We are in the midst of setting up County.CAN groups under Washington.CAN and want to make sure everyone on MyBO takes a moment and registers. We will be sending out a post as soon as we are completed so that you can begin planning in your county and set up similar meetings on February 7th. If you are in or around King County please consider attending this meeting:
Event Name: CAN Group Organizing Meeting
I am almost at a loss for words. Barack Obama is the President Elect. It's stunning really. Finally, after almost two years of hard work, long hours, and tireless campaigning...we've done it!
The feelings that were going around last night were amazing and contagious. You couldn't help but smile and raise your glass every 30 seconds to propose a new toast. "To Change", we said. "Yes We Can, and Yes We Did". There was an unabaited joy in everyone that I've never seen in anybody when it comes to politics. It's something that is hard to describe, something that is a campaign slogan, but something that has been damn hard to reach for in the past 8 years. But what it boils down to, what the glow on everyone's faces last night was HOPE. No fear, no questions, no worrying, no having to go and work at it right away. For a few moments in time we were all able to bask in that sweet, sweet glow of HOPE. We could all feel it, see it on each other's face, in our speeches and hugs. Nervousness and weariness were replaced with it.
HOPE.
The time has come. This campaign is not over. It is just at another beginning. We must push onward and work to see to it that everyone American is able to share in our glow. There are those out there who would run from it, afraid of change and a new beginning. We must help them see the benefits. As Barack said last night, "I may not have won your vote tonight...I will be your President too." We can not fall into the patterns of old, balking at differing opinons, and when things don't go our way, taking our ball and going home. That cannot be. This is a time when we can reach across the aisle, shake hands with our neighbors of differing opinions and yet still get things done. We must unite and work together in order to succeed in this great nation, or we will fail seperately.

There's a blog going around facebook stating that on Sep 30th starting at 12am all those voting for Barack should wear BLUE in support. Wear it all day. That's part of the goal. The other part is to register two unregistered voters. If you can't register voters, try to talk to two voters who may be on the fence.
Remember, Sep 30th is Wear Blue for Barack Day!
Due It!

I need some help!
I need someone who works or volunteers for the Obama Campaign to let me ask them a couple of questions for an interview... It is just for a school project so it's not in any detail. I only have to write 3 pages so I won't take alot of your time I just need to answer these questions...
1. Can you give me a short bio of youself?
2. What is a quick job description of what you do for the campaign?
3. How do you explain your passion for politics?
4. What are the important issued being discussed in the campaign (meaning the concerns, ideas, challenges, and obstacles facing the campaign)?
Thank you for anyones help!
So, I've just now joined the Barack "interweb" as it were. I've been a follower of his since the first debates. I've enjoyed watching Obama throughout the past year and becoming more and more excited about getting involved.
I was able to contribute to my local caucus, even being asked to become a delegate.
I went and saw Obama speak at the Key Arena in Seattle, and was amazed to see him do what the Seattle Sonics couldn't do...sell out Key Arena! Not only sell out but they had to turn more than 3000 people away!
So far, my experience has been...trying to think of a more powerful word than awesome, but I don't think there is one. My experience watching Barack campaign and to have become apart of this grassroots movement is exactly that....AWESOME!
I look forward to contributing more, either in the community or through my blog.

Every where I see people saying how easy it is to get involved. I don't know about that. I'm in Federal Way, 23 and I guess I'm not quite as familiar with the system as some of you. I don't attend college I work a 8-5 and have already graduated so there are no local college groups making it easy to find information. All I find are websites, that lead to websites, that lead to e-mails that almost never reply.
I'd like to be active, i'd like to help the Senator from IL win, but as I can't seem to find contact other then the primary vote not sure what to do. I don't even know enough about a cacus to attend one for him.
Just my little thoughts.
As someone who studied international business and has made it my livlihood; I believe the World Market will be competetive and lead to the most benefit world wide through utlizing our best competetive advantages. But this must be done responsibly and with the proper checks and balances. NAFTA and the WTO need cleaning up, and this talk of a North American Union is kinda scary but a notion that based on EU we may need to look into. I rely on open trade and borders especially with China, but I also want the products I help bring into to the USA be safe and tested in the same way was USA made products and Exports.
We must not become protectionist/isolationist over some bad press and isolated incidents, American products need to compete and we must fight to eliminate foreign tariffs and subsides for foreign exporters. This is one HUGE reason I am voting for Mr. Obama. Not to mention he give me hope and I think he actually has ethics some great leadership qualities, I would be afraid if Hillary is elected nothing will get done except partisan bickering. I am attending tomorrow's rally and hope you all do to. I am late to the Obama camp but I am here and plan to devote my full time and support, Please join me as a freind in this cause. Thanks,

Virtual phone banking through votebuilder.com will be a daily event up to the caucus date of Feb 9th. Hundreds of calls are already being made by Obama supporters on a daily basis to get the caucus vote out on Saturday. Please join in on the effort: http://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/4r525 Please be patient as it takes time to get an acct set up with votebuilder.com in order to access the Obama virtual phone banking. It is well worth the wait and effort. -- Caucus for Barack!

As Saturday rolled from morning to afternoon the ice began to form on the streets and sidewalks and freezing rain began to fall. Somehow those at our Barack the Vote event braved the un-Washington like weather and gathered at Kent Station to assist South King County residents in finding their caucas locations. From as far away as Portland...yep, I said Portland, the volunteers kept the energy high with their laughter and upbeat attitudes. I want to send a big "thank you" out to all of them. They made the day so much fun!
That evening even more South Sounders gathered to watch the results roll in from SC. (Did I say roll? They stomped, pounded and flew!) More new friends joined us and we celebrated. Rep. Dave Upthegrove from the 33rd joined us. It was great to find out he was on our team! Thanks, Dave.
Another thank you. Matt Perry is our South King County district coordinator which leaves him with the daunting task of keeping us newbies heading in the right direction. How can we thank someone who has dedicated his time to putting Barack Obama in the oval office? He is young, bright and leads with a quiet strength. Matt...THANK YOU!!!
New friends, good times and a Presidential candidate who will make us feel we have had a hand in history. Life is good.
Again to ALL...THANK YOU!

The Iraq speech today was awesome, you can read it if you go to the front page. Even better, you can spread the word with the new phonebank system: http://my.barackobama.com/page/contact/splash/iraq091208
I tried it out and it had me calling people RIGHT NEARBY ME! I even knew some of them, and one was me!
I highly encourage everyone to do some calling and spread the word on Obama's Iraq Plan!!!
Thanks,
Shan
