I BELIEVE…
A Birth Certificate shows that we were born
A Death Certificate shows that we died
Pictures show that we lived!
Have a seat. . Relax . . . And read this slowly.
I Believe...
That just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do love each other.
That we don't have to change friends if
we understand that friends change.
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
That true friendship continues to grow, even over
the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
That you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.
That it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.
That you should always leave loved ones with
loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.
That we a re responsible for what
we do, no matter how we feel.
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.
That my best friend and I can do anything, or nothing and have the best time.
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you
when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but, we are responsible for who we become.
Two people can look at the exact same
thing and see something totally different.
That your life can be changed in a matter of
hours by people who don't even know you.
That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
That you should send this to all of the people that you believe in, I just did.
'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything.'

Hi All,
Covered by the FISA fiasco we weren't watching behind the scenes.
As Barack Obama was taking the big hits for voting "Yes" on the FISA bill (which it was known was already going to pass by a huge majority without his vote), nobody seemed to notice the Medicare bill and the number of Republican Senators that jumped ship and voted, "Yes" on it.
Many of us were wiping the tears from our eyes as if maybe Barack Obama had stood us up for a date. When in fact, as Barack is not President yet but we are very aware of his persusive bipartisan influence; the Medicare bill was being passed with a majority vote that George Bush cannot veto.
A huge victory for the people of this country. What happened? We all know the give and take of Washington politics, the behind the doors goings on which Obama says will Change when he is President. But, Obama is not President yet and still apart of the give and take of Washington Politics.
I would venture to gain that the give and take was a trade off on a FISA bill which was going to pass anyway, for a Medicaid bill which wasn't going to pass. A bill which will now help to pave the way for a badly needed Universal Health Care bill.
Who knows but, I say 3 cheers to mybarackObama!
Loveya,
Duane Kuehn

Obama '08
Today, i went to my favorite bakery to buy some baked pastries for my 80 year old mother. I decided I would not skimp nor count my pennies, but to go with my heart's intents and what my mom's desires. I know she loves flowers so I went to a special florist in Larchmont Village, Village Florist, one that arranges flowers like works of art. I ordered forty five pink roses surrounded by green miniflowers and green leaves, artfully placed in a wooden box. It looked so elegant and so perfect, it was strangely perceived as artificial. But, I did not want to stop there, I also wanted her to enjoy the best croissants so I went to a Miracle Mile bakery, called La Maison du Pain. While there, three customers were wearing Obama buttons, Obama 's round sticker " Change we can believe in " and another young teenager was wearing an Obama sweatshirt.
Seeing our commonalities, we exchanged not only smiles, but short conversations on why we believe Senator Barack Obama will help heal our beloved nation. We left not just with favorite pastries in our hands, but we all encourged one another to work harder. We were all united in the belief that while Senator Barack Obama is busy winning the hearts and minds of voters in the remaining primaries, we need to do our share as Obama supporters to convince others. We all believed that we need to prepare not just ours but other folks' hearts, and prepare ourselves collectively to deserve a good man like him to be our next president.
But first, WE MUST DESERVE SOMEONE AS GOOD AS SENATOR BARACK OBAMA and hopefully, our collective hearts are ready to accept him as our next president and then, we would have taken progressive steps to move our beloved country much closer to its potential as a beacon of light on the hill for all the world to draw strength, hope and inspiration.
Our gift boxes of croissants and pastries nurtured our mothers, but our political convictions were also made stronger by conversations with one another and we all concurred to work harder to have the best person elected as the next president of the United States, instead of settling for the lesser evil or the expedient candidate to the insiders to the Democratic party.
We would have elected by November 2008 the best candidate not just in smarts, intelligence and vision but also a world-class temperament that includes, that unites and that helps us become our better selves, and now we have moved much closer to the Americans' dream of a better tomorrow.
Everything I Hate About Myself I See in Hillary, by Judy Bachrach
You will love this piece. I had been toying with writing a similar piece after complaining after every debate and every speech that Clinton seemed to have no ideas of her own and merely appropriated those of Barack. After you read this chunk, read the rest of it. Good for Friday morning!
“What kills me is the way Hillary deals with men other than her husband, especially powerful men. Whenever Hillary thinks Obama is onto something – a phrase, say, or even a piece of rhetoric, however tedious – she doesn’t do what most politicians do: which is to, say, challenge it. No, what Hillary does is fiddle with a syllable or two and then appropriate the last thing that pops out of her rival’s mouth as though it were her own (Yes we WILL!!).”
