Cable news and right wing blogs are swarming with the revisionist history on the New Deal. Arm yourself against lies, spin and propaganda by reading info from a number of sources.
Here down a article about this topic. [Media Matters is a progressive media watchdog and fact checking organization which has received accolades from numerous sources (except the right wing media which often gets debunked by Media Matters).]
The link to digg it and for article: Conservatives Cherry-Pick 1930s Unemployment Figures
Summary: Columnists Mona Charen and George Will continued a trend among conservative media of responding to comparisons between the current economic situation and that of the 1930s and between Barack Obama and FDR by attacking the New Deal. In separate columns, both Charen and Will cherry-picked unemployment figures to assert that the New Deal did not reduce unemployment. But historians and progressive economists have noted that unemployment fell every year of the New Deal except during the 1937-38 recession; further, Nobel-laureate Paul Krugman has said it was a reversal of New Deal policies, not a continuance of them, that contributed to rising unemployment in 1937 and 1938.

Yes, Bush-administration and "the same" is leading a country too, but not well, only leading to use more weapons and to occupying places in the world because of oil and so leading to waste more money. Stop this; save money, lives and nature - bring jobs back, restore the future! Yes we must fight, but for new energies and our future, to get Obama elected!

John Mcsame said his staff would have to answer the question how many homes he and Cindy own. Now some people would like to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he just can't remember. If that were true that would be one problem, but the truth is an even bigger problem. He did not want the American voter to hear him say he has 7+ homes. The straight talk express knows he does not look out for the average American voter and hearing him say how many homes he owns would only reveal his true loyalties.
There was an active campagn rolling in NC WV for the Primary Election. Following the election, folks have now had time to relax, rethink, and regoup. We need to get rev'ed up once again and begin where we left off in May. Let's get those badges out of our bureau drawers and off of the living room shelves. Of course voter registration is important again, but it seems to me that one of the most important campaign needs right now in WV is VISIBILITY. We have to get Barack Obama's name, image, and platform out in the public eye and on the public tongue. Wear those badges, show those signs, mention his name, whether it is at the gas pump, at the store, at church or on the street corner. Let's get West Virginia accustomed to Barack Obama. We need to let our friends and neighbors know that is is OK to support Obama...and he is the guy who will make the most difference in the lives of West Virginians when he is in the White House. We can do this every day....EVERYWHERE. I know it may be difficult around here to find Obama materials, since the campaign has not actually returned to WV..... but start asking for them...We must have a presence in our state if there is any hope of creating a win here for Obama.
after winning the nomination tonight, i sat and realized that Barack has the biggest fight ahead....the fight against the mccain machine and that will take all of us to get out and keep working for him and do whatever we can to get him the win in november. i cried watching his victory speech tonight, because i was filled with such hope and happiness and after breathing a quick sigh of relief, i called my sister and said that we need to get back out there and canvass more than ever.
we all know the outcome of the primary here in WV, and i know that it will be hard to get votes for him in november, but i hope and pray that we can get supporters here revved up again and get out there and keep canvassing and calling people and continuing to show our support and let people know why they should vote for Obama. i talked to alot of people before the primary and the majority of them said that if HRC was not on the ticket, that they would vote for mccain.
we have so much work ahead to get this party united and i hope that when HRC finally concedes (hopefully this week) that she will rally her supporters to back Obama and help us with the fight against mccain.
Tomorrow is important and not just because of the DNC committee is meeting, but because there will be other meetings going on at the same time. One of these meetings will be in my state and in my city and when all is done we will have another SD in the Obama camp. Pray all goes well. Pray we are not met by opposition. I didn't even know we had this meeting until 2 days ago. I'll tell you more later. Our convention is not until next Saturday. I pray God grants us the favor we need in all meetings being held this weekend.
I know this campaign has gone on to long but you can put an end to it. We want to do better than expected in KY and I know we can if you can help us. You know what opportunities were missed in your states. You know how to convince others to vote for Obama because your state has already been through this. Help us. I want to get KY ready for the general election and you and your experience can help! Help! We are almost there. We are almost done.
John Edwards Endorses Barack Obama for PresidentMake calls and share the good news!Get Out the Vote for BarackWith only 14 days until the May 20th primary, we need to act quickly to make sure as many people as possible vote for Barack.
You want to vote early and we want you to vote early! But guess what you only have a few hours left today and Saturday to do so! That's right if you don't get out there right now and vote guess who will be waiting in line? You! Make voting a family field trip. Have fun and know that you and or vote will change the course of history!
IMPORTANT: Independents can vote for Barack Obama on May 13. You simply need to request a Democratic ballot. Please call your local field office with questions.
Why are we so divided? Why can't we pick a leader? A pencil pusher is not a leader. What is wrong with us? I have one thing to say to the DNC, enough! Senator Clinton can stay in the race as long as she wants but she does not have the right to tear down the party of JFK.
Maybe it doesn't bother her that the only reason she won PA was because of votes due to fear of the black man, but it bothers me! Maybe it doesn't bother her that she is the only feminist that I know of who has gotten where she is only because of a man, but it bothers me. I loved my party and now because of her action in this race I will never trust my party again. Obama will fight for the party when up against the RNC, but she is beating up on a fellow Democrat. The Democratic party is a family. Obama would never beat up on his sister, but Hillary has no problem beating on her bother. I am disgusted! I am tired! Fighting family is no fun and it leaves you with no safe haven. I want to trust this family again. Are we still the good guys?
HUNTINGTON-- West Virginia counties in the Tri-State have shared in the increase that has pushed voter registration in the state to a record level.
The number of registered voters eligible to cast ballots in the May 13 primary election have increased between 3 and 5 percent in Cabell, Wayne, Lincoln, Mason and Putnam counties since the 2006 general election.
Statewide, more than 1.18 million voters are registered, a 4 percent increase from November 2006, according to the Secretary of State's office.
The record-high number of voters can be contributed to a number of factors, including the close battle between Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination and the inclusion of unaffiliated voters in the Democratic primary election. Election officials also say they have made concerted efforts to get more people registered.
According to final registration numbers published by the West Virginia Secretary of State's Office, the Democratic and Republican parties have increased their bases. Since the 2006 general election, an additional 16,300 voters have registered as Democrats, bringing that party's total to 665,234.
Republicans have seen an increase of about 4,800 since the last election, bringing their total to 347,760.
While slight increases have been made in the Mountain Party and the "Other" category, the most significant increase since 2006 has occurred in the number of unaffiliated voters. An additional 22,644 voters have registered as independents.
The number of unaffiliated voters has reached an all-time high this year of 156,199, and independent voters are now 13.3 percent of total voters.
In Cabell County, voter registration increased most among Democratic and unaffiliated voters, growing 821 and 769, respectively. Republican registration is down 1 percent in the county.
Jason Williams, manager of the Secretary of State's Election Division, said part of the increase can be attributed to a number of improvements and additional programs implemented by the local county clerks and the Secretary of State's Office.
"We've been working very closely with the county clerks and holding informationals with the public. More than last election, we're trying to notify the public about early voting hours," Williams said. "We're always looking for new ways to increase voter turnout and registration."
Williams said the close race between Obama, D-Ill., and Clinton, D-N.Y., also has brought more attention to the state. More people, including unaffiliated voters, have signed up to help decide the race, he said.
County clerks in Wayne and Cabell counties went around their counties registering voters at a number of places, including high schools, retirement communities and senior citizen centers. The clerks said the registration drives netted hundreds of registered voters.
Holding public registration drives, such as the one at the Westmoreland Foodland, helped the county reach more people, said Wayne County Clerk Robert Pasley. New online registration and a number of voting options have also helped register more voters.
"People say 'I don't want to go out to Wayne to register.' So when you take registration out to them, it's more convenient for them," Pasley said. "As I go out to different places, I make sure to inform them about what types of voting are available to them."
While registration numbers are important, Cabell County Clerk Karen Cole said she is just as concerned that voters actually cast ballots.
"There are thousands of people who have been registered and have never voted," Cole said. "My main focus is getting people interested in the process and getting them out to vote. When we get people interested in voting, we'll see an increase in voter registration."
Are you running just to continue a fight with Republicans? Sure you're a fighter and that's what fighters do.
I want a President who is not looking for a fight. I want a President who cares more about the country than about fighting old battles. I want a President to improve my beautiful country and unite its wonderful people. Barack Obama is that President. He will build the country up and if he has to fight for our citizen he will, but he isn't running just to fight. He's our next President. If fighting is so important to you maybe you should start practicing law again! You can fight in court all day!
