The Obama gas prices? $2.60. The Republican peak manipulation oil monopoly corrupted market distortion prices? $4.50. ... Which one is better? Many Republicans would claim $4.50, since they like the environment, and green, wind, solar-thermal and solar-cells, geothermal and sea waves energy. ... Well guess what, YES WE CAN have clean green energy - under the right management, under the right, pro-America Presidency, even at gas at $2.70 !! Check that out. .... Elected by The People, for The People, for The America. United We Stand
The cost of real medical reform - $0.00.No need - do not set up - new taxes. Payments through employers will be redirected to Universal public-private single payer system. Runaway fraud private insurance medical monopolies prices and their rises 10 -20% a year will be regulated. Extend Medicare to everyone. This will bring significant savings in the future, and it will boost competitivness of the country on the world markets.
I want this Presidency, this President, Mr. Barack Obama, to be known to history as ENDING the health care slavery to powerful insurance medical special monopolies in The Usa. Thank you.
The resources are at http://friendfeed.com/news3 , including Michael Moore take on it - 1. Universal health care available to everybody, 2. Abolish all insurance companies 3. Tightly regulate pharma companies ... to avoid outrageous overcharging ....... currently, premiums rise 10-10% a year ......
A real reform will cost $0. And its the best investment. The payments through employers will be redirected to single payer system. everybody pays, according to what they can, and everybody has the healthcare ... lets stop this mad system of corporate overcharge megafraud .....
Not to have a health care is a human rights violation. The same goes for a homelessness of a human being. Be it in the industrialized world, or in a third country.

ARE THEY TRYING TO TOPPLE THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT AGAIN ??From the news : "Investigators talked to Barack Obama" ..... (regarding Governor Blagojevic sting operation investigation).Even before he takes the office this time ?
Yes, people, this election, this change, this redistribution and recharge of our democracy strength is about Joe The Plumber.Go Mr Vicepresident! Plumb the leaks, wherever they might be! The gas tank certainly was leaking at $4.50. Now at $1.80, that is more like it. Hundreds of billions for unnecessary wars.
With this new Administration, the American leadership in the world will be strengthened, renewed, and done so yet not with war, force and coercion, but again by example, by moral leadership, by inspiration and cooperation, and with utmost respect for all and from all.
That is the American way, and that is the way it always will be.
Let there be peace on our planet Earth! The United States of America, with your acknowledgement of all, will continue to lead the way.
1. Universal single payer healthcare system, just as the rest of the world. It'l be less expensive, support the economy and the country, and it wont violate human rights just as current "system" does. Have concurrently private plans also.
2. Withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan immediately. No eastern push in Europe, no radar defense. Provide security and peace by mutual accords. Engage the region economically and politically, not with new weapons.
3. Cut defence budget by 30%. Eliminate all waste. Keep the deterrent, keep Usa the strongest in the world. Immediately stop the torture practices, immediately shut down Guantanamo base camp.
4. Eliminate tremendous waste in Medicare system.
5. Prevent monopolies to corrupt the market, especially in the oil industry. Prevent the usage of dangerous, out-of-control financial tools in the finance industry - lead, regulate sensibly. Defend the healthy market conditions.
6. Deal with 911 openly. Investigate. Say what it really was - a controlled demolition. We have seen it live on tv.
7. Car industry - invest in this country, build factories (not only car factories) and manufacture here, not in China. Support the car industry, also redistribute the robbery profits from oil monopolies to car industry.
8. Raise minimum wage to a reasonable level.
9. Eliminate the Dept of Homeland Security, immediately after the last unfortunate war security fallout is settled (the endles war of civilizations and occupations).
10. Completely reevaluate the relationship with Cuba - install normal relations, promote free enterprise, American interests while respecting that local system - let Cubans themselves establish their own system.
I have been following a lot of debates about the whole Obama vs. McCain thing on message boards recently, and one thing that I've noticed is that a lot of Obama supporters seem to have trouble asking a question frequently fired at them by independants/McCain supporters: 'Why do you support Barack Obama'. Some of the replies that I've read have frankly disgusted me. Screeds, rants, and invectives against John McCain and Sarah Palin, blind repitition of liberal talking points, the kind of vague 'Yes We Can!' 'He inspires me!' stuff that's giving us a reputation of being blind cult followers.
So I thought I would post for you a post that I've been spreading around on the interwebs, detailing why I support Barack Obama. It's mostly focused on Obama's strengths, it lists specifics that have little to do with issues (because anyone who was gonna vote Obama on issues is already supporting him), and, with only a few exceptions, stays away from attacking John McCain. You are welcome to take and recycle this in your own words, but if you decide to use my words, please link back here. :)

My brother-in-law, Michael, sent this to me yesterday and I thought it was great and want to share it with you to share with others. Read on:
I’m a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight…..(hope I’m not offending anyone)
* If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you’re “exotic, different.”
* Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, a quintessential American story.
* If your name is Barack you’re a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
* Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you’re a maverick.
* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you’re well grounded.
* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you don’t have any real leadership experience.
* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.
* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you’re not a real Christian.
* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you’re a Christian.
If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
* If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state’s school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant , you’re very responsible.
* If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family’s values don’t represent America’s.
* If you’re husband is nicknamed “First Dude”, with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn’t register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.
OK, much clearer now.

Today I ordered an Obama T-shirt and gave money to MoveOn.org for their campaign to register young people.
It bothers me that in all the hype about Sarah Palin, Americans seem to be losing sight of the issues in this campaign and it frightens me to think that "personality" is going to be the deciding factor, not hard facts, and a solid plan for returning this country to what it was before it was captured by Bush et al.
I am supporting Obama because for the first time in too many years, I have hope that our country can be great again.
Today is my birthday (cue cheers!), and for my birthday, I treated myself to something that I have never, in 20 years of following politics, have done. I made a donation to a campaign. I don't have to tell you whose.
I don't know if any of you have been following Project Chanology, which is an internet movement opposing the Church of Scientology. I've been watching it off and on because I'm interested in any kind of protest that manages to draw my generation out of, as McCain would put it, our mother's basements. (Insert HUGE EYEROLL here.) I don't follow their cause, but their methods intrigue me.
Chanology uses a party atmosphere for their protests. They bring boom boxes and cake, dance around, dress up in costumes, etc. This upbeat, friendly protesting style is something new. Most protests that I've seen have a lot of angry people in them, and this can be counter-productive, since no one wants to be around angry people.
Lately, I've been wondering -- would it be possible to apply the methods that Chanology uses for their protests to a rally?

I will be in Davis, CA on the 28th for business and was wondering if anyone in the local area will be hosting

I would like to see & hear it and NOT be sitting in traffic wasting gas....
Please let me know if anyone is hosting a "watching" party or just to be able to watch.?
I already called "sports bars" and they have Special Orders NOT to put anything other
than sports ON the TV's especially Political... so that's out...
Please let me know if you know of any... TIA ;-)
I issue the following challenge to Barack Obama:
Go to Harry Reid on the brightest day he can find. It must be a day when the steps of the capitol building are so bathed in the light of the sun that there is nowhere to hide. On this day Barack must demand that the Majority Leader accompany him to those steps and pledge to end all business before the Senate. Until such time as the House puts before them articles of impeachment with teeth sharper than anything found on a shark, a tiger, or any viper the Senate will stop government. And I mean NO BUSINESS.....no criminal legislation, no appropriations, and no appointments (and you must keep the Senate in skeleton session to prevent any recess appointments). I also want Reid to sign a provisional resignation from the Senate that says if he fails to act faithfully on his pledge he will leave the Congress. You want "leadership you can believe in or trust or whatever" well there it is.....that, good citizens, IS LEADERSHIP!!!! You want my support back.....those are my terms. And I don't want to hear any of you snot-nosed little whiners telling me I'm being childish or unreasonable. It is this country's weak-kneed acquiesence to the criminals currently in power that is childish and unreasonable. It's time to grow up America. IT'S TIME TO BE GREAT AGAIN!!!!!!
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I say my support for Barack Obama is now provisionally suspended. I cannot, in good conscience, support a man who has voted to attack the 4th Amendment and has rhetorically opposed the 13th Amendment of the Constitution.
4th Amendment
Barack had three choices when he considered his vote for the new FISA legislation and unfortunately he made the only wrong choice of the three. His first choice was to vote ‘Nay’. This choice would have been, overwhelmingly, the right choice. This would have signaled his willingness to actively defend the Constitution by showing real leadership in making hard choices. Mr. Obama’s second choice, and one that even John McCain made, was to have abstained from voting. This would have let us all know that even in his desire to make political calculation he would not vote to inflict further damage on the Constitution. But he failed this test of leadership. He voted to assault the Constitution and deny accountability for those who have transgressed against the rule of law. This is an act I cannot forgive.
13th Amendment
It shocks my conscience that I, a man who is as white as the driven snow, should have more respect for the 13th Amendment than Barack Obama. It seems to me that Barack should oppose slavery and forced servitude with every fiber of his being. He has not. His support of any state that would, by law, end the choice of a woman to end her pregnancy at any time she deems fit constitutes his acceptance of forced servitude. For the state to take possession of a woman’s uterus, at any time, without paying her the national average daily rate for an ICU bed (a woman’s uterus provides every function found in an ICU ward and then some) or first convicting her of a crime relating to her pregnancy is the very definition of forced servitude. Yes….being pro-choice is being anti-slavery/forced servitude and Barack has made statements exactly on the wrong side of this issue.
With that I am declaring my support for Obama’s presidential candidacy officially on hold until Barack takes concrete steps to correct his path. At this time my intent is to leave the choice for president unchecked on my November ballot.
(Leslie Marcus wrote up this summary of the Fourth of July activities in Woodland. I'm posting this on her behalf.)
Mr.Obama
You voted in favor of a new FISA bill that constitutes a massive assault on the Constitution. You stepped dangerously close to an act of treason when you cast your 'Aye' vote. In case you need an adecation about how web based communications work here you go:
If I want to send an email from myself in the Sacramento area to someone in Seattle, the San Francisco Bay Area, or Las Vegas that message will not necessarily stay in the United States. It will choose the path of least resistance. This means that if the network paths in the U.S. are busy my message may be routed trhough Japan, Mexico, or Canada. Once my message leaves this country it becomes prey to this beast of a FISA bill. And say my message contains electoral strategy for the Democratic party then with the powers you just voted to give the President he will see this message. You can rest assured that if GW Bush sees something beneficial to the McCain campaign he will pass it on. And you can make all the legal arguements you want about how this bill has safeguards......RUBBISH!!! With people like David Addington and John Yoo around, Bush will have all the legal cover he thinks he needs to let him continue to run rough-shod over the Constitution until he leaves office and there will be no judicial review. And if he provides McCain with good election intelligence you may not be the President to clean up this mess. You're messing up Barack. It's time you return to the liberal values this country needs to correct the past seven and a half years of neo-con corruption and lawlessness. If you want to be the one to take the oath to protect and defend the Constitution in late January of next year you had better start protecting our rights NOW!!!!!
