The Honeymoon is over fellow Democrats. I was more than inspired last night after watching the President address congress. I got this feeling of nostalgia as if it were August of two-thousand eight all over again, what a great feeling! He clearly gave one-hundred percent, delivered the clearest outline ever of healthcare, and touched on every issue that has been brought up or doubt that has surfaced.
Lucky for us CSPAN captures our Repbulican members of congress barely coherent for parts the flawless plan at times, and captured them scurrying out of the building directly after the President spoke his last word. One of them, like a five-year old, even shouted, 'You lie!' in the middle of Pres. Obama's speech! I was disgusted but not shocked at the behavior of the congressman. I doubt he would have done this if Pres.Obama was older possibly or a different person. This is not the House of Commons with Gordon Brown. This was a misrepresentation of what our members of congress act like for sure but I have to say thank you as well; things like that really get me off the couch! What a jerk!
The reality is, now is our time to mobilize. We have -got to help- get things done. Getting Pres. Obama in the White house was merely the tip of the iceburg, a huge feat indeed, but the journey does not end there! He desperately needs our help and needs it now if he is to have success with legislation now and in the future without a doubt. In this blog I echo the sentiment of so many other democrats but I realize that spreading the word in as many forms and repetitions as possible is crucial.
Not offering people the option of health education with a practitioner, for our citizens to better themselves in this country IS unacceptable and detrimental to our Country. Economists project that after this recession our GDP will grow at an annual rate near 1.0%, similar to Great Britain after their post-industrial era, which will become lower if our Human Capital (citizens) is not properly cared for!
I want to know where can I go, and or what can I do possibly once a week or more to help out?
I can most definitely find something that I can do here in the Bay Area to help out, either through this website or one of the others, however it is a little unclear as to what the most efficient option will be for myself...
I am 21 years old, able bodied, and motivated. There are so many like me within even five miles of where I sit now and all over the country that really do need to take part in Public Service and absorb in their core just how invigorating and renewing it really is to just do simple things like making phone calls; it really is a rush even when you get screamed at or hung up on, that's the best. My feeling is that the options may be overwhelming or confusing for some; we need concise missions, given on a regular basis to mobilize foot soldiers for change.
The ability to construct a simple cohesive plan has been something the Republicans have had beat us on indeed; NOT ANYMORE. *Hear this millenia generation AND baby boomers! We have -got- to do better and do it quck and -stop- getting caught up in the details; STOP the analysis paralysis true Democrats, GET GOING!
Dear Senator Boxer:
I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan not only for your stance on issues impacting women and girls, but also because you're courageous and know how to handle your colleagues and the press with sechel! (I hope I've spelled that correctly.) I used to live in the Bay Area but am now retired in Phoenix. I am a longtime feminist now getting very vocal in "cyberfeminism." Although there are many capable leaders in women's movement, none of them have the moxie you do, or the leverage. I'm writing to tell you that YOU'RE IT! Yes, dear Senator, You Are It. You are the obvious person to step forward and speak for women when current events focus worldwide attention on issues that disproportionately affect women and girls. In my review of the landscape, there is no one else who can take the podium or the microphone or the spotlight and do it as skillfully, as eloquently, and as powerfully as you can.I'm going to mount a campaign to put this idea out to online feminists, and I'll update you on where I'm posting and who else is weighing in on the issue. If you think that other members of Congress should take the podium with you, like Maxine Waters or another woman of color, I hope you will recruit them. If you think that there are men in Congress who should stand with you, please recruit them. Speak for women, Senator Boxer. You're it.

Calling All Artists, Creative Types, Fun People and Other Superheroes Meeting at Specialtys Cafe in Santa Clara was enlightening. We turned the corner in the cafe into the meeting area to see a bunch of tables covered with butcher paper, crayons and miscellaneous other stuff: big fluffy brushes, cat musician statues, pine cones, press-on lights and turkey feathers. All tools to inspire and motivate brainstorming. Our host Janet, AKA Jon, got our creative juices going.
Meet with like-minded friends and neighbors for an lively brainstorming session on what we can do to start creating the change we want. Expect to come away with specific, achievable and fun objectives; small steps and short term goals with long term results. Our first event was a lot of fun, and people came away with a better sense of where they wanted to contribute their time and energy. Since we have a mix of new people and people who were at the first meeting, we will blend the same kind of brainstorming with coming up with at least one small, easy step we can each take toward achieving our contribution goals. We will stick with things that personally intrigue and energize us, to make it easier to take those steps. We need all of us, with all our various interests, abilities and experiences to make this a great nation and a good world, whether times are good or bad.

It kind of worked. By having people write their notes in crayon on the tables, it put most of the group on the same wave length. Silicon Valley, the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California, United States of America and the bay area in general, have over 100 active BarackObama.com active groups. Most groups are within an hour drive of each other. We are concerned that ideas and work may be duplicated because each group is isolated. We could strategize more efficiently and work towards results if people interested in the same topic connected.
We broke into four groups of 4-5 and brainstormed together. My groups spent the part of the 20 minutes or so talking about how we could find out what other regional groups are working on. How to merge interests and resources? We also discussed specific ideas people want to champion such as converting from oil to solar energy.
After 20 minutes, everyone got up and switched groups. So by the end of the meeting, you talked with at least 12 people, a majority of folks who showed up. Many had participated in the Santa Clara economic recovery meeting at the library mentioned in the San Jose Mercury News article, "Weekend 'Stimulus Parties' Bring out Obama Faithful Across the Nation" by Denis C. Theriault. The group plans to meet monthly, so it'll probably get a lot done over time.
Over 20 humans and 3 dogs met the first Saturday of February to talk about the Obama Administration's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, at that time known as the economic recovery plan.
fixing the economy is like our getting our new puppy. you get an older one to help entertain the new guy. she takes off gets hit and you gotta pay the vet bills. Plus all the normal puppy work. But now you're obligated, so bear down and learn to enjoy it. No turning back. It'll get better. So come see our new dogs, and we'll watch barack. Most People are talking about shooting for noon. and hanging out for an hour or two. my original idea was an open house, but maybe that defeats the purpose of networking between y'all. Anyway i'm excited to network. My ideas on the stimulus plan line up with Obamas call to winterize homes. I'm into energy policy, This seems like this is a good way to flex this Organizing for America system and see if it works.

Our host, Tod, started us out by playing Governor Tim Kaine Answers Economic Recovery Questions video. The next few hours we spent talking issues important to Silicon Valley in specific and America in general.A couple of the action items we took away was to contact (e-mail, phone, snail mail) our US Congress representatives and other influential congress people in other states. We could focus on whatever topics interested us most but the main goal was to encourage them to support the stimulus bill. Most non wealthy people can afford to wait out the bad economy without work from our government.
Below are pictures of some human participants and a couple dogs. The long haired Dachshund puppy was the host dog and the black terrier, Culo, was the visitor dog.The meeting ended with a homemade berry and oatmeal dish, salad and pulled pork. A very nice Mountain View CA meeting all around.

Back in June, 2007, I joined Gather -- an adult social networking site to promote Barack. Recently, I asked the Gather members to share their thoughts about the Inauguaration, and about President Obama.

After November 4, 2008, I thought my work was done on this site. The President and Vice President has advised that we are just getting started, aren't we.
YES, WE CAN!
YES, WE DID!
YES, WE SHALL KEEP ON KEEPING ON!
A certain unexplainable guilty glee has come upon me this inaugural day, knowing that George W. Bush’s presidency is on its inevitable death bed, that it will die a long-awaited death followed by an immediate funeral. Perhaps the departing helicopter ought to be outfitted with a symbolic hearse. Eight years of torment will finally come to an end, but the consequences of Bush’s misappropriated, misguided, mismanaged and miserable leadership will last well into the future. It has left the world that is less safe, an economy that is less reliable and a monetary system that is less credible. So good night! And good riddance!
We have two hotel rooms reserved in the Washington, D.C. area and will only need one. The reservation is at the Marriott Fairfield Inn at the Washington-Dulles International Airport for four nights, January 17th with a checkout on January 21st. The room has two double beds and comes with free hot breakfast every morning. We're asking $250 for Saturday night and $350 per night Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. Hotel rooms in the Washington area are now going from $600 and up if you can even find one. This hotel is mere minutes from the Vienna, VA Metro subway station and is a very short ride into Washington. Cars are not recommended on inauguration day.

Embossed Metallic Engraved Seal
Earlier this week, I got a very official looking invitation to the Presidential Inauguration coming up in 11 days (YaY!). It includes a fancy embossed metallic seal on cardstock. You can tell it's the real deal because the back is pressed in.

I wish I could be there, but no way could I hang in a crowd of an estimated 1 million to 5 million people with only a few port-a-potties sprinkled around. In the snowy cold no less. True, watching the first African American being sworn in person is a once in a lifetime, never to be repeated again event, is worth the hassles to plenty of people, but I'm not one of them. Although some of the goings on look really good and I hope they show the events on TV.

Lance Wyman designed art piece inspired by Barack Obama’s campaign.
On this Election. I, Bart DeSaboya decided to vote for both Mr. Barack Obama & Mr. John McCain. What our Country needs desperately is the enthusiasm, spirit, sincerity, boldness, unity, which our President Barack Obama talks and lives by. That is why our President Barack Obama is trying to bring Republicans & Democrats together as a great Leader to show the World; United We Stand.
Our President Barack Obama with his kind demeanor, who is unafraid to show true change, shows he is genuinely bringing the World together. For us here at home in The Great United States of America, we should say a prayer every chance we get to say thanks, showing how grateful, lucky we are to be blessed with such Leadership.
The darkness, chaotic, devastating experience our President Barack Obama is inheriting is shameful, however very real. The massive forces of evil, destruction, encompassed with our dire straight economy, which has no end to the great fall that lies ahead waiting for us to pay as we play. Is one incredible task our President Barack Obama is embracing with his kind generosity.
Our President Barack Obama is focused, courageously showing all he can to bring us the people the help we desperately need. I Bart DeSaboya believe in our President, I believe in our new Transition Talented group of dedicated Administration, who all together will make the miracle take place.
Which is why it is so important that we strip ourselves from our ego, our old ways of doing business, the old ways of our political self-leadership, and come together right now with everything we stand for, believe in, wish and pray for, as Republicans together as Democrats, hand over hand as humans that we are and live to see this miracle happen, as we always say, Yes We Can.
My true Congratulations to you Sir President Barack Obama, Congratulations to our courageous group of Administrators who stand ready to fight the good fight. Congratulations to all Americans who saw the Talent, Elected the finest group of individuals to represent our new Government, Congratulations to all of us for coming forth to join in with passion to help in everyway shape or form.
For Our Home The United States of America I pray with Gods Speed, United We Stand.

This is why I support our President Mr. Barak Obama and his Administration:
I have been slowly educating my mind with President Obama; my soul has now realized that perhaps this one man and his administration finally have it right. His passion very much like ours with the skills to genuinely want to help the people and our Home the open door USA.
We have many concerns, complexities, political views, mass confusion, past history political administrations, our current so called leaders in the George W. Bush Administration which have all shamefully brought chaos into our lives and our Country’s economy.
Throughout history we have been evolving inside our political machine status quo ante,
who has been slowly destroying our home the United States of America and us as the People of our open minded Country. These are a few from the many reasons why I as a Republican praise with my support the efforts of our President Mr. Barack Obama and his Administration.

Finally, there is common ground: gay sex! And I was predicting the coming of Armageddon. It's huge blow to my ego, to be sure.
