I opposed the economic stimulus bill because the economic stimulus bill will do very little for the economy. The American people live in a consumption based economy. I support a tax cut of the capital gains tax. Middle-class and low-income tax breaks will boost the economy and cause the economy to get better. Smaller government creates jobs. Big government eliminates jobs and causes a slowdown in the economy. Raising taxes for working families is not patriotism. An economic stimulus bill is going to do very little for the economy because the American people live in a capitalism based economy. Spending close to a trillion dollars of government funding will not build a stronger economy. I opposed the economic stimulus bill because it is too high. I support some provisions in the economic stimulus bill that were important to the economy. Some provisions should have been taken out of the economic stimulus bill. Democrats should have included seventeen billion dollars of emergency funding for federal work-study programs in 2009. I am undecided on the four hundred and ten billion dollar federal budget for 2010. I need more information about the 2009 federal budget. I do not support universal healthcare, big government and socialism in 2010 federal budget. I support a thirty-two billion dollar balance budget for education appropriations in 2010. I support an eighty-five million dollar balance budget for health and human services in 2010. I oppose the income tax hike in Illinois. Students are facing hardship for unaffordable textbook costs. Textbooks costs are too high for students that have financial aid. It is possible that Chicago Transit Authority is going to provide another doomsday for mass transit riders. Chicago Transit Authority is currently witnessing a budget shortfall for mass transit. The Chicago Transit Authority plans to raise fares to three dollars and twenty-five cents.
Well I did it! For the first time since I started voting (many, many
elections ago), I voted early! I voted at the City Clerk's Office
(69 West Washington). If you have ever been inside of a Federal
Building in Chicago - you know that the buildings are large and
intimidating! There must have been 200 to 300 people standing
in line and the line was getting longer by the seconds. I thought
to myself I must be "NUTS" to stand at the end of this endless
line. I could just wait and VOTE ON NOVEMBER 4TH from the
comfort of my apartemnt building. That's right, you heard me,
I could have voted without leaving the comfort and warmth of
my building (the temperature outside was 32 degrees). I had only
been in the line for a few moments when a young man came up
to me and asked me to follow him. The young man led me and
the seven or eight people standing behind me, around the corner
to a huge room. The huge room was filled with new TOUCH SCREEN
VOTING MACHINES with a chair in front of each machine. Lots of
really friendly, helpful assistants everywhere. I was "in and out"
in fifteen minutes! WOW! Did that young man know that I was
experiencing serious back and knee pain (chronic osteo-arthritis),
as I stood in line? Maybe the young man looked at the expression
on my face, that may have been crying out, "Can't this line move
any faster - I'm in PAIN here?" At any rate, I ended up having the
BEST VOTER EXPERIENCE I have ever had. I really LOVED the TOUCH
SCREEN VOTING MACHINES and the fact that I got sit down to VOTE!
Now, since I have already VOTED, I'll be able to attend THE ELECTION
NIGHT RALLY FOR BARACK OBAMA in GRANT PARK!
Wishing you all a GREAT VOTING EXPERIENCE! VOTE EARLY!
YES, WE CAN and YES, WE WILL!!!
LOVE & PEACE!

As far as I am concerned, Barack Obama is the ONLY CHOICE for
President Of The United States of America! Senator Obama has
a BRILLIANT MIND and a DELIGHTFUL PERSONALITY! The Senator
is CHARMING and "DOWN TO EARTH!" Barack Obama is "EVEN-
TEMPERED." I love to watch Senator Obama interact with his wife,
Michelle and their adorable daughters. You can tell that he adores
his family and they adore him. One of the best ways to "size up"
Senator Obama's character is to watch him as he interacts with
people. Whether Barack is interacting with everyday people on
the CAMPAIGN TRAIL or his supporters--BARACK OBAMA knows
how to make PEOPLE FEEL IMPORTANT. BARACK OBAMA LISTENS
TO PEOPLE! Senator Obama has TREMENDOUS PEOPLE SKILLS
and that is an IMPORTANT QUALIFICATION for a GOOD PRESIDENT.
BARACK OBAMA is a MAN OF GREAT CHARACTER AND INTEGRITY
(THIS SHOWS CLEARLY IN HIS SPEECH AND BY HIS ACTIONS).
I feel that Senator Obama's Plan to get America "Back On Track"
is a SOUND PLAN that makes sense. Further, Senator Obama
articulates his PROPOSED PRESIDENTIAL PLAN in a way that everyday
people can understand what he's talking about. The Issues that the
Senator addresses like: Health Care; The Economy; Alternative Energy;
Bringing Our Troops home (Responsibly); Improving Education and
of course National Security are IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE I KNOW!
I TRUST SENATOR OBAMA'S JUDGEMENT TO PICK COMPETENT PEOPLE
FOR HIS CABINET AND HIS STAFF. HE CERTAINLY HAS PICKED SOME
VERY QUALIFIED PEOPLE TO RUN HIS PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN.
SENATOR BARACK OBAMA WILL BE A FIRST-RATE PRESIDENT WITH THE
CONCERNS OF THE PEOPLE (ALL PEOPLE) FIRST ON HIS AGENDA!
Let us CONTINUALLY PRAY FOR BARACK, MICHELLE, MALIA, SASHA
OBAMA AND THEIR ENTIRE FAMILY AS THEY CONTINUE ON THEIR
HISTORIC BID FOR THE WHITE HOUSE!
LOVE & PEACE TO ALL!

Goldie Taylor has written a very interesting article in which she articulates
her struggles as a single mother who was able to overcome some
of the obstacles that affect many women today. Ms. Taylor does an
excellent job in explaining to the reader, the concerns she has about
the GOP Vice-Presidential Candidate, Sarah Palin........................
Read the Article at:

The period for early voting by personal appearance begins October 14 and ends on October 30. A permanent polling place for early voting must remain open during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
What Time Will The Polls Be Open On Nov 4th?
6:00 am to 7:00 pm
Identification is not required to vote at the polls, although you will be required to verify your signature. There are individual circumstances that may require that identification be shown. In those cases, you must present a photo ID, and if the photo ID has an address, it must match the registration address. If a photo ID is not used, the document must show your name and address. If you registered to vote by mail after January 1, 2003, and you did not submit a copy of the required identification with the registration application at that time, and you will be voting in a jurisdiction for the first time, then you will be required to submit a copy of one of the following: current and valid photo identification; utility bill; government check; paycheck; or government document. Illinois voters who vote during the early voting period must vote in person and must provide a valid identification. Valid forms of identification for this include a current driver's license, state-issued identification card, or another government-issued identification card.
Numerous provisions are available to aid voters with disabilities. If you are a disabled voter you may request the opportunity to register at home and have registration materials brought to you. You may also request to register to vote by mail. If you are permanently physically disabled, in a nursing home or in a hospital, you may also be eligible for absentee voting.

WARNING: There is explicit language in the video.
In the 2004 presidential election there were more than 2 million African Americans who were registered to vote but who did not cast a ballot.
Census statistics show that only 16 percent of nonvoting African Americans among those registered failed to vote for the reason that either they were not interested in the campaign or they did not like the candidates.
The other 84 percent of these 2 million African Americans — or 1,680,000 registered black Americans — did not vote for one of the following stated reasons:
• I was too busy.
• I was out of town.
• I forgot to vote.
• I had transportation problems.
• I am disabled and unable to get to the polls.
• The weather was bad.
• Polling place was far out of my way.
Clearly, most of the registered African Americans did not vote because making it to the polls was burdensome or difficult. This group offers a ripe field for Obama to harvest hundreds of thousands of additional votes. The weapon is the absentee ballot. Chances are that nine out of 10 blacks who choose to vote by absentee ballot will support Obama. Clearly, an effort to increase overall absentee voter turnout will be a huge plus for Obama’s election prospects.
The best strategy is to post information on obtaining absentee ballots on a state-by-state basis on BarackObama.com. A message can be sent to the entire universe of several million e-mail addresses collected by the Obama campaign with links to absentee ballot information for their particular state. This can be done right away and repeated when the deadlines for securing absentee ballots approaches.
Wide distribution of the information of the absentee ballot opportunity will also help white Americans who visit the Obama campaign site. In 2004 there were 70 million whites who were registered to vote but did not cast a ballot. A very large number of these registered voters could have used the easy absentee ballot alternative.
Last week, we kicked off a campaign to stop FOX from launching racist and hate-filled smears against Barack and Michelle Obama.
Good news: Over 428,000 people have signed a message protesting FOX. That's unprecedented—thanks for signing! Early next week, our partners at ColorOfChange.org will hold a major event to deliver boxes and boxes of petition signatures to FOX's headquarters.
Other media outlets will be invited to cover this event. If we can deliver half-a-million signatures, this becomes a much more powerful media story. And when that happens, FOX's advertisers will get the hint that it's not a good idea to associate their products with FOX's hate-speech.
Can you help us get to half-a-million signatures by the time of the big delivery next week by forwarding this message to 5 friends today? They can just click here to sign:
http://www.moveon.org/r?r=3914&id=13196-9187590-yd7WaXx&t=1
The petition reads: "FOX must stop injecting racism, prejudice, and fear into our political dialogue. We intend to hold FOX, its advertisers, and its personalities accountable for FOX's attempts to smear the Obamas."
You can let your friends know that FOX is shameless: In the last several weeks alone, they've "confused" Obama's name with Osama's, referred to Michelle as "Obama's Baby Mama," and called an affectionate fist bump by Barack and Michelle a "terrorist fist jab."1
This morning, Robert Greenwald's Brave New Films launched a short video called "FOX Attacks: Michelle Obama" showing some of the latest FOX smears on the Obama family. You can see it on our petition page.Greenwald's previous videos documenting FOX's smears on Barack Obama and the black community have been seen millions of times on YouTube.2

P.S. Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL) has a new book out, and we thought you might be interested. The Nationcalled Wexler the country's "Most Valuable Congressman," and he's stood with MoveOn on numerous causes, from ending the war to stopping warrantless wiretapping in FISA. Now he's written Fire Breathing Liberal, a fascinating account of life as an outspoken progressive in the House of Representatives. Says comedian Stephen Colbert, "I enjoyed Congressman Wexler's book even more than I enjoy cocaine and prostitutes." You can check it out here: http://www.moveon.org/r?r=3906&id=13196-9187590-yd7WaXx&t=3

I hope everyone is enjoying their 4th of July weekend!
While at our family picnic yesterday (July 4th), my family
decided that each family member would donate $3.00
(an amount that even most of the children could
afford to contribute) to the Senator's Campaign. In
addition, each family member submitted their favorite
Bible Verse, line from their favorite Inspirational Poem,
or Favorite Quote to me. I will forward these submissions
(along with a list of the names of those who contributed
their favorite verses),
to Barack and Michelle to ENCOURAGE THEM AS THEY
PRESS THEIR WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE!
So, I hope that you will join my family and me and DONATE
$3.00 along with your Favorite Bible Verse or Inspirational
Quote( Please e-mail your selections to me at:
lizasue74@aol.com). For those of you who wish to submit
your donations by mail, please send them to: OBAMA FOR
AMERICA, P. O. BOX 2798 CHICAGO, IL 60680 (Please write

Newsweek is set to publish a highly embarrassing report on Sen. John McCain, revealing that the McCains have failed to pay taxes on their beach-front home in La Jolla, California, for the last four years and are currently in default, The Huffington Post has learned.
Under California law, once a residential property is in default for five years, it can be sold at a tax sale to recover the unpaid taxes for the taxpayers.
