Now begins the work that must be done to turn our nation around.
I've met so many different people on here, and although our connection to each other was primary internet correspondence, we spent several months going through a process together. It was delightful, agonizing, frightening, frustrating, rewarding...but most of all, it was successful.
For any of you who read this before the site is dismantled and we go our separate ways...it was an honor to be part of this process with you. Millions of us working together, contributing what we could in terms of talent, money, and volunteer work. We built our "community" in less than two years. Imagine what we can do for President-elect Barack Hussein Obama in the next four. And imagine what we can do for our nation.

To all the folks who were there from the beginning and all the folks who jumped on this train as it kept a rollin', I have never felt more proud to be an American.
Let's Rock!!!

We are witnessing a new kind of politics exemplified in McCain's performance in both debates and of his followers. Today, one was arrested. Will John McCain take responsibility? No. He'll continue to lie, fabricate, distort and spread hatred. Obama is our only chance to slip through the crack before it closes.
McCain and his followers are setting a new standard for stupid and devious. Most of his campaign ads are negative. I guess that's the only thing he can do with a record like his. There was a time when I at least admired McCain. His sad legacy will not be that of a "Maverick Senator" but of a disturbed, angry man who has a score to settle but he's not sure with who.
It's time that America took the keys from this grumpy old man before he transfers his venom and lies to the world stage. When we took the keys from my Dad, he wasn't happy but it made the roads safer to drive on.
John McCain, I want your keys.
Today some Las Vegas supporters took to the streets to illustrate the difference between Barack Obama's Tax Plan and John McCain's Tax Plan using shopping carts! The full carts showed the extra groceries each family would be able to purchase each month with Obama. The empty cart represented what we will not get with John McCain.

Get this whole story out there. Flags stolen from Dem. Convention then given to McCain campaign saying the Dems. trashed them. False, lies,.......halfway reported get the up to date facts here
I think this may be too important to let it slide. Please read this.

Conservatives are singing the praises of Sarah Palin for the wrong reasons.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/03/rosen.palin/index.html
from our friends at moveon:
Huh?
Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:
This is information the American people need to see. Please take a moment to forward this email to your friends and family.
We also asked Alaska MoveOn members what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking. Here's a sample:
She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today. —Rose M., Fairbanks, AK
She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She's a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska. —Christine B., Denali Park, AK
As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. —Karen L., Anchorage, AK
Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position.—Sherry C., Anchorage, AK
She's vehemently anti-choice and doesn't care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary. —Marina L., Juneau, AK
I think she's far too inexperienced to be in this position. I'm all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn't done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain's part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he'll get our vote by putting "A Woman" in that position.—Jennifer M., Anchorage, AK
So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She's a global warming denier who shares John McCain's commitment to Big Oil. And she's dramatically inexperienced.
In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he's made a very dangerous decision for our country.
In the next few days, many Americans will be wondering what McCain's vice-presidential choice means. Please pass this information along to your friends and family.
Thanks for all you do.

It's time to up the ante folks. McCain has established a considerable TV prescence in wisely selected time slots.
Hillary, I am sad to report, is privately "voicing her doubts" about Obama to her constituents in an attempt to
sabotage Obama so she can run again in 4 years.
Most polls are showing a statistical dead heat between McCain and Obama.
What to do?
Obama needs to establish a considerable presence both positive and responsive in all major media markets. He needs to respond to every utterance from McCain as well as televise a 'gaffe' reel.
Obama should meet with Hillary and call her to the carpet. Is she on the bus or off the bus.
He can spoil her 2012 run should she continue to undermine his efforts now.
This is not the Clinton party, it's the Democratic party.
He needs a bump in the polls and doing some of the above things should help establish his "ready to rule" image.
Times awastin and there is so much disinformation out there that needs to be shot down.
It needs to come from the Obama campaign and high visibility surrogates.
If some of this is negative, so be it. We need our man in the White House and as long as he plays fair, he'll get there.
Please urge the campaign to engage in more active combat with his 'straight talking' rival.
Time is running short.
Let's rock!!!
Jim
