You all did it!
I moved to Carmel from Baton Rouge, LA, and it was there that I wanted to hear more of Sen. Obama's plans to run for the chief executive position. I was going to support Sen. Clinton. As I researched Sen. Obama's position on major issues, and heard him speak out with increasing frequency, it became clear that I was feeling him.
In Jan. 08 my family and I decided to get involved here in Hamilton County and had no clue that this was the heart of Republican territory. Over the past year I became very busy on my job and could not spare a moment to give to the campagin. Thanks to Diane Smart's help from the Chicago ofc. who guided me through a few events. Then came Lily West, whom I consider one of the best raw political talents I ever laid my eyes on (and I have been in this game since the early 1980s) in many cities. And the sweet Beatina Theapold, whom held it all together here in Hamilton County as the state needed Lily in Indy. Below is a tally of how we did:

In light of the massive economic and financial failures of AIG, Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and many others, it's time we propose some solutions beyond merely regulating the financial industry.
I propose that it's time we make lemonade from the lemons with which this administration and their party has left us. We the American taxpayer should demand that any Federal bailout of any private or public industries be tied to future revenues, with interest payments to be made to a new Federal fund. This new fund would be used to underwrite a new National Health Care and Education initiative.
This is not as radical as it sounds. Oil companies give dividends to Alaskans for oil revenue and many private companies share profits with their employees through 401Ks. It is time for American workers to unite and demand that our tax dollars be put to use for the health and well being of every American.
The formation of such a fund would accomplish two major goals: It would closely align the interests of private industry with the American people and, not unlike Social Security, will help to fulfill America's social contract with the taxpayers who have become the prime stakeholders of these failed enterprises.
It is time to send a clear message that our American tax dollars not be used to underwrite the executive compensations of CEO's who have mismanaged these enterprises.
It is time for all Americans to realize that we are, indeed, all in this together and that the success and failure of the American economy is tied to the health and well being of its workers.
I urge you all to lobby congress and our presidential candidates for such a fund.
It is time to prepare for a better future for all Americans.

I think that America deserves an honest,simple,straight-forward and humble president. America has been misled by the crooked politics of hit or miss which encourage those running for office, especially presidential, to say anything to make a day in campaigns. I am sure that the democratic party, and the Obama campaign is not guilty of this crime , but the republican party and John McCain and sarah palin are. I am dead sure of that.
However, Senator Obama and his team need to tell America the simple things, and that process starts with the questions about the honesty and integrity of all persons seeking the highest office in the land. To do that , and to move the tide of the current election campaign forward we need new advertisements which deal only with the truth. For instance, how is it that America is allowing the Republican party and John McCain to tell brazen lies about the record of Senator Obama and the democratic party? Why is it that the Obama campaign is not fighting back the stupid misinformation on our positions given all these ample evidences of cheating and lying by John McCain and now Sarah Palin? They need to be called on these lies, and America must warned that if leaders are willing to lie to get into office they will lie to stay there.
Here is how I would do it.
An ad on TV (sort of):
America you deserve the best leadership to change the tone of your national discourse and debates, to change the economic fortunes of the nation, to solve the energy and healthcare and other problems facing us all. You need clear, temperate and sobre leadership which tells you the truth and not lie to you. In the past 8 years we were lied to about the war in iraq, which has cost us several trillions of dollars and several thousands of our precious blood. Can you trust John McCain to tell you the truth about important national decisions, in presidential office, when he can lie to you about Senator Obama in a political campaign to win the presidency? John McCain and George Bush got us into an unjustified war on the back of lies and distorted intelligence , he has not reformed his behavior, why should we think he can tell us the truth in future? America you need the truth from your leadership. McCain is not the change agent he claims to be . He is offering you lies for the same old Bush presidency.
See where I am getting with this. Let us discuss more , be cause I think we can win or lose on the back of not telling the truth which the American people already know. At this juncture, they ned to be reminded of these subtle truths, and warned of the subtle lies without us getting abrasive or brash about it. Truth will help us . Our ticket is clean and will succeed.

Obama '08.........!
I have given this a great deal of thought and can only come up with a few reasonable
answers. Goodness knows that the New Yorker is not known for bowing down to the right.
They claim they are using satire. With friends like this, who needs enemies?
The right or the very conservative base is very afraid of Barack Obama. I asked myself, why?
Some of it is nonsense such as propoganda being fueled to talking pundits. Why do they do
this? Then it hit me. Change. Most is about change as was JFK's message. The radical right
does not want change in their tax codes, or their greediness infringed upon. It does not
matter if half of the country is sitting on the sidelines waiting for a bit of a break from somewhere,
anything o help them would be a change and change is their enemy. They use a few talking
points as they always have regarding reproductive rights to fear tactics to alternative lifestyles
to poke at the independents or disillusioned republicans and even some conservative democrats.
Barack is a different type of candidate in many ways other than his multiracial genes. This
candidate is really scary to them. His whole campaign is about change. What kind of change they say?
Change our way of life? This is ignorance pure and simple. They can't go after his military record
because he was a bit young to have fought in any war. They can't go after his lack of vision as
he has one. They can't go after his lack of morals. The man has two children, a wife and long
standing as a community organizer and devoted to this faith. Scarier than anything is the
amount of attention he gets from hundreds of thousands of people. They flock to see his
elequent speaking skills. They can't say he is boring, he inspires people. He fights back as well.
They are absolutely terrified of this quick thinking constituional lawyer, who had declared a faith
in God and his service to the community is service the same, just not in uniform.
Change scares some older people. They get really afraid of people changing things because they
have spent a lifetime trying to get where they are and will do anything to stop this change. To
Devil with the less fortunate. Not their problem. Many are angry about their own failed marriages,
despair with their own children and lives that have been disfunctional in many ways for many
reasons. Basically, they can't think like a liberal or any person who is not so much fiscally
all about self. It is not in them and that is their downfall but it is also hard for people like Barack
and his base supporters. The right will start making up lies like his religion, scaring people and letting
them eat on their own fears. They bring up an era they can relate to, the Jim Crow era and try to
bring bigotry back into the game. They make it hard for our candidate as he is as much white as
black and just being American is not good enough. He is accused of talking white or flip flopping.
They can't talk on the issues because they lose period on the issues.
They have to play out all the drama of an animated character that is so scary no true American
would want to vote for this man and his family. Cable news turns into Tabloid TV and even the
left are somewhat disillusioned because they expect a perfect candidate to be all things to all
people and this is impossible. He is not the Messiah and they are young and they have not paid attention to his
speeches or they would know he has not flip flopped. He mentions learning another language
in school as to be as equal as some of the other countries and people go in a tizzy? Why I ask?
Because...maybe some of those people who claim to be right are too lazy to try and learn anything. Maybe one of
those other minority people will do better than they. There is absolutely nothing pretty about
this kind of thinking. We are in the 21st Century. We are supposed to be a symbol of proggesion
and we are supposed to be compassionate. I think America has been dumbed down for the last
8 years and gotten so used to being told instead of thinking or searching for themselves. They
are used to bad or no leadership from anywhere. Millions of people want things their way and
they want it now. How absolutely selfish, uncaring and ignorant? So after all of my thoughts
of the hostility Senator Barack Obama has faced, more than probably anyone other than Dr. King
and even from his own race, in some instances. The only thing I can come up with is Greed,
Money, ignorance, bigotry and fear of change.
Well listen up America. Change is coming. With all of our hard work, the change will be from
one candidate named Barack Obama. God forbid, John Mccain take the white house but change
is coming. For the die hard segragationalists, change came. For the terrified men who did not
want women to have the right to vote, change came. For the die hard republicans of the Hoover
depression, and the rich trying to hang on to their last dollar, change came.
We can take do this. Yes we can but we must do everything we can to stop the smears and the
lies and the back biting and learn to be reliant on self and good leadership from God in Heaven
to make sure we can build this country up from a country that has somehow lost it's way and is
afraid to change for the better.
We just need the right kind of change and for all the people.
Help me, help Barack Obama trod throught this mess and bring some pride and leadership back
into a nation so gripped with fear, they will do anything to stay bound in their own
imaginations.

I am from Indiana and I know there is some buzz about Senator Bayh as a possible VP. I really liked him but he lost some of my respect when he campaigned all over the state with Hillary.
I can't believe Barack would pick her after all the negative things she has said about him
I personally like Senator Biden. I know he is a Washington insider, but he speaks his mind and does not tend to pander.
He has a lot of Foreign Affairs experience which Barack needs and I think he would counter attack anything McCain decides to throw out there!

My name is Betsy Hamlett and I am the Indiana State Coordinator for an event this September in Washington D.C.
On September 13, 2008 in DC, the group Diversity4Obama is leading a march from the Freedom Plaza to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to show the world that Americans from all walks of life support Barack Obama.
Our incredible turnout of the grassroots effort here in Indiana during the primary season tells me we can give a great showing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial this fall!
The coordinators of this event are working to put in place a website with more information. We will in the coming weeks have information on housing/hotel options and travel options. We will also need help promoting this event in your own communities and certainly we'll need volunteers during the walk! I will be sending out updates as we have them.

Wednesday, I became so upset with Hillary , that I decided to set a goal to collect money for Barack so that he will be able to counter all of her negative ads before the Kentucky and West Virginia primaries.
She has not only played the “race card” but has implied that “white working class men”, will not vote for Barack. If you know anything at all about Kentucky or West Virginia, you know that was thrown out there to both states as “red meat”.
