Sarah's Economic Recovery House Meeting was held Saturday in Bamberg, SC. People who signed up for the meeting included a couple from Michigan who was visiting their daughter in Eutawville, SC, and two wonderful ladies from Santee and Vance. Others live in Bamberg. It was an extremely productive meeting.
All patricipants were very engaging and highly supportive of President Obama's Economic Stimulus Plan. Each one of them had a story of their own, or they knew of a negative economic situation in someone's else's life. Additionally, two sharp, and informed ladies who live in rural areas want to form a grassroots group for "Organizing for America."
The participants of the meeting will contact their state's congressional representatives demanding support for the Recovery plan. Great results!
I was among those who believe that no matter the excruciating Democratic Party primaries, we shall all come back and share our commonality rather than difference for the sake of the country; and it is indeed a wonderful news that finally the emergence of this news about Bill and Obama conclusively solidified my inclinations and convictions on better days ahead.
The Democratic Party has gone through so many challenges and nevertheless found the way of looking forward, remaining positive and objective and to me this is essentially the hallmark of the kind of party and leaders you will advocate for as necesary to lead the country.
Bill and Obama!

God bless USA
God bless Obama & Biden
Barack has an eye for quality... And this is what we take away from tonight's very powerful speech by Michelle Robinson Obama. I sat on my couch with all my children nearby, tears streaming down my cheeks, happy, proud and elated as the beautiful Michelle introduced herself -again- to the American people. Truly, it is a blessing to be a part of this moment in our nation's history.
The Obama family has done an outstanding job ire-igniting the passion of the American ideals that have been treaded upon during these torturous Bush-Cheney years. We are a nation that are more than capable of putting in a little elbow grease to re-invent this nation as it should be. We have a wonderful opportunity to reject the status quo and truly live as one nation, one people. Yes we CAN!!
I am just so full of joy and pride tonight. Bless you Michelle and I can't say it any better than Stevie did when he penned his famous hit so many years ago..."Isn't she lovely."
I just hosted a house meeting to organize people in my community to get out and seek people that are not registered to vote or who are undecided if they are voting for Senator Obama. The meeting was awesome. There were 8 of us in attendance. I am hoping that I can get more people to get involved and invite people to volunteer just a small portion of their time to the campaign. I have printed a neighbor list and I am going to contact 10 people in the next 2 weeks in my neighborhood to ask for their support. I live in the Harlem/Grovetown area. If 10 more people can do this and ask others we can make a difference in Georgia in November. There are so may people out there who aren't registered. It may be your neighbor. I will set up another meeting in 2 weeks. I met some great people today and I am really motivated to keep the momentum going. I'm asking people if they are registered to vote and encourage them to vote. I have voter registration forms and I pumped.
Thanks
It is amazing to me that this entire democratic race has been focused on race and gender. The two main things that many people are saying should not dictate who becomes President. I mean, if someone were being hired for a job simply because they are a woman or black, we would soon hear of a lawsuit with the company. Barack Obama has never based his political run on race. However, he has had to defend his race at every turn. Once again, if this attack on his race were happening in the workplace, wouldn't there be a suit? And by the way, this IS his workplace. Hmmm? Now, HRC on the other hand, has constantly rammed in the minds of millions of voters that she and Barack Obama are breaking barriers by possibly being the first female or African-American President of the United States. She is constantly riding the gender wave, and yet, she wants to be treated equal? Strange to me. I am a woman and I believe that HRC is a feminist; something we do NOT need as President of the United States. Barack Obama has held an upstanding campaign all the way. No matter how many insults and racist comments were thrown his way by the "Clinton Machine".
On another note, it's very ironic how this year, when we have a black man running for office, is so concerned about race. I mean, last night I just shook my head at the fact that when Clinton won West Virginia, a state that is majority white, it was looked at as a clear cut victory for her and "Barack Obama might want to worry" was one of the headlines. Yet, when he won SC and NC by huge margins, the only thing said about that was, "Well, the majority of voters were black so..." Is the black vote diminished here? I just do not understand this country, that rests and abides on liberty and justice for ALL. The people of West Virginia and other predominately white states, what are you saying to the world? Despite the fact that Barack Obama is the best candidate this nation has seen in some time, you would rather vote for more of the same old politics which you complain about soooo much, just because she is white? What type of signal are we sending to the WORLD? Not to mention our children? African-Americans have supported the Democratic candidates of the past based on the fact that we believe in the democratic party. But now that there is an African-American candidate, who is obviously going to be the nominee, we are divided? What type of America is that?
On countless occassions, Barack Obama has stated that he wants to make this a "more perfect union". Union, together, not divided. While John Mccain is traveling the country making himself known to countless undecideds, we are fighting a senseless battle in the primaries. America needs to prove to the world that she is in fact, truly ready for change. Are you with me?
Barack Obama's speech was the singularly most powerful discussion of race and its role in the birth of our nation that I have ever heard. There were tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat as he beared his soul and shared with Americans how we are all touched by the slave and the slaveowner.
No worthier man has EVER pursued the presidency of the United States of America -- I know that there will be cynics who suggest that it was the crafty handiwork of a gifted and brilliant orator/politician. But you can't bottle and sale the tale of Barack Obama. He is a man of true authenticity. Call me crazy, call me an idealist, hell call me gullible, but I have been praying for Senator Obama and his family as fervently as I pray for my own.
Last night I prayed that he would not do the politically expedient thing and throw his pastor and spiritual mentor under the bus. I prayed that he would not be a typical politician.
But I woke in a panic with a sinking pit where my stomach had been when I realized I had been dreaming about CNN. In the dream, the pundits said Obama rejected his pastor and fellow congregants at Trinity --- I was heartsick. I quickly said a prayer. I prayed that Obama would instead use his moment of crisis as an opportunity to shed light on the issue of race. I wanted him to discuss the matter in a real way that would value all the hues that are America. And my prayers were answered -- as God is wont to do -- sevenfold. I could not have been more proud today, a bounce in my step and a smile on my face as I read and listened to the speech throughout the day. Obama went further and was far more ambitious than I could have ever dreamed.
So, riders, let's be very clear and understand what Obama was talking about today. We have more things that unite us than that artificial things that divide us. History will bear witness here because think about how the wealthy southern landowners frequently pitted poor whites against their even poorer black counterparts in the horrible system of peonage that existed immediately after the Civil War -- when, in reality , the lack of social advancement of poor white families were intricately tied to the lack of opportunities afforded their darker neighbors.
We need to bridge the artificial chasms between us and do something about improving educational opportunities for all children. We need to address the harsh economic realities for many poor Americans and their even poorer counterparts throughout the globe. Let us take a look at health care and consider how we can provide basic health services to every American. Let's move beyond the rhetoric the divides us. Let's reject the status quo that fooled poor southerners into despising their darker brothers and sisters...Let us embrace the challenge that our future POTUS has laid out.
It is our only hope for establishing the ideal, more perfect union.

Hey Middle Georgia and South Georgia you "blue dog" will be looking out for you.
Take care and God bless you all
The Senator from the State of New York hopes must be have been dashed on hearing news. She wasn’t a shoe in to be the party's foreseeable nominee in 2008. The Obama Nation has raised the Senator Barack $25 Million Dollars, from over 100,000 men and women from around this great nation we call America.
Donations came from 100,000 donors, the campaign said and this was welcome news for your very own Blue Dog Dem. This news, this confirmation that “Obama, a so-called political tenderfoot according to the likes of Cornell West, Tavis Smiley and Micheal Eric Dyson would not be able to generate the funds; needed to be taken as a serious presidential contender. Because of his race, name and the fact that African American do not view him, as black and whites do not taken him very seriously all.
I got four words for you Cornell West, Tavis Smiley and Micheal Eric Dyson
1) Twenty
2) Five
3) Million
4) Dollars
Senator Obama has served just a little over two years in the United States Senate and has emerged as powerful as The University of Florida did during the NCAA national championship game this past weekend. Yes, a new force in presidential politics has emerged during this years bid for the Whitehouse; this force has reinforced its status a real player on this field.
The interesting position that I point out is had Senator Obama decided to take money from PAC’s (Political Action Committee’s and Lobbyist) he would have no doubt raised well over $40 million by now. Being a Blue Dog, a moderate I say take the money, but a promise is a promise and the Senator gave us his word that he won’t take money from those types of groups.
But with that said the fact that a “political tenderfoot” can put $25 million on the books on an opponent that is a senior senator and who has the help of one of the best fundraisers the Democratic Party has seen in recent years says a lot about this man called Obama.
Now take a look at the former mayor of the New York City who seems to only have raised $15 million himself; so Senator Obama if you think about Obama almost out raised one person who has been running for President for over six years now and Senator Obama has out raised a former mayor New York mayor.
People as my old football coach would say we are dealing with B-Team opponents on a Varsity Field. It’s time to rack up some more points before half time. Therefore, what do you say, next month send in another $20 check, whatever you can God will bless you for this worthy cause.

I think this is great advice in theory and I'd love to have a president that told me exactly what he/she thought but I'm not sure it is realistic. Any politician must come to the realization that their lives will now be filled with 3 necessary evils:
Politicians that ignore those 3 things have a wide variety of titles and none of them are President.
