What is Extensive Vetting for Potential Obama Appointees?
Michigan has approved the smoking of marijuana for medical reasons. Can smoking marijuana threatened your hopes of landing a top presidential appointment? An army of lawyers from Michigan is faithfully volunteering on President-Elect Barack Obama’s Transition Team to vet his potential picks.
The assembly of President Elect Barack Obama’s administration is an explicit, exemplary and prodigious investigation. This process is beyond previous prerequisites of a government job. It’s above the acquisition of obtaining your actual precise hair count, yes, numbers of hair strands you may have. Tidous process?
These lawyers are utilizing a new level of scrutiny of any task on his transition team. They are vetting his potential picks with unprecedented scrutiny of their personal, financial and professional backgrounds.
Embarrassing e-mails, text messages, diary entries, my space web pages and Facebook profiles? Gifts worth more than $50, other than those from relatives and long-standing friends? Family members though third generations. Validate it. What did your great grand parents do for a living? Do you have any second cousins with connections to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mack, AIG or any other company receiving a federal bailout?
Obama is conducting the vetting process much the way he managed his campaign: methodically, thoroughly and on a prodigious scale. He did not wait until he won the election to vet his favored picks. Soon after he clinched the Democratic nomination, lawyers quietly prepared dossiers of about 150 contenders for senior positions -- often without the candidates themselves knowing. Obama is discipline to reading and studying with a semblance more towards Lincoln’s political strategies and thought processes and other a select few others.A Senior Obama Transition Adviser stated, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Change is coming to American let us not forget
Before the election was near end millions of Americans was inspired by Senator Obama
By his strong message of hope and bringing this country back to what America stands for, There was large crowds cheering on embracing the idea that we the people are one people we are the united states, This message rang in our ears from state to state across the world, Now that the election is over, The excitement of new found hope as arrive the signs come down the rally’s are over the dust as settle and President Obama is rolling up his sleeves to face the worst mess this country as ever seen in many years, Lets not forget those messages we all heard and accepted from the bottom of our hearts, Lets not forget the homeless, The jobless, The families that have been cripple by this dark hole, May we all dig deep in our hearts and carry out the message the chance of a life time to fix the broken homes, Hearts of those most affected by this horror.
Leave the bittier feelings of hate towards all walks of life in the past, embrace those that come to this country to escape the horrors of their own land because of fail leaders. Freedom rings for all, No one is looking for a hand out but a chance to be part of what a great nation as to offer. Just place yourself in those with less. walk in their shoes those with children wouldn’t you want a better future for your children a chance of happiness full of hope and dreams, So dose those that brave the great danger to bring their families to better lands, Let us never forget the men and women that die for us and fought for us
President Obama can not do this alone we must all join helping hands and do all that we can to keep this hope and dream alive every single day, If you have been blessed with the opportunely to a good education and Job Just remember it is not socialist to share those same opportunely to others, Just remember if you have two loafs of bread and only need one why not share that with your neighbor that as none.
This is not consider socialist This is lending a helping hand in time of great need, people assume that a homeless person made their own bed and now must lay in, Have you ever stop and ask that person how they become homeless? You may be shocked women on the streets are women that was unable to get a good education lost there spouse not enough income to pay rent and the basic needs to have shelter. People with no families to lend a helping hand
We as Americans do not leave a stray dog on the side of the road but yet we find it so easy to walk over a man or women, As we walk by to our home with all the comfort of a warm bed a good book snacks to eat.. We don’t consider how this happen to those people until we ourselves are all most faced with the same, You see I know this because I too was one of those people, How could this have happen I ask myself how could people be so blinded by what was taking place, How did this country get like this. Was we so busy or wrap up in our own success we fail to see not everyone was so blessed, Did we really believe we work harder then those with less, we was smarter then those kind of people?
Did we ever once stop and think about how and why we have blessed. Maybe our parents or grandparents worked really hard and left it all to us, Gave us a chance they never had. Did we take that for granted? What is Rich and well off anyway? Does rich mean my heart beats different then yours, Is my skin a different color, is my looks better then yours, Maybe true but went you need blood to save your life do you ask did this come from someone rich? If not why? Because you needed it to save your life or your Childs life?
Of course you didn’t ask because you didn’t care if that blood come from someone homeless, or someone without education or someone without food, None of that matter because you needed it, You took it without even thinking or caring, But you was blessed because some cared and gave maybe all they had to give at the time, So this year during the holidays and all year, each every year after that just remember we are all Americans that care want have hopes and dreams and needs just like you, So if you can change just one person’s life and give that one person just one small gift, Maybe a hug maybe a kind word, maybe just a little hope then you my friend have lived the American dream.

Many Americans say they're uneasy about Obama. He's pretty new to them. The Chicago Tribbune can provide some assurance. They have known Obama since he entered politics a dozen years ago. They have watched him, worked with him, argued with him as he rose from an effective state senator to an inspiring U.S. senator to the Democratic Party's nominee for president.
"We have tremendous confidence in his intellectual rigor, his moral compass and his ability to make sound, thoughtful, careful decisions. He is ready."

TBB, To Be Black. WE CONTUINE TO HAVE OUR CONVERSATIONS AND THOUGHTS.
Today, I met a man in a Western Wayne County, Michigan Campaign for Change Office. He referred to certain situations as TBW and TBB.
I asked him what does that mean?
His response, "To Be Black while living in a white man's world, is still a struggle".
He referred to himself as Mr. Grim. Mr. Grim purchased campaign lawn signs to freely give away to others. I asked him, how many were he keeping for his yard?
He smiled and pointed at his arms, as to indicated his skin tone and said,
“I'm black! I am a black man. I live in an upper scale white neighbor hood in Canton, Michigan. I’m apprehensive to put a lawn sign in my yard. I'm still black. I’m not TBW. You know To Be White. “
I asked, ”Don’t you have white neighbors with Obama lawn signs?”
Mr. Grim response,“ I’m not TBW, to be white. I am still a black man, in a white man’s world. Yeah, I live in his neighborhood, but don’t get it twisted. I just don’t want to be targeted, with nasty and hateful things happening to my property or my family. I am obviously voting for Barack. Today I’m showing support by buying signs to give to others.” I understood his concern; his fear but I didn’t like it!
Bankole Thompson, Senior Editor from the Michigan Chronicle did an exclusive interview with CNN’s Soledad O’Brien, CNN’s Anchor and Special Correspondent. CNN's O’Brien presented a documentary on Black in America. This interview is featured in the Michigan Chronicle, July 8, 2008 edition. Bankole referred to it as, “A romance with one of the most underestimated communities in America. The CNN documentary, Black in America, examined the lives of African Americans since the death Martin Luther King Jr.” I recommend reading the article for his take on the documentary and the issues raised in it.
Thompson stated, "It is interesting that a major network will devote so much time (six hours to be exact) to looking at critical issues in America. Honestly, give them credit because no major network has gone this far with their microscope”. Bankole Thompson was also one of the Moderators the first major pre-debate public discussion around the presidential election last night at the Detroit Music Hall.
For me, one of the most important questions Thompson asked O’Brien, “Will there be a follow-up to this documentary?” O’Brien response “Yes, there definitely will be. There is no question, and it may require another whole documentary after that”.
Mr. Grim purchased over 15 perhaps 25-lawn signs. Mr. Grim was motivated to purchase the sign but as he put it, he’s not TBW. He is TBB.Most blacks were inspired and would love an opportunity to appear on CNN’s Black in America, not for fame and not for money but for the reality of the deep passion, of simply being understood, accepted and respected; Respected in the world in which we live; for an unbelievable unselfish cause, for the brothers and sisters of the Black American Family!
Barack Obama must become our next president of the United States.
During the documentary, Soledad O’Brien interviewed, Dr. Rolland Fryer. Dr. Fryer is the youngest African American professor at Harvard University. Dr. Fryer made a conscience decision to do more and be more than he was on that day for today! Many have written and said, Dr. Fryer's motivation was negatively derived by all the drugs, violence and his incarcerated family members. However today his colleagues refer to him, as a brilliant baby genius. Reflecting on the theme of a speech I delivered on July 5, 2008 in Camden Arkansas, at Good Hope Baptist Church. —“I come to you today to encourage, inspire, motivate and challenge you to do more and be more than you are today.”
Barack Obama will become our next president of the United States.
Many blacks are gifted. They are a genius! If you dare to venture into their cultivated minds; especially after dinnertime, a good home cooked meal, or dare to take a stroll into the mind, from a life lived not quite desirable; seasoned in a long hot shower, of college education and a soothing bath, in a Jacuzzi of a career and newly different experiences… Ah yes, while transforming from a genius incubation holder, like a kennel from a ghetto perhaps? A genius will emerge.
We speak, walk to a vibrant beat, run a race that others simply jog, take a path similar to the connection from the Davison freeway to the Jeffries—it doesn’t exactly exist. You have to go through some channels to get there! Correct.
With high doses of self esteem enhancement and motivational injections, to enable us to leap prejudice skyscraping systems and philosophies. We must create and develop our own path. The that we may present to the world a true American, a re-birth of; “Wow unbelievable, how did they do it? He is a genius and TBB!
I believe you can find a genius in every black family. Some of these TBB geniuses started as a volunteer, working hundreds of hours freely. Take for example Sean Combs. P Diddy, started as a volunteer. Today he is the CEO of Bad Boy Records. T
here are plenty of venues to select from musical industry singers and rappers, rising to superstardom; to Ephren Taylor the youngest African American CEO to a the sports genius take your pick, Tiger Woods or Michael Air Jordan, the NBA legend. Tyler Perry, first African American to own a movie and a TV studio.
Finally, one of my favorite a quiet genius, Valeria Thomas. Valeria received a patent for inventing the illusions transmitter. This futuristic invention extends the idea of television, with its images located flatly behind a screen, to having three-dimensional projections appear as though they were right in your living room. Not so far fetch today with the autobahn innovativeness in technology.
Overcoming many obstacles, as of the slight fear displayed from Mr. Grim. He is cleverly marketing and supporting, Barack Obama. He is also protecting his own family. Mr. Grim lives in the TBW neighborhood but is TBB. Mr. Grim is an entrepreneur, another genius on the rise..
As CNN’s Black in America continue to move across the country interviewing various Black American families, for future scheduled episodes, many things stand out to viewers but in the black majority, it’s a passionate command to demand change; Change of the negative views and have a global opportunity, not a hand out, simply beginning with cognition. The thoughts created in your own mind... The Black family is truly a revolutionary dynamic system in today’s society.
Blacks in America- for this many of us agree! We all want to do our part, big or small, in the privacy of our home, with one another or simply stand-alone. We profoundly include each individual like you, that might, read my words, today. You will find many of these brilliant geniuses, black in your America!
“Happiness is a decision you make not an emotion you evoke. I come today to encourage, inspire, motivate and challenge you to be more and do more than you are today”If CNN asked you, how do you feel today, about TBB, to be Black in America or in your own neighborhood?" If you're not an African America how do you feel about the attention given to TBB, (To be Black in America)? What is your response?

Precinct 149 proved to be the Precinct that parties, starting with a tailgating in the morning with coffee and pastries as we watched the throng pour in. Later moving inside to the Exposition floor with our goodies. Rob did a great job of handling the delegate chair responsibilities, resolving some issue with alternate "elevation". That means promoting them to delegate to take the place of missing delegates. Sounds like some kind of crowd surfing or stage diving, but no.
We elected Patty Quinzi and Leonard Martinez as the delegates from Precinct 149. We elected Tamia Zulueta (Clinton) and Bonnie Mallott as Alternates. I am confident that Patty and Leonard with represent us well.
The Clinton delegates from our precinct did take the "Best Dressed" honors. The Obama delegates won the sensible shoe contest.
As you know from the news, the lines were long, and we had a LOT of time to get to know one another. We heard speaches from Party dignitaries (sp?), and one movie star who was not a Texan. He was plugging for Hillary. Figures. She'd send a non-Texan in on her behalf. Plenty of Texans in hollywood, wonder why we didn't see any of them plugging for her. HMMM.
Considering that the party has 2 full time employees and two part time employees who had 3 weeks to pull this together, I was impressed over all. It sounds like they could use volunteers to help with event planning.
Thanks again to Rob & Eric for the voting strategy sheets. Thanks to Patty for being our whip.
It was nice to make new friends that I look forward to seeing again and again.
I've been to delegate training at the county and attended our precinct delegate/alternate meeting hosted by our delegate chair, Rob Smith.
It is imperative that we have as many alternates and delegates show up and sign in on Saturday as possible. Some delegates have already declined to attend and we know we will need some alternates to fill those spots. Between alternates and delegates at last night's meeting, we barely had enough there to complete the delegation.
If you are looking for a ride, let me know. I and another are volunteering to carpool people out to the expo center.
