Andreas Klamm, journalist, author, nurse (R.N.) and paramedic
This is only a very brief introducing. Since 1984 I am working as a journalist, broadcast journalist and author of several books. Since 1984 I am working for the commercial mass or main stream media and for alternative and international media in the English and German language.
In 1984 I have founded www.3mnewswire.org and the Rundfunk- und Programmarbeitsgemeinschaft fuer Film, Funk und Fernsehen (RPF) which stands for Broadcasting and Program association for film, broadcasting and television.
In 1986 in the German city of Speyer am Rhein and in the English city of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England I became the founder of IBS Independent Broadcasting Service Liberty, Radio IBS Liberty, and IBS Television Liberty which is also known as IBS Television Leeds and Radio IBS Leeds.
Already as a teenager when I have 16 years of age I have produced 8 hour live Radio programs with the beginning of private broadcasting in Germany in 1984.
Some awards and promotions I have received for some of my television productions already only two years later, in 1986, 1988, 1987, and 1989 from a Department of State for Political Eduation.
In 1996 I used to be a member of a German political party one of the biggest ones in Germany.
Only as a secondary profession which is good also in 1993 after a training of three years I became a registered nurse (R.N.) and later also a paramedic. Since 1986 I am working both as journalist, broadcast journalist and author in the United Kingdom, Germany and even in other countries.
Also a a registered nurse (R.N.) I have been working both in Germany and in the United Kingdom. Still in 2006 I have been working as an ITU nurse with the Clementine Churchill Hospital in London and with the big massive University Hospitals in Germany.

Two journalists laboring hard for democracy: The award winning, journalist brodcast journalist and author Amy Goodman from Democracy NOW! on www.democracynow.org (right) which has received in December 2008 in the city of Stockholm in Sweden the Right Livelihood Award as known as the alternative Nobel Prize and the journalist, broadcast journalist and author Andreas Klamm (left) from Liberty and Peace NOW! Human Rights Reporters on www.humanrightsreporters.wordpress.com.
Amy Goodman is the first journalist which has received the alternative Nobel Prize, the Right Livelihood Award which is given by the Right Livelihood Foundation and Mr. Jakob von Uxekuell which used to be member of the European parliament.
I do believe that Amy Goodman is one of the world best journalists, broadcast journalist and authors and a good American citizen which is laboring hard for a good democracy. The television and radio program Democracy NOW! which Amy Goodman presents with Juan Gonzalez is excellent. In December 2008 we had a chance to meet in Stockholm in Sweden. It is a great honor to meet a precious woman and journalist like Amy Goodman is one.

Sunday, September 14th, I participated in the Allston-Brighton Parade and marched for Obama-Biden '08. It was a great time and I met some really terrific people. We're all of the consensus that we HAVE to get involved in this campaign. There is just SO MUCH at stake here.
To be honest, I've always been on the sidelines of the political "system" - giving an opinion on political matters to the television set alone. But something has changed in my methodology. America is a country where too many people are taking a "time-out" when they need to be standing up and taking control of their lives, and their politics. That is why I'm getting involved.
But I'm also a Classical Singer, who has pursued an education in the arts, which has an unsteady relationship to the current culture of the United States. In pursuing my American dream of being a working musician, I have seen the value of the arts upon the hearts and minds of the people of this country. We need arts to grow in our humanity, and Barack Obama stands in solidarity with me on that opinion. The major issues for any singer or artist is health care. Since most of us don't work in the regular 9-5 jobs, almost all of us struggle with the costs of insurance. Especially when you take into consideration that most artists (singers, dancers, actors) are working in low-paying jobs like temp work, waitressing, and other occupations.
So - if I can get involved in this movement, I encourage all of you to do the same. Get in there. Send $25 a week (like me). Make the calls. Do the canvassing. We have to change this country, and like one of the supporters in the crowd said on Sunday, "It's just SO RIGHT."
Hi, everyone!!!
I simply cannot say how excited I am that We The People are getting a chance to actively contribute to this election cycle's Democratic party platform.
So I thought I would give everybody a little head start on the process to get everybody's mind thinking in the right direction. So here's how I'd like to do this:
If I just allow random posts as in the main blog, things will get so confusing so fast. So what I will do is post several replies to this main blog with specific issues in the subject line. If you are interested in contributing to the discussion on a particular subject, simply reply to that subject thread. If you wish to comment on an issue that has not been posted, simply reply to the original message with the new issue in the subject line. That way we stay organized. I will forward the information I gather to HQ for their consumption as part of the process.
Oh, and one more thing. I do intend to open this up to the main blog, but I am on summer vacation from my teaching job, so I will be actively monitoring for trolls on a frequent basis. I don't want them contaminating our discussions.
So blog away!!! I look forward to your replies.
Rick
Mustard seeds for everyone!!!
Have you read this. Obama's Kenyan Grandmother speaks out against the use of a picture of him with traditional Kenyan dress that was circulated by the Clinton Campaign as a statement that he is a muslim and a danger to the security of the US. She not only confirms that he is not a Muslim, she discloses that she is a Catholic.
Read all about it here:

There are also two polls on this page which we are currently losing.
Please take the polls and vote for Obama and then pass this on to friends and family.
Thanks,

I find it so incredibly arrogant of former President Clinton to suggest that Barack Obama would be a great VP for his wife. They have spent weeks now trying to portray Obama as incapable and inexperienced. All of the sudden he would be a great Vice President?
The Clintons are incredibly desperate to sway the minds of super-delegates. Of course they know Clinton would NEVER be picked as a VP by Obama. They also want to give this aura of superiority and inevitability again .
The Clintons, Begala, Dean, Carville, and all the other party officials don't get it. Indepedents like me have registered as Democrats JUST FOR OBAMA; so that we could vote in the Primaries in our States (mine is PA). Many of us, a great number, will never vote for Clinton, even if Obama were her VP. People like me can and will determine the outcome of this race.
This blog message is not meant for Obama. I know he will win, I am, and will fight for this, notwitstanding the hellbound plotting of the Clintons. This message is meant to speak loudly to the Democratic Party and Superdelegates. If you think you can take the will of the people and subvert it for your power games with the Clintons and then take the election in November, you have something else coming your way!
We are excited to finally see a person who fits the description of President for our minds and our hearts, and if you think you can play your power games with the Clintons, then you have something coming your way both in November, and for Congressional elections!
We will not be robbed. This is our campaign and our choice!
Barack recently wrote an open letter to the homosexual community in the USA. Here is the text:
____________________________________________________________________________________________
I'm running for President to build an America that lives up to our founding promise of equality for all – a promise that extends to our gay brothers and sisters. It's wrong to have millions of Americans living as second-class citizens in this nation. And I ask for your support in this election so that together we can bring about real change for all LGBT Americans.Equality is a moral imperative. That's why throughout my career, I have fought to eliminate discrimination against LGBT Americans. In Illinois, I co-sponsored a fully inclusive bill that prohibited discrimination on the basis of both sexual orientation and gender identity, extending protection to the workplace, housing, and places of public accommodation. In the U.S. Senate, I have co-sponsored bills that would equalize tax treatment for same-sex couples and provide benefits to domestic partners of federal employees. And as president, I will place the weight of my administration behind the enactment of the Matthew Shepard Act to outlaw hate crimes and a fully inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act to outlaw workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. As your President, I will use the bully pulpit to urge states to treat same-sex couples with full equality in their family and adoption laws. I personally believe that civil unions represent the best way to secure that equal treatment. But I also believe that the federal government should not stand in the way of states that want to decide on their own how best to pursue equality for gay and lesbian couples — whether that means a domestic partnership, a civil union, or a civil marriage. Unlike Senator Clinton, I support the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) – a position I have held since before arriving in the U.S. Senate. While some say we should repeal only part of the law, I believe we should get rid of that statute altogether. Federal law should not discriminate in any way against gay and lesbian couples, which is precisely what DOMA does. I have also called for us to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and I have worked to improve the Uniting American Families Act so we can afford same-sex couples the same rights and obligations as married couples in our immigration system. The next president must also address the HIV/AIDS epidemic. When it comes to prevention, we do not have to choose between values and science. While abstinence education should be part of any strategy, we also need to use common sense. We should have age-appropriate sex education that includes information about contraception. We should pass the JUSTICE Act to combat infection within our prison population. And we should lift the federal ban on needle exchange, which could dramatically reduce rates of infection among drug users. In addition, local governments can protect public health by distributing contraceptives. We also need a president who's willing to confront the stigma – too often tied to homophobia – that continues to surround HIV/AIDS. I confronted this stigma directly in a speech to evangelicals at Rick Warren's Saddleback Church, and will continue to speak out as president. That is where I stand on the major issues of the day. But having the right positions on the issues is only half the battle. The other half is to win broad support for those positions. And winning broad support will require stepping outside our comfort zone. If we want to repeal DOMA, repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and implement fully inclusive laws outlawing hate crimes and discrimination in the workplace, we need to bring the message of LGBT equality to skeptical audiences as well as friendly ones – and that's what I've done throughout my career. I brought this message of inclusiveness to all of America in my keynote address at the 2004 Democratic convention. I talked about the need to fight homophobia when I announced my candidacy for President, and I have been talking about LGBT equality to a number of groups during this campaign – from local LGBT activists to rural farmers to parishioners at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where Dr. Martin Luther King once preached.Just as important, I have been listening to what all Americans have to say. I will never compromise on my commitment to equal rights for all LGBT Americans. But neither will I close my ears to the voices of those who still need to be convinced. That is the work we must do to move forward together. It is difficult. It is challenging. And it is necessary.Americans are yearning for leadership that can empower us to reach for what we know is possible. I believe that we can achieve the goal of full equality for the millions of LGBT people in this country. To do that, we need leadership that can appeal to the best parts of the human spirit. Join with me, and I will provide that leadership. Together, we will achieve real equality for all Americans, gay and straight alike.***END

I may not understand fully the challenges homosexuals face in our society, but as an Opera singer, I have many friends who do.
I think it is clear that this issue is going to be a big one once we get into the actual debate and choice between the Democratic candidate and McCain and the Republicans.
No doubt, this clearly worded letter is being examined carefully by the Republicans. It is not an easy issue, and there will be unavoidable battles that will be fought in the general election that will require compromise and a strategy that brings people to the table. Being one who wants to bring parties together, we must expect that Obama will make choices that will not perfectly harmonize with what the opposing parties fully want.
Here is the difference - Clinton is a self described "fighter". So we can choose to continue to fight and push our agendas to the extreme, alienating and demonizing the other side, or we can actually work on constructive compromises.
I think Obama did something VERY IMPORTANT with this letter. He set the basic lines in the sand as to where he will stand in terms of compromise with the Republicans he will be trying to bring to the table. The issue is equality. The framework he drives focuses on the moral imperative of being fair and equal in society. It is not required that I change my beliefs on homosexuality in order to treat a homosexual fairly. This is a point people can come to the table with because it forces them to analyze and choose whether the rejection of homosexuality as sin, and the commandment to love and treat others with respect are as incompatible as some Evangelicals would want their groups to believe. Can one treat with equality homosexuals and still be faithful to his or her religious views? Is it possible to come to the belief that one can stand for equality without feeling like an "enabler" of sin? These are the real issues. As distasteful as they may be for the various parties.
Peace is appealing to all, especially to the truly religious. I think religious would understand that God loves his children, period. I think all believers can sense that if they try. This is truly an important and, in my opinion, historical start to a movement that could lift our culture to far greater respect.
I think this statement comes at a very opportune time in the campaign. It is up to us to decide: do we want a fighter who will push and shove the other side and get little done except continue the usual tug of war for another decade, or do we want someone who will actually embrace both sides and sit down to constructively build a consensus?

I saw the typical Hillary Clinton the other night on the news screaming red in the face saying "WE WILL TAKE BACK AMERICA."
Take back America from whom? When Obama says "take back America from lobbyists" I can understand that and praise it. But when Clinton says it, it just feels like she is saying that she will take back America from that segment of America (half of America in fact) who have voted Republican over the last years.
I am a registered Democrat and I feel offended by her divisive attitude. I can imagine what a Republican feels when he or she hears Hillary Clinton screaming about taking America back.
We don't need anymore taking. We need someone to bring together.
So what IS exactly going on in this race we hold so dear? Here's my take on what is happening and what we should do about it:
There is an old adage about a lion who made a kill but never got to eat it. Why? Because a pack of hyenas kept nipping at the lion, never letting it focus in one direction until they finally drove it away from the kill, which they then took for themselves.
The Obama campaign has a unifying message that transcends in its royal nature, a.k.a. the LION. The Clinton campaign represents the HYENAS. What they are doing is the old school targeting of specific demographic groups, launching background attacks on Obama on those narrow, limited fronts while maintaining a front of positivity.
I don’t know why I didn’t hear about it from David Plouffe first, but it is great.

Some of you may have heard today that 268 Iowa Republicans and nearly 70 New Hampshire Republicans have crossed party lines and declared their intentions to vote or caucus for Barack Obama. I'm sure that there are those of you who wonder why this matters, since numbers of that size would seem to pale in comparison to the overall voting population of the state. But it makes a difference, trust me. 268 Republicans may not seem like a whole lot when you consider the entire state. But consider this:
The race is expected to be "tight". If you have a precinct where the numbers are close, a few Republican converts could make the difference between getting additional delegates and not getting them.
In some cases in particularly Republican-held areas or areas where Hillary or Edwards support is more prevalent, it may mean that Obama gets above the 15% bottom line that the Iowa Democratic caucuses require for a candidate to be considered viable. This means that he could get delegates where he might not have gotten them otherwise.
In New Hampshire, every extra vote counts. While Hillary may show a lead among Democratic polls, those polls, as has been mentioned on here repeatedly) do not count Independent or crossover Republican votes, though they are free to vote in the open primary. This means that the race is undoubtedly tighter than those supposed polls show. So every vote counts!
I along with the others on this blog, welcome all of our new Republican friends. we appreciate your willingness to see past the blinders of divisive politics to vote for a new day in America.
And I look forward to going up to New Hampshire in two short weeks to try to convert a few myself!
The documents subsequently linked below should be redistributed to any Obama Supporter you know. The documents are the official rules for delegate selection and petitioning in New York State. This is vital to getting our favorite on the ticket for the primary race.

If you are not a New York Group, or a group with New York residents, I sent this to you in error.
At the end of this past Spring I made a Yahoo!Group for New York Obama supporters.http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NYforObama/
Perhaps you ask, "WHY ANOTHER GROUP!"
If you did ask that... The reason is because we have no place on any Obama group or page to store files for redistribution. I have created a PDF of the Delegate rules for New York State and stored it in the files section. Also their is no semi-static place to store important links to outside resources. This group has a links section that is very organize-able. When we post a link in a blog, it gets lost over time as new blogs post. It also has a database, and polls section which could be used to store the name and number of the senior organizer in your district, or the named and accepted delegate for each district.
All these features will make us more effective. The rest of the many features on that group will not. If you are a serious volunteer I urge you to try the group. I tried to make as many features available as I could without you needing a Yahoo! ID, but some may require you to sign in on Yahoo. If you do not have a Yahoo! account, they will let you have one for free, but you don't need to make a new email address to do that. You can just tell them during account creation that you already have an email account.
That's all for now
Ooh-Rah! for Barack!

P.S. also see http://www.geocities.com/wnymathguy/DelegateSelection/DelegateSelection.htmfor a web version of the Delegate rules.
Hello to all,
Quite some time ago I thought I would be a better Obama volunteer if I knew how Barack's position on the issues compared to the other candidates. I was swimming in information trying to do an objective comparison of our position compared to other candidates. They name their positions different so you can't line them up easily for side by side comparisons. I realized after reading some of the posts before the "Walk For Change" that I wasn't the only one with the desire to study the issues.
I completed this website about 1 day before the walk for change, but chose not to mention it because I felt the sense of urgency was leaving us. I feel the timing is right now to announce the "Issue Browser" that I made. It is a free Geocities page, I built it with information from each candidates website, but mistakes may have accidentially been introduced. Please, please feel free to tell me about any improvements or repairs that I should make to it.
I organized the issues by comparing the US Constitution as it relates to powers of the President and then SUBJECTIVELY slotted each candidates individual issue into one or more of the constitutional powers. Any input from Political Science type people would be really appreciated; I'm a math, finance, mechanical type of thinker, and I am aware their is a LOT that I don't know. I invite help from Communications type people too, as I sometimes don't get my message across clearly.
Please note that free Geocities pages are not allowed to link to anything else on the internet; links only point to files in the pages own directory. I forced in text strings of web sites so you could read them and type them in an address bar if intrested, but I can't make them linkable. I did before and Yahoo! closed down my site and deleted all the files.

Hi, folks!
It's been awhile since my last blog. Sorry about that. i've been preoccupied with the rest of my life and also with posting on the HQ blogs. I'll try to keep up more... :)
Everybody has noticed that Obama is different when he answers a question in the debates. By making his statement about those who voted for the war are now attacking him, he has shown (at least in my book) that he can deal with attacks in that forum. Hillary makes statements that in previous debates would have brought thunderous applause, yet she gets booed. Why would that be? The only reason I can think of is that the American people have endured six-plus years of soundbites such as "Stay the course", War on Terror", and the like. I wonder if we haven't finally had enough of it, and have become repulsed by it.The Mainstream Media (or as my friend Mehari likes to call it, the Corporate Media) has thrived on reporting such well-executed soundbites for years. And it is no surprise that they would call Hillary the winner for executing them. But there are other indicators that this supposedly time-tested formula isn't working. Indicators such as focus groups going out for Obama, the large numbers of crossover voters, and early number of them at that. And this doesn't even get into the fundraising data.I think that the other campaigners are using the same old playbook from the last war. Obama, with his unparalleled vision, has written a new one. Mustard seeds for everyone!Rick
Just found this on Yahoo! They have a segment called Yahoo! Answers, where celebrities, etc. can ask a question for Yahoo! browsers to answer. Here's the link:

Rick Beaule'
CNBC's John Harwood was on the Today show this morning talking about Hillary needing to overcome Barack Obama's ability to stir and light a fire under a crowd, the first time I have heard a reporter talking about her need to overcome something. And now I find this article: Link
Just more evidence that a change in attitudes is happening.....
It never ceases to amaze and delight me when I see the power of faith in action. Faith truly has the power, no matter what your averred religion (or lack of), to heal great wounds, and sustain through the greatest of sorrows. Yet I am hard put to find a more satisfying time when I have witnessed faith than over the past few days.
No, I am not talking about the Presidential commutation of the Libby sentence. That's a whole other ball of wax. I'm talking about the sound of hundreds of self-styled political pundits waiting to write Mr. Obama's political obituary being unceremoniously dumped on their collective keisters by the revelation of his fundraising prowess.
Yet there is another story here. One that lurks beneath the scenes of soundbites and shallow analysis. Even the shallow analysis reveals that Mr. Obama has scored a great victory. On her carefully manicured website even Ms. Clinton's acknowledges that much. But more is revealed when one looks beyond the tactical impact for a look at the strategic implications.
The obvious is the number of donors. That indicates a level of support that no other campaign can match. What is not-so-obvious is the average amount donated, only $125.00. There are those who would explain it away by attributing it to the high number of donors. But look closer and one sees more.
If you look at the number of donors COUPLED with the average amount, I believe it reveals an indirect demographic of the type of people donating to the Obama campaign. It is generally believed that the more well-to-do tend to donate in larger amounts. I believe that the reason Ms. Clinton has not yet revealed her number of donors is because it is much smaller, meaning that her average amount donated is higher. Previously that may have been trumpeted as a good thing. Not anymore.
Now it means that she has fewer actual donors, which translates to less ground support. It also means that her fundraising "power" will wither on the vine if she cannot find more supporters, while Mr. Obama still has vast reserves of people who have not even come close to maxing out yet. This is why MR. Clinton has made his campaigning debut earlier than she wanted him to.
So, how did this happen? The mustard seed. If you're a Christian, you've known the story since way back in Sunday School or catechism. Where faith as small as a mustard seed can create miracles.
Mr. Obama is a man of faith. Of that there can be no question or doubt. Who else but a faithful man would press on with his message when the aura and mantle of inevitability was all but placed upon someone else's brow? Who else but a faithful man would maintain his campaign of faith. hope, and chrity when even some of those who love him were beggin him to use the same tactics as his opponents by "taking the gloves off"?
We are the living manifestation and reward of his unyielding faith. We are the proof and the truth that his faith and vision was not misplaced or misguided. And it is now up to us to plant seeds of our own, in the faith that they, too, will grow, be fruitful, and multiply.
There is a miracle happening here. Do you believe?
