Cable news and right wing blogs are swarming with the revisionist history on the New Deal. Arm yourself against lies, spin and propaganda by reading info from a number of sources.
Here down a article about this topic. [Media Matters is a progressive media watchdog and fact checking organization which has received accolades from numerous sources (except the right wing media which often gets debunked by Media Matters).]
The link to digg it and for article: Conservatives Cherry-Pick 1930s Unemployment Figures
Summary: Columnists Mona Charen and George Will continued a trend among conservative media of responding to comparisons between the current economic situation and that of the 1930s and between Barack Obama and FDR by attacking the New Deal. In separate columns, both Charen and Will cherry-picked unemployment figures to assert that the New Deal did not reduce unemployment. But historians and progressive economists have noted that unemployment fell every year of the New Deal except during the 1937-38 recession; further, Nobel-laureate Paul Krugman has said it was a reversal of New Deal policies, not a continuance of them, that contributed to rising unemployment in 1937 and 1938.

You can Digg it: My_way to say GOODBYE to neocons, Bush and Cheney!
A picture from me to say goodbye from most bad president of US and all neocons. We can only hope many people will long enough remember. Bush had a lot bad gifts for the change! Let's take care the poor and normal people will not have to pay now too much after the rich made profit in good time! And what's with impeachment now?! What's with hidden knowledge of Sept. 11 2001?[ Maybe an explanation of picture: it's made like an "egg laying wool milk sow" a metaphorical-idiomatic term in Germany]
Yeah, and here you can see something new about neocons were bringing to us - for me to say: don't forgive Bush and neocons and there is still a lot to work of. We will and can do this too - Yes we can!I got now message too like "If anybody can clean up the mess bush left, it's President Obama." - Yes and Obama likes people helping still to do the work - help him! We were a big and strong movement and so people got knowledge back how strong people can be together! Whistleblower: Bush's NSA spied on EVERYONE (already 4255 Diggs) The NSA had access to ALL YOUR COMMUNICATIONS, regardless of who you were or whether or not you were communicating internationally.
Here we go again North against the South!!! Yep believe it or not all of the Senators that voted against loaning the big three any money to help them get past this recesssion, (which the BANKS started) are all from states from the south. When I look at these Senators they remind me of the plantation owners that believed in slavery and if we don't watch out we will be right back there again or we might as well be. Your wages will start droping and droping. All the Republicans are doing is trying to break the unions and if they do were all in trouble. The company owners will start treating people more and more like dogs. And it's already taking place all over the country in sweat shops where these people hire illegals to do the work. These Senators are not stupid they are getting all kinds of kick backs from the foriegn auto dealers that have plants in there states. This just another straw on the camels back. Bush and his people are slowly taking every penny they can. The honest people can't take anymore people all across our country are starting to eat less and less. They keep trying to tell us that we have to start working in the service sector or in the medical field but what they are not telling you is that those fields are not necessary people won't go out to eat because they won't have the money and they will just start staying home instead of going to the doctor. They are treating us like we are dum and the worst part is we are falling for it. Sometimes when i'm watch these news casters talk I wonder If they even know what they are talking about do they even know what the service sector is and does it even pay enough to take care of your family. And don't let them fool you the people that work in these shops don't make no where near 70 dollars an hour thats a bunch of crap. Well I hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

The change - Obama Acceptance Speech - Change is come to America
[But of course - it's just beginning with the change, there is a lot to do. Please stay in touch, however we do that, through these groups or some other way. ]
to all of you, for all that you have done for Barack and Joe. This is it...the day we have been working and waiting for. It all comes down to this...my heart is racing, my stomach is doing cartwheels, and i have been on the phone today with family and friends and fellow supporters to make sure everyone has a ride to the polls. i talked with my neighbors and people in my neighborhood, to make sure everyone could get to their polling place.
i have never been so proud to be an American....this country is coming together and unifying in the name of change and it fills me with such hope, i can hardly speak the words.
tonight, i will be attending an Election Night party with my Brother and Sister. we have been on the phone today, filled with excitement and, i have to admit, my nerves are all over the place. i waited up to see the results that came in last night from NH and i saw that as a sign of things to come.
this country and this world will be a better place when Barack and Joe win tonight. i know that nothing is final until all the votes are counted, but i have HOPE! i have so much hope, that my cup is running over!
what a glorious and historic day this is...and we are all a part of it.
Blessings to you all, today and everyday.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A poll out Thursday from American Research Group shows Barack Obama with an 8% lead over John McCain in West Virginia. It's the first poll to show a lead for Obama in the Mountain State.
The poll of 600 likely voters took place from 10/4 to 10/8 and has a margin of error of 4%. Previous polls taken last month showed the Republican McCain with a 4 to 5% lead over Obama in West Virginia.
i drove to Portsmouth to see him speak and he did a fantastic job. i took my teenage daughter with me and she cheered just as loud as i did. she said she wished she was old enough to vote for Barack. i told her to take this moment with her and let it inspire her to do good things in her life. and, i told her, you will be able to vote in the next presidential election when we will be voting for 4 more years of Barack in office!!! it was a memorable night that my daughter and i will never forget.
A new poll shows Obama leading McCain by 8 points in WV. WV might be finally starting to see the light.... Or maybe they just all see that Sarah Palin is a SCARY woman, and McCain a flip-flopping liar!
Regardless, this is VERY encouraging news, though I'm not ready to declare WV for Obama just yet, it's nice to see the state starting to wise up!

What You See Is What You See and What You Hear, Maybe?
What struck me this morning as I was watching Senator Barack Obama speaking to a huge crowd in Dayton, Ohio is the tenor that this presidential campaign has taken as of late.
Recently individuals attending Sarah Palin or John McCain events have been shouting out quite hateful and venomous remarks. I listened this morning on several television programs where various reporters have questioned whether the speaker is obligated to denounce this behavior as it occurs even though statements have been issued by the McCain campaign deploring such comments. The reasoning used by the McCain representatives repeatedly has been, “the candidate cannot control the folks in the audience. The speaker cannot hear these remarks from the podium.” Now, while I was listening to Senator Obama this morning, sure enough someone yelled something from the audience. Senator Obama not only heard but engaged in conversation with the individual(s). There apparently was a problem with the sound system.
This reminded me of the countless times I had heard Senator Obama respond to individuals shouting out by saying, “I love you back!” I have heard Senator Obama, Senator Clinton, Senator Biden and many others engage in back and forth conversations with “individuals” shouting out from the audience. Anyone who has attended a concert, other than classical, has heard individuals shout out requests oftentimes at the behest of the performer. And, of course, we will never forget the nearly career ending melt down of Michael Richards (Seinfeld) who was responding to “individual(s) shouting from the audience.
It is curious to me that in general people who are speaking before very large audiences are able to hear individuals shout out from the audience yet Senator McCain and Governor Palin are not able to. Furthermore, it really bothered me that once the comments were made both Republican candidates paused their remarks, seemingly in response to the yelled comments, and smiled before going on. Is this is not giving approval or do my eyes deceive me?
If what I see is what I get, I see two candidates, Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin, who either encourage despicable comments from constituents at their events and or make no move to denounce these comments as they are being made.
this is an exerpt from an article regarding McCain's work with council of world freedom. the link to the entire article is at the bottom.
Democratic strategist Paul Begala lit the fire when, during an appearance on Meet the Press, he warned that this relatively obscure detail from McCain's past could draw him into a guilt-by-association game he was bound to regret.
"John McCain sat on the board of...the U.S. Council for World Freedom," said Begala, "The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981 when McCain was on the board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League - the parent organization - which ADL said 'has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites.'"
But McCain's involvement in the U.S. Council for World Freedom, which extended from 1981 through, possibly, 1986 is significant -- not merely because it ties him to unsavory characters but because it firmly associates him with a foreign policy that was, at the time and still, controversial.
"I didn't know that [McCain had] served on the board," said Shannon O'NeilDouglas Dillon Fellow for Latin American Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. "It is a little bit surprising to me. But all of those organizations did come from the Republican side mostly. Often the people were tied to the military and they saw the world in black and white terms... My impression is [McCain] still sees the world in back and white."
The USCWF was founded in Phoenix, Arizona in November 1981 as an offshoot of the World Anti-Communist League. The group was, from the onset, saddled with the disreputable reputation of its parent group. The WACL had ties to ultra-right figures and Latin American death squads. Roger Pearson, the chairman of the WACL, was expelled from the group in 1980 under allegations that he was a member of a neo-Nazi organization.

Tomorrow is your last chance to get friends, family members, Obama supporters, and yourself to register to vote. Call people you suspect may have forgotten the deadline. Make arrangements to get them to the office to vote. In KY you can register at the DMV or you can register at voter registration. Many states have early voting including Kentucky so You may be allowed to register to vote and vote the same day. Get it out of the way what ever state you are in, so that Nov. 4th you will be free to help out the campaign, through an "I voted party" or just celebrate with family and friends.
It is time for a change. We need all to Register to vote!!!
P.S. Don't just depend on mailing it! Go in person if you can!!
CHECK IT OUT EVERYONE, J. J. MCCAIN IS IN WASHINGTON AND LIKE CAPT. AMERICA IS READY TO SAVE THE DAY. RIDING IN ON HIS SILVER JET AND HIS TRILLION DOLLAR WIFE AT HIS SIDE. LOOK OUT EVERYONE, STEP ASIDE LET MCCAIN THROUGH SO HE CAN DONATE HIS 2 CENTS AND SAVE THE UNITED STATES FROM FALLING APART.
WHAT A JOKE HUH!!! THEY FIGURED IT OUT THAT THE BAIL OUT MONEY AVERAGES OUT TO BE ROUGHLY $2300.00 DOLLARS PER PERSON. IT IS MY PERSONAL OPION THAT WE SHOULD GIVE THIS MONEY TO THE PEOPLE WHO DESERVE IT. PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME SO WE CAN PAY OUR RENT PAYMENTS WE SHOULD START HANDING OUT THIS MONEY FROM THE BOTTOM UP NOT THE TOP DOWN. AT LEAST WITH MY IDEA ALOT MORE PEOPLE WILL GET HELP. IF WE DO IT BUSH'S WAY THE ONLY ONE WHO WILL GET HELP WILL BE THE RICH.
GO BARACK OBAMA AND JOE BIDEN!!!! YES WE CAN!!!!!
I don't know how long it going to take us to realize that we are in a real fight. Barack Obama and Joe Biden are going to have to quit playing this nice guy game because everytime barack tries to do something nice, like today Obama calling John Mccain and offering to do a joint interview about the bail out bill. Well I hope we learned our lessons because before Obama could even hang up the phone Mccain was already planing a press conference and telling the news reporters that he came up with the idea FIRST and you know our reporters aren't smart enough to figure out that Mccain couldn't have came up with that all by himselve! It made Mccain look like he was going to go to washigton and rescue it. That he was going to take charge AND SAVE AMERICA. Obama better stop doing these things or were in trouble.
all I know IS Obama better not let him off the the hook with the debates because we do need a president that can walk and chew gum at the same time. We do need a president that can multitask The Republicans ought to be ashamed of themselves scareing the American public so bad by saying things like your going to loose your retirement and your car and you'll never get credit again hell between Bush and Mccain you'd think the world was comeing to an end.
It's time to get tough. Its time to to start asking the questions that know one wants to here. Like who is sarah Palin and can she really run our country.
I think this better be a wake up call. Although i do think the country is in bad shape, I don't think it is so bad that the whole world has to stop. Wev'e got plenty of people in washington to take care of this problem. we didn't elect them because there all stupid if the senators are needed to vote they can have the vote on monday this WAY i get my debate and the congress gets a few more days to think about this bail out.
GO OBAMA AND BIDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. WHERE ARE THE CLINTONS? I THINK THE CLINTONS COULD BE DOING FAR MORE THEN THEY ARE IN FACT I THINK THEY ARE STILL HOLDING A GRUDGE. I LISTEN TO BILL CLINTON THE OTHER DAY AND ALL HE DID IS PRAISE SARAH PALIN. I'M SORRY BUT I REALLY FEEL THIS WAY I THINK THE CLINTONS COULD BE MAKING MUCH MORE NOISE.
If you don't already do it, you really should be checking out the Anchorage Daily News site regularly, for local Palin news, editorials and op-eds, and its excellent Alaska Politics blog (special bonus Ted Stevens coverage there). Today, for example, the paper hits Palin hard in an editorial for abdicating to the McCain campaign on Troopergate.
And here's a brand-new gem on a stunning, overlooked McCain gaffe from David Hulen at the Alaska Politics blog:
Candidates spend a lot of time talking, and they all misspeak sometimes. But did anyone else notice this, from Wednesday's much-covered McCain-Palin Town Hall event in Grand Rapids, Mich., where Palin answered questions from people in the audience? McCain said this as he's talking up Palin's foreign policy/national security credentials: "I also know, if I might remind you, that she is commander of the Alaska National Guard. In fact, you may know that on Sept. 11 a large contingent of the Alaska Guard deployed to Iraq and her son happened to be one of them. So I think she understands our national security challenges..."The ceremony Palin attended at Fort Wainwright last week didn't involve the Alaska National Guard. Palin's son is in the Army, and his unit - 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division - deployed to Iraq. The idea of McCain (or Palin, for that matter) having their finger on the button, completely terrifies me......

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- United Mine Workers of America President Cecil Roberts plans to hold a press conference in Charleston Monday to discuss what he describes as "attempts by a film crew hired by the National Rifle Association to get miners to distort the record of Barack Obama on guns and the 2nd amendment."
“Our members were approached on company property by this film crew and were peppered with questions regarding Sen. Obama’s positions on guns and the 2nd Amendment,” Cecil Roberts said in a press release issued Saturday. “We’re going to talk about that, because it marks a return of the gutter politics of the past by those of the say-anything, do-anything crowd who believe they can continue to use wedge issues to divide West Virginians. They think we’re not smart enough to figure out what they’re doing.”
Coal miners from the Blacksville #2 mine in northern West Virginia will accompany Roberts at the press conference in Charleston.
this is truly a disturbing and manipulative attack against Barack. I was truly disgusted to hear of this and I am thankful that the President of the UMWA is holding a press conference to expose the despicable acts of the N.R.A.
i was attending funeral services this weekend for my aunt, who lost her battle with cancer. while i was parked and inside the church, someone actually pulled my obama sticker off my car. we returned to our vehicles and were leaving for the cemetery. i was opening my trunk to put some of my sister's things inside (she was staying with me), and i noticed it was gone. it was there when we arrived, because i unloaded food for the church when we got there and it was still on. it made me angry to think that i was inside, mourning with my family and saying our final goodbyes to my aunt and this happened.
it is so sad how low people will stoop. and they had to have known that there were funeral services going on, because the hearse was parked right ahead of me.
how can people be so ignorant and mean?

Stop this; save money, lives and nature - bring jobs back, restore the future! Yes we must fight, but for new energies and our future, to get Obama elected!
