BEWARE...
ABSENTEE BALLOT POSTAGE DIFFERS FROM COUNTY TO COUNTY Absentee Ballots vary from county to county in most states. Here is Broward county, Florida the ballot will cost $1.17 to mail back. This all depends on how many "extras" the county has on the ballot. This translates into extra ballot pages in the packet, thereby creating a higher than usual postage. Most states should have the postage required, printed on the instructional page of the ballot packet. Here in Broward County, the pages are printed in black ink but the postage requirement on that instructional page is printed in red ink.
If yours does not have the postage listed, please take the ballot INTO the nearest post office so that they can properly weight the envelope and apply correct postage.

Is it important to vote early? Yes, for many reasons.
What if there is something wrong with your registration? You will find out early by voting now.
What if your id is not in order? You will find out early by voting now.
What if you need to get to work and cannot afford to be late? You can vote when the time is convenient for you and avoid the lines on Election Day. That said there are not lines in some areas to vote early.
I voted early and was the only person there so there was no line.
By voting early you have ensured that your vote has been entered. That if you get sick on Election Day or have some other household emergency that you vote will still be entered.
If you live abroad then mail your absentee ballot in as soon as you receive it to ensure that it gets counted. Some states have not been counting ballots that are not received on time due to a lack of postage stamp so make sure they receive it by Election Day. Use express mail if you have it available.
We cannot afford to take this election for granted. Anyone who remembers their history knows that Dewey was a shoe in for president and that he lost to Truman. The poles cannot be believed, voter/election tampering aside.
Not everyone is unemployed. There are some people out there working very hard and are not paying much attention to the news. Help them by informing them that they can vote early and avoid the long lines.
None of us should be complacent just because the “poles” say that Barack Obama is ahead by 10 points. They are poles and they can be wrong. So make sure your vote and that of your friends are heard by voting early.

It was brought to my attention that here in King County (Washington State), the postage for mailing your ballot might actually be $0.83 to mail it out. I don't know where that person was mailing from or what the deal is, but it alarmed me that people might not be checking that the postage is correct. I always weigh my letters before mailing and highly suggest others should do so especially when mailing in ballots and any other very important documents.
Our ballot's mailing envelope does not state that EXTRA postage is required, in fact it only says "POSTAGE REQUIRED - Affix First Class Stamp." Usually you will notice this on the envelope when you buy a Holiday/Birthday car that is either heavy, thick, and/or large. To be certain whether you have the correct postage stamp, please make sure to check the weight of your ballot before affixing the correct postage. PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE ON!!! Last thing we need are returned ballots that won't make it to the elections offices in time to count towards the general election.
What I have decided to do is not to mail my absentee ballot, instead I am going to one of the 10 ballot drop box locations to turn my ballot in. You should receive an extra piece of paper that will direct you to those locations if you are a King County voter (I'm unsure of other counties & states). King County drop boxes will be open Friday Oct. 17th until 8pm on Election Day (Nov. 4th). If you lost your paper or would like more information, you can see a list of ballot drop box locations online and it has a FAQ column on the right hand side if you have questions about the process of how to do this Go to: http://www.kingcounty.gov/elections/voting/ballotdropboxes.aspx
This way you can ensure that your ballot is received. I suggest to educate others on this issue even if they have turned in their ballot. That way we can get the message passed on and so that we can lessen the margin of error. Please make sure to double check that your vote will definately be counted. It's worth it. :)
IF YOU SEE OR ENCOUNTER ANY PROBLEMS AT EARLY POLLING PLACES AS WELL AS ON NOVEMBER 4TH, PLEASE CALL: ELECTION PROTECTION: 1-866-OURVOTE YOU MAY EVEN CALL THEM IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS RECEIVING YOUR REQUESTED ABSENTEE BALLOT. PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ALONG TO ALL OBAMA SUPPORTERS
Thanks,

John McCain is saying that leadership is what we need right now, but McCain's leadership experience has lead us down the road to the economic troubles we are in right now! In 1991 he supported former Sen. Phil Gramm's bill that toar down the barriers that were put up after the crash of 1929. Those barriers put up the regulation that keep companies from taking risky moves that hurt the ecomony. Now McCain is saying we need regulation, although important, is not the problem it is greed. Flip-flop? What McCain fails to mension is that his cheif campain manager, Rick Davis, got I believe $15,000 a month from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to keep regulation away so they can make those risky moves and hurt the economy to help themselves and they got into trouble. Greed will always be in companies that is why regulation is essential in keeping companies in check.
McCain is now saying that we need to regulate cronism after 26 yrs. of being a deregulator. Deregulation is what got us into this mess. Do you want to take the risk of a "president" John McCain who will embrace the same policies of deregulation that has gotten us into this mess? I Don't! Yes, John McCain the economy is not your strong point. At a time like this we don't need to take the risk of a person of experience that records show is part of the problem. That is not a risk I or the American people need to take a part of! Thanks but no thanks, John McCain, your experience is not needed!

I am up quite early doing law school home work and find myself also mentally engaged with Joe Scarabough on the "Morning Joe" show. He is talking about essentiall how Obama is "weak" for not calling out the Republicans on the allegations that he is sexist and the ads they have out there showing the campaign pouncing on Sarah Palin like a "pack of wolves". Barack, you are not running aainst Sarah Palin, you are running against John McCain. There is no need to let this dominatrix get into your head and cause you any lost brain time or space. Everything politically is in your favor to win this election...the conomy is horrible, an advanced education is out of reach for most individuals graduating from high school and our school age children are laggin behind daily because of false promises made through "No child left behind" and the lack of pride in public school education. Energy costs are rising because of our lock-step dependence on foreign oil and our inability to see that that out greatest energy sources are waiting to be tapped here on our soil and, most importantly, people have lost sight of what is great about being an American. Don't worry about Sarah Palin and her attack dog style...let her ride on her newness until it all comes crashing down in their faces. The lies will slowly encompass their campaign and they will be seen for what they truly are...people who are out of touch with ALL facets of what makes this counrty great. Please continue to hammer home the messages about the economy, health care, education, energy, equality for all, and the pride of being an American. The voters will get the message and vote for the right candidate when the dust settles. The only reason the Republicans continue to hammer home this message of sexism in the campaign is because (1) they think that women are shallow in their understanding about what sexism really is and (2) they have no real solutions for the problems that are facing everyday Americans so they throw up smoke screens to keep you off your message and trick the media into covering worthless stories. I am curious to see how many people attend McCain rallies while Sarah Palin is in Alaska seeing her son off to Iraq? That might be a not so subliminal message to those of us who follow politics that no worthy of your time no one is interested in McCain and all of the interest is with Sarah Palin...maybe the ticket should be Palin-McCain... No matter what all of the so called "political geniuses" say just stay on your message, get outh there to every state that you can to spread that message and know that voters will make the right decision. Use the women of the Democratic party to defuse the "Palin Mystique" while bolstering your message of change.
You have to get our there and be with the people and let them...us know your message of change for this nation. No one can assume that people in West Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, and other traditional "red" states believe your message, let alone would go into a voting booth and elect an African American man President of the United States. Unfortunately, our country is still divided racially and some believe that we are not worthy of getting an education, let alone being President of the United States. That's why "face time" is so essential to your cause...you have to let people know...even though they SHOULD know that you love your country and will do anything to protect it, your family means everything to you, your'e passionate about fixing what ails our nation and put it back on the right track...and that you ARE the best person to be President of the Unted States...black, white, female, male, gay, straight, whatever! I guarantee that I am out here working to get you elected and so are many of my fellow law scool students, LGBT buddies, family, and friends! I believe in Change and hope come November 4th, enough people believe in change to elect you President of the United States. Thank you for being the agent of change our nation needs and may God's Blessings continually be in your presence!
I am a college student in Texas and I need answers. I can not afford college, there's no financial help from family, we can't get loans because their credit history, grants, scholarships, and especially financial aid packages only go so far. On top of this my brother just started at a University in northern Texas. I need help really bad, I'm desperate here, something needs to be done. It feels like everyone is ignoring us (college students) and like everyone (schools, loan companies, fin aid) is just out to profit off of our desperity. The way federal aid works right now along with the rising cost of college makes me hopeless, I've never felt so miserable. What will the Democrats do to help us? Financial Aid gives us money based on how much our parents make, so in my case they're expected to contribute $4,000. They don't have that, they have so many bills, and they live pay check to pay check (even though my dad holds a double master's degree). I can't claim independent status until I'm 23, but I know so many people whose parents haven't supported them for year, who can't support them, or who just don't want to. And when you go in to explain this to your college (UTSA in my case) they don't care, they require you to have all this proof and take forever in giving their decision. And even if you have proof they deny you. Also, my school just increased their cost of attendance from around $18,000 to $22,000 because they wanted a football team. I can never sleep at night because I'm up calculating numbers in my head, worrying about coming up with money for car insurance, groceries, car payments, the rest of my tuition. I can't even concentrate in school because of this. This isn't an isolated incident either, I know so many who go through this. Please, I need an answer...What will be done for us, we're America's future care takers and we need help. All I want to do is go to college, and be a doctor in the Air Force, getting an education shouldn't be like wining the lottery- some people get lucky and others don't.
As of right now I still own around $1,000 for the rest of this semester, I'm 3 weeks into school and don't have books because they cost too much, my financial aid hasn't arrived yet, and I have no financial aid for next semester. It feels so hopeless.
To verify your voter registration status, please contact your supervisor of elections office here: Link Go to the above LINK, click on your STATE, then click on VERIFY YOUR REGISTRATION STATUS. FOLLOW YOUR SPECIFIC STATE'S INSTRUCTIONS TO VERIFY. Please note: MISTAKES HAPPEN VERY OFTEN RESULTING IN MANY PEOPLE BEING TURNED AWAY FROM THE POLLING PLACES ON ELECTION DAY. IF YOUR REGISTRATION IS INVALID, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO VOTE ON NOVEMBER 4TH. Please take the time to check! PASS THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE ALONG TO ALL OBAMA SUPPORTERS. Thanks, Bonnie
The Fall '08 College semester has already started in many states this week. Please email to EVERYONE in your address book and ask them to do the same. IMPORTANT REMINDER: College students We must remind all college students that IF they are away from home attending college on election day, they must be registered to vote at THEIR LEGAL RESIDENCES. If they are still registered at home, THEY MUST OBTAIN an absentee ballot and mail it EARLY to their home state. A first class stamp is required. IF THEY NOW LEGALLY RESIDE IN THE STATE OF THEIR COLLEGE, they have to change their voter registration to their current address (away at college) BY FILLING OUT A NEW VOTER REGISTRATION APPLICATION and *** RENEWING THEIR DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH THEIR NEW ADDRESS. ***Driver's License ADDRESS changes, in SOME states, MAY not be necessary. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR INDIVIDUAL STATE. Many college students wait until the last minute to make the necessary changes and consequently are unable to vote. Please pass this along to all college age students. NOTE: This IMPORTANT REMINDER will be posted on most threads over the next few months. Thanks all, Bonnie

This video is being circulated "Obama in 08": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVe0kMzqN0U
It struck me while watching this video just how much passion it demonstrates. It reminded me of the passion in the late 60's and early 70's when young people changed the course of this country, when the USA's reputation world wide was bad because of a war we should not have been in, and when we expanded the internal freedoms of many of our citizens (especially women and people of color).
The music is Rap and not “Rock and Roll” but the message is the same - we need change, we need real change. We need to stop the wars and killing. We need the kinds of changes that cause us to rethink our values, expand our paradigms and open our perspectives. The "sameo sameo" old guard rhetoric will not do.
Watch and enjoy. Then help save the country by converting one person to be an Obama supporter.
McCain just released his McCain nation web site (http://www.johnmccain.com/McCainNation/). I guess it is never too late to join the online generation. The site is pathetic and does not hold a candle to what Obama has created.
I really feel McCain just does not understand todays world or technology. Obama has made use of technology, very effectively in my opinion, to join so many of us together and given us a place to vent the good, the bad and the...
First the New Yroker published an inflammatory magazine cover of Barack & Michelle Obama.
Now Vanity Fair has Published a Spoof of that cover with McCain and Cindy, it shows Cindy holding a hand full of perscription drugs.

If you have not heard Al Gore's challenge to America then follow this link to hear it:
http://www.wecansolveit.org/
We all know that Obhama supports Gore and his environmental initiatives.
Bottom line: If we can go to the moon, we can change the environment AND we can get Obama elected.
