Let's go change the world...
It's time for Health Insurance Reform!
Joe da Plumber seems to be a decent, hardworking, and proud American, and that is cool. However, by no fault of his own, he has been adopted by the Republican base as Mr. Average American, when HE WOULD EARN OVER 5 TIMES THE NATIONAL AVERAGE INCOME after purchasing his business. He is 5 times wealthier than I am, I earn 51,000, the national average. I do not begrudge this hardworking man the wealth which he deserves. I just do not want to pay more. So Joe, if I need to take some of your chips to save some of mine then you had better damn well believe that I'm gonna put my hands into your big fat stack of chips. And I hope and pray that 'President Obama' digs a big craps rake across your stack if it'll save me money, thereby further facilitating upward social mobility for me and the other 50% of America who earns the national average or less.
Sorry, Joe, looks like the I's have it, we gotta get in your pocket. Thanks for helping out.
P.S. : F , Joe da Plumber, send him a plate of bacon.
Remember citizens, the rich feed off the poor, and the smart feed off the rich.
Its genetically programmed behavior.

Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham ClintonThursday, Sep 4, 2008
The two party conventions showcased vastly different directions for our country. Senator Obama and Senator Biden offered the new ideas and positive change America needs and deserves after eight years of failed Republican leadership. Senator McCain and Governor Palin do not.
After listening to all the speeches this week, I heard nothing that suggests the Republicans are ready to fix the economy for middle class families, provide quality affordable health care for all Americans, guarantee equal pay for equal work for women, restore our nation's leadership in a complex world or tackle the myriad of challenges our country faces. So, to slightly amend my comments from Denver: NO WAY, NO HOW, NO McCAIN-PALIN.

By Shailagh Murray Sen. Barack Obama delivered a statement from Hawaii about the worsening crisis in Georgia, declaring of Russia's aggression in the former Soviet republic, "There is no possible justification for these attacks."
The Illinois senator interrupted a family vacation to address the conflict and said he had spoken to Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to convey "my deep regret over the loss of life, and the suffering of the people of Georgia." Like Sen. John McCain, Obama called for "active international engagement" to address the dispute, "including a high-level and neutral international mediator, and a genuine international peacekeeping force -- not simply Russian troops." Russia, Obama continued, must stop its bombing campaign and flights in Georgian airspace, and withdraw ground forces from Georgia. "The Georgian government has proposed a cease-fire and the Russian government should accept it. There is also an urgent need for humanitarian assistance to reach the people of Georgia, and casualties on both sides." He urged the United Nations to send a mediator to join a French and Finnish delegation in Georgia.
"We should also convene other international forums to condemn this aggression, to call for an immediate halt to the violence, and to review multilateral and bilateral arrangements with Russia -- including Russia's interest in joining the World Trade Organization," Obama said. The Democratic candidate's brief public appearance punctured an otherwise quiet week on the island where Obama spent much of his childhood. The Honolulu Star Bulletin ran photos of the senator walking in the surf with Chicago friend Marty Nesbitt and waving to onlookers after a golf outing. It reported that he had jogged barefoot on Kailua Beach and delivered a gift basket to his grandmother with his wife and daughters. According to the paper, Obama is staying in a private beachfront home.
He sketched out his plans at a 4,000-person rally on the first day: "I'm going to get a plate lunch. I might go to Zippy's. I might go to Rainbow Drive-In. I haven't decided yet. Get some Zip Min. I'm going to go get some shave ice. I'm going to go body surfing at an undisclosed location. I'm going to see my tutu -- my grandma -- and I'm going to watch my girls play on the beach, and once in a while I might go into the water. But mostly I'm going to watch them."
"Obama's presence caused a stir everywhere he showed up," the paper reported, but one prominent resident wasn't impressed -- Hawaii's GOP Gov. Linda Lingle. "This is not 'American Idol,'" the McCain supporter said of the choice facing voters this year, according to the article. "This is making an important decision on who should lead our nation."
The New Yorker described Barry Blitt's work as lampooning of "scare tactics and misinformation in the Presidential election to derail Barack Obama's campaign.""The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Senator Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create," Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said."But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree," Burton added.
I think the idea that the Obamas are branded as unpatriotic [let alone as terrorists] in certain sectors is preposterous. It seemed to me that depicting the concept would show it as the fear-mongering ridiculousness that it is.
I recently attended a music and arts festival in Tennessee called Bonnaroo. Maybe some of you have heard of it. In any case, there was a strong Obama presence there, so I thought I'd share a few images.
If you look at the truck in the background, someone took the Bonnaroo font type and changed it up to say 'Obamaroo'.

I met this very nice lady while photographing a piece of artwork at the festival. I used her daughter as a model. She was so adorable!
At Bonnaroo, the rows and rows of tents and RV's tend to all look the same, so a visual aid is often needed, or else you'll end up wandering around for hours trying to find your campsite! A friend of mine thought that an Obama flag would be the perfect visual aid, so the nite before we left, I headed over to Jo-Ann's Fabrics and picked up some supplies. Unfortunately, there were very heavy winds, so the flag began to fray (as you can see from the photo) and it didn't make it home. :( But you can at least see a video of it flying proudly here. :)
I love to read op-ed's, especially on Sundays. They are so interesting and inciteful. I can't imagine even 10 years ago before newspapers and columns were posted online. What could you do if you wanted to read the New Yorker, Washington Post, The Nation, The New York Post, The LA Times, and The New York Times in the same day? You couldn't, damnit. Yay for teh internets and the google.
Anyway, here's my fav from today.
Why can Obama win the religious vote? If they're smart like this guy:
"I'm an orthodox Christian, and I am definitely drawn to Obama," says Patton Dodd, a 33-year-old editor at beliefnet.com. Dodd adds that many of his peers like Obama too: "Last week I had lunch with the publisher of the nation's main evangelical youth publishing company and the director of a big relief organization," he says. "They are hardcore Obama supporters. They donate."
Dodd thinks that Obama's message of compassion for the sick and the poor, the critical state of the environment, and interfaith unity is particularly resonant; issues that were once non-negotiable, such as abortion, have been relegated by younger evangelicals to the dustbin of wedge issues. "I asked someone about abortion, and he said, 'I'm less concerned with policies that kill the unborn than policies that kill the living.' This generation wants the culture wars to be over. We want a truce. We hate the metaphor that we battle for values."
Awesome. :)

Dear Senator Obama,
I am congradulating you a day early (40.5 delagate to go !!) on your nomination as Democratic Party Candidate for Presidency of the United States. This is very exciting, seeing the plan come together! And I am very proud to be part of your campaign. It is a rare gift in one's life to watch and witness a truly great leader at work for the country and people that we love. I believe that you shall leave a wise and benevolent legacy on behalf of the United States, as well as Humankind, in the history books.
Good luck against Senator McCain. Regardless of the deepest inner workings of his mind, he is no doubt surrounded, permeated, and probably surveilled by the Evil Republican War Machine that we all know will, without doubt, sneek, lie, cheat, probably steal, definately kill (probably me, for writing this), and do anything possible to snake the vote. But I remain optimistic and faithful in CHANGE.
With Sincere Respect,
Haji

Ed Rendell has been a force in PA politics for over 3 decades now. He is someone who is far more familiar with how systems and elections are processed in this state then our campaign and campaign lawyers. If we are serious about winning PA we need to be aware that highly unethical and illegal tactics will be employed in trying to secure HRC a 4-9% win here in PA and Ed Rendell a shot at the VP. We need to alert all agencies and departments that could potentially influence PAs primary, that they are being documented and watched extraordinarily closely. Unfortunately workers in these offices and departments are extremely loyal to Rendell and his cause, being that they are employed by his Gov't. We need to be beyond vigilant in terms of insuring a fair and equitable election in PA. It's NOT going to simply happen that way. PA was recently ranked 3rd most susceptible to election tampering (blackboxvoting.org). Ed Rendell has the potential to be the Katherine Harris of PA. Let’s do what we can to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Email Ed Rendell and demand a transparent process here in PA. Let him and all of his Gov't we, the people are watching very close.
Thanks,
Tim
PS -- If you watch Meet the Press from this week, it's creepy how sure PA he is that HRC will win by %4-9.
Attention Obama community,
After 2 weeks of consistant canvassing, I am pleased to report we are making signifigant inroads against the Clinton Machine here. A substantial block of voters have moved from favoring Clinton to undecided, many leaning Obama or strong Obama backers after I speak with them.
I have found a highly effective tactic for communicating with the undecided demographic. Here it is, both candidates are very similar on the issues. There is however one issue where there is clear seperation, ethics and transparency. Now more then ever we need a role model for America, someone who young people can look up to and respect. Hillary Clinton simply is not that person. Take the past couple of weeks as a microcosm of her charactor, Bosnia, etc. HRC, American children all over the Country want to know the difference between misspeaking, and flatly lying.
If we make ethics and transparency the focal point of the campaign down the homestreth I believe we can win the state outright, that's a fact.
I sincerely hope this message gets conveyed to the proper channels. Thanks!
In the true spirit of Barack Obama's grassroots candidacy for President, I am pleased to announce Voices for Change, as an official campaign event. Voices for Change is a concert and art show to raise awareness and funds for Obama's 2008 run for the White House. In light of the event being a formal fundraiser all FEC guidelines will be followed to the letter of the law. Please see the following link to RSVP and more importantly, be sure to select the "pledge online" option, not the "pledge onsite" option. Tickets are selling fast and wil likely be soldout soon, as there are only 350 available.
http://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/fundraising/4r722
In addition to the music and art show, there will be a tent with Victory beer, a campaign information center, offiicial campaign merch, food, and limited edition event posters. As of now there are a couple of names being floated as MCs for the night, we will have this aspect solidifed by the end of the week. There will be auctioning off of services, including, a life coach, and a vacation. Please contact me if you'd like to donate services for the evening. We are still in need of "in kynd" contributions. Please contact Tim @ 6109090429 with interest.
