the vote you cast in November…
