Last night was absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to see how people take this injection of energy and turn it into something. The fact that the other canidates are talking about change in Washington shows that he has already made a difference. It is up to us to really embrace the opportunity to change or at least look at things differently. I am really excited about the possibilities for Prince Georgians to work together and make our voices heard.
When the weather gets better maybe we can have a walk a thon for Obama.

Last night a group I was invited to visit discussed what can we do to make a difference. My suggestion was utilizing 1960s (or at least my idea of it) passion and zeal with 2010 technology. For example we know to reach the youth the message has to be Txt, Seen on a Cool Club looking flyer, have incentives and some of the message has to come from them. We need to have a really cool website with someone really cool talking about voting. Have the DJ's, Recording Artist, Celebrities, Sports heros come out and the kids will come. Second we know that if people are transportation challenge we need to arrange for rides to and from the election places for the Primary. Third in Prince George county especially where people have long commutes we need to have the polling places open at 4:30AM and Close at 10:30PM to give every single person the opportunity to come out and cast their vote. We know what the complaints have been let's remove them from the equation. We need to have weekly updates conference calls to discuss what challenges we had during the week getting people registered. The complaints, lack of information (email, flyer, phone call them). Can't get to the polls on time, drive them have the polls near major travel routes etc. My vote does not count yes it does count.
At every event we should have a Voter First Aid Kit. In this Kit we need signs, registration forms, voter information, issues information. At your sorority, fraternity, meeting. At the swim, track, basketball game... Register people. Send in all the forms. If it shows that we registering people we will get attention. ALthough you might want to have information to remind people that if they register other than Demorcrat they cannot vote in the demorcratic Primaries. We also need to take advantage of opportunities at next couple of mailings for my homeowners association I am hoping to send out voter registration forms. If the person is already registered then they can pass the forms along to someone else.
Perhaps we should set down a challenge the districts that register the most voters (legitimate voters, regardless of party affiliation gets a visit from Mr. Obama. Perhaps we have a measuring guide similar to the fundraising guide that shows how many people you registered. Just thoughts. Implementing them is where I need your help.
Hello everyone...
Now that I have stepped up and out on my soap box the first thing I want to do is say Hello! There is much to be done for this election just to get people informed and access. I hope to meet a new person every day on the road to Obama'08. I believe that one person can make a difference and if we learn from those otters on YouTube we can join together to help keep each other afloat. This is an exciting opportunity!
