I, personally am ecstatic that the proposed bailout bill did not pass in congress today. To pass a bill simply because "we need to act" is reckless and shortsighted.
We need a solution, not merely the appearance of a solution. The house and senate should get to work in drafting a bill that will actually help, instead of trying to jam through the first piece of emergency legislation proposed by the worst administration in our nation's history. Obama needs to step up and lead on this issue because clearly nobody else has a satisfactory plan yet.

It will be held in Suffern, NY which is only about forty five minutes away. More than 600,000 Americans have lost their jobs by the end of August. To put that number in perspective for McSame/Failin'; That's almost the entire population of the state of Alaska!!!
The recent news regarding Sarah Palin's daughter pregnancy along with Sarah's response and other Republicans reponses are very interesting. "Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents." This statement to me implies Sarah is actually "Pro-Choice".
Not really knowing how the conversation went when Bristol told her mother, but apparently there was a family decision process that occurred. Did they consider the decision to abort? Did they consider the decision of adoption? Certainly the final decision was to have the baby and for Bristol to become a mother and marry the father of her baby. My point here, is their decision process was more "Pro-Choice" than "Pro-Life" - which I am very proud of them of the choice they made.

I wish Bristol, the father, the baby and the rest of the family well. My prayers are that the decision for Bristol to marry the father, doesn't turn out to be the old traditional "shot-gun" wedding. Certainly, arrange marriages are very common in other coutries and for the most part, they do last. In today's environment, can shot-gun marriages really last? I don't have any statistics. But, I will say that they can last, only if the couple work at it.
