The Portland, Oregon Group that is open to all who supportIllinois Senator Barack Obama!
Those Americans who think otherwise are either misinformed, or narrow minded and/or politically motivated. The Nobel Prize is for what a person stands for as well as what one has achieved. During the short period in office President Obama has achieved more dialogue and understanding:
1- The European Union;
2- Russia;
3- Iran as well as the many other Moslem nations;
4- Many African Nations
5- Etc.
Due to some of the above efforts, President Obama and his administration as well as the European Union and Russia were able to seal a peace deal between Armenia and Turkey after more than 90 years of hostilities and frozen relations. If that isn’t enough for a Nobel Prize, then what is?
There will be a big march in downtown PORTLAND OR on OCTOBER 18th !!! for more information go to:

If the president does not come out in STRONG SUPPORT of the PUBLIC OPTION in his speech tonight, I will no longer be a Obama supporter. This is NOT what we worked for! The war still drags on, there is no more regulation of the banks or Wall Street than there was before and it's business as usual with Obama's blessing. Now if he won't stand up and fight for the people who worked so hard to put him in office and support what we want, a STRONG PUBLIC OPTION, let's work for someone else. Howard Dean, Bernie Sanders, Dennis Kucinich someone with some guts! This is NOT the change we worked our asses off for, this is business as usual and I won't be a part of it. You disappoint me mr. president.

I am inviting you all to chime in tomorrow night at 5:00pm Pacific Coast time, 7:00pm Central, and 8:00pm Eastern. You can blog, tweet, or even call in. CNN has been pretty good about airing twitters, but I am not certain, who the M.C. is going to be. I have twitter Address' for Larry King, Don Lemon, & Anderson Cooper, so far. The Tea-Baggers, will be out in force, but guess what, we out number them, and I am thinking, we are on our computers more! The Inter-Net, the new "Power-Tool!!!!"
My goal is to break records, of the most participation, in one of these events, ever! If even half of the people that voted for him, called, twittered, or blogged, we could literally blow up their circuit boards, now THAT would be news.
If you'd like to follow me, tomorrow evening, I am @bigskygirl
Be there or be square! Obama will be speaking directly after. Let's show our new POTUS how proud we are!

There is ONLY ONE source of inspiration for Al-Qaeda: The Saudi style Wahabism
There are a few sources of Al-Qaeda financing: drug trafficking, Saudi financing &… Now for VOA Persian, using a very unreliable source in Turkey to claim they were some contacts between the Al-Qaeda and the Shia Hezbollah in that country is a total farce. Perhaps Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda cars passed each other on a crowded Street in Istanbul?! Just recently in separate bombings in Iraq, the Al-Qaeda and their cronies killed more than one hundred Shia Moslems…Now to claim the Shia Hezbollah had some thing to do with this terrorist group who murder innocent civilians is really wrong! To date tens of thousands of Shia Moslems & about eight thousand Americans have been murdered by these terrorist extremists who think they are religious! Perhaps these Al-Qaeda terrorists and their Saudi mentors should also be listed as murderous and racist tugs who commit genocide right there on top of the list, next to Hitler…Or is there a plan to create division among Moslems and make Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan & … their battle ground. Those who finance and plan such attacks should know that in the event of such a disaster, no country involved in such planning will be safe and negative economic effects of such a conflict will be far reaching. Or perhaps they want to bog down US troops in Iraq, so they would not be able to move to Afghanistan & Pakistan were these terrorists have their head quarters.
My ideas in reforming the U.S. health care system will relies, also, on the Information Technology (IT) and prevention as developed in my previous blog " Organizing Health Care System: Time is Ripe for Action". I will like to bring to your attention this report as following posted in consulting firm blog.
"Upon assuming office, U.S. President Barack Obama made it clear that reforming healthcare is a top priority for his new administration. But unlike past attempts at healthcare reform that concentrated on the cost of coverage, it appears that today’s healthcare reform debate will revolve around the delivery of healthcare itself. Many experts in the field, such as Dr. Paul Grundy, director of healthcare transformation at IBM, believe this approach is ideal for tackling issues from the quality of care to the cost-effectiveness of medicine. “There is a real understanding this time that there needs to be an adult conversation around ‘what is it we buy,’” he says. “This is the first time we’ve really begun to focus on that issue as part of the reform.”
Technology provides the basis for sweeping reform"Despite the current state of healthcare, Grundy is optimistic about the new administration’s emphasis on modernizing the field with technology, as he notes that developments in technology are poised to make reform economically attractive. Using IT to make healthcare smarter, he explains, may save billions for American businesses—and provide employees with a better quality of life. “We have huge issues around errors and medical errors, which are hugely expensive,” Grundy says. “In a system where you have something as simple as electronic prescribing, you see a 90 percent reduction in medical errors because you have a system in place that identifies, warns you, prevents you from having that error occur.”
"As an example, Grundy points to pilot programs such as the ActiveCare Network pharmaceutical program, which can lower the cost of drug therapies by up to 90 percent by ensuring that the right drug is used on the right patient at the right time. These kinds of programs, he says, are being closely examined by the Obama administration as models for how to prioritize healthcare. “We have the pyramid upside down,” he explains. “We take our money, and we spend it on heart transplants and MRIs until the money goes away—and it never reaches down to covering comprehensive, robust prevention and primary care.”

Thanks so much for your comments and attention on this blog.
Now, the President Obama is working on this urgent matter. As proposed in my previous blog: " Organizing Health-Care System, Time is Ripe for Action " that is a very important priority of the Obama administration.
"President Obama will make reforming the U.S. health-care system his top fiscal priority this year, administration officials said yesterday, contending that reining in skyrocketing medical costs is critical to saving the nation from bankruptcy."
At a summit on "fiscal responsibility" convened by the White House, top administration officials said they also are committed to stabilizing the Social Security system and to revising a tax code that generates too little money to cover the cost of government.

Thanks for your views and comments
1. Problematic
Economically, with the baby boomers about to retire in growing number, the cost of America’s public- health and retirement programs, if left unchanged will rise from 8% of GDP now to 19% 2050.
The time is ripe for grand bargain that reforms the tax code, entitlements and healthcare simultaneously, boosting productivity, raising revenue, expanding healthcare coverage and putting the budget on the path of long-term balance.
2. Institutional Goals and Solutions
Our approach for this socio- economic crisis must be global with the full participation of everyone following their capacities and not their incapacities. With organization and method by helping any states with tangible policies, and more funding concerning the health care, special education and rehabilitative services issues, as following:
In every county, we must create a “ Social and Health District” with mission to coordinate the prevention, care and rehabilitative services in the framework of a district area. This will permit to anyone residing in the district to have the opportunities to get all the basic services needed in the field of social, health care or rehabilitative issues. In these districts, naturopathic and allopathic medicines will work together with other legally licensed professionals in the basic of conventions with the district. This global approach will have the merit to lower the costs and give people more choice for their health care and medical rehabilitative issues. The Social and Health District will have the responsibilities to protect people and the prevention any diseases as a local public health authority. (The recent case of the salmonella in a manufacturing plant of peanut is a important evidence for a better prevention with qualified investigators and equiped laboratory at the district level to save many innocent people of the salmonella)The Social and Health District work with the School District concerning students with disabilities for their full integration into their respective school at all level. This will permit the students with disabilities to benefit all the services needed for their full participation as a responsible citizen. The best school inclusive integration is the path for a better integration into the workforce. For persons with disabilities, the local district will have a better control for the respect of the Americans with Disabilities Act. There are a lot of discriminations again people with disabilities in the workforce. It is time to change these discriminations, by tangible policies and controls for the full respect of the law. The local district will help to solve efficiently these problemsThe present organization of the US health care system needs tangible reform, and because it is was not planned to serve everyone, but only for people with health insurance. This is a discrimination, as everyone have the right to a better health care based on the WHO rules.The prevention, health care and rehabilitative services issues must be administered and controlled at national level by the federal government and provided at local level by the Health and Social District for to serve the people and not the big insurances and other corporations. The urgent reform of the health care system is on the priority of the President Obama.

In the weekly address, President Barack Obama addressed the latest economic news and urged the passing of an America Recovery and Reinvestment Plan.He also announced that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is preparing a new strategy for reviving our financial system -- which will not only ensure that CEOs aren't abusing taxpayer dollars, but also get credit flowing and lower mortgage costs.

President Barack Obama arrived on Capitol Hill today with a clear message for Republicans: He’s happy to talk, but he’s not compromising on tax cuts.
President Obama is on Capitol Hill today to hear out Republican ideas for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan.
Upon finishing his meeting with House GOP leaders, he gave the brief remarks below..
He’s on his way to see Senate Republicans at 2:30 PM.
REMARKS BY THE PRESIDENT AFTER MEETING WITH HOUSE REPUBLICAN CAUCUSOhio Clock Corridor, U.S. CapitolJanuary 27, 2009, 1:41 P.M. EST
THE PRESIDENT: Hello, everybody. We had a very constructive meeting with the House members, members of the Republican Caucus. I'm a little bit late for my Senate colleagues -- former Senate colleagues.
And the main message I have is that the statistics every day underscore the urgency of the economic situation. The American people expect action. They want us to put together a recovery package that puts people back to work, that creates investments that assure our long-term energy independence, an effective health care system, an education system that works; they want our infrastructure rebuilt, and they want it done wisely, so that we're not wasting taxpayer money.
As I explained to the Republican House Caucus, and I'll explain to my former Senate colleagues, the recovery package that we have proposed and is moving its way through Congress is just one leg in a multi-legged stool. We're still going to have to have much better financial regulation, we've got to get credit flowing again, we're going to have to deal with the troubled assets that many banks are still carrying and that make the -- that have locked up the credit system. We're going to have to coordinate with other countries, because we now have a global problem.
I am absolutely confident that we can deal with these issues, but the key right now is to make sure that we keep politics to a minimum. There are some legitimate philosophical differences with parts of my plan that the Republicans have, and I respect that. In some cases they may just not be as familiar with what's in the package as I would like. I don't expect a hundred percent agreement from my Republican colleagues, but I do hope that we can all put politics aside and do the American people's business right now. All right.
New Year Resolution: No LNG pipelines in Oregon or America
The blinding light of a sobering reality is in our faces again, now that the buzz of Holiday cheer wears off. Like a wicked hangover, the Oregon Liquid Natural Gas(LNG) pipeline proposal will not go away with a simple pain reliever. The same kind of hangover that Coal and Nuclear power industries have caused over the years.
I thought of three new cocktail names for the Palomar and TransCanada corporations Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) Oregon pipeline plan. The “Clear-cut LNG Chardonnay Spritzer”, “Mt. Hood LNG Terminator Stout”, and the intoxicating “LNG Island Ice Tea.”
It should be noted that even one of these beverages is irresponsible drinking and could send the average Oregonian into a coma. Palomar and TransCanada corporation with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, are like bad bartenders over-serving toxic cocktails to water thirsty customers.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission(FERC)is the energy industries, friendly federal agency. FERC has endorsed the Oregon LNG plan and believes a LNG pipeline is critically needed energy and a sound environmental idea. Working together they have persuaded NW Natural Gas to join the project.
In fact, FERC has endorsed over eighty proposed LNG pipeline sites across America. Most of the construction for these sites have been delayed with environmental lawsuits.
FERC has been in the pockets of large corporate polluters for decades. The commission has both advocated and created the term, “Clean Coal”. The term “Clean-Coal” is an oxymoron and was used by both political parties through out the presidential campaign. There is no such thing as “Clean-Coal”, its a dirty and toxic energy source. The only thing “green” about it, is the color of money.
Recently, in Tennessee, millions of gallons of toxic coal sludge has spilled out destroying Agriculture and drinking water in that community. The coal industry spokesman stated they didn’t know how long it would take to clean up, or how to clean it up and if they could ever clean it up entirely. Arsenic and other toxins are permanently in the environment.
FERC, currently tells the public that Nuclear-reactors are a great idea, both safe and clean.
A decade after the people of Oregon forced the closure of Hanford Nuclear facility on the Columbia River, wind surfers have unexplained illnesses and rashes. Fishermen describe fish with extra eyes and mutated spinal bones found downstream.
FERC, leaves the radioactive contamination facts out of the, “safe and clean”, Nuclear energy endorsement.
These are the same kind of shortsighted energy policies that Palomar and TransCanada plan for the LNG pipeline. They tell the public that this is a safe energy source with no environmental impacts or risk.
The Federal guidelines required to build LNG pipelines mandate a 100 foot clear-cut on both sides of the path. This is stated for necessary “safety precautions”. A proposed 73 mile portion of the pipeline travels through the protected Mt. Hood forest. This means that additional road construction and increased logging for the Mt. Hood Wilderness.
Environmental researchers prove clear cuts cause mudslides in rivers and have massive environmental impacts that are catastrophic to our public forests. Fishermen tell us that the mudslides destroy salmon runs and prevent the salmon ability to navigate up streams. As the climate continues to warm, clear-cut forests have increased fire probability and turn public forests into tender boxes and powder kegs.
LNG is made with the high pressure compression of natural gas and freezing it at a negative 260 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes it more violative and dangerous as it runs through metal pipes in the forest. If the pipeline is disrupted through earthquakes or a single human error, the result is like throwing a bomb of highly flammable jet fuel on our already terrible dry and mismanaged public forests. A loss of valuable, public forest resources,private properties and probably human lives.
Pacific-Green Party of Oregon has many members in opposition on this issue with many groups and individuals working years on public education of LNG.
For example,Steve Jones and Jody McCaffree, are the founders of Citizens Against LNG and their campaign web site is Citizensagainstlng.com. This group is based in North Bend and pioneered the opposition against Liquid Natural Gas. Steve Jones questions the environmental impacts and public safety surrounding the proposal. They have fought the Jordan Cove proposal in Coos County and recently gained a legal victory from the Oregon Land Use Board.
The Jordan Cove pipeline proposal would allow LNG to be stored and shipped in large ocean vessels. These LNG ships are literally enormous floating bombs. Schools, hospitals and ocean marine life near the proposed location are all at risk. The Coos County environmental impact is enormous, all in the name of LNG profits.
The Federal guidelines for LNG transportation in Jordan Cove requires both Coast Guard ship and helicopter escorts. Helicopter costs alone are three thousand dollars an hour. The continual estimated cost of Federal escorts is at two hundred thousand dollars per LNG shipload. LNG campaign wants American tax dollars to be used for assisting their private profits.
Another example of wasted tax money for energy profits is President Bush and Vice President Cheney Republican friends at HalliBurton Incorporated. HalliBurton has been profitting in Afghanistan and Iraq for several years with natural gas and petroleum pipelines. A total injustice and outrage to all American taxpayers.
In addition, Palamar/TransCanada CEO Peter Hanson and Vice President Mohammed Alrai, are involved with shady foreign investors. Some sources report that there are Middle Eastern interests and possible Iranian interests involved in Canadian owned LNG projects. More research needs to be done on the International connections behind LNG projects.
The LNG pipeline campaign web site is www.oregonlng.com. The web site was designed to address the property owners and legislative concerns. The environmental impacts of LNG are missing from the web site propaganda. Take a look at it and judge for yourself.
In conclusion, Liquid Natural Gas, Nuclear and Coal energy are risky gambles with our environment and a threat to public safety. LNG pipelines place Oregon and the entire countries quality of life in jeopardy. LNG industries are misleading the public and distorting environmental impact studies. It is fradulent to claim that LNG is a local Oregon project to meet Oregon energy needs. LNG would be shipped to other countries and the pipeline is designed to fuel California. Palomar and TransCanada increase their profits internationally, with total disregard for the communities they are exploiting.
LNG is an unneeded risk, much like over consuming too many “LNG Island Ice Teas” after a holiday party and speeding in a car. Consuming less energy, while advocating and constructing wind and solar power are safer and greener alternatives.
A toast to the Pacific-Green Party of Oregon, Mr. Bill Bradbury of the State of Oregon, Steve Jones and Jody McCaffree with Citizens Against LNG and for their continued work opposing LNG pipelines in Oregon.
In Salem, on January 13th, Citizens against LNG lobbied legislatures to do the sober, responsible thing and oppose the LNG pipeline proposals. I encourage everyone to join my New Year resolution let your Legislatures and FERC know the opposition.
Not too many countries have been able to overcome their past prejudices and CHANGE course for the better when needed. Perhaps globally a few countries have been able to do so! And now the good old USA is certainly one of those countries.
President Obama is not only a very popular US president with 80% approval rating nationwide, but he is the most popular leader worldwide. With this kind of intercontinental popularity under the grace of GOD there is responsibility as well. Thankfully President Obama is a very knowledgeable and responsible leader. I am sure that if he keeps his campaign promises, then history will judge him as another President Lincoln God Bless his soul. After eight years of division, distance and resentment, people of the world are looking up to the USA again and their hopes for a better life are running high. Let us NOT disappoint them and help the Honest and Objective Peace and Economic (H.O.P.E.) leader President Obama succeed. All of us in the world could help the HOPE leader succeed in bringing peace and prosperity to the US and the rest of the world by:
1- Not calling others names;
2- Listening to the other side;
3- Putting ourselves in the other side’s shoes;
4- Analyzing what the other side’s legitimate needs and concerns are and being compromising;
5- Working actively towards peace and prosperity NOT only for ourselves but for the rest of the world as well. This is best described in a UN poem: “Children of Adam are members of the same family, and partners of each other. Why some would wonder? Because each one of us is created exactly with the same soul as the other! If one is in pain, then others should also complain.”

Ticket to History Winners Announced
www.pic2009.org
More than a quarter-million Americans submitted essays answering the question, “What does this Inauguration mean to you?“ It was difficult to choose just ten Americans to receive a “Ticket to History” but today we’ve announced the names of those people we’ll be flying out to Washington, D.C. for the Inauguration.
The first person we announced last week, Cynthia Russell, from Newberry, Florida, wrote of her dream that 2009 would be a better year for her homebuilding business. “Barack gives me hope,“ she wrote. “Hope that 2009 will truly bring change to Americans who find themselves in this mess with me.“
The ten Americans traveling to the nation’s Capitol next week include a firefighter who left his job in the financial sector to join the New York City Fire Department after September 11, a member of the United States Army whose husband is serving in Iraq, an inner-city school teacher in Baltimore, a former Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya, and a small business owner from California.
Here are the names of the ten “Ticket to History” recipients:
William Tandey (Price, UT)
Bill Ferguson (Baltimore, MD)
James Bryan (Loganville, GA)
Spirit Trickey-Rowan (Little Rock, AR)
Aleia Jones (Chicago, IL)
Christopher Cuneen (Bronx, NY)
Cynthia Russell (Newberry, FL)
Stacy Freiwald (Coronado, CA)
James Riviere (Arlington, VA)
Amelia Nuñez (Long Beach, CA)

Finally, there is common ground: gay sex! And I was predicting the coming of Armageddon. It's huge blow to my ego, to be sure.
"Now more than ever, we must rededicate ourselves to the notion that we share a common destiny as Americans – that I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper. Now, we must all do our part to serve one another; to seek new ideas and new innovation; and to start a new chapter for our great country." - President Elect Barack Obama

A special holiday prayer and greeting...
Give us, O divine creator, the vision which can see Your love in the world in spite of human failure.Give us the faith to trust Your goodness in spite of our ignorance and weakness.Give us the knowledge that we may continue to pray with understanding hearts.And show us what each one of us can do to set forward the coming of the day of universal peace.

A familiar introduction to an annual Christmas Carol Service contains the words: 'Because this would most rejoice his heart": let us remember, in his name, the poor and the helpless, the cold, the hungry, and the oppressed; the sick and those who mourn, the lonely and the unloved.'
Wherever these words find you, and in whatever circumstances, I want to wish you a blessed Holiday Season with oceans of joy and all good wishes for 2009!
